Pre-emptively, I didn’t end up seeing the actual doctor in person, but is my experience in the lead up to that. I had a scheduled appointment at 10am today. I arrived about 10 minutes early, filled out papers that took me about 15 minutes. While waiting in line to give back the papers and pay, the nurse called my name. Since I was in line to pay they decided to take the next patient instead of waiting the minute or two it would have taken to charge my card. I then proceeded to wait, asked updates in which I was told the doctor had a “procedure in progress”, blamed me for not arriving 15 minutes early, that as a first time patient it “should have clicked in my brain”. Unsure why they would bump up someone who had a “procedure” to do over myself (the nurse saw me waiting to pay btw) who was just there for a screening. I ended up waiting an entire hour until they called my name, when the nurse took me back and inquired how I was I responded about being annoyed at the wait to which she said “well the intake staff told me it took you 40 minutes to fill out paperwork so it’s not our fault” (I’m paraphrasing). Not only does that make me seem incompetent, it was a complete lie. I’m a patient person, but being treated and spoke about this way was truly upsetting. So at that point I decided to cancel the appointment and get a refund. Although I can’t fairly rate the doctors here, I can with certainty not recommend the facility.

The doctors that I see at Mount Sinai are excellent! My experience with billing however has been horrendous. On a recent visit they accidentally didn't charge my insurance because I had just switched (charged $290 for a 15 minute PCP telehealth visit!?). This mistake was understandable and I called, they identified this issue saying that the visit was not attached to my insurance and said it would be fixed. However, over the next three weeks, I kept getting notifications for the whole bill. I continued to call the office and was told a different story each time; it was due to my deductible, they were taking care of it, that I should email someone responsible for these issues but the email I was given was not functional, also wrote a message in my chart weeks ago that still hasn't been read...Finally after checking with my insurance that the claim still hadn't come in I called again and someone told me to call billing. Billing saw the bill and said that it was never sent to my insurance and they would take care of it.

Unfortunately I was recently drugged, assaulted and robbed. I went to the Beth Israel Clinic on 23rd street and spoke to the light skinned, African American receptionist around 11:30am on Saturday morning 8.29.30. I told her I wanted to get a toxicology test done because I was drugged, assaulted and robbed. She asked for my insurance. She said Beth Israel didn't cover UnitedHealth Community Plan. She then gave me a piece of paper of other area hospitals and recommend I go someplace else instead. I think that's against the law, isn't it? Regardless, I went to Callen Lourde which did not take my Heath insurance but they took me. Their rape counselor was tremendously understanding when I still couldn't make heads or tails what I had just survived. Someone needs to fire that receptionist - or maybe she's just doing as told. I was blacked out during my assault, but I was wide awake when I saw just how disgusting Beth Israel treated me. Disgusted.

This might really be the most unprofessional running medical office there is in the city. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Upon needing help, the staff wastes no time in showing the rude, attitude filled, and unprofessional demeanor. Don’t try calling the phone, you might as well listen to run if it noises on a YouTube video; you’ll never get through (which amazes me since there’s always 2/3 people at the desk when you walk in). It’s so sad because the doctors are great. However accessibility to them is a challenge. I really wish they removed the sloppy classless little people with little brains off their payroll. Wish you people luck! Back here again for a physical, THEY HATE PICKIN UP THE FRONT DESK PHONE. I’ve never seen a more undeserving medical office with a staff who is not truly committed to better health but their personal devices.

The building is very clean. The wait to be seen in urgent care is always reasonable. The reception staff can be a tad bit stressed and unfriendly. Perhaps this is why they have gotten poor reviews on this website. The administration would be wise to be more vigilant about providing sufficient staff so that no one is overwrought and so that patients are well-attended. On the other hand, the nurses and doctors are very friendly and professional. The doctors are for the most part patient, with a good bed-side manner and they all have really listened to my concerns. The only complaint I've had is one doctor who didn't return my results nor my phone calls for months. He is an exception. The results were bad too. So, there's no excuse for that. The other doctors are much better. We can't let a bad apple spoil the bunch.

