My two experiences with this location have been nothing short of a 5 star review. During my first visit a few weeks ago I had to come in to purchase a replacement shower head. Mine had broken during the first shower at my new home, so I was pretty happy to see that there was a hardware store within walking distance. Not only did they allow my dog to come inside, but the employee there (white male, about 20-25 y/o, brown hair, thin, can't remember name) commiserated with me on the poor quality of the broken product and helped me find a quick and easy replacement. He talked to me like a human and not a sales person which was great. During my second experience, I called the location to inquire about glass cutting. One of our window panes fell out as a result of hurricane Michael winds, so I wanted to grab a new one quickly. They unfortunately don't cut glass at this location, but they did tell me about other Ace locations that do cut glass. When I let them know that these were all too far away, they told me about a glass shop right down the road which I'll be going to later today. Friendly and helpful.

update- Graham just redeemed this store he went above and beyond helping me upgrade my lower quality weed eater. He got to the root of the problem and found a great fix by encouraging me to replace a whole part that wasn’t working for me. Thank you! *Beware* SKETCHY RETURN POLICY AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY “.I’ve owned Stihl equipment for 20yrs with almost no problems, purchased a lower model Stihl weed eater from this location on July 25. Everyone was great but they forgot to ever verbally mention there are no returns under any circumstances. This weed eater broke on the second use. Now I want to return it since it is pretty low quality vs what I’m used to. Tried to reason with the store manager Carly and she ensured me no returns would ever be possible since it’s their policy. Luke the sales rep never informed me no returns would be possible! I wouldn’t have bought an item with this policy ever! I want to return to purchase a better model and they “stihl”won’t allow it…they said it was on the receipt but who reads that!! I want a sign and verbally stated!!

I appreciated having another hardware store option to utilize. However, I have encountered a problem every time I asked for help in this store and do not plan to return. The manager or relative to an owner of the store always pulls the person who is helping me away from me and says “There are hundreds of options and we are not here to talk about your options or help you with that” each time I have seen him. This time he pulled the associate away from helping me to go outside and work on a car that was in the parking deck. Where is his customer service? We are your neighbors! You may not miss my patronage, but I would rather deal with the zombies at the big box stores than return here and receive this treatment for the 20th time. I do not recommend this place.

I sincerely appreciate how knowledgeable and helpful our Ace is. Knowing that I can come to them for help if I get in over my head really helps me try some reach projects. The other day I thought I had totally screwed up a plumbing project and was going to have call in a plumber for a Saturday emergency and leave the water shut off until then. I couldn't disconnect my broken part to get the right size and brought in a picture and described what I thought was wrong. We couldn't quite tell what size I needed from the photo, so they told me how to fix the immediate issue so I could turn the water back on. He then told me how to disconnect the part so I can bring it in and get what I needed. An $11 part sure beats a Saturday call to a plumber!

What an amazing site! In typical, Ace Hardware fashion, the staff was very knowledgeable, extremely professional, and both courteous and polite. I didn't plan on buying anything. I was simply just looking around. I'm new to the area, and I just wanted to see what kind of inventory was available. I'm pleased to say, I was not pressured at all to buy anything. In fact, the sales associate with whom I spent a majority of my time actually asked me not to buy some gardening items until I was sure what I wanted. How refreshing! Ultimately, I left with way more than I'd anticipated (nothing), and, then, I went to put everything in the car (over $100 worth of high, quality hardware and tools). To only realize that I'd walked there....SMH!

I contacted this ace several times in the last few days, asking to see footage from their cctv of my rental car getting hit and ran in the covered parking garage behind their store. It was after store hours, and I’m now traveling and can’t physically go in to ask. Each time I have contacted, on separate days, they say their cameras are down and nothing is being done about getting them back on. You mean to tell me this business with high priced inventory, in the middle of downtown Atlanta, is operating for days without surveillance? Has no one had the audacity to fix the issue or do they just not want to help me obtain a 15 second clip? Not so helpful hardware.

Such a nice addition to the Grant Park neighborhood. A solid selection of tools and need to haves for many situations. The staff are incredibly helpful, which is awesome. Downsides? Well, they are a bit pricier than your big box retailer. Is that bad? Well, for me, I'm willing to support a neighborhood place that has staff that are readily available to help me. There is a true cost to having help that knows what they are talking about, and being around to share that knowledge. I am more than willing to support that with my business, as they add value and help me make good decisions.

I got some different color light bulbs for my place and the guys inside were super helpful and friendly. There was plenty of parking spaces both on the side for my parallel parkers and in the back for those that don't want to park in the sun. Now it's right next to a residential area so be mindful where you park because I parked in someone else's parking spot which I don't regret because she caught me, told me she had the same lights then invited me to see where she used hers. But that's all I'm telling so that's all folks!

My go-to neighborhood hardware store (they’re alive and well!). They specialize in interior repairs and lawn care, so don’t expect a huge inventory for big renovation projects). I’ve never been someplace so attentive to customer needs. That’s possibly bc they have such a huge inventory in a relatively small space that it can be hard to find things. But there’s a 98% chance they’ve got what you’re looking for (or they’ll help you figure out an alternative). PS - They have the best deals on Green Eggs anywhere in ATL!

I love my local ACE! My dad has been a contractor for over 30 years and always went to the big two. They are nice within themselves but ACE has always been more comforting and personal. This particular ACE will be my new go to for all of my needs. I was able to find the tools and equipment that I needed to complete a small task and spent some time browsing the aisles. In doing so, I saw myself returning and building a relationship with the employees in order to complete my future tasks. Thank you Ace!

