"Quite a lot of Indian staff with very poor personal hygiene"
"NO HAND SANITISER in such a large busy Metro!! I asked a cashier and she directed me to an aisle to buy some"
"Staff have no idea what they are doing or how the shop actually operates"
Good sized store with a decent range of products. However, I bought three items today and two of them were on special, so I thought I was getting a good price. Out of curiosity, I checked online afterwards and I would've saved a lot more if I went to a non-Metro Woolies. The transaction if I went to a full-sized Woolies would've been around $20, and the purchase today was $30, so a 50% increase! Ridiculous. I understand that rents are higher in the city and a lot of the customer base is more affluent, but there are also a lot of disadvantaged people around the Valley who may not be able to get to a full-sized Woolies. In future I'll check any specials online when I spot them at this Woolies Metro, then travel elsewhere to take advantage of these discounts.
staff in the self checkout area is absolutely hopeless. There’s this Indian employee who is extremely slow and takes forever to fix on screen issues. He doesn’t seem to care about people’s time or needs at all. He keeps walking to the door area talking to the security area and flirt with the lady in there. I had to witness all this drama and missed my train as well. Please give a raise to that Asian boy (Japanese/Chinese) who is always running around and prompt to help customers. What a gem comparing to these lazy employees in the checkout area.
Quite a lot of Indian staff with very poor personal hygiene. I avoid going down any aisle with a staff member in it because of the horrible strench. I wouldn't buy anything from here that wasn't preprocessed and packaged before it entered the store as the thought of such people handling my food when they're apparently unable to use a shower or come to work in clean clothes is unappealing to say the least. I highly doubt they even wash their hands after using the toilet when they can't even wash themselves before they go to work. Disgusting.
NO HAND SANITISER in such a large busy Metro!! I asked a cashier and she directed me to an aisle to buy some. I told her I was shocked there is no public sanitiser in the store considering there is presently a Covid outbreak in Brisbane. She replied “we have tried to order some but “they won’t give us any”. Please Woolworths Metro, be considerate of older shoppers and immune compromised customers. You make so much profit and can’t supply sanitizer or, wipes for shopping baskets, to your shoppers!? Not good enough!
Staff have no idea what they are doing or how the shop actually operates. It took 3 staff to decide the price of cat food was wrong (I mean, it's literally on the shelf ticket..?) and then didn't even put it through at the correct amount anyway. Not the first time it's happened either. Should probably give your staff actual training in how to do the job they're being paid for, especially if they are the "manager"?
What with the ridiculous high prices and the location AND the traffic of VALLEY METRO don't ya think you oughta open a little earlier and close later? Coles New Farm closes at 10:30PM! C'mon! Very limited selection, they have some basics but that's pretty much it. IGA New Farm is way better, in fact with the prices this high at Woolworths they should have just put an IGA in this spot! Better quality too. Thumbs Down...
Woolworths at foratude valley has hurt my feelings and emotions and discriminate against my very very very very very very very biggest challenge rare voice Christine disability in the whole would Australia and beyond for life amen in the future coming pray they Rob my refund from the gife card didn't work the man in the black cloth es don't believe in Jesus name amen and I can get refund from other shops creal would
My favourite Woolies. Super convenient location in Valley Metro, Fortitude Valley Train Station. The staff are helpful and friendly. They stock most things I need. It's a great place for me to grab fresh fruit, nuts and dried fruits, for morning and afternoon tea, and they have some yummy healthy ready to eat salad bowls for lunch. I love the staff. Thanks for looking after me.
They have an eating area at their coffee shop. 6 seats. It's good and actually is nice to sit at and eat. Asked for a serviette. Provided with a metre strip of paper towel. Not the shop assistants call there's no serviettes my available. I know my reaction provoked the free roll of the eyes when I was given the metre long piece of paper towel, sorry about that.
I had my doubts when they closed down the old supermarket next to the valley station but this little Woolies always has some great deals and actually have a decent range too. Their fruit and veg isle is always good despite suffering from the occasional supply issues like all the other Woolworths. Staff are also friendly and helpful.
