"Went to the bakery to get a cake for my parents anniversary"
"I've been to other metro stores"
"I was getting milk on May 31st at about 2:15pm"
"This is my go to grocery store, partly due to the convenience of stopping there after getting off the 20 on the way home from work, but also due to it being able to provide me a one stop shop for everything I need"
"I have been going for 30 years and the staff was always nice, today the cashier was terrible, number 138, very slow and did not know how to fill the delivery paper for the previous client, I asked him why he was so slow and he answered why everybody was in rush today, meanwhile he turned his back to say hi to another customer in the express lane, I told him next time I will go to the Express lane, the cashier had time to serve over 10 people when he did only one"
Went to the bakery to get a cake for my parents anniversary. The server to me it was his first day was being so when I asked them to write "happy anniversary" on the cake he asked for assistance from a coworker. She gave him " a look" and so he tried to figure it out but he was new and I could tell he wasn't sure. Then after approx 15 mins I asked him if it would be much longer and the poor kid apologized for the wait. At this point another bakery server appeared and he spoke to her. Then there was a little annoyance from her ...then after another 7 or so minutes she brought over a clipboard and a pen to me and said nothing. I looked at her and said" I just wanted happy anniversary written please " and wrote it out and handed it back. After another few minutes she started to write on the cake .... The whole thing took me nearly half an hour and all I could think of was how bad I felt for this young guy working in such a toxic environment. My parents loved the cake which is why I gave it 3 stars but the experience was not great . Next time I am just going to the Swiss Vienna pastry shop .
I've been to other metro stores. This one didn't get the same vibe(not taking covid as seriously as others, no sinks, half full bottle of sanitizer by the exit? Empty at the entrance. Others have installed full sinks and more). Also did not enjoy the cashier concentrating more on chatting with her boss? Hand me my receipt all ready? I have to stand here waiting for a conversation on wether the last customer complained about her? This one is now. And at least apologize as the manager when you see me standing there with my hand out waiting. I'm sure with my mask on, you could see I was irritated. Even though your nose was partially out. And please direct customers blocking the exits not social distancing instead of ignoring and letting others wait again... unbelievable
I was getting milk on May 31st at about 2:15pm. I use very little so went for the June 18th instead of June 11th expiry. I got A long lecture from the man stocking the dairy that I should not touch anything to get what I needed. If I needed a later expiry date I had to ask him. He said there had been no Covid cases and he wanted to keep it that way. What about the rest of the store. Was he policing that too? He should listen to the science and not harass customers. I was talked down to and wonder if he would have done the same if I was a man. I'd never been bullied before. Look but don't touch folks! P.s. I just read Andrew's review. By your description it was the same employee who bullied me.
This is my go to grocery store, partly due to the convenience of stopping there after getting off the 20 on the way home from work, but also due to it being able to provide me a one stop shop for everything I need. The atmosphere of the store is warm and inviting, there is a great variety, everything is fresh, and when combined with the Metro&Moi coupons and points program, the quality of products and prices are very good. Update: This Metro location continues to be my primary grocery store and the quality has not changed. For those wondering about safety protocols, all Metro locations have been on-top of the most recent requirements and procedures.
I have been going for 30 years and the staff was always nice, today the cashier was terrible, number 138, very slow and did not know how to fill the delivery paper for the previous client, I asked him why he was so slow and he answered why everybody was in rush today, meanwhile he turned his back to say hi to another customer in the express lane, I told him next time I will go to the Express lane, the cashier had time to serve over 10 people when he did only one. He answered why don't you do that. I never had such a rude cashier. Metro plus 325 blvd St Jean, Pointe Claire.
This has been my regular grocery story for over a decade and I always like going there. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of staples. The produce is always fresh and their deli selections are great for picnic planning. It would be nice to see a broader selection of east- and southeast Asian ingredients, spices and sauces but I can go elsewhere for that.
I love my Metro store. It is clean and very elegant. There is only one little thing that bothers me a little bit...we have many older people and very often living alone who don't consume a lot of food. Why not sell a half of a watermelon or a half of a cabbage? I've seen this in different countries and I really liked the idea...this would minimize food waste and keep people happy.
Bought two pieces of fruit and 3 days later they were growing mold. .someone said they use the same suppler as Adonis and i know they charge more . Fruits were stored in a cool dry place...Stuff will not move if it is too pricey and it's probably cheaper for them to throw it out...sad....probably all do the same. Best to select well and use the same day.
I am begging you , tell your staff to stop touching their hair while they are working . It's the staff under 25 years old and surprisingly it's the boys . Just go in and watch them it doesn't stop . Every dept. even cashiers . It's very upsetting and they are dealing with food . Omg .every single time I'm there. Ridiculous. YOU ARE TOUCHING FOOD.
