The only thing that I could find fault with is with Asian grocery store chains carrying Jamaican beef and chicken patties, this store carries a rather small brand that are quite different and not more like traditional Jamaican patties that other Asian grocery stores carry in their freezer sections. Other than that the store is still super clean and super impeccable with fresh veggies and an amazing array of just about everything, as well as their fish section segregated behind the meat so the smell doesn't pour out like many other places that have fish sections. It's a super clean very well organized and well lit giant Asian grocery store and certainly worth a visit. In fact I got lost looking for a Korean barbecue sauce I found there once that was delicious. Of course I was rushing through quickly looking only for my bok choy some sweet peppers a good bunch of celery at a reasonable price looking fresh and crisp, far nicer than anything offered at Costco and celery, and the bananas were great too by the way and then I was out of there except for asking for the ginger candies and some fellow was very helpful and instead led me to the jar full of thin ginger slices which I haven't had in years, so I bought them. I forgot I have them in the fridge actually... Excellent store! .

Wow!! Another large Chinese / Asian supermarket on the island of Montreal, centrally located on Jean Talon and Victoria. With its own spacious parking spaces, this market was quite large with ready food for take out and fresh produce to meat and seafood counters……… Brightly decorated with white walls and some panels thru out. Their weekly flyer has quite a bit of specials and promotional items. Definitely worth a look before entry so you can bundle up necessities with good specials. Worth noting is that since most items are dry and can be stocked in pantry, really need to stock up those food spaces before the price goes up again!!! The only negative is that the food counter is not as well stocked nor well value/ flavour priced compare to CNT in Saint -Laurent. But it’s definitely much cleaners and well organized than the other competing Asian super markets on the island.

Received their flyers in my mailbox, so decided to pay a visit to this new Asian market. Thought the price would somehow be cheaper, but it turns out to be very expensive in most of the vegges and fruits. A box of strawberry is labelled at 8.99 dollars, which is ridiculous and can be easily obtained at most 5 dollars in other stores! Don't know what they are thinking! But they have some items on sale, which is not that bad! Everything seems organized and tidy, and not that crowed probably because it's newly opened! Finally, be aware to keep an eye on your bill! The staffs obviously need more training and can easily charge higher price for the items you buy. They charged me 10 dollars extra by just putting a different code for the celery, but luckily I found out before I left and got it refunded!

Marche Newon (Jean-Talon), located near Namur metro and across from the recent condos development, is a BIG asian grocery place. There’s a section for every asian type of food: Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Japanese etc. Prices are very reasonable and there are many opening specials. Great fruits and vegetables section with a butcher for all your meats need in the back. Also has a live seafood section which hasn’t been stocked up yet, no lobster or live fish in sight. There’s a massive frozen food section with dumplings, seafood, meats, and others. There is what looks like a prepared food spot near the entrance which hasn’t opened yet. Hopefully, there will be some baked goods and prepared meals soon. I can’t imagine walking in and coming out empty handed, there’s always something for everyone.

Open since I believe it was March of 2021, this great huge wonderful grocery store a greater range than just Asian products only, although there is absolutely tons of that. There is some West Indian food and some other seasonings and stuff as well. There's a humongous selection of just about everything you'd ever dream of. The lighting is great and the space in the aisles is more than sufficient and the staff I found to be very helpful and everything is beautifully clean. They have the fish specialty place as well and it's in the nook behind a sort of door opening behind the meats I think it was so that any fish odors are minimized. A definite place and it has some of the heart to find powders spice brands that I really appreciate too. Definitely High recommendations. .

Avoid this store. The cashier I encountered today was rude and unprofessional. She literally threw away glass bottles of sauces after scanning, causing one cap flying off the bottle. When I pointed that out, she at first pretended she didn't hear me. After I repeated, she accused me of making the cap loose before getting to check-out and refused to apologize. Just as mentioned in other comments, many cashiers in this store treat mandarin-speaking customers disrespectfully and like throwing away their items after scanning. They tend to be nicer to Cantonese-speaking and white people. This is very frustrating and disturbing. If it happens to me again, I will consider filing a complaint with the Tribunal des droits de la personne (the Human Rights Tribunal of Quebec ).

