Blamed two teenage girls of theft, followed through store, and “banned from this establishment”. Yesterday afternoon my friend and i visited Main Street after school, just to grab a bite and look around at the shops. We passed by Welk’s and decided to have a look inside, as my friend had never been before. We didn’t pickup a basket upon entry, as we had just planned on browsing. After wandering through the first couple isles, we saw the water bottles. My friend and I decided to grab a couple to take a look. We each settled on one, so I put then in my friends reusable Bagu tote bag. I stayed at that end of the isle checking out other items, and my friend went to look at the lunch containers. Moments later the manager approached her. He asked her to use a shopping basket rather than her bag. From the end of the isle, I could hear a condescending tone. I had never heard of this strict no bag policy. She took the cart respectfully, thanked him as we didn’t see the baskets upon entry, we then continued our shop. We soon noticed staff lurking around us, leaving us with discomfort, and confusion. We felt uncomfortable, leading us to put the bottles back on the shelf. This experience was becoming no longer enjoyable, we felt no freedom to browse. The water botle aisle led us to the exit. My friend and I walked with the basket in hand, as we were gonna put it in the basket pile on the way out. The manager was once again standing at the end of the aisle, waiting for us. He abruptly took the basket from my friends hand, and proudly announced we were no longer welcome in this store. I asked with confusion “why”, he simply responded “you know why, I shouldn’t have to explain myself”. This man raising his voice at two teenage girls was incredibly unprofessional. I proceeded to ask why he was making us leave (he was signalling his head and pointing at the door). He pointed to the exit and said “the door is right there. Leave. You are no longer welcome to this establishment, go find your things elsewhere”. I expressed I had been coming here since I was young. Throughout all my visits to the the store, I had always used a tote bag to hold onto my goods while shopping. The workers at the store were never remarkably nice; but the variety of goods always brought me back. The times prior I had visited Welk’s, I had been with guardians, or had been dressed more “put together” (typical going out for the day clothes?). On this occasion I had just came from a long day at school. I strongly believe it is disgusting to judge someone by their appearance. And do believe this was the case. You don’t know peoples stories or money situations. You never saw me or my friend put anything in our bag after you handed us a shopping cart. You had no right to assume we were shop lifting. Since you were clearly under this assumption, you could’ve gone about it in other ways. It would have been very easy to pull us aside to talk. My friend and I both struggle with anxiety (upon other things) and you don’t know the effect an event like this could/did have on us. You chose to make a scene. Very unprofessional. After exchanging a few more words with the manager, my friend and I left. I called my mum in distress, as I was confused and had never been in a situation like this before. My mum later called, and asked to speak to management. He denied ever asking us to leave. Later in the phone call he mentioned he did “ask us to leave”. This man’s story kept changing. He said he had video proof of us stealing, but then refused to share with my mum. He would not give her his name or information. It’s upsetting to think this is the behaviour of a grown man, who manages a store. In this phone call he brought up that he deals with events similar very often. This is how you deal with them? Own up to your actions, It’s the least you can do. You did not have to “ban” my friend and I from your store; as we will not be returning. Do better.

I really like Welks, they are a fun and hip little store full of great products. Though my experience today has changed my view of the store. I was interested in an enamel mug that had two price tags, one saying $12.99 and the second saying $15.99 both with the same skew that was correct for the product. I kindly asked a gentleman who worked there why there were two prices. As he was trying to figure out why, a young lady who also worked there stopped and pulled the price tag of $12.99 from the shelf and said that they had to pay more for this current shipment and Welk's current price for the item is $15.99. I asked if they would honor the price of $12.99 this once, she replied with "we would be losing money" and walked away. The kind gentleman looked at me and said "well I guess that answers it" and proceeds to walk away. My stomach sank and put back the other items I was going to purchase and left the store. There was no thank you for pointing their error and allowing them to correct it for other customers, no kindness when explaining their reasoning for the price difference and just overall poor customer service. I'm still in disbelief.