I went to this practice once, and the front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are inattentive, curt, and treat you with disrespect. The doctor however was great. Unfortunately I only got to see him that one time because 6 months later he left the practice. I called today to see if I could be referred by their office to a new doctor in the practice. The 'receiving secretary' on the phone could not have been more rude and abrupt with me, even as I was trying to get more information from her to the other doctors in the practice. I called her on her rudeness asking her to be more considerate of me the patient trying to obtain a new doctor since my old doctor left the practice leaving his patients high and dry. She finally just said 'I'm putting you on hold' and never came back to the phone call.

Sent a staff member there after 30 seconds after phoning for an appointment. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor were all extremely efficient, caring and skilled. The doctor was one of the best doctors I've ever watched, and the staff member thought he was very thorough. After consultation he referred us to a facility that could do the more extensive radiologic imaging he thought necessary. The doctor had submitted all his notes to this facility, so by the time we got there they had them. We were seen - they allowed me to escort him inside the ER triage area - as we were masked and both vaccinated - within 5 minutes. Spectacular care, well co-ordinated.

The worst. Went there for convenience of a walk in for a really bad respiratory virus. The doctor prescribed me tamiflu (even though I didn’t have the flu). The medication was making me more sick than the actual virus. Had to go back a couple months later for an ear infection. The same doctor prescribed me antibiotics to treat what he thought was a middle ear infection. The infection got worse over the next few days. Called the office to let them know, and they acted like it was such a hassle and kept telling me to let the antibiotics run its course. Ended up having to go to the ER that night. Don’t waste your time or money.

They have a beautiful office and some really excellent staff. However, I am disappointed in their administrative director. I have sent three letters, called a dozen times, even walked into the office to try and speak with her but have not been able to resolve a simple claim issue. 7 months later my bill is in collections and I am still unable to come to any resolution. Between my health insurance, the lab and the BIMG I am not sure which is the most dysfunctional, and most likely this is the result of a broken system rather than an individual. All I would like from them is the courtesy of a response.

The billing department in this place sucks. They billed me for an office copay I was told I shouldn't pay as I only visited the center to get a vaccine. It's taking me over 12 phone calls and 10 months to get this fixed and the dispute remains unresolved. It's pointless to leave a voice message as they never listen to them and be prepared to spend at least 15 min waiting on the phone to be assisted. As for the building, it is quieter clean, they have been punctual and doctors are nice but not helpful when it comes to helping with billing queries. However I'm never coming back.

  • Jaidyn F

RIP OFF They like to add a lot of extra fees at the end of your visit and sneak in extra charges that aren't correct. For one, they tried to charge me for a medication (a shot) that i brought myself and did not get from them. Two, they charge for the administration of a shot which most clinics will not do. They're just trying to make a quick buck off of you. My bill was ultimately fixed, but it took 3 different hour-long calls to get it fixed. It was a hassle and I had to repeat my situation every time I called. There are many clinics and offices in nyc. Dont go to this one

  • olivia buscarino

I have been coming here for over 10 years-I have always thought that they did an OK job-however I have an HMO plan which means I need referrals and it is just an absolute nightmare mess. It’s paperwork-it needs to be filed. I have a bill from a referral that was never filed though I had called (waited forever to get through) and was ASSURED it would be sent before I went for my visit. This has happened SEVERAL times. I don’t know what I’m doing but I bet if I climbed behind the counter and tried to send the referral I could figure it out. Done. Terrible. Bye.

I am a regular patient here and went in today for a flu shot. I tried last week but they had 'run out'. So today they had the serum, and I was advised to 'have a seat'. ONE HOUR later, I was still sitting there. When I inquired, I was told "well, we only have one nurse on duty" This in a major hospital clinic that has many doctors treating patients all day long. Meanwhile, I watched patients get off the elevator, register, get called, treated and leave, and I, along with others there for shots, were all still waiting. I finally just left. This is ridiculous.

