Probably the best selection in the DFW metroplex. But I have to take one star away**. My one gripe is the when they have limited bottle releases (e.g. allocated whiskies), they put them out on tables and/or barrels in the store...in the morning. People will get there for opening just to snatch them up, and by the time an average Joe like me can swing by (after work, typically), there's no shot at any of the "good stuff." Don't get me wrong, they have plenty of unallocated good stuff, but many of us would love to try these hard-to-find bottles from time to time. Other Spec's locations will put a few out at a time throughout the day, and I'd love it if they did that here. Maybe they do, but in my experience I have not seen it. **I recently had an opportunity to swing by, but I had very little time, so I figured I'd call ahead. The gentleman I spoke with was very friendly, and my question for him was: did you get any allocated stuff in today (because I heard they would be), and if so, do you have any stuff released today still available? (I knew he wouldn't be able to tell be WHAT that still had, and I appreciated his willingness to actually answer my understandably annoying question [since they likely get asked this all day every day].) His response was, absolutely, you should definitely swing by. I was 5 minutes away, so I did. Upon my arrival, disappointment immediately set in after I saw the bare aforementioned tables and barrels. I asked someone working there if they had anything available that they had set up today. Her answer: oh no, that stuff was all gone about 20 minutes after we opened. I support Spec's far and wide (not just in the city in which I live), so I buy from them often. But I didn't appreciate the person who answered the phone either messing with me or trying to pull a bait n' switch.

To be perfectly honest, it's not that great. Yes, they have a large selection of beers, wines, and spirits, but to be perfectly honest, the Total Wine up the road from them has a much better selection of everything, as well as better prices. You pay more, even you pay in cash to get the cash discount, and gift cards? Don't even get me started on those! I'll get started on those myself. I recently went to Specs, and I had a gift card that was purchased with cash by a friend of mine. So tell me why I was charged the additional 5% for the portion of my purchase that I paid using the gift card? Seriously, look at the pic! The cashier pressed the button to charge me for not paying in cash for the gift card portion! So, if you buy a gift card for a friend or family member, and you pay for it in cash, understand that it will be rung up as though they were paying with a check or a card, even though they won't be charged any of the fees for processing a Visa or MasterCard or check that they would otherwise. That's the whole reason for the 5% discount for paying with cash, they don't have to pay any processing fees for the money. I actually sent an email to Specs asking about this, but they apparently felt that it wasn't worth their time because I've heard nothing from them after nearly two weeks. So, go ahead, pay more at Specs if you'd like, but I will never be going there again. It's not the additional $1.10 fee that I had to pay, it's the principle of the thing. A gift card does not require them to pay any fees to process, it's as good as cash, and it should be treated like cash.

This Specs location remains my favorite. After housing a Toys R Us for years, it became Specs, filling me with joy of a child once again. Not only does Specs have an unrivaled selection, the prices are incredible! I have only a hand full of things l could get cheaper elsewhere. Their beer section is somewhere you can find the newest beer to hit shelves and then just a few bottles down discover rare beer treasures. So far as l can see, every employee is just as interested and excited about the products they offer, which extends to these employees being well read and privy to new releases. I can find Spirits here regularly that others stores can only ever order, if at all. While I am not partial to any one type of spirit, l do have high standards for what l am to pay. That said, l have still yet to not find exactly what l was looking for and routinely spend more because l discover something new. This really applies when l shop for wine. There is also a wonderful selection of fine foods for just about any kind of gathering you could imagine hosting. And you can also find all the appropriate glassware, cocktail mixers, and supplies. This is wonderful as it saves me from having to step foot in a Walmart. And l cannot forget to mention the cigar selection. I can always find most major brands here, with appearances from more rare selections. So again, l can cut one more trip off of an already busy day. l am beyond pleased with every experience l have had shopping here and will gladly brave the traffic to get here.

Spec's Warehouse in Big D at Walnut Hill and Central Expressway has the best inventory of beer, wine and spirits in DFW since they have the best wholesale purchasing contracts in Texas. We moved back to Dallas from Houston after 27 years in Houston in 2007 and between 2007 and early 2010's every trip to Houston prior to their expansion to Dallas, we would visit the big store just south of downtown in Houston and fill our car's trunk with cases of outstanding Bordeaux wines and spirits since their pricing beat anyone in Dallas. We begged the Key family for years to expand to Big D and they finally did! Now, when travelling to Houston we don't have to load the car since we just buy at their first store in Dallas. Their selection of fine wines especially French, Italian, Spanish and other nations are more broad than anything in Dallas including Total Wines and More. Thank You so much for coming to Dallas!