One of the best general stores I have ever visited! Very helpful, friendly and dedicated employee. I changed my mind like three times about purchasing a Cilantro plant, but she was totally fine with it. She even kept the plant that I chose in a separate area that I can easily find it after changing my mind! Various goods from gardening to cookwares and household items. Most items are from well-known brands, not just random brand out of nowhere. Everything is very reasonably priced. Unlike other stores, they provide the best quality stuffs you can have and most innovative things you can never think of. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s just fun to go around and take a look at their stuffs. Some very normal items like a towel can really catch your attention with its intriguing kitty patterns. Every aisle always has something to make you stop to take a look. However, the least cool aisle is the food aisle, as you can also find the food anywhere. But overall, really fun place to go shopping :). Definitely recommend!

The perfect place to find a unique gift for that artsy friend who seems to have all the cool, weird stuff from who knows where. Coffee? Welk’s is one of my favourite Vancouver stores. A great selection of GOOD coffee home brewing equipment, with new items appearing all the time. Yes they can(dle) I have recently discovered they carry a excellent selection of candles that don’t smell like your grandmas perfume. Many brands are local to the vancouver area, with an attention to decor and natural ingredients. Looking for plants? Welk’s also has a regularly changing variety of plant life and different pots to place said plants in. If you just moved to Vancouver, come here first for your decor accessories. Getting someone a card? They even have locally designed and created cards that will tell your loved ones you care enough about them to find them something unique and not from Walmart or the gas station.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews… Anyways, I saw an item with a good price on their website and decided to go into the store to make the purchase. When I arrived, I found the item but it didn’t have a price tag, so I asked the cashier if their online prices were the same as in store, which she said yes. When checking out, the item was more expensive than their website. The same cashier called over a manager, who told me that the prices are different and I could order it online but I’ll be hit with a lot of added fees. I mentioned that I asked the cashier about the prices and that she had confirmed that it was the same. She argued back that I didn’t show her the price. Well, she never asked! I had the screen ready on my phone while asking her in the beginning, but she never cared to look! Don’t be fooled by their low online prices… it seems like bait to lure you into the store. Fool me once…

Welk’s is one of those places where every time I go in I find something new. I would call it a general store and more. First time, saw the kitchen pots/pans in the window and thought it was for kitchen goods, but once inside went wandering the aisles for a good 30 minutes. A few things I can definitely recommend-the maple syrup/hot sauces, the cocktail shelves (if you are into mixing drinks, they have an amazing selection of Canadian and international bitters), the coffee, and the chocolate (often on sale) found around the checkout. There is also a section at the front without a sign that is mostly textiles and plant/flower related. This visit we left with two Seattle Chocolate Truffle bars, a bag of tortilla chips, some glycerin soap, and a microplane grater. A great store to get lost in for a while. I cannot resist stopping by whenever I am in the area. Daniel

Manager was extremely unprofessional. He was very condescending and rude when he suggested I use a shopping cart instead of my reusable tote bag and proceeded to have workers follow my friend and I around the store. We eventually decided to not buy anything due to us feeling uncomfortable and that we were being followed. As we walked down the isle the manger stood at the end of the isle and took the cart from me, he then caused a scene by yelling us to leave and "banning" us from the store. My friend calmly informed him that she's a loyal shopper and she would like an explanation he was very rude and didn't want to explain himself and kicked us out. Her parents then called the store for further explanation and he was disrespectful and would not give his name and denied having any sort of altercation with us.

This is such a cool general store and I haven't seen anything else like it recently. They have an array of different products and carry everything from kitchenware to plants. It is one of those stores you can browse over and over again and find useful things that you want to buy. For example last time I noticed they have some extremely high quality lunch bowls that look like they would stand the test of time compared to traditional Tupperware. The staff have always been friendly and helpful if you have a particular need. They have specials and items that go on sale for good deals and in general just offer a fund and enjoyable shopping experience.

  • Nikki Arasaki

My favourite store to browse. I don't recommend going here if you're in a rush because there's too much good stuff to check out! This used to be a generic dollar store, but they underwent a brilliant rebranding (or change in management) a few years ago to offer exceptionally high quality and fun everyday products. Lots of natural skincare, candles, zero waste products, non-toxic baby products, cool boardgames...really, anything you can think of for your home. They even carry my favourite organic West Coast Seeds for growing my own sprouts in a mason jar. I find myself here a couple times a month.