Love Metro. Nice clean store. They have so many nice things. Wasn’t a big fan of the self checkout at first, hence why I never use it. However, I do understand the appeal. The cashiers are friendly and efficient. I especially love going grocery shopping at night because there are less people. It’s great that the store closes at 10 pm.
Metro is an interesting strategy, much like Loblaws/Provigo they offer value options, complemented by higher quality and premium - the difference is that PC fills that for Loblaws. Not sure all the pricing makes sense, but, the happy to have the options. Probably the best mico beer selection. This location is compact and comfortable.
my go-to grocery list: dairy, 2 milk, 1 raw egg, legumes, 1/2 pound of french cheeses, 1 big onion, 1 little onion (ask employees where little onions hide), hunk of seedless bread, disgusting choco ice cream and 1 nasty little can of cold lentil soup. ask for bag this time, maybe 2, say thank you.
I prefer provigo over metro cus every time I go to metro end up not getting half of stuff off my grocery list it's either out of stock or not getting enough or something and I find expired stuff all the time sitting there like for months NOT ONLY THIS MTERO I AM TALKING ABOUT ALL THE METROSSSS
Your typical neighbourhood grocery store, with a good selection and reasonable prices, but a truly excellent and happy staff. I could shop elsewhere for better prices, but this is my go-to place for a smile and a laugh from a bunch of familiar faces on folks who genuinely feel like friends.
This is a very nice Metro grocer. The staff is helpful and friendly. Metro is more expensive than other grocers, but this location gives you the best experience for your dollar. Pick up a flyer, conveniently located by the entrance, and you will find quality products on sale each week.
Super slow self-checkout, and few human cashiers. Go anywhere else! Self-checkout lists are not sychronized with what's actually available in the store. E.g. self checkout expects you to select from 15 different avocados, when only 3 different types are sold in the store currently.
It is deteriorating in the last 2 years. Service is getting pretty bad. Employees do not know Anything. Wrong prices displayed and when ask for rectification at cash they just told me oh well. It is wrong. They don’t get the concept of misleading price display. Frustrating.
Nicely appointed ,open until 22.00 daily. Has the usual array of produce, & groceries. Meat, fish & bakery counters that are well kept. Seems more expensive than most but has a captive audience of seniors in the area that it serves well ( pick up bus etc.) So guess it's ok
Metro "POINT CLAIRE" personally TO me IS a great place to pick up most of ALL MY needs,, plus I FEEL that THIS place is great for meeting beautiful Asian woman,, I had a great chat with one today... WOW,, SHE had really beautiful eyes...... (STEVE/snake)... …
Courtesy and honesty from my favorite ✨teller and✨ packer. I had a very frustrating day and was not thinking clearly. I was walking out without my change, and the teller gave my money to the packer and he ran me down and gave me the money.♥️ …
Why are employees not wearing masks. I wear one to protect others, why are others not protecting me? I take care of several people and cannot afford to become ill from someone else's carelessness. It's the only way we can all work together to get rid of this virus.
New review on this.. stood around for a good ten minutes while a baker was on his phone, not serving customers. The packaging and processing employees lack discipline and professionalism. Cashiers are worked to the core while the rest sit back and do nothing.
..Always a Pleasure to Go to Metro Plus.!..A Friendly Staff and Good Products to choose from...Pricey Yes...But Worth it in the Long run...Always Busy on the Weekends.!....NOW ..AFTER COVID ..THINGS HAVE CHANGED AND GOTTEN WORSE AND EXPENSIVE... …
By far this is the friendliest and most helpful Metro around. The staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable (hard to find all 3 these days). Shelves are well stocked and organized. Store is also rather clean too. All in all great shopping experience!
The guy who did my deliveries today insulted me because I had only one dollar for tip. I paid my delivery, it was not by free. Now we pay everything by interac, we don't use to have cash. It is the first time that I received somebody so nasty like him.
When I was shopping the janitor was running a propane gas floor sweeper INSIDE the store, filling the air with poisonous propane gas. The machine was seriously loud and disruptive to my shopping experience. I'm never going back to this store.
This grocery store is located in a mall with an eclectic assortment of shops. The store is well stocked to satisfy a variety of tastes and most foodies. While you're there pop down the hallway to the patisserie for some delicious baked goods!
It's a supermarket. They have most of what you want to buy. Prices are okay, sales are good. Fresh produce is okay, if not limited in selection, meat section is good, again look for sales, seafood okay but pricey; pretty good selection of
Was very pleased with some fruit items on sale, but overall the prices have to compete with the Maxi and SuperCs of this overmarketed grocery stores. There is much stores in the west island to shop and receive deals, being good discounts
The store manager who works here on Monday nights is extremely rude. Made my customer experience horrible with his scolding and condescending tone, despite me trying to be friendly. I will not come back and tell others to avoid this store
By far one of the better IGA in the West Island. It's bigger, offers more variety, and spacious aisles not crammed with displays which means you are not bumping into other people and vice versa. I love their selection of baked goods and
Convenient location, friendly staff. Not only groceries, but an array of ready to eat meals. Was recently there and they had a power failure. Thankfully they had generators and people were still able to go ahead at the cash. Thank you!
