The Owner is a complete arrogant and nasty person that refuses to take any blame for any issues that arise with a bike. Recently I took a $1,000 BMX that was purchased at super elliotts back due to a warranty issue. The defective parts caused a crash leading to severe personal injury and about $2,500 worth of damages to my bike and my personal possessions. Despite having evidence and witnesses to the fact the crash was caused a warranty issue I was told I was entirely at fault. Since I felt like I was bashing my head against a brick wall I escalated it to the distributer, who issues the warranty not super elliotts, only to be told I was going to be banned from the shop after collecting my bike. If you value any level of customer service avoid like the plague.
Not particularity impressed with this store. I took my bike in for a free service after purchasing it, I mentioned that I had been having trouble shifting and was assured they'd take a look. Exact same issues with shifting when I got it back, I don't believe they looked at the gearing at all. Other than that, I had a component on my bike break and it took almost two months to hear back from the store. They blamed it on Giant's warranty people, and I had to call the store repeatedly just to even find out how the claim was progressing. Even more frustrating was when I heard back, the repair took less than a day and they did it in the store. Would not recommend, nor ever go back.
I got my first and only Super Elliott Cycle for my 11th birthday in 1970. It was a wonderful blue colour with white Cheat lines and a white E on the front stem. It had straight handle bars which I changed to drop handle bars and put toe clips on. I rode it to school in Adelaide and around the streets where I lived. It went with me when my family moved to England in 1972. Since then I’ve ridden it everywhere I’ve lived in England, Scotland, Luxembourg and Switzerland where I lived for 26 years. In 2017 after 47 years of faithful service I finally parted with it, an old friend gone for good. Thanks for a great bike !
Went in for my second attempt to buy my son a new bike from this store . First time just the same as the second time the staff just can't be bothered if you want to feel like your being a nuisance and a inconvenience this is the place to shop . The only reason why I went here was it was convenient to the car park and nostalgia from being a BMX nut as a kid this is where I shopped . Went to Bicycle Express what a different experience the staff there actually knew how to converse with other human beings other than the ones they work with and super helpful . Walked out with a GT BMX son was stoked .
I got my Giant ATX 27.5 2 2017 model from here. The staff is just amazing, helpful and friendly and provided me with a great deal on the bike and the accessories. The guy assisting me was Tom who was very helpful and suggestive. The next time you want to buy a bike, simply walk into this store and everything else would be taken care of. The best thing about this store is that they have good quality budget friendly bikes as well. Cheers to the staff! Will definitely recommend this store if you're planning to get a bike.!
Bought my cycle and I had a puncture immediately the shop couldn't do anything I had to pay 30 dollars to get it repaired. I had told them to replace the stem and put a 60 mm but then they didn't change it .I had to go again to the shop to change it but they gave me a stem of 80 mm Not 60 mm since they didn't have.. What's the use of informing it prior. Poor work ethics Shop has equipment loaded with everything but you need to get your head on their backs to do the work damn lazy or ignorant .
This cycle shop has a good range of very thing cycling. The name SUPER means; "super poor customer service". If I had read the customer experience from this shop, I would have gone some where else. The purchase I made from them unfortunately broke while fitting, returned the item asking for a replacement, the service was appalling. I managed to track down the supplier, discussed with them what happened and they replaced with out any problems. Will never shop at Elliotts again.
I brought a bike from Tom who was assisted in the process by 2 of his staff. I would highly recommend Super Elliotts to anybody for the following reasons: They are not pretentious tour de wannabes. They just love cycling and know lots about it. They offered me extremely good value. The customer service is always high and they are extremely responsive (even after taking my money). They seem to always have the things in stock that I need. Nothing is ever a problem.
Amazed this shop is still going. Heck I think it's due to Location, Location, Location. The owner is more concerned about customers swearing in the shop than providing fast and reliable service to customers. Taking 4 days for a firs warranty service on a BMX bike with minimal moving parts is a joke. They're also more than happy to sell you a bike, however after that you're on your own if any issues occur, by your own fault or otherwise.
My experience over many years has been invariably very good, with excellent customer service, keen pricing and a comprehensive range of everything to do with bikes so I can only think that only those who may have had a negative experience (for whatever reason) ever respond with a review. I felt compelled to balance the reviews which amazed me with their negativity. These guys are bike enthusiasts and I cannot recommend them too highly.
I have dealt with super Elliott's for years and I finally bought my first Carbon Fibre bike. There was no hard sell and everything they advised me of was the same as what I had researched. After sales attention has been excellent. As a repair shop they have always done a high standard of work on my other bikes. They are a friendly group of people & "tell it like it is". It's the first shop that I always go to. Marcus Micheaux.
I first shopped here in 1995 buying some power bars off Alan Gill. Ive found Merrick to be also good to do business with. Recently did me a great deal on some TCR framesets and the new 12spd dura ace groupset. Best prices in Australia on those for sure. They also have a great range of retro cycling clothing. They always have a lot of stock and prices are super competitive. If you are looking for something check here first.
Vast range, vast prices, horrendously rude staff. I am feeling force to give 1 star as I would have preferred to give none. I got given some pretty condescending attitude for asking a simple question. The shop across the road might be expensive but at least they treat customers like human being and not cash cows. Go there if you would like to be judge, humiliated and being told off like a participants of the Voice.
A huge thank you to the guys working today for helping me out with a somewhat unique issue. Pulled my pram out of the car today for the first time in a while only to find it had a flat. The guys were super helpful, replacing the tube and getting the pram tires pumped up again for me when I walked in off the street a tiny bit stressed. I couldn't have done it on my own and they really go me out of a tight spot.