Massive queues due to clueless guy checking everyone’s bag at exit. I walked in and walked right out and he insisted on looking in my bag despite the gate being still open from me walking in. Surely woolys can do better than bringing in the guy who seems he struggled making it past primary school to slow everything down.
Woolworth are running TV ads asking people to wear masks and say their staff are. What a joke. Visited the store yesterday and Sunday and at least two male staff with masks not on properly. Nose needs to be covered too? Are the young males too proud or cool to fully wear a mask?
Great store with a good range of fresh foods and ready to go meals ...but the coffee counter service is painfully slow. 5 minutes just to take the order (consisting of 2 coffees), another 10 minutes to make it... and there weren't that many
Just opened up across the road from me. Saves me having to walk to turbot street all the time now. Although I will have to order my baby formula on the website as they don't stock many options, but that's ok. Overall fantastic little bakery
It's certainly been worth the wait, and a much needed and appreciated addition to the Valley Metro. The coffee shop, bakery, hot food section (amazing variety's & affordable), plus the sushi station; is a welcome sight when the only other
This is Woolworths Metro Convenience store and not Supermarket. The increase prices and small range of goods compared to a regular Woolworths Supermarket reflect that. It is currently incorrectly labeled on google maps as 'supermarket'.
Friendly staff here that are very easy to talk too, wide variety of goods available as well as being air conditioned, but from my experience this Woolworths doesn't stock their hot foods very often which is disappointing.
Excellent store, and excellent shopping experience! I came here to visit Brisbane all the way from Canada, and I absolutely love shopping here! I will always be a shopper here for life, no matter when I'm in Australia!
Pretty bad that the supermarket charges double what the food outlets and convenience stores do. I just noted $5.05 for a 600ml coke and $3.60 for a small bottle of water. No large bottles.
With all the price gouging and inflation that has happened over the last few years, this store still somehow charges 20-30% more for the same products that are in full Woolworths stores.
Cashier Emily is such a beautiful person! I came in with a broken shoe and she offered to fix it straight away. I am extremely grateful for her kindness and wish her all the best …
Thank you woolwotths for finally putting this on fortitude valley! Something local residents much needed! This store is great, good range of food both to prepare yourself, snacks and
Often running off stocks for the very basics (bread, veggies, fruits, frozen veggies) - if you “need” essentials, chances are you won’t find it here. The staff is friendly
Rac!st staff? I was in line for checkout, the cashier (her name tag said Virginia) gave me judging look look from head to toe, and serving this Caucasian lady, they were
I would have dedicated a whole fridge to water this week due to Ekka. You would have sold a pallet of your own branded water today but instead you had none in sight.
Very clean considering the location. Staff are very helpful and tolerant. As with most Metro Woolworths they don't have everything, but most of the everyday stuff.
Great range of produce, cheese and all the things you would want for a work lunch, weekend bbq or morning tea. Very impressive on how many products they stock.
Conveniently located. Store is laid out well but staff struggle to know the difference between tomatoes & red capsicum. Over charged and not able to get refund
Lovely Staff in all areas. Friendly, quick and know what they are doing. Products are dropping a little but you get what you can get. Not their fault.
Beautiful store very clean and Ailes very neat and staff very friendly and young security guard at store always says hello to you …
I dropped my jar of lotus speculoos 1 m outside the store. I didn't get a new one from them. unfriendly staff and not customer friendly
It's more economical to eat at KFC across the way. Staff are friendly though, despite having to deal with WOW management (:
Goon operating self serve looking for trouble. Targeting vunrable.Sadly in most cases, other staff will get the reprisals.
Handy af. Surprising full range for store this size and much much more useful then store that it's replaced.
They were closed at 7:30. This place is a shame. I have drove more than 20 minutes and paid 12$ for parking
How can you so completely and regularly mess up coffee orders. For goodness sake!
Update your opening hours already my god, waste peoples time.
Jo is a legend. She definitely deserves a pay rise
