This place is hit or miss. In about 25 yrs of using this store I can only remember 2 cashiers that made me remember them. One was a gentle young Muslim woman who helped me with a cash back... when the assistant manager gave me some b.s. about not having enough cash in the till... oddly there where huge line ups before me... The other was an older man who greeted me with a hello young man strangely enough that's the same greeting I use when I see people I know.. it's a very rare greeting. Now there's a term called barraté in french used to describe the process of injecting water into meat to give it more weight. You can lose up to 30 to 50% of your meat in the cooking process it is so flagrant at this super C... very disappointed this has not been mentioned before. frozen isle ... the freezers in the middle of section need to be cleaned/washed more often. Pick up many a times items that left my hands smelling bad. I won't say the prices are great... if your a good shopper you know it's about visiting different stores to get good deals... 2 redeeming factors 1. good selection of products(not meat) Second the staff that work in the back like stock persons or bakery or butcher are pretty friendly I prefer dealing with them best. Some advice to the shoppers always be kind and pleasant to the employees customer service can be very difficult.
This place is like the Vatican of supermarkets. I went in and nearly collapsed out of something like religious awe. The vaulted ceilings; the innumerable aisles; the incredible variety and quantity of value brand products. They even had Magic Masala Walker's, which you can usually only find in Indian grocery stores. In short, if you want to irrevocably affect your aesthetic sensibilities, your sense of wonder, the weft and warp of your very life, go to this Super C. You don't even have to buy anything -- just lie down in the cat food aisle and take in the beauty of it all. Minus one star because the lighting was a little harsh. Please consider installing warm mood lighting or lamps around.
Not much done to prevent covid. Impossible to social distance. No one followed the arrows for the Iles. People with their masks half off. Tired frustrated cashier. Unfriendly staff. Was charged twice for a product I only had one of. To get my refund I have to return the next day, not just the next time I shop there. So It will cost me more for the bus tickets than the item is worth. So this is how they make their money. According to a friend, you have to always keep an eye on the cashiers. Not a happy customer. The delivery, didn't bother to keep my frozen food frozen and the ice cream was melted and I imaging the pizza is ruined too.
My 76 year old brother fell on a wet floor where there was no sign. Shoppers helped him up and some cashiers. The manager was no where and nobody asked him if he was ok or needed an ambulance. The next day I went to customer service and asked for the manager. She was not there, only her assistance. I expressed my disappointment to Dominique, the assistant manager. He told me that the next day they will watch the video and they will contact my brother who was badly injured from the fall. This is almost two weeks ago and nobody cared to give a phone call‼‼‼ WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL TEAM, SHAME ON THEM‼‼‼
The best Super C downtown: a great parking lot, good prices and discounts. The only problem during the pandemic specially the first year, they don’t have a priority line up for pregnant women, seniors and wheel chaired. I hated when I was 6-9 months pregnant with a partner has to be 24/7 on call for work & taking care a toddler alone with no family in town, lining up and waiting for long specially I have hernia and health complications on one hand and a toddler to carry on the other hand that I had to always wait in line even if I speak with the guard on the door. No mercy on that days
I'm always disappointed and end up leaving without what I'm looking for. The produce selection is comparatively expensive and not a great quality. The store is constantly in disarray with random half full shopping carts abandoned in the aisles, and almost always there's a spill or unattended mess with staff hanging out and poorly driving palletjacks or blocking the aisles. I always think I'm going to be getting great deals but rarely do. It's been more worth it to go to the nearby Pharmaprix then IGA then shopping here.
It's OK. Sale prices are generally really good. Its bigger than a lot of grocery stores in the area. The selection is on the lower end when it comes to selection and quality but they will have what you are looking for in most cases. Parking is free and abundant. Very conveniently located as it is in a plaza with places like the liquor store, post office and pharmacy etc. The entryway of the supermarket smells like stale beer because of the can return machines. That's gross.