  • Yuan Yuan

This general store is one of my favourite stops in Vancouver, it has an excellent, well-curated selection of everything you could want in a general store. Despite being a tiny fraction of the size of a Target, I can always find stuff here that I can't find anywhere else except on the Internet. German-made cooking spoons? Check. Command hooks the likes of which you've never seen? Check. Multiple brands of silicone replacements for plastic zip-top bags? Check. Door handles? Check. It's epic and I only mourn that I don't live in Vancouver, so I can't haul back most of what I want.

  • Christine Evans

I buy everything here. EVVVVVERYTHING. I buy my underwear here. It really is a little general store, but one that is curated by someone with much better taste than you. As with all Main St shops, some things here are ridiculously cheaper than you'll find elsewhere; other things, not so cheap at all. Definitely fills the "this area of Main St doesn't have a hardware store" gap nicely. Employees are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it but based on how slammed it is on weekends, everyone in the city already knows about it.

  • Jen

Restore is one of my favourite places on Main Street and in Vancouver period. It's the perfect place to find a gift, or to just browse for something to do. They sell a little bit of everything and everything on their shelves is very thoughtfully curated. Would recommend Welks to anyone and everyone. My only complaint is that quite a few staff at the til are not particularly friendly or helpful. Sometimes I feel like I'm an inconvenience just going to pay for my goods. Rarely a hello or a thank you.

  • Reese Rahman

Love this cozy little general store! The products here are very high quality stuff and the people working here are so helpful and nice! Walked into this store randomly one day and was amazed at all the wonderful products they were selling. They even carried this super fun board game, Dixit, which I played with family and friends. The price is also great. Great value for your money. Would recommend to everyone and I definitely see myself coming back to this place! Keep up the great job!! A++++

  • Callie Service

A go-to for stocking stuffers, random gifts for co-workers, stationary, teas, kitchen gadgets, plants, gardening equipment, natural foods, and SO MUCH MORE. It's impressive the variety they fit into such a small space, but they manage to keep it from feeling like a crowded dollar ($1.25?) store. They have a great selection of little succulents (think: inexpensive "thoughtful" gifts), and during the spring/summer have a really interesting array of vegetable, herb, and decorative garden plants.

  • Caro T

Welk's is a quaint store where you can find everything, from canned wild tuna to coconut sponges, cast-iron pans and gardening tools. They have incredible deals on some foods and cleaning products. I get all my greeting cards there. Jigsaw puzzles, baking molds, garbage bins, welcome mats, soaps, plants, coffee beans, organic shampoos, honey, mugs, books, chocolate, peanut butter, note books, toothpastes, toys, this convenient store is a treasure trove for everyone, every taste at any age.

  • Christopher C

I love this store. It's unique and has great practical items and gifts. The product line leans towards boutique / hipster / organic / healthy living. It's my go to place when I need something funky or of better quality. Customer service isn't stellar but it gets the job done efficiently enough. Imagine it akin to going to Home Hardware but receiving Canadian Tire service. You know what I mean. I still give it 5 stars though, because I simply can't get enough of it.

  • Natalie Palomo

Great store! I found my favourite hot sauce that I haven’t been able to find in Canada before. It would’ve been a better experience if the cashier didn’t shame me for wanting to BUY a paper bag. I’m sorry, I didn’t feel comfortable walking all around Main St with a bottle of hot sauce, organic tampons, and socks that I had purchased. I usually carry a reusable bag with me but I forgot this time. I found it rude that I had to justify my need for a bag….

  • Ashley C

The best general store in the neighbourhood! My first stop for pretty much everything from everyday kitchen items to food/drinks to small hardware items to toys and games. Love that they carry lots of items from local suppliers as well as specialty products. It's always fun browsing the aisles, there's always something new and fun and I rarely leave empty handed. Particularly great selection of cocktail mixers (bitters, shrubs, etc) and hot sauces.

  • Kristin Kimiko Dorey

Every single time I come here, I do so with a purpose. Within two seconds of being in the store, however, I have forgotten that purpose and picked up 13 other items. This store has an incredibly wide range given the store's size. They have everything from locally made popscicles, to plants, to kitchen accessories, to kids books and toys. And the quality of the goods they carry is really amazing. I highly recommend supporting this independent shop.