I came to this location yesterday for the Slipknot No 9 Reserve bottle signing. Long story short: I forgot my wallet at home, and, attempted to use my Apple Pay, which I have NEVER had even tried to use until yesterday. A woman by the name of Meosha, did anything and everything possible to make sure I could secure a bottle for the signing event. Unfortunately, after MANY attempts and a full battery later, I was unable to purchase a bottle for the signing. However, while I was FEVERISHLY trying to get my Apple Pay to work(Apple Support had to get involved) it was a loss. Meosha, Kourtney and Malia were so kind and gracious enough to even HOLD a bottle for me just in case I was able to figure out my own dilemma. If it’s customer service you long for, this location is top-notch. Even though I left empty handed, I was still a happy customer.

Racially profiled me as i waited for a long time to pick up an order from Doordash. Manager stared at me the whole time and i just waited until they decided the order wasn't "fraud" Will not be going here and i'll be telling everyone to watch out for this location and it's unprofessional ways. Further detail, the order was already paid in advance, all i do is just show proof of the order on my phone, pick up, verify the customer's id and deliver. Not my business to do anything with Specs, i just pick up and go. wasn't my order at all to be treated like this.

Quite the selection here...maybe not the best wine or beer selections, but they have an almost grocery store look and feel. As in the have a small refrigerated and frozen food aisle and an actual deli. Something of a surprise was they even have a chocolate bar with many variety styles of truffles. Not the lowest pricing I have seen, keeps it from 5 stars and staff only helped when asked...I prefer the knowledgeable approach with offered tasting that their competition does. Hard to locate on top of a parking ramp, but once there...this place is huge.

Difficult to find without a guide, but if you follow the stream of traffic they'll show you the way. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Everybody greets you. I knew what I was searching for but had to take a rest stop. When I returned to the counter my selection was waiting for me. Doesn't get any better than that. The majority of package stores could care less if you come or go. SPECS goes that extra length to let you know you've come to the right place. Had to travel 70 miles because my local Specs could not get my beverage, but it was worth it.

Liquor paradise! This place has it all and then some! If you're looking for something special or obscure, chances are Spec's carries it. The prices are fantastic and the customer service is friendly and helpful. Just look for the guys in red shirts. There is also a cheese section located just past the wine area. You can even fill your belly here if you're hungry! Did I mention the free samples? Lots of helpful tasting areas scattered about in this fantastic liquor paradise! If they make it, you'll likely find it here!

Super rude! I asked for a few boxes because I'm moving and both people working the registers were so rude when I asked nicely and said that the entire wall of empty boxes was "all they had". Didn't even apologize or point me in the right direction to another specs that could help me. I just need empty boxes it's not like it's that big of a deal. I'm sure they are going on the trash anyways. I'll never buy liquor here ever again. Not even for friends to run an errand. I'll take my business elsewhere :)

This my liquor store cheapest liquor store intown. I find my preach crown here all them time. Every where else it's $37 an here at Spec's it $26. They even make a on-site crown pecan pie I told my wife I want to try one for Thanksgiving. They have any wine or liquor you are looking for. It's pretty hard to not find what I'm looking for here, good variety of every type of wine, liquor and beer. Clear signage and great selection of party things. Their mini bottle selection is varied that I can always shop for a variety of people. Many a time I have been able to depend on their team to help guide me in my selection; when there is so many good choices it's so easy for me not to decide.

If ever you need great catering for a get together, you need to call Spec's. Preston Washington is WONDERFUL. His goal if your absolute satisfaction. I have used them 2-3 for events, and every time the comments from my guests about the quality and taste of the food are always great. And, the fact that Spec's delivers only makes working with them that much more convenient. I highly recommend them!

This was my first time here, and I was impressed. This store was huge, with everything you could wish for. It has a good layout and friendly staff to stear you in the right direction. Please note that they add 5% to the price if you pay with credit, which more than offsets any benefits you might get from using a credit card (for example, 1.5% cash back). This store is massive and the staff are great. I ended up getting a handful of bottles that I have been looking for and the staff was more than willing to help me find everything I was looking for. Without a doubt, this is the biggest specs I have ever seen. Their stock is massive and includes tons of local distilleries which I really like. If you have not been to this location, go!