  • Susan Agliata

In their quest for cost-cutting Mount Sinai routes all patients to a scheduling call center. This call center cannot even transfer you to the doctor's office, simply send a message. It goes without saying that this is insane, a terrible patient experience, and requires more work to do basic things like....ask a question about an appointment, check what days certain procedures can take place. Mount Sinai CEO Kenneth Davis made $5.6 million in 2019, surely they can afford to spend money where it matters: patience experience and real live human interaction.

I received a message that I missed an appt May 10th - which I didn't. I called to have this removed from my file but the lady refused even if she confirmed that I didnt miss the appt and that they have the results. I find this completly inacceptable behavior and she didn't care at all that their systems are full of mistakes and that I could be double charged for their mistake... the amount of I don't give a s**t from her doesn't give me any confidance that anything I get from this clinic is accurate or reliable.

Unfortunately, over time care has became lesser and more of how many patients to get through the door. After years, I only see the primary physician for seconds (implementing the least care) before dashing out the door. ‘Clickers’ are not an effective way of dealing with patients. The doctor should never be so busy that they cannot attend to a patient. As a result I had to find another primary doctor. If you are looking for a proper physician or a family doctor this facility is not recommended.

  • Nicole Blank

Booked an appointment for the next day with a podiatrist I've seen multiple times over several years. I received a call one hour before my 9am appointment that they needed to schedule an appointment as a new patient, in spite of my repeated visits. (Likely to increase Mount Sinai's revenue). When I called back to reschedule, the next opening was in two weeks. This is not professional, and simply not how you treat customers. I've heard similar horror stories from other patients. Book elsewhere.

  • Mr Sykes

Receptionist gives extreme attitude over the phone and doctors are almost never available. Ran out of medication and tried to request help from the office to be told the doctors “alternate weekends” so someone is always available but only your doctor can help you. Doesn’t make sense. Had to give up primary care here as they kept cancelling appointments for “events” and due to mis-scheduling me when my doctor wasn’t even there. This office obstructs medical care more than anything

  • Milagros Lopez

I've called so many times AUTOMATICALLY placed on HOLD... then disconnected... I finally get thru transferred to another line ONLY got voicemail, left message over 2 weeks ago...still NO CALL it LITERALLY impossible get thru & when you're there the staff lack empathy, compassion, kindness & professional courtesy... will this EVER change I'm going over 2 years & ONLY reason I go is because of Dr. Johnny Arnauk which is BEST reason to go... otherwise CLINIC IS HORRIBLE

  • Hanieh Hashemi

First time I visited there, they were lazy enough and didn't call my insurance charge me 500 for my free annual check up! Had to follow up with them until they finally fix it! Also they had to submit a referral for me, after a month they didn't. I called multiple times no action. I ended up missing my specialist appointment because of them. Irresponsible doctors and staff. Just trust their low rating here and save your time by going somewhere else!

  • Chandler

The doctors themselves are great, but you’ll never be able to reach them or to even schedule an appointment because the receptionists are so terrible. You will be put on hold for an hour and no one will ever pick up. You will be told your doctor will call you back only to find out later they never got a message to call you. You will be transferred 15 times to random people before anyone will help you with even the simplest of tasks. Good luck!

  • Robert Qian

Billing is a nightmare. Disinterested front-line employees who say "We'll take care of your bill, don't worry" results in me receiving multiple bills for hundreds of dollars. Over the course of several weeks of e-mails and phone calls nothing has been resolved. Employees don't have any agency in trying to resolve issues and routinely 'forget' to inform you of all the fees and costs involved in procedures. I won't be returning again.