  • J G

One of my favourite stores to visit on Main Street. Great place to go if you’re looking for a unique and/or practical gift. Lots of natural/organic products. Had a wonderful customer service experience there recently. I bought a gift card for a friend, but when we went back to use it there was a error on the card. They apologized and managed to fix the problem, as well as adding another 10$ on the card. Would definitely recommend!

  • Octavio Rodriguez

Very cool housewares store on Main. So many items condensed in a relatively small area, and yet, it doesn't feel overwhelming. Incredible selection, you will find something you didn't think you needed in every aisle, and then you realize you did need that article, come find for yourself... Prices for some items might be a bit higher than regular retail in some cases, but convenience more than makes for that difference.

  • Jessica Fung

One of my favorite stores in Vancouver! They often have sales on Dr. Bronners castil soap which makes it the cheapest place to get it. Cute hipstery items with a huge collection of swell water bottles! They sell all the Badger brand products and have a lot of other organic /natural personal care products. It's also a great place to buy gifts! Wonderful store, you will find something you love here.

  • nicole

Perfect neighbourhood everything store. Kitchenware, games, books, plants, travel mugs, snacks, candles, hardware, cleaning supplies, deodorant, and a variety of cocktail bitters. They literally have a bit of everything, including niche items. Can get quite claustrophobic with loads of people and narrow isles on the weekends. Recommend coming by on a quiet morning to really peruse all the great items!

  • Kate Holley

Favourite shop ever!!! I could browse in here forever - literally every aisle has 10 million brands (usually natural, organic, local etc) you’ve never seen before to peruse: cookware, soaps, candles, cleaning supplies, food (cabinet staples like pasta and dried goods as well as some refrigerated goods - mostly vegan friendly!), home hardware, plants and books - what more could you want from one store.

  • Ross Judge

I like Welk's and have been going there for years, and will probably continue going there, but, it used to be a place for good deals and unique stuff. The prices are now average and you can actually find the same products for cheaper at other stores. I don't buy as much as i used to there, but the store still packs a punch and has a good variety of stuff, so i give them 4 Stars - Just !

  • A Scott

A super cute everything store (kitchen goods, beauty/hygiene products, books, gift wrap, etc). It has the feel of a dollar store, but with name brand products. It's very reasonably priced, products are great quality, and it's packaged in a very aesthetically pleasing way because of the prior two. Highly recommend checking it out if you're nearby... Or if you feel like "treating yoself"

  • Gillian

I know I am going to be one of many reviews but this place is the bomb! Everything is super affordable, lots of stuff is cheeper then Amazon or any of those mega corporations and there is everything you might want and more. Such a great store for presents that actually get used. Also love their wide selection on cooking and kitchen supplies - whoever is the buyer bravo!

  • DD Store

Just a fun place to shop at. A great general store and it also has a great selection of plants. They are well priced and healthy so they go fast when they get them in but they are beauties. They also carry a good selection of local and smaller batch goods which I love to always check out. And you can almost always find what you are looking for in their kitchen section.

  • Hilary Todd

Welk’s is awesome. Whether you’re looking for a gift, a snack, a new plant, a kitchen appliance, or a fun game, Welk’s is your place. My favourite Welk’s purchase has definitely been one of the awesome ‘Stranger Things’ magnets they sell...that and my Chemex coffee pot. Check this adorable general store out if you’re in the neighbourhood!

  • Jackie Chow

Great little discount store on Main st. From cooking utensils to cleaning supplies to coffee bodums and children's books they have a huge selection. Prices are usually better than other major retailers for same products. For example, parchment paper is $2 cheaper than superstore for the same brand. Just remember it's not a dollar store.

  • Terri A

If you come in expecting a dollar store you will either be disappointed, or thrilled. Welk's has quirky, trendy, quality items and a matching price point. This is a great place for last minute gifts! It can get very cozy during busy times as the aisles are quite narrow, so check the activity level on Google to make sure you'll fit.

  • M Ridout

I love this shop. It's one of my favorite shops in the lower mainland. They have the best customer service in the area. They even brought our plants to the car. They have everything here .... Soaps, kitchenware, huge selection of boardgames, unique socks, dishcloths.etc Basically everything and more you need in a general store!