Good selection of items and fair price. The items are placed in an intuitive way and the fruits and vegetables are fresh. This store doesn't have a huge selection of exotic foods. The line up at the cash is fair and I never had to wait for long. Please note that this store is close to the Atwater market, an SAQ and a pharmacy. There is also a large parking space and it's close to the Lionel Groulx metro station. This makes it a great place to go to run all your errands.
Mixed feelings about this grocery store. On one hand, they have to compete with the market across the street so they have some decent choices. They also have fair prices, good hours, and loads of parking. What's so bad then? It's super disorganized, they never replace the shopping baskets at the front of the store, they are ALWAYS out of club soda, and basically everything else I buy on a regular basis. Always, always.
The store has a great variety of products and their fresh produces are always of good quality. The store is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful when needed. There is plenty of space to circulate even during peak hours. Their seafood section is too small but anything too specialised that they don't have can be bought at the Atwater market to complete your list.
It's convient and carries most things any grocery shoppers needs. Fruits and vegetables are plentiful and usually fresh. Meats can be a hit and miss for good select in every category, mid week shopping much better. Checkout is either self or cashier however lineups can be a thing as this location tends not to staff all their available lanes even when packed.
After paying my groceries, I left my wallet at the cashier and I realized it when I back home . So, I drove back to the store to look for my wallet and luckily the kind ladies cashiers who found my wallet and return it to me. I sincerely thank you to the kind ladies cashiers to help and returned my wallet. I wish them all the best in their life!❤️
The staff are really nice. They don't have shopping baskets, and they often run out of really basic things like celery and sugar. They're understaffed, so sometimes you wait a long time when their defective self checkout machines malfunction. Not the best place to choose if you just need one item for a recipe, in case they don't have it.
9pm and the lines are so long... And it's not even that busy ! it's been a few times that I come here and it's always the same. 1 cashier open + the self checkout (which is extremely flawed and counter intuitive). I guess they really don't care about the user experience. It's all about the profit and minimizing the number of employees.
The perfumery or cosmetic products sector is deficient in other areas, it seems to me that it is well assorted but I do not recommend buying their whole chickens, it is better those that sell clean pieces, good parking, the bathrooms are worse than those of any highway gas station in the city. 3rd world sorry but not sorry
Went today and my experience was hit and miss. I asked the employees blocking access to the dairy fridges if I could pass and got a lecture about them being too busy. Seems chaotic at best. I also notice that dairy (yogurt) is being kept in open fridges that are much too warm. I think I will avoid this location.
I bought 18 kg's of kitty litter/Selection brand for $7ish!!! Wonderful deal. ...I also bought a couple of Vanilla master cards. There was a major problem with one of them , but the woman in charge of this dept fixed the problem SO Fast!!! Super C, you got me!! I will be back on a regular basis⬛
Good specials; friendly and super competent cashiers. We love the 3$ Irresistibles brand frozen pizzas! Lost a star for not having some "rarer" items like curry powder or loose black tea, but honestly a pleasantly well-priced grocery store! Definitely will become part of our regular grocery store stops.
Staff are extremely rude and obnoxious to English speakers especially someone of Colour I think they all need to take a training course on how to properly communicate with customers since none of them know how to talk to people properly. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re someone of Colour or English speaker
Super very large large selection of vegetables and fruits all neat and beautiful. Specials on various products. Selection of fresh meat and also frozen products A very large selection. One problem all in French including at the auto checkout which is a bit of a problem with the messages you receive.
Good store to buy grocery Huge parking space This is different than other stores because other stores close their entry door before 10 to 15 minutes but this store close the door on the listed time. The staff is polite but I think some are new they don't know the exact loction of some products.
Surprisingly good. more than ample parking being challenged by customers of the Atwater market, SAQ and gentrification of area. Shopping music pleasing to the ear. Plenty of deals from fruits on entry, yogurts, cereals, Selection flavored water and colas, no stock outs and ample cashiers
Has an above average score because it's quite stocked for the necessities and if you look hard enough might even find something interesting, staff are pretty good helpful wise, and less of a waiting time than most depending on the time of day and the day itself, all in all pretty decent!