  • Joanne Woolford

If I could give negative stars I would. My husband just sat in the waiting room for an hour and 45 minutes waiting for the doctor (he continued to ask how much longer the wait would be and ensured they had all of the info they needed$ only to find out THE DOCTOR HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY. So unprofessional - won’t be trusting them for a medical opinion if they can’t even be depended on to stay in the office.

  • Vitalii Zaitcev

Not sure why everyone complaining but my experience was great at this hospital. With 0 hustle I scheduled appointment through ZocDoc app. I came 15 prior appointment, filled out all papers and almost immediately they took care of me. Staff is very friendly and thoughtful. Dr. Arnouk was super professional and helped me. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs orthopedic

  • Lee Kline

After a series of bad medical offices and doctors who couldn’t find the time to return test results, I feel that this office at Mount Sinai is so much better. Dr Alstein is prompt and courteous and gets back to me super fast. Dr Peters is a terrific neurologist who helped me when other doctors couldn’t. The staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this office.

  • Adam Napoletano

Very pleasant doctors, but their billing department is scattered- overcharged multiple times. The phone numbers provided and extensions provided did not reach the specific billing department I needed. “Sorry Dr. X’s billing department has recently changed and we can’t process. Call #”. This ended up in an endless loop of calls, with nobody able to help me.

  • Laurie Turrell

Dr. Komal. AVOID THIS SO CALLED DIVA DERMATOLOGIST. SHE'S A FRAUD. SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE A DOCTOR OR SHE THINKS SHE'S GOD. RUDEST DOCTOR I'VE EVER MET. AND SHE'S JUST HORRIBLE. GET OVER YOURSELF. WE ALL HAVE ADVANCED DEGREES IN NYC. IVY LEAGUE. YOU'RE NOT SPECIAL MS. INDIA. TOTALLY PATRONIZING AND RUDE. NEVER AGAIN. NO TREATMENT WASTE OF MONEY.

  • Jenniffer Cruz

I've been seeing Dr. Chuey for quite a few years. But, his staff is the worse. Such a disgusting experience. My appointment was at 9:15am arrived 10 minutes late and they said that my appointment had been cancelled because of lateness. Really!!!? 10 minutes if someone had not put me on hold for 20 minutes this would have not happened. Horrible.

  • Alexander Tretyakov

I came here 20 minutes early as required for my 2:30 appointment during a work day. The eye doctor, Anne Marie Mcveigh, was more than an hour late, so I waited 1h 20 mins total. Obviously, she can do it because there are no consequences for her. Don't come here if you can. The mask is required, but sorry no soap in restrooms.

  • Zoe Kim

Doctors and staff here are nice, but they’re a little disorganized (getting forgotten in the room, nurses not having the orders they thought they did). Also the reception desk is very exposed so you can hear the full conversation of people checking in & out while in the waiting room. But generally good vibes and on time.

  • Derek Lilly

I think Mt. Sinai has gotten too big for their own good. Customer service and actually trying to see your doctor that you have seen for over 20 years is absolutely ridiculous sometimes. The front desk staff should be fired! Unfriendly, rude, disrespectful, and do not observe privacy or follow HIPPA GUIDELINES!

  • darrin ford

Supposedly open from 8am I rang at 8.30, got through to a msg service and got disconnected. Rang again, no one was answering and was able to leave a msg with an operator who said they'd xall back. It was urgent. An hour later I went to city MD on 14th who were great. Still haven't heard back from Mt Sinai.

  • Traci

I've seen Dr. Mizuguchi at another office and first visited this office on a snowy day. Despite the gross weather, the building was beyond clean and dry. The third floor, where Dr. Mizuguchi and other doctors practice is brand new, with comfortable seating, warm temperatures and friendly staff.

  • Jacqueline Till

I’ve been happy here so far! Doctors have been considerate, caring and easy to reach through phone/ My Chart online. When I came in for a walk-in appointment, the wait was very reasonable. My appointments run on time. I miss my suburban doctors, but the team here is friendly enough!