Horrible!!! In my opinion, they do not deserve one star. They have no business working in 'public relations.' I mean, when I attempted to shop there, I felt very uncomfortable the whole 5-10 minutes I was there. They looked down their noses at me; like I had no business being there; as if I should have been cleaning out a shed or sweeping their storefront. They treated me as if I was beneath them. I will never go there again; even if it is the last Ace Hardware on earth. ☹

Just as I was heading to a home improvement store in midtown, I recalled there was an Ace hardware store in the Grant Park neighborhood. I was coming from EAV, so it was a short trek. Great store, friendly staff and they had what I needed at a competitive price. Do yourself a favor and shop locally, go to big box stores when you must, but give these businesses a chance against the indifference you face in many retail establishments. I will shop there again, parking was no problem. Yay!

Wonderful store. Always super helpful and amazing service. You can park in the Larkin lot and employees will bring your stuff to your car. Prices are reasonable, not sure what an earlier reviewer was whining about. Ditch the big box stores (you won’t miss the experience of an apathetic Lowe’s highschool employee vaguely pointing toward a random aisle when you ask for help, I promise). We buy their firewood, and it is worth the few extra bucks a bundle - kiln dried and minimal smoke.

Definitely one of the best hardware store experiences I have ever had. I walked in, someone was standing at the front door who led me to the aisle I needed, and then I immediately grabbed the item and got to go to checkout. The service is excellent and knowledgeable, and definitely makes a great experience. The store is also very new and in great condition, and they have a big selection with good prices.

Excellent service. I went looking for some bolts to fit a tv stand that I recently purchased because I misplaced the manufacturer's supplied bolts. The representative literally looked at the directions for the tv stand and helped me to figure out what bolts/supplies I would need. I've never had this kind of customer service at the big box/chain home improvement stores. Will be back again and again!!!

Ace is the best! The professional, knowledgeable service is always a breath of fresh air. I'm so glad one has opened up in this area, so I can stop going to Lowe's, where you struggle to find anyone that works there, and most of them have no idea about anything. Note that this place is pretty hard to find. It's tucked away inside the parking garage, which is convenient once you know where it is.

Customer service on par with best ever! Small store, but fully stocked. Went in to have keys made and purchased other items while waiting. Thank goodness they were fast! Cashier carried my bags to the car as I've not been well and she could tell I needed assistance. Will definitely be driving past the other chain stores to come here in the future!

Probably the best and most genuine spot you can find . looking for guidance? You will find it. Bob and Dave and Howard would be the go to people but anyone in there is eager to assist . small purchases, big purchases, I am always treated with respect and the crew shows an eager effort to resolve technical challenges the right way. Great spot!

Fantastic local hardware store with strong customer service. Purchased a Big Green Egg for Christmas, and Todd the GM came over in person to deliver and assemble it. The selection is also good. Sheps does paint matching, has a wide selection of indoor and outdoor power tools, and a decent selection of hardware. And, it’s in walking distance.

Just moved to this neighborhood and read the reviews here. I was approached right away by a sale associate who helped me find exactly what I was looking for and then spent a few minutes shopping around, I had another sales person ask if I needed anything. I got everything I needed and left a happy customer.

This store always takes care of me. The times I've been in the staff is always attentive and walks up to ask if I need help. I've ordered several items online for in-store pick up and it has always been fulfilled correctly. This store will continue to be my Ace Hardware location of choice.

Ace is usually an amazing and helpful place for anyone trying to get anything done on their house - That's why I was so disappointed in my visit to Shep's Grant Park Ace. If you have the time to go up to Virginia Highlands and see the folks up there you'll have a much better experience.

Same owners as the midtown location, which I used to live next to. Love the selection and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Manager is great, been seeing him for several years. Make sure to grab a king of pops on your way out and stop by the Grant Park Marker.

Stopped in just for a couple things but I was in a hurry. Right when I walked in, someone asked what I was looking for and walked me over to it. Saved me 5 minutes and was super friendly, same for the cashiers. I wish there was a place like this in my neighborhood.

Most helpful staff of any hardware store ever. Knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I needed and steered me clear of what would have damaged my engine (2stroke vs. 4 stroke TruFuel). Great shop when you don’t want to deal with traffic to get to Lowes.

I've been here countless times since they opened. They have always been extremely helpful and resourceful! Most recently, I brought in a component of my pizza oven and they helped me drill out a screw on the spot. Cant recommend Shep's Grant Park Ace enough.

I frequent this Ace on a regular basis. I get keys cut there all the time, never had to go back because of bad keys always good the first time around. I also love picking up my Mrs. Meyers cleaning products there, they are always in stock.

This is my go-to hardware store. It's unbelievably well-stocked for how small it is, and everyone is super helpful. They do a good job at tailoring to city needs, with plenty of home maintenance, gardening, and grilling goods.

This location has great customer service. Employee Ruben was awesome when he made my key a few weeks back, and today the manager Dylan was great. He was so friendly and a huge help with assisting me. I’ll definitely be back.

I came here today for a plumbing issue and the staff member was so helpful! Spent a long time trying to find me the right part and when we couldn't find it, he directed me to where I could. Half hour later I have the fix!

Doesn’t take cash. 15-30% more expensive than lowes. Basically this place sells yeti coolers and yeti cups. Ride the extra 5 minutes to lowes or Home Depot and use American legal tender (cash).

I find their prices to be high but the service is so great that maybe the high price is worth it. I can get in and out of here in 5 minutes for even the most hard-to-find items!
