JB Hi-Fi needs to put more attention on In-Store Support staff behavioural skills and services. Staff members were very unprofessional and rude at least on my visit. I went to buy a simple 15m lan cable on 22nd Sept 2022. On arrival i tried to make an eye contact with a staff member (i will call her the lady with a boy cut, I couldn’t get her name as it would have been another drama if i had tried to stare on her name tag or ask her name) to see if she can redirect me to correct lane or get me the cable itself. She constantly avoid the gaze and moved around. After multiple attempts when i tried to ask about the product, she refused and said “No its not available” and then went away. I re-tried this time by showing her my phone and mentioning that it is indeed available in this store as per JB Hi Fi website. Well the answer to this was, ”Sir, please stay 1.5 metre away from me and say what you need to say”. Note: it’s sept 2022 and i was no where near her personal space nor showing any signs of deteriorate health, cold or cough. At this point, i thought, let it be she is having a rough day or something so I avoided that particular staff member. Then she came back with another staff member and said give me the SKU. Well another thing in this store, network reception is too poor at the store so when i was trying to open the product page again it was taking too much time. Then both of members said, can you get the SKU or not. I had to ask them, can’t you search online at store and very rudely they replied that “we can but as you see store is quite busy today so you will have to wait”. Well in the end I was able to find the lan cable section on my own and even then took it from my hand scanned it and lady passed her final closing comments “this is xcd brand you said belkin didn’t you”. Well i clearly asked for 15 metre cat 6 lan cable and that’s it. Well these statements and the way of delivery definitely shows they need to learn more on how to take care of customers politely. Even if they got a massive pay cut that day, it doesn’t justify the way of communication. They need to be aware that all types of customers like socially anxious, elderly, not so tech-savy comes into the store and their job is to help them. I am not gonna visit Elizabeth Store anytime soon for sure. Luckily there are other JB HI FI outlets in CBD.
The customer service is absolutely laughable terrible. My partner bought me a GoPro 9, with all the possible accessories - this was all recommended by this guy my partner bought it from (bought it on the 2/11). Turned out they have given us the wrong screen protector, as this was for the GoPro 8. I went in today and asked for the GoPro 9 screen protector. The customer service I have received, or better to say: there was no customer service, was absolutely horrible. They told me they could give me a refund for the wrong screen protector (which I think is not more then normal, as they have us the wrong one). Seems out there is no screen protector for the GoPro 9. When I mentioned how could they sell a GoPro to my partner and sell the wrong protector - the gentleman (tall, glasses, slim, dark hair) only said that the person who sold us the product wasn’t paying attention - that’s it. No other options were given to me. They have given my partner the wrong product, they don’t come with any other options and they won’t give me the refund as the product was purchased on my partners card. Which is ridiculous because partly of the purchase have been paid cash. Be mindful purchasing products here as the ‘customer service’ is horrible.
Don't recommend this store. I called because i needed a product asap and their store was the only store to have it in the entire state. After being on the phone for 40mins on hold, a guy picks up and assures me that he can put it on hold for me because i was gonna get it on a plan, when the salesman picks up to do my order, he was trying to help at the beginning, but because i was gonna pay in another store that's closer to me and someone was gonna pick it up on the same day, he started saying no after agreeing to give it to me. I even said they'll come and pay in full after he said no. He said no because 2 orders came in as we were talking on the phone. I was on the phone for 40 mins and could've put it on hold until i could come in but no people that order after me get to have it. Thanks for WASTING my time and being rude after waiting for u guys to pick up for 40 MINS! DON'T GO TO THAT STORE, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, VERY RUDE !!!
This place is highly efficient for my click and collect orders, and I've had multiple positive experiences here. The staff is generally helpful, but they can be challenging to reach during busy times. On May 12th, I visited for the new Zelda release, and the team managed the crowd exceptionally well. The lady who assisted me with my order was not only friendly and patient but went above and beyond to locate my order. She has pink hair, and I'd like to commend her if I can find out her name. As an update, some people are complaining about waiting for an hour on Zelda release day, but as someone with convention and fandom/merch sale experience, I can attest that waiting an hour is nothing compared to waiting seven hours for a tote bag.