  • Jason Read

Need some salad tongs? How about some bamboo fabric underwear? Tomato seeds? Settlers of Catan game? Ice cube tray which makes cubes in the shape of luchador masks?! If you want a thing and your not sure where to get it, this place is a solid bet. When they say general store, they mean it. They sell, generally, everything.

  • Bianca Chan

Welk's sells practically everything one would need but at a cheaper if not the lowest prices in the city. Little known fact is they carry the largest selection of s'well bottles around! No need to go to chapters. Used to be a bit dingier but recent renovations have made the shopping experience far more enjoyable.

  • Graham Bingham

It's hard to put in to words what this store is like. It really must be experienced. A treasure trove of things for your home. Kitchen, storage, office, apothecary, plants, books, seeds, organic and vegan grocery products, and so more! My family and I make it a destination to shop once a month or more. Love it!

  • Frank Karabotsos

Welk’s never fails to disappoint with their great selection of things you didn’t know you needed (spherical ice cube trays), things you’ve needed for a while but haven’t found anywhere (appliance bulbs) at cheaper than Amazon prices (except for books). Also has an amazing selection of cocktail supplies.

  • Natalie LePage

Now this is a cool place, the best ever version of a general store (clean, spacious and friendly). Holly! So many things (ok think of one) they have it!!! The prices are right, the store lay out is (well) excellent. I love this store and stop whenever I am in the neighbourhood, no excuses required.

  • Heather

This place is one of a kind and really unique. As a local to the area I really value this place. I come here for literally EVERYTHING. I don't know what I would do without it. Everything from plants, to household items, organic grocery brands, books, crystals and more! Just go and see for yourself.

  • Eve Gagnon Dolf

A wide array of quality organic and environmental produces from cleaning supplies, food, cookware, and health products. Staff is kind and very helpful. It’s worth a go! I visit often to stock up on well priced organic products and seasonal items. Very grateful to have Welk’s in my neighbourhood.

  • Yang Pang

An affordable general store with interesting and very useful inventory from tea, to canning supply, to hardware, and games. Seeds, biking accessories, gifts, notebooks, green cleaners, and kitchen things. Take a walk around the store, this place has the stuff you've been looking for everywhere.

  • Mary D

A really cool store with high quality products and natural goods. They have everything from kitchen gadgets, cast iron pans, hardware, stationery, plant pots, natural soaps/beauty products, essential oils, food, and lots more. Prices are reasonable too. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.

  • Heather S

Such a great little general store with everything from plants, to cookware, household cleaning, essential oils, toiletries, books, toys, toilet plungers, hardware, colouring books, stationary, gifts, storage bins, and lots of tasty grocery items you might not be able to find elsewhere. Love!

  • Terry Wong

A good place to buy seeds n seedlings for the garden and house. A good selection of organic foods. Personal products for the body as in soaps and shampoos. I would also say Welks is like a small department store with a small inventory of different things like bathroom n kitchen accessories.

  • Kris Potter

Very cool store with a ton of great stuff. Particularly good selection of gourmet food items and high end scented products. I also noticed a pretty well chosen and stocked board-game section. They really do have a bunch of stuff worth checking out. A little pricey but not outrageous.

  • Jessica Doig

Fun general store with remarkable variety for its small footprint. Good practical items like water bottles and kitchen utensils, fun gifts like novelty socks and cute mugs, and a great selection of plants and gardening supplies too! Often a first stop for finding a useful gift!

  • Nancy Brady

With an emphasis on natural, organic and sustainable products, Welk's is the place to go when looking for household, health and wellness items. They also offer an attractive selection of crystals, salt lamps and plants in the spring. This general store is anything but general.

  • John

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ONE OF MY TOP 3 FAVORITE STORES IN VANCOUVER! Best quality department store BY FAR with the best prices on everything. You will not pay insane amounts of $$$ for markups, you'll just get great quality selection for what it costs. I go to Welk's for everything (almost)!

  • K. D.

Excellent selection of artisanal soaps and candles, as well as hot sauces and spices! They also have much more - the aisles are so fun to browse. The cashier was also friendly and kind. Overall pleasant experience - will definitely go back for more soaps and candles!

  • Daniel Lindskog-Wilson

I always enjoy coming to this unique general store. They always have a little bit of everything here. One of the things that sets them apart is there eco-friendly products. for me, when I'm here, I usually end up walking out with something from their kitchen section.

