A real mess! Very disappointed and won't shop here again!"
"I love shopping at Métro"
"It was awful of the staff there"
Poor treatment and terrible customer service experience. For years since they opened this Metro Plus ETS I was a regular client and spent thousands of dollars on groceries as it was conveniently located in the area. A constant issue I noticed with this metro was that often their price labels did not always match the price that rang up at the cash register. I reported this and complained every time I noticed it. For over a year I was regularly harassed by an employee every time I was at the checkout and paying for my groceries who was constantly watching me and would cause me problems at almost every opportunity. I had reduced my visits to this store and took my business to other grocery stores that opened up in the area a few streets away. I had zero issues with the new stores and experienced excellent customer service and better deals. On the rare occasions I went back to this metro for a few items I was short of and again this employee would take the opportunity to cause me problems. The last time I was simply looking for and found a free cardboard box as I had many heavy items. I didn't like using plastic bags and paying extra for them as they are still bad for the environment. After I paid for the groceries this same guy came up to me and took away the box. He said I can't have this one and they needed it. I said ok could you please find me another box then. He refused and said we sell plastic bags and you can buy them. I asked for a full refund and walked out of this store and decided never to go back. I had enough with these guys. I asked this guy for his name and position and he provided me with a wrong name and refused to tell me what his position or title was. I reported this guy to the management and owner and they did nothing about it and made me feel completely devalued as a customer. They said that there were no boxes available as they make sure they crush them all and throw them away. If they actually cared about the environment they would keep some available for customers to reuse and recycle since they are crushing and discarding them anyways. They seem to be more concerned with selling as many plastic bags as possible and have no regard for their customer service or the environment. I told them they can keep their boxes and I will keep my money and shop somewhere else.
To management I’ve been shopping at this grocery store 2-3 x a week spending more than a few hundreds of dollars each visit for the last 3 years. I’m not someone who will complain about cost inflated or store set up but I will absolutely say something when one of your employees is unnecessarily rude. Whether a customer puts a shopping cart away or NOT “We” the customer are the reason why your employees have a paying job. To the young light brown haired female employee who stopped me and told me to turn around and take my cart back while I was on my way out, trying to navigate 3 very large tote bags full….DO YOUR JOB, I PAID TO USE THE CART, ITS YOUR JOB TO PUT IT AWAY IF NECESSARY. If you don’t want to deal with the possibility of moving a shopping cart GET A NEW JOB… OUT OF SERVICE INDUSTRY. You have a reputation amongst friends in the area as being extremely rude, maybe you need a change in careers.

I love shopping at Métro. The French Roast Bief I bought today was great and very tender. The fruit were also fresh and tasty especially the Ontario peaches and the fresh and big Washington Cherries. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. The butcher always provide a good advice about the various meat available. I will continue to visit Métro supermarket especially in Outremont for the easy parking and the large space inside. The seafood counter has lot of varieties and fresh fish and salmon available daily. Special thanks to the Métro executives and staff for making shopping a good experience.
It was awful of the staff there. Especially for the pandemic situation. I was wear the mask and came inside the shop, their security stopped me and asking few questions (which it’s fine for their job to check the history of travel and so on) but suddenly he told me “step back and away” I was like what? It was YOU came to talk to me and I am not moving an inch. How rude it is! Can’t believe that was happen in this shop. If you much fear then should choose not to work.I don’t want to do my groceries and been yelling like that! Since that time, I NEVER back to metro.
Good products as usual, but the products are deliberately placed in a way to force customers to look for what they want and take longer to find them. That, in turn, exposes more products to customers attention for a chance to raise the bill on our way out. I find this very dissapointing as the prices are absolutely mad. For example, salted crackers are in a different isle from the sweet ones. And the usual cashier shortage on your way out.
Price of everything is far too expensive!! It is said that parking space is free for costumers, but then they charged me $ 30 for 30min! Can you believe it? And when I claimed about the issue, they shouted angrily and said nothing could be done!!! They only put 5-10% discount on items that are almost expired, or to be quite fair, 1-2 days before expiry. I am sorry to say that I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received.
Just a little advice. The exit of the underground parking lot cross a side walk on de la Montagne street and most of the time cars wont slow down when coming out thus risk to hit a pedestrians. I dont count how often I almost got hit by a car. And the brutal transition between the parking darkness and bright light when coming out doesnt help. Its quite dangerous. Please put a STOP sign at the exit.
It's one of my favourite grocery stores. Staff are always helpful ans courteous towards the clientele. I also like the layout and how easy you can find your articles. The place is nicely organized. + love the meat section alway freshly cut pieces available. Attention is paid to the displays and packaging of the items. 2 thumbs up!
The shop is ok a bit expensive but anyway 2023 and covid excuse lol..but I used to order take away food (foodhero...)..I don't remember one time my order was ready on time. The service is horrific. What a shame. Just don't your job properly. Maybe you should ask for a training at other places offering the same service.
I've gotten food poisoning twice this month from the adonis pre-cooked shredded chicken they sell under their prepared food counter. I shop here exclusively, and both times I got sick after purchasing that product. Otherwise, great store. I hope they remove that product or figure out why it is spoiling repeatedly.
It has various locations around Montréal, you can find countless foods, cheeses, wines, beers, and certain Mexican products such as tortillas or hot sauces. It also has a recycling station for cans and electronics, if you need to send money around the world, Important, they have Western Union service.
Clean, nice personel. Good selection. Pricey, but inflation is hitting pretty much everything right now, so I can't say if it's worse there, or if they are usually more expensive than say an IGA. In any case, it's a big store with tons of products, and the meat quality is excellent.
Great place to buy groceries..free parking underground.. prices are going up as inflation is hitting everywhere in Montreal..open late which is good ..but can be busy sometimes and le line at the cashier can be long during evening hours... popular place with ETS students..
Great value and easily accessible. The produce is fresh and they have good offers. Love the hours they close at midnight giving time to come home to settle from work than shop without rushing out to get. Very practical, clean and organized.
It is a nice supermarket with reasonable prices for goods. I found vegetables and fruits here to be as fresh as in the farmer’s market. It has a collection of ready-to-eat food which can be bought at affordable prices.
Has the stuff you need, but noticed they are missing out on a few good products, example Miller MGD. The aisles are very tight too, when it gets just a bit busy, it’s very hard to shop around comfortably.
I wish I could give 0 stars, I wonder how incapable cashiers can be, I know you're not being paid much and I can clearly see you hate this job, but c'mon any common sense? most disappointing store ever
Clean, brightly lit store with an intuitive layout. Most of the staff speaks French, some of them speak English and are overall very helpful.
$o expe$ive. You need to be a very rich person to $hop here. Then they expect you to be the cashier and do the check out without pay.
In general it's a god place for groceries and prepared meals. The self-payment process it's a nightmare with the scale on the size.
Staff was exceptionally rude and condescending when I switched from French and spoke two words of English.
This market is well-maintained and the is usually enough staff to help with minimal waiting
Great selection and prices, staff was very friendly and free parking available!
Good place to do your groceries. A huge advantage is that they close at 11 pm
Well stocked fresh vegetables, drinks, meat etc. Hot counter looked great
It was so expensive. I bought 4 items, and it was about $40 after taxes
Cool they got my brand of beer only placing them in different spots
Every thing is amazing except the store is a bit pricey.