Very helpful and welcoming team at the Elizabeth Street Store. Akash was very informative. I was after a new TV that would support a PS5 since my previous TV broke when its stand gave way which caused the screen to crack when it fell. Akash gave me the choice of 3 TVs in different price ranges. Despite deciding on the Mid-Range Nanocell option, thanks to Akash and his supervisor I managed to walk away with an offer that priced the Higher-End QLED option at the same price as the Mid-Range Nanocell option. My PS5 is thriving! Ontop of the deal, Akash managed to throw in some XCD TV straps for free to make sure the TV doesn't fall again. Big thanks again to Akash and the team at the Elizabeth Street store. Very happy with my purchase.
JB Hi Fi in Elizabeth street was the store I visited in the past week in order to purchase a television. I wish to acknowledge an outstanding customer service experience with an employee named from memory Scott. Going above and beyond does not even do justice to him. Excellent product knowledge and patience of a saint as I could not decide between 2 sizes. He then offered to bring both up from storeroom so I could decide on ease of taking on the tram. Then ingeniously creating a handle on box with packing tape which was so helpful. Such a kind and pleasant young man deserved of commendation not only from me but Management please take note!!
Went here to buy a gift on black Friday, which was a men's garmin smart watch, you'd think given I spent $700 the man could be a little more friendly and offer me a bag for the box as well. No.. he didn't and he was extremely unfriendly. I don't know if he was just too tired given I was the first customer at 8am or if he's always that way, but it completely put me off. Customer service is such a big thing I feel and this store didn't have that at all. No one said hello when I came in or can I help you. Nothing. I would not recommend this store, unless all others are out of stock for what you need or its purely convenient to where you are.
Shout out to Raj as my queries were resolved, everything was explained to me with clarity & i felt no pressure to purchase anything. He helped acquaint me with some great deals & shed some light on my tech queries while I learnt a few things. I am happy with my purchase & I am in awe of his awesome support all round! I did also interact with Chris & some other team members, including both security personnel. They were all great to chat with both in person & over the phone. One security guard also guided me to their google products very promptly while I was in store. I am looking forward to visiting again soon!
Was constantly trying to find help but it is always a mission, made eye contact with a salesperson and when I walked towards them they walked away from me. Would be there for 20 minutes yet the grown men who just walk in get help straight away. Finally get help after chasing someone down just for them to be rude and act as if my request (asking if they had a suitable case for my MacBook) was impossible (they did not have any cases for my laptop, fair enough but didn’t like the tone while they talked down to me as if I was a child). Felt unwelcoming and never going back
Very supportive staff - was there at the very last minute of the day (8:57pm) to get my DSLR camera checked as the SD card was not holding into the slot and would pop out. And buy a new card if the one I had was faulty. Well, they're an electronics store but the staff is well equipped to check thing beyong just selling stuff. The cashier was quick to announce for a camera expert to check the camera - was sorted eithin minuted when thry popped in a spare SD card. Veryy happy when you get answers from experts in a minute, literally.
Went into today as a phone my wife had picked me up for Christmas ended up with a few screen issues, I was met by a young fella called Jack, he assisted me with my concerns and after a few moments agreed to replace the handset, not being a huge fan of retail shopping its members of staff like Jack who realy restore my faith, giving me a great insight into the retail world of JB Hifi with flawless passion, as real asset to the brand and the kind of staff every store needs, thanks Jack! retail support at about its finest.
My partner went in the store to have a look at computers. The store is really nice and well stocked in electronics. The range in gaming laptop is actually quite good. The staff was not pushy but really helpful. The gentleman that helped us answered all of our questions and some more. Provided us with good customer service. The price was also really competitive. That's why I always buy my electronics from JB. They are just the best shops to go to have great advice. Good team !
It's one of the last places to buy CDs and records.. DVDs... But houses are getting smaller and more and more content is becoming available in forms that are much easier to deal with. Still rights and availability right continue. And who doesn't love looking at stuff with their own eyes and the exposure to content seen by mistake? The door guy insists it's a condition of entry into this store that he look in your bag. Ask him if it's a condition of exit?