Poor service. Had friend who was loaning my bike take it in for a service due to skipping gears. First time they did not fix it, so we took it back and told it needed more servicing and paid again. Did not fix problem after paying twice. Took somewhere else and found I actually needed a new chain and cassette, which they should have advised. Very poor service. Avoid!
Had the most 'super' arrogant staff member refuse to help me look at a bike pump as it was 'too busy' and laughed when I asked if a tech could help with a deflated tyre. Will never return again and would not recommend to anyone (The bike shop across the road was much more friendly and helped me right away - I now have a fantastic air pump).
I saw a lot of poor reviews on customer service so I was hesitant but the staff are the complete opposite to what I read. I am new to the bike scene and have 0% knowledge on anything. Fortunately, they were so lovely and helpful. I've been there a few times now and been served by different people and they all have been lovely.
Took my bike in for a noisy bottom bracket. They said it needed a re grease and I also had a new cadence and speed sensor fitted. The bottom bracket makes more noise now than ever and the magnet for the sensor fell off during the first ride. Personally I could have balls it up myself and saved some $$ Poor form.
I can’t rate them cycle work but 5 stars for customer service! I came in with my wheelchair that needed grips replaced. I had the replacement grips so I wasn’t even buying anything but they kindly replaced out the old worn-out grips with the new set right then and there for no charge. Made my day. Thanks guys!
They quoted me a price for a service and when I returned to pick up my bike and pay they charged me more. I brought up the issue and the manager simply told me there was nothing he could do and I would have to deal with it! This business does not honor their word and I recommend going to a different bike shop
5 star for sales. But no so good after the support afterwards. I dont particularly care because I know how to fix stuff.. but beware.. Hope someone responsible at the business take a note of these reviews and take some action. Sad to see the brand diminishes due to the amateurs at the counter.
Loads of bikes n gear but no answers. Saturday afternoon I really wanted the price of a bmx in the shops front window mind you, 3 staff members and no one could answer other than sorry we can’t find the price book. I’m sure you will sell it but not to me, I would of brought it …
Staff is very friendly and help you straight to the core. Price is very friendly too, for example, the same tyre tube is priced $20 in another store, it's only $7 in here. Collection and different kind of things are also sold here.. totally worth to visit and spend in here
I had been into the store a few times for bits and pieces- handlebar mirror, front light, new jersey- all good and friendly service. Kept looking at a Basso all carbon and bought it 9 days ago- fantastic. Thanks so much for the great bike and terrific service!! ❤❤❤
Super helpful staff. I desperately needed some new outer rims and they were kind enough to help me just as they were closing up for the night. I've previously had great service from the team and good advice about practical needs for a commuter and enthusiast alike
As a bicycle messenger I don't understand how in today's world a shop can treat it's customers so poorly and still turn a profit. 5 years ago they were friendly and helpful, even offering (an albeit small) discount to bike messengers but at
After having shopped at many cycling stores over the years I can say that Super Elliotts has a great range of bikes and accessories at very reasonable prices. Most importantly however is their advice so you buy right the first time.
Toby, Nathan and the gang at Super Elliots sourced 2 Norco bikes and other gear for me and my partner in super quick time. Attentive and knowledgeable dealing with random questions and requests. Top job all round Id say. Thank you!
Yes, they’re still open! This store has been an institution for cyclists in Adelaide across decades. They stock a wide range of bikes, parts, and accessories, so I’ve often found myself there when I needed something immediately.
My mate from interstate inadvertently left his sram charger at home. The staff from super elliots cycles were able to help out by charging up his two batteries for no cost as they had currently sold out of chargers. Legends!
Fantastic experience from Patrick yesterday in-store! He helped us pick out the best helmet and went above and beyond to find the right colour. Highly recommend Super Elliott and Patrick’s service for any cycling needs.
Bought two bikes for myself and partner. The guys were so helpful with advice and helped me fit different seats and water bottles nothing was a inconvenience for them. Thank you i will be back and recommend you
I recently had cause to have my Giant replaced under warranty. Every staff member that I dealt with was most helpful. Thankyou Super Elliotts. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.
Poor customer service. They did a quick fix on my bike and then denied it. They were only interested in how much money they could scam out of me. Please do not shop there!
Great old school bike shop been popping in here since 1977 so a long time ha . Tonnes of stock great assortment of clothing. Thanks for helping out and servicing my bike.
Chris and Toby and the rest of the boys are legendary, Chris helped me out with a tyre change on my MTB this morning and got me back on the trail as quick as
5 stars as always. Great bike servicing and sales. I always buy my accessories and get my bike serviced from Super Elliots. Staff are nice and helpful also.
So appreciative of the help I received here today. They picked a perfect bike for me (beginner). Comfortable, easy to ride and value for money. Thanks guys!
Couldn't fault the staff or service I received, nothing was too much and everyone was very helpful. Thank-you for my new bike & will definitely be back.
Have always received excellent customer service from the staff over the 10 years that I been buying bikes and parts from here. 10/10 would recommend!
Great service Good advice Chris went over and above to sell the correct bike and accessories that would suit me! Happy with out come Thank you
One of the best OG shops in Adelaide. Most stock and range than anyone else, including the big boys. Service is also 10/10 every single time.
The team here are great to deal with. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Stocked to the brim with a huge range of bikes and parts.
Great customer service. These guys just helped us out with our wheels. Professional, great store and cycling is in their blood.
Paid for $39 for a bike seat (the yellow one) but given a $19 bike seat instead. Really disappointed
Chris is the man. Passionate about bikes and nothing is too hard. Great service and range!
Appears to have a great selection, but the extremely rude staff prevented a sale today.
Very helpful young men. All are so friendly and nice. Prompt efficient bike repairs.
Good prices, good service, I recommend it.
Nice bike store with good selection.