  • Mauro Gar

Hopefully you don’t ever have to call to schedule an appointment or with any questions because you’ll never get through to anyone. If your lucky to get someone on the line, you’ll just be transfer to a never ending ringing tone. How these people have jobs is beyond me!

  • Mizanur Rahman

Doctors are great. If I was reviewing them, I'd give them 4 or even 5 stars. Nurses who takes the vitals, or the other staff who takes the blood. All great. My issue is with the front staff. To summarize what my wife said: I miss my old doctor and the nicer people

  • Greta Kola

The receptionist Veronica (If I am not mistaken for her name) on the 3rd floor has an attitude, it was my first time here and did not make the patients comfortable which I noticed with another patient as well who was elderly and needed help.

  • Michelle M

The older eastern European receptionist lady is abusive to patients. This happened to me in September 2019 and happened to my partner today in December 2021. Terrible facility. The abuse at the start isn't worth the care at the end.

  • Taylor Nicole Pohlman

Had a vaccine appointment for 5. Almost been an hour now still haven’t received it. I feel bad for the folks behind the counter, but it’s wild how disorganized they seem. There are at least 20 other people here waiting if not more.

  • Antonio D'souza

Great doctors but incompetent/lazy admin staff. I've seen Dr. John Chuey here and he's a wonderful doctor but the admin staff have managed to lose my vaccination records once and always leave me on hold indefinitely when i call.

  • Carlos Rivera

The people who work at the reception desk are very RUDE, I am treated by Dr. Shehebar at this location. Dr. Shehebar is an excellent pain manangement specialist. I would highly recommend his services !!!

  • Kritika Shah

Awful front desk service. They treat you like you are doing them a favor by giving them your business. Unclear instructions on how to check in. No one available to help. Receptionist is was just rude.

  • Lauren T

I’ve seen several doctors here, and they have all been great! Although I wish it was easier to call the office, it is pretty easy to communicate through MyChart, with fairly prompt response times.

  • alan swane

Will not even answer the phones during Business hours! Called for over an hour and kept getting kicked to the answering service. The office was open for over an hour and a half already ?

  • Ben Brooks

I have been here for both covid tests and an urgent care matter. Super impressed with how spotless/clean the facility is. The quality of providers and service level all very good.

  • Becky Hurt

ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR. You are required to send testing to the lab selected by your patient. I've been trying to get a call back from this practice for weeks. DO NOT GO HERE

  • Chyna White

My doctor and all the nurses are great. The front desk receptionists all suck and have major attitude problems both on the phone and during check in.

  • Nathali Then

The worst Dr's , they lack in communication with patients beware of going to this clinic, they deserve no stars. This clinic should be shut down.

  • Tom Hatta

Clean and modern looking building, professional staff. Wait time is perhaps on the longer side (a wait for each person I am supposed to see).

  • Mark Clayton

Excellent service. People taking you in were friendly. Was happy to have a very professional & knowledgeable doctor (Dr. Yarur) to talk to.

  • Brittany Miller Lappano

The doctors are great, but three visits in, the support staff has been consistently disorganized and uncommunicative.

  • Genesis De Luna

Treat me well. The wait is never too long. Treat urgent care patients as they should be. Amazing !!!

  • Donna Talavera

Always a good experience. Clean, very professional. Great doctors and specialists.

  • Linda Isabel

About two hour wait for the eye doctor on a weekday. Not worthy. Not coming back.

  • Michele Rodriguez

The staff at 23rd and doctors all around are wonderful caring and friendly people

  • ADRIENNE

So far so good. Convenient and the staff is always nice when I go there.

  • John Jordan

Very difficult to transact any business by phone. They don't answer.

  • Joseph Murphy

Wait time was long and receptionists were not friendly.

  • mj james

Nobody answers the phones. Just rings than disconnects

  • Kenia Coelho

They are not properly doing the test for COVID.