  • Steve Thorp

This store is incredible. Has everything you could imagine, and the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Also, they have the best toothpaste on earth, Before! Incredible taste, clean ingredients, beautiful design, and a plant-based tube. Highly recommend :))

  • Fennya Numeria

During coronavirus pandemic this is might seem like a cramped store but customer flow in the store was well organized, masks were a requirement (they provided me with a disposable one for free!) and I can always find what I'm looking for there. Very helpful staff.

  • Noal Wilson

This place is amazing. They have everything I want or need, and they have so much of it provided by local businesses. The best popsicles, bamboo undies, lip gloss, and cordials just to name my favourites. Plus they have a decent board games selection! Wowsers!

  • Corbet Rutzer (crutzer)

This general store is anything but general. With an emphasis on organic, natural, unique and more sustainable products, Welk's is the place to go when looking for household and kitchen items. They also offer a nice selection of plants in the spring.

  • Kari Beaudoin

This shop has so many wonderful things in it. I could have spent hours in there looking at everything. I will for sure be back to which i am sure I will spend even more time there looking around. I would refer people to come here, just like i was.

  • Monkey King

Not a dollar store. But... Has great prices on most things organic and just a neat shop to peruse. I love my kleencanteen water jug. It's big enough to bring to the gym and keep me hydrated. The prices are great. And that's why I keep coming back.

  • Andrew Le Patourel

Great and quirky little grocery store. It’s got a little of everything in a wide variety. Last time I was there I got a tube of 10 carpenter pencils and a jar of luxardo maraschino cherries. Fun place to have a poke around, always worth a look!

  • Mo Cons

I shopped here as often as I could, very good selection of organic foods, and a myriad of other products. It's like an organic dollar store, with combination of food, necessities for the home, gardening items, and much more, at decent prices.

  • Subrata Chakrabarti

A really interesting store on Main. They sell average everyday things and some unusual things. Very nicely organized store. Some organic items, plants, snacks, crystals, books and more. A General Store from the days gone by. I like the idea.

  • Jen L

They've got a bunch of products here that cannot be found elsewhere. Sometimes, it feels like a treasure hunt since you'll never know what gem you'll find here while perusing the aisles. The prices are also reasonable and staff are friendly.

  • Andrew Henry

Wonderful selection of household goods and food. What an old school general store should be. Everyone thinks that they have to go to big box stores to get good prices but their prices are great. Also, great selection of locally made masks.

  • Grace

Poor staff and management. Careless towards customers. Would be beneficial if they didn't judge a book by their cover and took the time to actually help customers. Instead of following customers around, think. Horrible customer service.

  • Roisin Abbott

I was here today picking up a gift and asked about gift wrapping services which they didn't have, but even so the super kind assistant offered to wrap my gift herself free of charge and did a lovely job! What great service! Thank you!

  • Reid Robinson

This is the epitome of a store that knows its clientele. The selection they have is simply amazing. From relatively new board games to cute floor mats they have it all. If you think you're only going to buy one thing... Think again.

  • Brody Isaak

I’m always shocked by their prices. if you want WholeFoods quality at Walmart prices this is your place homie. their sales are really great and they always have something new and interesting in their assortment. go give em’ a visit

  • Vincent Lee

Enjoyed the inventory. Some thing are so obscure and kinda cool to look at. We had to buy a ceramic dish for roasted potatoes. Not bad prices. We will be back. But I hate waiting in the rain with nobody telling you what's going on.

  • Benjamin Weidman

This is such a gem in Vancouver! Well curated selection of home goods. Check here before you buy off amazon!!! Staff always great. Cheapest / best organic peanut butter selection that I know of in Vancouver. Really love it here.

  • jake tsui

What a great discount store in the middle of mount pleasant. They have it all. Tools, stationary, hardware, kitchen items, bathroom Items, plants, gift ideas,..etc. One has to visit Welks when on Main Street to see what I mean.

  • My Ah

Lots of great items, with a focus on sustainability and supporting local. My go-to place for soy candles, cleaning/laundry supplies, food containers, insulated tumblers/bottles, and toiletries. Welk's is packed with goodness!