This is the one store where you ask a staff for recommendation on something within a certain budget and she just started recommending whatever was on the shelf in front of her and then be like “oh but even this is more expensive than $100 (my budget)…” - like what was that supposed to mean?? Really not appreciate that tone of the tomboyish lady. I know I was shopping with a budget but still, that’s so uncalled for All the other staff were fine
Good range as always. At the counter there was one person on the till, and he was on the phone to a customer. There was 7 of us waiting in the queue. There was a lady (who I'm assuming is the supervisor/manager) with orange hair just floating around and on her phone and occasionally telling the guy who was absolutely swamped to do things. If you are the manager you're setting a poor example. After 10 minutes of waiting I got my items.
One of the many JB Hi-Fis in the city. I went here to buy a Google Pixel 6 and a case for it. The employees were really kind and helpful and answered any questions I had without trouble. Unfortunately they didn't have the particular case I wanted in stock but they allowed me to pay for it in store and collect it in their Bourke street store close by. Overall, great service and a great place to buy the latest gadgets.
These stores have a wide range of products. The JB Hi-Fi claim 'Always Cheapest Prices' is a misnomer. They have some great deals but other than that the consumer has to do the hard work. Do your homework before visiting - JB relies on price matching to keep to their claim. If you can prove that a competitor has a lower price on the same item by presenting a copy of an ad or WebLink they'll better it by a smidgen.
Plenty of stock as expected, good range of products and prices. I went for a very specific item so easy enough to get once I got someone to open the cabinet. Staff were helpful, although the person that served me on payment couldn't have been less interested if they'd tried, which was very disappointing to see as it slightly soured the experience of what should have been a regular transaction.
Walked in today to buy some gifts for my work friends, and was surprised by the amazing service from Jordan! He was very relaxed and chill, yet stayed with me to answer all my questions and offered helpful thoughts between which models I should buy. Highly recommend asking for Jordan if you're ever at this store. Thank you Jordan! Made a simple visit, a wonderful one!
Got my iPhone 15 pro here. customer service is knowledgeable and the guy was great at his job and I understand he was just doing his job but the upselling here was intense. I was pretty clear that I just wanted the phone. A couple of suggestions, no problem, but it was relentless and endless. a little uncomfortable. but what can I say. A good salesman.
Great experience went with my partner to look at getting a new laptop for him. We were served by Hannah who couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. She gave us great service and helped us choose the right machine for my partners needs without trying to upswell anything. She was great and I hope her manager sees this and recognises good service.
I asked for two different tws' they showed me one and when I asked about price match, the sales guy was giving a judging look. Basically they don't care about customers. If you ask something they'll just ask you to wait and will disappear (if you guys are reading this, get good employees). There are better JB stores, visit any except this.
So this JB store is a little weird. It's split up into different flagship stores specialising in different items and you will probably have to take the lift if you are looking for a product you can't find on one floor. It can make finding a product on your own a little annoying, but the staff are very happy to help you out.
I had a fantastic experience with JB Hi-Fi's click and collect service, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the counter girl. She did a great job in assisting me promptly and efficiently. I appreciate her dedication and attention to detail. Overall, JB Hi-Fi's click and collect service exceeded my expectations.
A branch of the famous chain. This one has phones at the entrance, televisions upstairs and the usual array of smart speakers, computer accessories. But the newest hot trend was the wide array of smart pet accessories. They will play with, feed and entertain your dog or cat. For the lazy or technically minded pet owner.
I don’t usually leave reviews but the customer service here was really amazing. Look for JORDAN as he really knows his stuff. The deals were explained clearly and we were given discounts for other items too. I wish I had bought more accessories and a power bank with the discount offered!! We got what we wanted and more.
That's the second bad impression into this store very bad attitude of female staff when I'm try to doing the click and collect today I can feel her try to give me more pressure cause im standing in front of the counter for waiting I'm looking my identity. Have to make a big improve to train up your company staff
Excellent customer service from Christine. Friendly, polite, patient, helpful and considerate of advising me on what was going to suit me best rather than the latest or most expensive product. Came away very satisfied with a great deal and a fun and enjoyable shopping experience. Will be back.
Not very good experience. I bought a Power Bank here. The displayed and listed online price was different to the one staffs scanned at register. I then took a picture of the displayed price and showed another cashier. She, rather than admitting fault, reluctantly said changed the price for us.