Very clean Market with a great selection of goods and good prices. Five stars for the selection. The prepared foods are also very good, but you just have to get there early while they're fresh. Unfortunately they have this stupid policy where the shopping carts require a coin deposit. For this I give it one star. No other markets are doing this still in this area and if you do not happen to have change in your pocket it makes it extremely difficult to buy a sizable quantity of goods. So for this I'm giving it three stars. Five for selection cleanliness and prices, one for this awful policy of the coin operated shopping carts. I hope that they might heed this advice and change the policy in that case I would gladly change to five star review.

Huge, clean, fresh fruits and vegetables that’s why we always go there since it’s a walking distance to our place. We even recommended to our friends but unfortunately I’m not happy with the staff at the front desk. I lost my gloves yesterday at the store so I informed at the front desk incase someone would returned it, i will come back and get it. The next day i came back to her and asked in a nice way but harshly said ‘ oh, this is your second time to ask, i told you we did not find it! She can tell in a nice way specially a lot of people on the next counter and heard her in a high voice. They should also learn to respect! I do understand if she is busy but she is not with any costumer nor at the cash but at the desk writing.

  • Appolo P

Very clean and very spacious. I go there maybe twice a month after work. By reading some of these negative comments, one for example, no pita bread and bagels, just goes to prove how some people are. This is an Asian grocery store, don't expect pita/bagels in a Asian grocery store. Don't expect Italian deli-meats in an Asian grocery store. Capeesh!!! Why have grocery items that don't sell, pita and bagels are not a big sellers in an Asian grocery store. And BTW, where did this person go to buy pita or bagels before this place was open? If you want stale pita bread or stale bagels, go to near bye Walmart, People, you can't have everything under one roof. Keep up the good work Marche Newon.

  • Ethan Yang

The people at the cooked food counter are absolute lunatics. Packager 1 was eating while I came and asked for a General Tao and Soja Chicken. He stuffed a container of General Tao and didn’t bother with the Soja Chicken right next to him because it “wasn’t his job.” He kept staring at us while we were waiting there for the other packager to come out. Packager 2 came out after 6 minutes and many bell rings and stared straight in my eye for 1 minute like an absolute psycho. It’s disgraceful. These people should not be working. 2 old Asian men One with a buzz cut One who’s skinny and wrinkled with a Chinese “novice” cap

  • NEIL HENRIQUES

I do not like a few thing one some items do not gave a price but a code and only when you come to the cashier you know the amount. They do not have some Indian spices like hing called asafoetida . They do not have Shah Jeera key ingredients for making Biryani. They have packets for Biryani but that is different. They should have a price scanner in the store. They do not get Have a fish called Bombay duck they had the dry one but cannot find it now. Want the fresh Bombay duck. Staff and cashiers do not speak English or French. Atleast English would be good because of the area.

  • Marcelo Casipit

A new store in the block - an alternative place to buy fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, and other needs. The place is very clean (being new) and spacious. There's an abundant inventory of all that the store sells. There are several products from other asian countries that are also available here. There are weekly especially discounted items that can be stocked in order to save. Although, there's just a fair number of free parking spaces, it is highly recommended.

  • Guillermo Luna

I bought their "California Garlic" but, this type of garlic they sell seems to have been just given the name California Garlic as the base of the garlic is clean of roots, unlik the garlic from California and Spain. Moreover, their "California Garlic" does not smell the same aroma as the garlic from California or from Spain that I normally buy from other stores. These garlics are from China! I'd appreciate any feedback from others on this. Thanks.

  • Vagart Me

Went to this store. I see there is no Pita Bread and no Bagels. I told the "manager" that they should have Pita Bread and Bagels, I was simply ignored like yea yea yea. I go Plaza CDN, Fu-Tai Chinese store, they have Pita bread and Bagels, also very good prices on everything. Marche Newon lose hundreds of customers because they don't have Pita and Bagels, also the staff in charge are arrogant. That is a fact. That is BAD.

