In response to the Owner of West Paces Ace Hardware comments: 1/11/2022: I brought back 3 items I had purchased for me, still in the bag and with tag on and don’t want the money back. All worth $31.00. There is your discount + change. What an exaggeration and a lie! The time on the receipt shows 8:05pm and you are saying your staff member stayed until 8:37pm assisting me. No one spent more than 10 mins assisting me and I would call that the expected “customer service.” You had your staff (all very kind by the way) working late because they were getting the store ready for the holiday special you had the next day, so they were not there late because of me, they stated so. I wanted to return the items right away so that you would have them for your holiday sale event. I never caused a scene, but you most certainly did. Your own employees and customers are witnesses. You followed me as I was exiting the store and asked me to stop bad mouthing you, which I did not. You did that to yourself with your horrible behavior. You need professional help. 1/10/202: The owner of West Paces Ace Hardware is so RUDE and unprofessional. The staff lacks training. Beware! If you purchase something make sure it is a final purchase or expect to be insulted and berated in front of other customers for returning it, even though you asked about their return policy prior to purchasing the items and the staff told you that you would receive a full refund, no problem; even though you told them you might have to return the items if they did not work out and the staff agreed to give you a full refund. There is no sign anywhere in the store warning customers about their return policy by the way. So when you are returning an item, unless you comply with the owner's request to pay for the transaction fee that he said he would incur if you used your credit card at the time of purchase, expect the owner to escort you out of the store and tell his employees that you are not welcome there (that's what happened to me). This is a poorly managed business.

This may not be the norm, but I had a terrible experience with this particular store. Went in to buy a piece of cut plexiglass (20"x20"). They took out a giant piece of plexiglass and cut my piece from it. I asked if they planned on charging me for the original piece or just the 20"x20" section, and they said my section would be $16.99. Sounds good. When I got to the register and I was being rung up for $16.99, the owner came by and said that's not correct and that I need to buy the original piece (~$35)! The problem seemed to result from a serious disconnect between the owner and the employees, which ultimately falls on poor management skills by the owner. Just out of curiosity, I stopped by another Ace on my way home and they said they would have cut my piece for ~$12. I even called their other store in Decatur (same owner) and they said that a 20"x20" plexiglass would cost me $14.99. When I called the store that I bought it from and talked to the owner he spoke with a condescending tone and actually hung up on me. Aaarrrrggg ... worst managerial/business sense ever. Anyone need a picture framed? I almost have enough extra plexiglass to frame TWO more 20"x20" pictures...

This is just WAAAAAAY beyond customer service, so I HAD to post a review. I love this store anyway and shop here frequently for everything from gifts, paint, plants for our garden to nuts and bolts. Today, I purchased a gift with cash that I had just received from the bank. Happy with my purchase, I headed home. About 45 minutes later, my doorbell rang, and I hesitantly looked to see who it was and found a man at my door with an ACE Hardware name badge, who explained that he was one of the OWNERS, holding up my envelope of cash for me to see. I had left my bank envelope with several hundred dollars in cash at the store!!!!! They found me because I had used my ACE Rewards number, and they looked up my address! I remain a super-fan of this ACE store. The variety, quality and clearly the service at this store continues to make me think of them first for just about anything but groceries! Thank you for continuing to be my "neighborhood" store in this big city.

I came to buy a Christmas gift for a family member. Right as I found what I was looking for, the owner confronted two young ladies near me who were looking at jewelry and accused them of trying to shoplift. They clearly were not, and were visibly and audibly shaken by the accusation. He told them to leave, but the two had several items in their hands which they said they would still like to purchase. Begrudgingly, he lead them to the register and allowed them to pay for their items. I put my item back on the shelf and left. Low class shown by the owner. Bad attitude. Grinchy

The place for The Unhelpful Harware Man. We were broke down, with a flat tire and needed a tool for a stubborn bolt. Hubby arrived just as they were closing the door and pleaded with them to help him out. They said "sorry our registers are closed." He was even going to leave his driver's license if he could borrow the tool we needed, and pay them later. Dude said said "let me ask my manager. . .um yeah no, Sorry." No humanity. I hope you get all the Karma you deserve.

Love the inventory and assistance at this store. I didn't realize the gift area was so huge and so varied! You could find a gift for anyone in this place, truly. Lots of great personal and home fragrances, clever greeting cards, and stuff you never knew you needed. New owners Chris and Mike (since May 2021) are kicking it up a notch, so watch for even more cool stuff as the holidays approach. Everybody loves a hardware store, and this is the perfect one to love.

This is a MUST see Ace. It's not your typical hardware store. There is a high end gift/boutique shop on the left side. They carry Inis perfume, hard to find in some places. Mike and Chris are the new owners and I am happy to watch them grow it into something Buckhead can be proud of. Great prices. Great products. Unique products too. You just have to go see it if you are passing through, live near by or need a special gift. Go! You won't regret it!

My granddad owned a hardware store and I couldn't tell you which screwdriver is the Phillips head. This is why I love Ace! I can walk in and I'm always offered help without being laughed at. From the cashier to the guy working the key making machine, everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Within three minutes I had all of the random items I needed: eyeglass screwdriver, pressurized air to clean the inside if my laptop, and AA batteries.