I purchased a new phone yesterday and received an outstanding customer service from Chris. He understood what product I was looking for, assisted me setting it up and made it so easy for me to understand the features. He is a great asset to your team. Thank you Chris and keep up the good work.
Great JB with everything from TV’s, sound and kitchen appliances. There is always in store bargains, especially with the TV’s. the service is first class and they are very willing to help and don’t forget to ask for the best price as they will often take a little off the asking price.
One thing I didn't like about this place is there customer service if they do not like the way you look they ignore you and treat you like a thief I put it to the test once I pulled out a bundle of cash there attitude changed dramatically everyone should be treated the same
Fantastic customer service from Akash. He was very helpful, passionate, knowledgeable and took his time explaining about tvs to help us find the right one for us. We really appreciated the way he took time to get us the best price, being very conscious of our budget.
Easiest 5 star review I've had to give. I walked in nervous as anything about what phone to get. Sharon answered all my questions really well, listened to what I need and provided a phone perfect to what I was looking for. Amazing and lovely customer service.
Staff is helpful but only a few number of them is friendly. The store is easy to access. Many many staff stays on the ground floor but Only one staff stays on upstairs. If it is possible to increase the number of staff staying upstairs it would be better.
The store has really bad customer service. The staff member assisting us was not helpful at all and was talking in a rude and aggressive tone. This caused us to change our plan to buy the product from that store and get it from some other store.
Two complaints, firstly they say on their website to call for price matching but when I pointed out a genuine competitors website here in Australia was advertising the same model of TV $300 cheaper the response was something to the effect
Amazing customer service from staff and quality items. We also got a massively discounted item of the one thing we wanted to purchase just because of a recommendation/suggestion from a staff which made us leave the store happy and content.
I recently came to the store to buy two high flat screen TVs. I had two acquaintances with me, one being my female friend and one being a less attractive male friend Angus (scrawny, pizza face, bloodshot eyes, sluggish eyebrows). As we
Leo was fantastic! Can't be higher praising of the exceptional level of service I received here at this store. It's service like this that makes me chose to shop in store and not in line. If you are wanting friendly service, with great
I went to JB HiFi store at Elizabeth street in Melbourne, today around 5:30pm. There were 2 staff, at the back counter, and I asked for the help. One of them was very rude. I am an Accountant by profession and this behaviour of a sales
Quite possibly the best retail worker I've ever met works at this JB - Raj, the mobile phone guy - incredibly knowledgeable, super helpful and always has the customer's best interest at heart. Cant recommend him highly enough, he's my
Most of the reviews here appear to be talking about the wrong JB HiFi store, so there seems to be some confusion!! There are 3 JB HiFi stores on Elizabeth Street. The one at 239 Elizabeth Street specialises in computers, printers and
Overall, I am deeply disappointed with the JB Hi-Fi customer service and warranty support provided by her Manager. Their lack of responsiveness, lengthy response times, and insistence on unnecessary requirements have left me feeling
Not at all helpful - online it said the store had stock When we couldn't find the item I asked staff member who showed us where they should be. He didn't even look the item up on computer to check if any in stock so we walked out
Was asking one of the guy when checking out if they can send the receipt to my email address and he was vey impatient and said very rudely they can only do SMS. Not sure why he lost his temper, very bad customer experience.
Visited the store to buy a new phone. Lisa helped me with my purchase. She was very friendly and helpful, walked away with everything I needed. The products were reasonably priced and there was a great range of choice.
Had a nice dude help me out. The store was cool it had double story’s. The elevator that the store members used to bring stuff down from upstairs definetly got the 5 star review though. Was a cool little system
Best place for gadgets and electronics. Click and collect is down the back of some sketchy alley. Luckily they’re only open during daylight hours so you’ll be robbed in broad daylight and are them coming.
Decent service but perhaps staff could be kept up to date about specials/vouchers a bit better. Had to ask them to provide a voucher that I was entitled to with my phone purchase as they were unaware.
Conviniently located in CBD, massive store with heaps of deals. Can get real busy, but staff are there if you need a hand. Cameras and photography stuff few doors away and seperated from electronics.