  • Barry

Nice, clean East Asian grocery store. Lots of different meat and seafood items. You can also find fresh produce and a good selection of snacks. In addition to Chinese and Japanese items, they also carry Indian snacks and frozen foods. Ample parking in the lot, and close to buses and Namur metro station. I would give it 5 stars if they had a fresh baked goods section like some of the other Asian markets.

  • Induk Lee

Location, location, location! This Asian grocery is huge, clean, and proximity to metro station and decarie highway. Large parking lot is also available in front of the store. Variety of exotic Asian groceries and items at reasonable price. Well organized and aisle were very clean. Great place for Asian grocery shopping. Hope this store can withstand long term even after T&T opens up not far from here.

  • Kathy Phung

Very convenient location, near metro for those in public transport and next to highway 15 for those who drives. Inside is very clean and organized. You can find a variety of products for any type of cuisine. The reason for the 4 stars is the limited parking spots, as the lot is shared with other businesses. Went there on a Saturday morning and the parking was packed. Took 10 minutes to find a spot!

  • Xianming ZHANG

the service at the meat section is awful. Normally when there are not many customers, the staffs there were doing something else, letting customers waiting for a few minutes even they notice customers are waiting before coming to serve. Today as usual, i experienced the same but after waiting there for a few minutes, the staff went to serve others who came after me. Won't waste time there anymore.

  • Nicholas Proulx

Amazing selection on fruits and vegetables of all types ! Regular isles are mostly split by region (chinese, Indian, Japanese, etc.) products and offer a good amount of choice. Cashier area is a bit cramped and no one seemed to care about the item limits so there was no way to pay quickly when I had only a couple of items to buy. No bags, but they keep boxes from produce delivery

  • Jaylord Bartolay

I like this grocery store other that the other grocery store in my area. Fruits and veggies looks fresh. Lots of frozen items. Inside has a good space, it's not cramped like the other store. Price is ok, no complaint about that, however...... What's missing is fresh seafood and that's the reason I only give 4 stars but overall I think it's a better grocery store to shop.

  • Amanda R

The store is good but just be careful. They charge you more at the cash. Let’s say you buy those veggies at the bottom and it’s clearly written 1.99$, the cashier will charge you the regular price of 4.99$. It’s written in BIG, and they’ve made this error plenty of times. Also, they discount their goods when it’s expired. So be careful when you things from here.

  • Tony Nguyen

At this place, you can find mostly anything that you can think of in an Asian grocery store. From fine herbs to exotic fruits, from Asian food cans to smaller/bigger dried food or other items. Plenty of parking spaces. Prices are slightly higher than other smaller Asian grocery stores or in China Town. But at least you don't have to deal with parking or traffic.

  • daniel russo

So happy this store opened. So many imported Asian products that were hard to find here in Montréal. Also great vegetables, fruits and desserts I am excited to try. The place is clean and organized, well lit and professional employees. Loved they had many frozen products that looked amazing. Can't wait to come back and get more delicious produce

  • Andrew

Be careful, a lot of the items sold here are expired or molded...I used to come here for groceries. But after a number of purchases of molded fruits, molded tofu, expired snacks, and expired cooking oils. I decided to choose other places. The store should be reported to health agencies before reselling groceries.

  • Angela Liu

Love this store! Store has a whole variety of Asian snacks, foods, and fresh foods and meats. The prices are very reasonable and staff is so sweet! Not only is their Asian snacks but, there are other equipment and tools used for everyday daily usage. Love this store and its variety! Would def come back!!

  • J.Y. Zhang

A recently opened branch of the store near Concordia with the advantage of being cleanest, most spacious of all Chinese supermarkets on the island I've been to. Like its St-Catherine street counterpart, there's a surprisingly large selection of South Asian ingredients and Chinese frozen foods.

  • Sam Ganjavi

This supermarket has a variety of international cuisine's ingredients at a very good price. They also have a good selection of meats at a very affordable price. If you spent sometime discovering their product you may find interesting delights.. for me it is their Japanese cheesecake

  • LA Rey

Nice selection of groceries! 3/5 cooked food counter. Can't speak for the roast meats, but all the other stuff was just very mediocre quite expensive for the quality received. Prefer the cooked food counter at fu thai. Won't be coming back for the food counter. Nice service though.