Not my favorite grocery store but it’s close to home Fresh produce is pretty decent. Organic section is small but decent. Meat and fish is ok but not amazing. Lots of chicken and beef packages have no indication of origin. …
Very clean store. Nice displays. Excellent variety of cheeses, breads, meats, frozen ready made meals and more. The prices are a little on the high side unless it is a weekly special. They offer home delivery by ordering online.
Great selection of beer and great staff at cash! Other than that the prices are terrible! Other than the loss leaders( items sold at a loss to lead you in) it's way to costly. If they price matched I would give a better rating.
X Deli young lady very pleasant...cannot say some for cashier...kept asking how many bags ..the whole whole my husband is the wrapper...!!!! No help in sight!...grocery manager and others replenishing shelves were very nice.
This metro is always well stocked with items and I have almost always found what I was looking for. They could definitely work on employee morale, as in my opinion, the employees rarely smile nor seem particularly happy.
One of three grocers I visited today to find many of the high-quality items I was looking for sold out or perhaps delisted. Supply problems affecting organic, whole foods? Not too many sboppers at mid-afternoon, though.
Good grocery store but on the side of basic especially when it comes to vegetables, bread or fish. Big choice of ice cream and beer though. Service somewhat less pleasant than in Metro Beaconsfield for example.
This store is always a pleasure to shop at. It may be a little pricey compared to the discount grocers but their fresh produce, quality meats and a fine selection of grocery products make it worthwhile.
One of my favorite big name grocery store locations. Clean and always well stocked. Friendly bilingual staff. They have a nice pre made food counter for those days when you just don't feel like cooking.
Friendly staff and Metro's great selection of items are a great combination. Not as overwhelming, as some other grocery stores have become, and that is a good thing for many who shop there.
Great quality and fresh foods, if something is no longer good or looks close to spoilage, staff appear prompt in replacing it. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome each time!
Some people make shopping a treat. Nice takeout counters. Wide spaces. Decorated and nice to look at. Has an upscale feel, without the overprices (mostly). Large parking and easy access.
Greatest overpriced item, we ever seen, How can you afford it, it's a shame metro used too be the best quality for your buck, now it's the opposite, sad for all of us. …
Decent selection, but it definitely caters to the local French population. Most products are only labeled in French. Since it's a grocery store, it's not a very big deal.
The staff here are phenomenal and helpful. The isles are wide and clean so it's easy if you have a wheelchair or carriage. Senior friendly as well as very clear layout.
I've only been there once and it seems like a good store. But what I really like is they take orders and deliver to my mother's senior's residence. Thank you!
Great convenient location. Parking and access to the store is fast and simple.. Great selection of meats and vegetables. Excellent baked and prepared meals.
It's good, great variety. Just don't go around 8 pm, the shelves tend to be empty...especially for meat...except that, i definitely like this store
Great neighbourhood grocery store. This place is pricey but does have deals and a loyalty program. Nice, clean and comfortable place to shop.
My local grocery store. It's small enough to do easy last minute grocery pick up and big enough for food stuff/ brands, local and non local
Standard grocery store. Decent prices on the things we were looking for. Some of the staff were a little grumpy.
The cashier is very helpful to care for a boutique of roses. And even she knows how to sign Thank you …
More people, less machines please. Going to a shopping center is also about meeting cashiers and say hi.
A little pricy but in a good location. Their pre-made deli selections are carried and delicious.
Love this grocery store. But I would like some halal meat. Not just sausage! Thank you :)
A cut above Maxi, slightly pricier, probably some higher quality items, a cleaner store !
Very expensive compared to other metro groceries prices are very high then other places
Very friendly stuff, amazing fruits and vegetables but the prices are a little crazy
Big, clean and offers many items. The employees are friendly and willing to help.
Very nice supermarket but after to bags of groceries and $149 cad! Tooooo pricy.
I shopped here while visiting family. Great selection, good prices, top service.
Great variety. Very clean store. Prices are on the higher side of spectrum.
Place is very clean price are a little high but better quality then maxi
Excellent variety. Good choices for pre-prepared food. Highly recommend.
Great selection, a bit pricey but clean store and dinner ideas galore
Had an item returned, and they were very helpful and understanding.
Efficiant & friendly staff - clean store. open late easy parking
Best supermarket I know of if you want quality, healthy food.
Staff is always friendly, good selection, well stocked.
Great product. Fresh and quality food. Clean store.
Staff are polite and helpful. Plenty of parking
Many lovely shops. The bakery was exceptional.
Clean and friendly, what else do you want?
Always fresh fruits and vegetables here.
Stocked well and quick checkout.
Friendly service, good variety
Great staff and selection