Great service but you shall need to check the prices online as well for the product they are selling. Don't know why but they do errors while pricing things in shop. Lol. Great place to finda goods.
Had a great deal long ago, bought a new vacuum, which was recommended by the staff (Scott w) great knowledge and explanation on machine. If you want good service look for this dude, best deals too.
Feels more spacious than other JB stores but probably because there are 2 (or is it 3) JB stores on Elizabeth Street and they sell different things in each stores, with a little overlap.
Helpful staff and were patient with me as i was replacing a fitbit band for my sister i dodnt know what kind of fitbit it waa but they helped me and 10/10 would come here again
amazing customer service by chris and mitchell :). managed to get my number transferred to a new phone with no hassles and got a great deal on said phone + accessories.
Great customer service at Elizabeth St Melbourne....got my laptop serviced and also while shopping for accessories they make good suggestions to take care investment
Nice outlet in the heart of the city. People are very cooperative. Inventory is usually good. You can keep an eye on discounts and offers to get the best buy.
The guy at the counter who wears makeup is terrible. His attitude and his tone towards customers is so bad. He doesn’t know how to do customer service …
Well, the staff and the store are very nice. Found the item I'm looking for but can't afford it. Hahaha! Hopefully, they go on sale and offer discounts!
The clerk had a bad attitude and lied to customers that they couldn't use Afterpay. It's almost time to get off work, and the attitude is super bad.
I always find this store helpful when im needing help with audio cords etc. They really do know their products and helped me a lot over the years.
Customer service was excellent! I waited in the long queue to buy my stuff, until a legend pulled me out of the line to serve me. Will come again!
The cashier there is bit rude no greeting or even say a word when I go there and pay for my items, not even say a thank you . no manner at all.
Wide range of electronic products at reasonable prices, you can spend hours just browsing (for fun). Goods customer service helps as well.
Thanks to Dan for selling me an awesome new Sony TV last weekend during the sale, to replace the LG one you sold me in 2018!!
Great store where you can find almost anything. And if its photography related they have a partner store down the road.
One or two customers in the shop and not one staff member has time to tell me what floor DVDs are on. Lifts busted too
I usually buy my electric stuff from this branch, and I can tell their personal are so nice, helpful and respectful.
We visited JB HiFi Elizabeth Street, Melbourne Sunday morning with an issue regarding my phone which was rectified.
5 star review for Callan. Great customer service, made our purchase feel super easy with no hassles. Thanks!
Sometimes it is hard to get ahold of customer service but when you do they are very friendly and helpful.
I was assisted by a man named Jordan. Really nice guy. He treated me awesomely. Thanks man. Appreciated!
Excellent store. Well laid out. The click and collect experience is so good. Usually ready in 10 mins.
Busy store on a busy street but the service was helpful and friendly. Not one of the bigger J.B stores
A man served me name nick very bad behaviour rude and disgusting a security guard is better than him
Pretty good selection of cds and dvds. Perhaps more staff on the registers rather than “primping”
Very good collection of items, quick services and friendly staff members. Will visit again soon.
Go to JB HIFI for all things electronic. It's always worth asking them to better their price
They have a lot of goodies and once I have enough money I will buy gaming laptops
Staff here very helpful assisted with the questions I had about certain products.
Helpful staff, not given any deals though but we've done ok in the past …
Good price and services. Special shoutout to Chris for going above and beyond
Service was good staff were enthusiastic to assist, couldnt ask for more.
Gud in deals lot of options to choose from best in Melbourne for deals
A general electronics store. They had what I needed. They had a lot.
Fantastic service here - bought a Ninja blender and it is great too
Staff were helpful and store wasn't as crowded at Melbourne Central
Big thank you to James, great help when I was lost. Cheers James!
Great range of products and friendly staff very good experience
Elizabeth street store a lot less busy than Melbourne Central.
Bought a wifi mouse that did not work. Was given a replacement
Can't get a simple delivery sent out and have to get it myself
Very helpful and quick service highly recommended.
The staff were more lost than I was at the store.
Good store overall. Need more inventory though.
No staff available....so walked out
Good Jb Hi Fi! Staff really nice!