  • Edward Phillip (Phil)

Love this place... i was really impressed with the wide selection of products from around the world... the place was very clean and well organized... not to mention the meat and seafood section... everything at great prices and even cheaper than most stores for certain things...

  • Imane Erriq

This store is biig and has a LOT of stuff. If you are someone like me who gets carried away in stores then come with a list or you'll find yourself buying a lot of stuff. ( I don't regret it though, everything I tried so far was amazing). 10/10 one of my favorite asian markets.

  • Fei Deng

This place is really great. The store is pretty big and everything is spread out nicely and clearly labeled. The prices are some of the best I've found at any of the Chinese groceries I've been to. This is definitely my new favorite Chinese grocery store.

  • Udayan Verma

I visit this mainly for fruits and vegetable varieties u dont get at one place and esp for this price. Too many options. A big shop. Some how the price is bit exaggerated. Could have been 10-15% Cheaper. The only drawbag is not too options for organic.

  • Elana Podvalniuk

Nice to have an Asian store closer to the west Island. Good selection although on the pricer side than other comparable stores and not as complete as c&t for instance in terms of suaces. But it is smaller, so...Overall good shopping experience.

  • Manuel Silva

One more Asian supermarket, mostly Asian product, if you are a lover of Asian cuisine you will probably find the Asian ingredients you nee to cook Asian, however found their fruits and vegetables quiet expensive. Free parking facing the store.

  • Ricardo Sibaja

Good, the variety of goods are incredible amazing, lots of fish and Asian products for real, BUT, I think it's too expensive maybe it's because of the place (looks fancy) and the quality of products are a little bit higher than the standards

  • PHOOD KRITTIK

Bought a couple fruits. Raspberries were $5 for a small container and not one without fungus. Called the store several times no one answered. Giving 2 stars cuz of the variety of food. However fresh grocery sadly not a good experience.

  • Thth Ng

Large and clean grocery store. Bought 3 different times the bag of 4 litre milk, they all went bad on the third bag. Same with other fruits, it gone rough. Please careful check the bag of milk before you buy them at that grocery store.

  • Quentin Tigé (이경택)

Big asian mart with good selection (Mainly chinese products, but also some Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Indian products). The aisle organization can be a bit awkward however, making it hard to find what you are looking for

  • Sathya Prabha Girish

Great variety in terms of produce and ingredients from Asia. However, their produce quality has been declining. I found bugs in a bag of bok choy and mold in packaged flatbread. Such a shame because I was excited about the variety.

  • Afzal Sheikh

I visited the store for the last time, it appears that the store has all different types of food fruits, vegetables, groceries and daily use items. Inside of the store is very spacious and ease of access. You can have sweet mango.

  • A

Large Asian supermarket nicely stocked with varieties of exotic fruits, herbs, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, rice, tea… Descently priced as well (which could also be because they just opened. I will update if this changed over time.)

  • Choo Julia

As a fruit lover, this place is heaven. That even have a special just for exotic fruits transported by air like bell fruit, durian, longan, etc. Every time I visit, there will be something that’s new to me and makes me wanna try.

  • Michael T

Huge place with a lot of variety of fresh exotic fruits and asian veggies. But, after half hour, can't find something very attractive to buy. The hot plates section is selling old and dry out foods of the day.

  • Enigma's Tablet

Very impressed with the vast amount of stock items! The food bar is good just know what you want, the lady serving doesn't like to have her time wasted..lol but with so much choice, it takes time... lol

  • Fluffy

Great selection here they also have hot items to go. I tried there crispy pork and there duck if you don’t wanna go to Chinatown just to get some good meat or snacks would recommend to check this place out

  • Nikhil

Large store with many South East Asian food items and South Asian (Indian) food items as well. But the smell / stench inside the store is horrible. It is a smell of either meat or fish. Large parking area.

  • William Zhao

Everything you want for asiangroceries, probably you can find here. Huge selection of asian food, some items i haven't found in Canada for years. clean and spacious, not like other asian grocery stores.