It's ok. It has the basics you need. Does it seem like the freshest for fruits and veg and meat? No. But it's cheap and kind of decent. And they carry an ok selection if microbrews. Just don't go there if you want anything like chili powder or vegan yogourts. They are often out of stock
Great prices...the best I have seen in Montreal. Lots of activity people stuff etc so not a quiet experience. Lineup for cashier on Saturday at 11 am was short. I would definitely come back here. Prices here contrast greatly with the high prices Atwater Market which is next door.
The parking is convenient, The goods are complete, Fruits and vegetables are fresh, Price is reasonable, The refrigeration of the freezer is not very good, There are many people so checkout is slow, And the self-checkout machine is a bit difficult for the first person to use.
Great place for all the groceries you need. Price is great. A lot of choice all the time. Veg and fruits very decent. Lots of parking space and just next to Atwater market. It can be busy sometimes but generally there's enough cahsiers and self service cashiers.
What I like most about IGA is that it's no frills. In this day and age everything is so expensive. I've never had an issue with the food there. Would most likely help to check the dates at times. But overall no problems. Plus self checkout is always apricated.
Low prices especially for dry goods but generally mediocre service. I waited 40 minutes for help being the second person in line at the customer service desk with employees unwilling to call a supervisor or additional help. Get what you pay for, I suppose.
Its an ok grocery but i have to say the fruits and vegetables are mostly not very fresh and when they have promos announced in the flyer , they often ( like really often) run out of stock. Its a shame that they dont purchase enough inventory for sales .
The most crowded and hellish grocery store around. Selection is mediocre. Prices are good. Cashes are SUPER crowded. Expect a 30 minute checkout unless you go during the slow hours. If you need to pick up a package at the FedEx booth it's not bad.
Don't buy your meat or produce here. Produce is almost rotten. The vegetables are just disgusting. You buy and have to eat it all right away or the next day throw it away. That's how bad it is. The rest I would say is good. And they accept Amex.
The super market was clean and well configured. The aisles are clearly marked with large panels. They have 4 self service checkouts. The machines were easy to operate and did not ask a millions extra options, this made for a quick checkout.
Found everything I needed and saved $25 on my groceries, Fantastic sales and the regular prices are $2 and $3 cheaper than everywhere else. One disappoint was the meat counter was pretty empty....maybe Super C is too popular !!
Not too good letice was rotten meat didn't look good I wish I could 0 stars not normal nothing looks good look at the pictures judge for your selfes somebody not doing there work letice still no better looks rotten not too good
Great box store. They're competitive with their prices on eggs, yogurt & dairy alternatives, and frozen fruits. It's disappointing if you're looking for Asian products. And I wish they'd get a BIXI located on their premises.
Always a zoo, day or evening, and never enough check stands open. This AM seven people waiting because only the Quick Check and the self check outs were open. The prices here are not that great to justify the poor service.
Some products can’t be found but the prices are very good. Cheaper than other supermarkets and the fruits and veggies are fresh. Not many organic options, but some. Brioche bread, same brand than other places, $1-ish less.
good grocery store. sometimes after 8pm there is not enough stock on sale. mostly clean and functional. pay attention to automated cashiers. They are very sensitive to weight changes and slow. Instead, take human cashiers.
Nice & handy grocery store to stop by on my way home, but they seem to need to do a better job training their staff. I've tried twice to rent the Rug Doctor carpet cleaner and both times nobody knew how to rent it out
Cleanliness and supplies have much improved at the Super C ,Atwater. The prices of fruit and veggies are quite incredible compared to other grocers. The meat and fish quality and choice seems to have improved also.
The blue toned fluorescent lighting leads you to believe you are shopping a discount grocery store, but fact is, it is you are getting what you pay for. I feel like I lose a part of my soul each time I go in here.
A discount grocery chain with unbeatable sales. They carry a wide range of products and even local goods like St Viateur bagels. It can be a bit difficult to find what you need if looking for something specific.
Employees wear their masks pretty well, setting the standard for clients. Cashes are always slow and it feels like they need more cashier staff. Great deals and one of the nicest Super Cs around.