Yeah, there are Spec's all around here, but this is the one you really need to come to whenever you can. This is the one which isn't constantly running out of things. This is the one which consistently rings up the case price when you get two 12-packs. This is the one with a deli counter which actually stays open/staffed. This is the one with the most samplings. Parking is easy.

If you are looking for a place with a great selection of everything alcohol Spec's is a great choice. Prices are competitive and the selection is vast. They occasionally have liquor companies do samples which is always fun. They do have a full humidifier room full of cigars and a decent selection of bar supplies so if you need a wine fridge or a jigger they probably have it.

Specs is an amazing store. Surprisingly they have great food as well. What we love best is this new Vodka called SweetBeat Vodka that everyone is drinking now. It's made from white sugar beets in France and Texas owned!!! Specs keeps it stocked for us. We don't drink anything else because this is the only 1 true brand that doesn't give you a hangover!! Went in with my 6 and 16 year old son just to make a quick stop and of course I was asked for my Id (which I always have)... But so was my son so I told the guy that he's 16 and I was told I couldn't buy anything because of his age and yes I'm 30 but I do look 22 after going back and forth he finally let me buy what I had.... The Walnut Hill location is arguably the best liquor store in Dallas. Nice big aisles, huge and unusual selections with enough staff available to assist with anything. A large, staffed cigar humidor and nice deli with fine cheeses and meats. I recently visited the world's largest liquor store in Thornton Colorado and this Specs location is a far better store.

New Year's Eve and this place was jam packed! Staff was ultra friendly and helpful! I was able to sample some wine and because of how sweet the rep was, we bought a bottle of sweet red. I am fortunate that Spec's carries my favorite Panamanian Rum... its the only place i get it from! And this time they had a soda that said 'Papa' it was the perfect match!

For me Spec's will always be a place for big hauls, huge selection and fair prices. It's fair to say the size and variety of liquor can be intimidating to some but if you're like me, it makes it more interesting. It's not always convenient to make a separate liquor store run but Spec's makes it fun and the staff is quick, professional and knowledgeable.

Wow, wow and wow, what a selection, it's a good thing they server food, I spent the afternoon finding some hard to find Items. White Port being just one of them. This is essentially the flagship Spec's for the Dallas area and thus has one of the better selections compared to other Spec's in town. highly recommended the burger in the deli. Quality meat. Great value. If you're perusing the craft beer single shelves, be sure to check the canning dates if printed on the can or bottle.

This is a great "Big Box" liquor store. If they don't have it, in my humble opinion, you don't need it. Inconvenient access but once you are there it is a great place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great deli section. Perfect stop if you need variety for entertaining. Stop by and take a look, you will be glad you did.

First time visiting Specs and really enjoyed it. Incredible selection of liquor and beer. Lots of staff that were friendly and helpful. Saw different drinks that I had never seen before or can’t get back home. Cashier was sucky and was not friendly or personable at all but the store itself and floor staff were great.

Fabulous selection, especially single malt Scotch whisky. The wine and beer lineup looks pretty extensive too, although those were not on my shopping list this trip. A little hard to find the entrance but their signs guiding you in from the US 75 access road are pretty good. Love the cash/debit card discount.

This specs like most others, is very well-stocked with many different liquors, wines, beers, mixers and accessories. How is that the search for a good bourbon. Although nothing allocated was there I still had a great selection. There's plenty of parking in this particular store. The staff was very helpful.

The staff are happy, easy-going, knowledgeable, and approachable. If you think you have a stupid question, don't worry about it. Ask them. They've got you.

They also have tasting vendors set up to sample various liquor. Parking us plentiful and it is a breeze to get to since it's right off of 75.

Huge selection. I'd imagine the prices are competitive simply by sheer volume of their inventory. What really sets them apart is their very friendly staff. Yes, indeed! I almost never go into Spec's looking for something in particular. I always stop when I'm driving by, and I almost always find something that's worth a look. The staff is helpful, always ready with a suggestion then usually works out to be a great choice.

Pleasant and helpful staff! They're willing to show you where items are and even look things up in their system just to make sure. The store is clean and organized. They offer sanitizer at the registers and all staff are wearing guests. Even the security ! :)

The only thing this place needs is a location finder app that tells u where your item is located. So many options leaves u reeling after walking the aisles for so long. But, the employees are helpful, there's always a tasting and the deli is second to none.

They have shochu, sake, soju and Nikka label liquor imported from Japan. The only thing I actually couldn’t find was Yebisu beer. With all of this domestic and imported liquor, you can consider this a 1-stop shop.