  • Alanna Albert

OMG. This is by far one of the best, cleanest and well stocked Asian markets that I have been to in Montreal. Prices are ok. Not cheap but not expensive. If you like Asian foods this is the place to go.

  • Mary Li

Always got a lot options of snacks and spices plus fresh good with good prices. Employees are nice and welcoming. The cashier helped me package my stuff and it's a very good experience. Recommended!

  • Chujie Wan

Machr Newton gives the neighborhood/community another opportunity to find lots of Asian foods, vegetables, fruits …. Spacious and clean. Convenience to access and many parking lots. Love BBQ there.

  • Ghassan Al-Sumaidaee

To be honest, I will never go to this market again. The staff are very tough in dealing with the customers. Also, the prices are very expensive and this is evident and clear on all the products.

  • Sam Rizkallah

Excellent products. Always fresh fruit and displayed in a very clean environment. Seafood and meat are of great quality and fresh. You can buy live fish and crabs. I enjoy shopping at Newon.

  • Vanessa Perez

The place has a wide variety of selected Asian products as good deals. It's a pretty big store and I enjoy the space. It's not as popular as Kim Phat, but it's good to get buns and noodles.

  • Jericho Philip Lao

Lot of options. Comparible to Marche Futai in an plaza CDN. Good parking space and close to the store. They dont allow you to take out the push carts though. Their meat section is not busy

  • Eric Engel

Really nice people, great prices and such a variety of products. Not restricted to one culture at all...the fresh food is amazing and so is the chicken. Favorite new place for sure

  • Alexander Yu

Nice clean place. Large Asian grocery store. Some stuff is higher priced but generally quality is better. They have some great Jack fruit peeled. Also love their meat section.

  • Gail Mac

They had everything I needed. Very helpful staff. Alot of fruits/veggies I haven't seen in a long time, too! And the prices are very affordable. They even sell meat! Lol!

  • m.r. mata

I like the place bacause they have a variety of korean food(that I love!) and all other asian food and condiments. Now they also have a stall for cooked food. Awesome!

  • Team Sunshine

Double check your receipt before leaving the store. Some of the price of the products displayed on the shelves does not match when you pay at the cashier. Be careful!

  • Mnmsd

One of the guy in the meat section never wears gloves while touching meat. And he always chewing toothpick when serving people. Just disturbing and disgusting

  • Catherine

Lots of variety of products to choose from. Great selection and interesting prices $$ when on special. My new favorite place to do my groceries nowadays.

  • Arctic Hawk

BBQ pork is really good! Arguably, I have been to every shop in Montreal & I can honestly say, Newon holds the title for best BBQ pork as of this time.

  • Vasyl Pelikh

Big, spacious place. No clutter. Clean. Displays are a bit strange, but you will get used to it. Suggest you to go there first to accommodate yourself

  • Willowspritew W

Loved their cooked food section. Wish their st. Catherine branch had one. One of the things I find missing in that area is a Chinese rotisserie.

  • Lourdes Gonzales

Huge place and many variety of Filipino snacks, love Korean food and snacks as well. Wish the store will import more Korean and Japanese food.

  • M “K”

Deals are okay and the store is clean. The BBQ section is now open however they precut stuff so unsure if it's fresh from today or yesterday.

  • peter drouin

Spacious and comfortable shopping. Prices are not highly competitive, but the clean and abundant amount of choice makes it worth visiting.

  • J G

On 12 Jul 2023 bought a pack of noodles with best before date 13 Aug. Opened it and the noodles got mildew. Do not buy at this store !

  • Julia

It is bigger than sheng tai marche. It has many kinds of Asian food and seasonings. I think you can get anything you want as an Asian.

  • Michael Ricciardi

nice place to get oriental/international products. For the regular stuff you can get at other grocery stores, a little more expensive

  • George Leeds

Prices are low. There's usually produce marked down as well. The guys working on the floor are kind and usually very helpful.

  • King “king” Fadrix

New in the block. Vast variety of asian products. Cheaper compared to other asian supermarkets(imho) clean and no foul smell.

  • John Ho (siuyiuji)

A lot of choices in Chinese and Asian food. I like especially the varieties of sweet potatoes (one of my most favorite food).