We've always loved the storefront, but have recently used their handyman services. I'd have to say it was the BEST experience that we have ever had with a handyman. The scheduling was easy and seamless, we were reminded of the appointment in advance, our handyman showed up on time and was very efficient - and we are so happy with the job he did! We had him remove and replace a ceiling fan and hang some artwork. 10/10 would recommend!

I stopped by Smith ACE this morning half way through a bathroom DIY project when the grout pens I ordered online turned out to be a total dud. Thanks to ACE my project is now complete! Lesson learned. Don't try to save time by tacking hardware supplies on to your Amazon order. Just go to ACE and save yourself the headache of a mail order return. And thank you for testing the product on-site so I had confidence it would work

This isn't your typical ACE Hardware store. Beyond its unassuming store front, inside features a general supply hardware store, combined with every other useful household & clothing item, making for one surprising little shopping extravaganza! I must have spent an hour just perusing the books & cook ware alone. This store is worth a visit, if only for refreshing your seasonal decor.

I adore this store. It’s a perfect spot to pick up things you need for your home and gifts. Today I did just that and had dish soap and some gift items in a bag and unbeknownst to us the soap was slightly open. When I realized that several items were ruined I called the store and they let me bring those items back for replacements. I am so grateful and will definitely be back soon.

I only stopped in to have my keycoppied. The YOUNG Caucasian Man at the Register was very kind, Welcoming & Friendly. Thank you sir. The OLDER White Man, never even said HELLO...just asked what I needed and acted as if I was bothering him!! He really needs to, RETIRE or find a job where you can work REMOTELY! Thank God I only had to spend $4 for his LOUSY SERVICE here in Buckhead!!

This is a very convenient place to get a gift for someone among other things. This Ace Hardware location sells home goods, and various other items without having to invest the time commitment of going to a larger hardware store. It’s the best of both worlds for nice gift items and household product needs. Well run with nice employees

  • Chris Holloran

I love this store. Ace provides a personal experience that isn't too common now days. The employees greet customers as soon as they walk in the door. They ask if they can help you, and they mean it. They know where everything is located in the store and can tell you a lot about the products they sell.

  • Steve Thomas

Almost nothing but geegaws, home decor and crap you get rid of in yard sales. Almost no real hardware anymore. Every year they have less real hardware and more figurines. Want a UGA stadium seat pad, here's your store. Want any actual hardware, go to General or the Ace on Howell Mill.

  • C.J. Kelly

You can't beat the helpful hardware man, and this is my favorite location. The staff has been there for ages (complimented by the constant supply of fresh faced local high schoolers) and is incredibly knowledgeable. I'm always amazed at the scope of their goods for such a small store.

I was visiting family during Christmas and shopped the Ace Hardware store with surprise. I never seen such a great selection of gifts at an Ace Hardware and such friendly people as Anna when I checked out. I let all my family in Atlanta know. Thanks, Bryan

  • KAW Wade

Most wonderful hardware store in Atlanta! Hardware for those who need it and wonderful gifts, clothes, shoes, accents, candles and everything else of your hearts desire when it comes to your home!

  • Jose Miguel Torres Gonzalez

Excellent service. Is like visiting a part of your family. Very gentle service regardless of customers race or color. I really felt they were listening and trying to fill my needs.

  • Betty Carter

I love our local store, they always treat you like your part of their family when you walk through the door.Awesome customer service always...way to go Blackshear Ace Hardware!

  • ATL Gigi

Oh my goodness! This store is my Happy Spot! It smells great, they have the best clothes, lotion, room sprays, nostalgic old school candies, oh yeah & great tool too☺ …

  • Garrett Grabowski

The store is nice and clean but none of the employees wear face masks to protect others that come into their store. Seems pretty selfish to me.

  • Susan Carter

Always have loved this store but very disappointed during today's visit as staff don't wear masks and customers not required to, either.

  • sun2ner

Really helpful, as soon as i came in i was greeted and asked if i needed help finding something. Service is great and friendly staff.

  • Charles Anderson

Knowledgeable and helpful staff. The selection is exactly what you need from a hometown hardware store tucked away in the city!

  • Joely Heege

This is where I go when I need a gift for a hard-to-shop-for person. They always have unique items and friendly staff to help.

  • Donna Dawson

My sister and I were pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the items. We loved the experience. It was orderly and clean.

  • Viv Love

Smaller than other stores. Seems congested. The staff can be helpful at times. Pricey because it is located in Buckhead.

  • Mike H

May as well call it a Michael's Craft store. More crafts and decor than hardware. What's happening to ace hardware?

  • David Kraft

Its not where you want to go, its where you have to go. And usually they're on bankers hours. (Closed)

  • The Sober Lieutenant (The Sober Lieutenant)

This is a great spot for a Hardware store. Needed gaffers tape. They had it. Home Depot didn't.

  • Judy Axelberd

They didn't have exactly what I needed but the staff were super helpful and friendly.

I enjoyed my visit at Smith Ace hardware. The staff there was also helpful.

Nice people but no masks. It’s too bad they can’t get with the program.