, hit and miss as to shelves being completely stocked If you are too early or late you will see a lot of empty shelves and not much in the meat display. Best time to shop probably atter 12:00 pm
Super amazing deals and friendly staff. We forgot our grocery bags and the cashiers offered us a cardboard box which will be recycled as a cat bed. Free parking as well. Satisfied customers!
This is one of the most affordable grocery stores with great produce and a variety of products, although I would still say Toronto has better alternatives like fresco and Food Basics.
Good big grocery shopping store! A lot of choices. The only thing that the floor not clean and in the entrance there is a very bad smell!! Not comfortable to shopping there!!
Great store! A lot of variety and overall cleanliness was excellent! I loved that the meat manager yelled at a bunch of anti-vaxxer Arabs for not wearing their masks inside.
Customer service is not good at the western uniondesk. 3rd time and there is never anyone They keep telling you come back in 15-20 mins. I ended up leaving and went to Metro
Always out of produce and understaffed. I cannot stress how awful this supermarket is. The shelves are always deserted, and it always looks like a scene from the apocalypse.
Super c on Atwater , very busy place. Great variety of fruits and vegetables and other grocery needs . Staff is helpful and courteous, also Atwater market right next door.
Products are fresh however less affordable nowadays. Prices have gone up. Hoping Super C continues to offer more discounts on their merchandise as they are known for.
** June 24, 2023 ** I am standing at the store. They are actually CLOSED today, despite Google Maps displaying that they are OPEN until 11 pm. They are CLOSED.
I love shopping here. It is very close to my home, the prices are affordable and the parking is very big. I also want to add that the staff is very friendly
Don’t waste your time. They never have enough nut milk, and it’s overpriced. Today I got this nasty surprise when I returned from the store. Moldy pitas.
Usually okay but lately not worth going on a Monday, most thing depleted, and not just items on sale, and not only on Mondays. Not sure what is going on.
Horrible customer service manager not helpful making things worse not professional at all; she wasn’t able to resolve things just making faces. Awful
Overcharged me for fruit and refused to listen to me They made up stories until I proved to them that they were wrong Refused to credit me Very rude
Clean well organized Super Super market where i got real discounted prices on needed daily product. I wish the one closer to hom was like that!
Inexpensive, but no rewards program. Update: they added Moi rewards program. Good prices on meat, but vegetables are higher than you'd like
amazing. simply. it has everything you need from cat food to toiletries to fresh produce. amazing prices compared to other grocery stores.
Good prices, sales are better than most, customer service is not great and there are lots of people who enjoy stealing in the store.
While I wouldn’t come here for fruits and veggies, you can find most staples at a lower price than you’d find them at IGA and Métro
Prices are good and products are of good quality. . . . . . You could find almost any grocery and other things of necessity.
A very good supermarket with affordable prices, and the promotional activities are full of goods. Very favorite supermarket.
Huge market! But it is cold inside, you should not go through it by a T-shirt. Steak is cheap and mostly recommended.
Its just a normal grocery store for me. Entrance wasn’t that clean but its ok, let’s say its because of winter.
Easy shopping. Can get all of your groceries and party stuff. Beer cartons at great price .
Very impressive location. Convenient. Staff is courteous. Very good grocery selection.
Good sales but low on some food categories like frozen vegetables. Prices are up again
They have a great produce section, and prices are better than their competitors.
Some items are in special! Very large and has many variety items. Recommended
very good shop have a lot different productions. We visit this place often
No frills shopping experience. Good quality food and hard to beat prices.
They have good deals and specials especially for non perishable items.
Metro food for less, even if not the cheapest it is close to it.
Nice cheap place for grocery shopping. They have good deals.
A good Super C. Much less "messy" than others I've been to.
Staff is super friendly. Produce is always fresh and cheap.
Lots of poor people shopping there I felt sorry for them!
One of few reasonably priced grocery stores in the city.
It is clean and easy to find all that we needed
Empty shelves, missing product all the time...
Huge space, great selection, good prices!
A good place to check the good deals.