  • Chantelle Poirier

I absolutely LOVE this store!!! So many amazing products. From well known trustworthy brands to supporting small town products from all over BC ! Absolutely appreciate what they're up to here xoxo thank you …

  • PK Lee

Just like an old town General Store, has about everything you need for your home. Also a good place to go to look around. I appreciate that the store is asking customers to wear masks in the store, keeping everyone safe.

  • Sierra S

For a small store they seem to have everything! Love there environmentally friendly products, especially for kitchen! Also not too expensive. Just bought an Areopress coffee maker and it was cheaper here than on Amazon.

  • Marlene Philip

We had a great time in this store, it has sooo many choices. There's a great supply of natural oils, household items. My daughter was pleased to find tights that she previously purchased the same kind several years ago.

  • Bailey

The store is great, lots of random but quality items. I almost always leave with more than what I came for! Can be a bit tight in some spots though and it does make it harder to take your time & explore the shelves.

  • Catherine Marsh

Great, hipster truly general store with lots of quality kitchen goods (including Lodge cast iron pans, Wusthof knives), hair products, dried goods, stationary and other items ideal for stocking stuffers or gifts.

  • Tom Servo

Quirky assortment of everyday goods - reminds me a lot of Luke's Drug Mart in Calgary but without the record shop. Leans heavily on the trendy/overpriced side, the hardware section is a really nice touch though.

  • Amy L

Great place to shop for gifts and household items. Great purchases we made here: Glass to-go cups and Swell bottles/brushes, Badger Natural Sunscreen, Notepads/Notebooks, Natural soaps, Saltwest Sea Salt. etc.

Really interesting stuff in this store, I love all the unique kitchen items that you can't find anywhere else. The only problem is that some of the items are so popular that they can't keep the item stocked.

This little store somehow carries everything we need at amazing prices! This is our go to spot for frozen groceries, cleaning supplies, Stumptown coffee, plant pots and gifts. Can't recommend them enough!

  • Milo Dron

I absolutely adore this place. It's got a bit of everything, and most products are good quality but low cost. It is constantly busy for good reason - it's the first choice for everyone in the neighborhood

A wonderful general store. They have a little bit if everything from tools and household needs, to boardgames and birthday supplies. A great place to go if you need something but just aren't sure what.

Some good deals and the hardware is actually well priced and some overpriced items but it's a small business so expected. They sell these Indigenous sponges I hope they keep them in stock. Nice folks.

Such a great store, jam-packed with a huge variety of items. Truly a general store, focussing on high quality but reasonably priced kitchenware, hardware, lots of hard to find items and gift ideas.

  • Lisa M

what a fun place! lots of selection and fits the description of a 'general store'. Theres just about everything in there. They carry some unique items/brands that aren't found in other stores.

  • Isaac Elias

Fun place. True general store, with everything from plants to home goods to groceries. They give tonnes of shelf space to local companies (candles, creams, etc) which gives it a community vibe

Amazing store! They have EVERYTHING from cookware, to non-alcoholic craft beer and gin, organizers, great books and even boardgames. Easily spent $200 so be careful! Very nice people too!

They sell plants- which drew me to the store. They have a lot of things in Welks. I recommend it for snacks, kitchen, gifts, games, puzzles and strangely there is a wall of underwear?

For a small local shop, you can find an amazing variety of things you both are and are not looking for. Prices are high for some things, and great for others. Worth multiple visits.

Love this place! It’s my favourite store in Vancouver. They have truly everything. They carry great brands, and the quality is excellent. Their seasonal section is always on point.

Nifty items, nice for low-waste living. A little more than what you'd expect to pay but there are some great prices on things. Browsing the store is loads of fun!

  • Maria Kuchapska

Quirky and eccentric general store. Bought my reusable pads here & best price on Oatly in the city. I always make a point of popping in here when I'm on Main St.

  • Gonnagle

I love coming here when I'm in need of something as they tend to have a bit of everything. Also a great place to check out if you're looking for some plants!

  • Nick Hart

Obsessed with this store. Very well curated selection, with a real eye for quality and a lot of local / ethical products as well. Has literally everything.

  • Sheila Rebellato

The "corner store" of a different generation. Hardware, gifts, food, gardening supplies, games... They have it all. Great selection of fun socks, as well.
