"I went shopping to this place, this Wednesday"
"The best supermarket in the city! Great location and super convenient"
"Best Woolworths around"
"Very busy store during the week as you get all the office staff within the Brisbane CBD area"
"They have a pretty good selection of pre-prepared food for takeaway and health food"
I went shopping to this place, this Wednesday. Place has good shopping options, well lit, bigger store in comparison to others near by. For some reason lots of self serve machines were turned off on enquiring the person, she said there were some technical problems and they were working on it. Although I am not a big fan of self serve I was pleasantly surprised at the care taken to direct me to corner self serve machine by Manu, customer support person since I was with a baby and a big shopping. She was pleasant without being intrusive and also helped with putting through items of same kind personally. Kudos to Woolworths for training your people well, I can get used to self serve if you provide such personal care. Delighted customer. Keep up the good work.
The best supermarket in the city! Great location and super convenient. I go here at least once a week, in between work, during lunch break or after work. The store is big, clean, well stocked with a great layout so I can easily find what I need. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. I also appreciate their pick-up-at-the-store service in addition to delivery! I once left a paid bouquet of flowers at the self check out counter, forgot about it until I got home. I called them and the staff told me she found it and kept it, so I could come back to pick the bouquet up. Stress free. Also, during the Covid-19 lockdowns, this Woolies was always fully stocked, clean and they followed the SOP well. Thank you!
Best Woolworths around. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Food is great with lots of healthy organic food choices, which are constantly expanding. I’m impressed. Woolworths does it’s research and is up to date with the changing dietary requirements of health conscious people today. Woolworths caters for all. The recent renovations at Woolworths Macarthur are a vast improvement. There’s more room to get around, obviously a lot of thought/planning went into logically setting out and placing stock. With more self serve registers making it easy to get out quickly, while still offering the personal touch with lots of friendly staff available to assist.
Very busy store during the week as you get all the office staff within the Brisbane CBD area. If you want to avoid the rush not a good time to visit between 12 to 2 however in saying that staff have this store running extremely well and definitely customer focused. During the busy rush the will often have two staff operating/assisting the self help making it flow that much faster. Store is generally cleaned and well stocked including fresh flowers, sushi made fresh on premises and hot food such as chicken tenders, hot chips, chicken wings. Store is located in close vicinity of the cbd, just down the road of the Queen Street mall.
They have a pretty good selection of pre-prepared food for takeaway and health food. Their staff was the worst part of the shopping experience. Some were okay (just barely nice enough), others were scathing and rude. If I had to go here again (and, I’d rather not, to be honest), I’d avoid the staff like the plague. Unfortunately, that seems to be par for the course. I’ve had lots of bad experiences with shop staff in the area. Coles was one of the exceptions. The staff I spoke to were really nice. It’s unfortunate they didn’t have more of a health food section. If they had, I would never have gone to Woolworths to begin with.
Wow, what lousy service - I presented by everyday card to the asian chap at the counter (no good morning nor smile), he just points to the MACHINE to tap it myself, having never had to do that before, I was taken aback as I don't usual visit this store and then I asked if I could get $15 out, and he said he didn't have enough in his till to give me that - I found that hard to believe when they start off with a float amount. Bad form to have a person that clearly does not want to display great customer service. He was unfriendly and unhelpful. Thanks for nothing!
Probably the worst deli service ever; it's not the items they stock that is the issue. It's the staff, on several occasions I have stood at the counter when there has been 2-3 people behind the counter yet I waited about 5 minutes to be served as they were too busy doing cleaning jobs or restocking. I asked one girl if they had any prosciutto left and she said "I don't know as I don't know what it actually is". The older short lady always is extremely rude as well. Definately would avoid this deli; despite that the rest of the store is alright.
The store is okay it's the down escalators I find the store to be moderately sized but it could be bigger I think it should be I regularly shop here and the most common issue I have is the self serve almost always you will have a long line to wait to get to the self serve itself there is not much room overall it's a woolies it serves it's purpose but it really does lack in layout even the aisles are quite narrow when the staff are stocking it blocks foot traffic I much prefer the Myer center Coles however this tends to be a bit more convenient
Super convenient, full sized supermarket in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. This place is always clean, well stocked and with plenty of staff to assist. Escalators on both sides and a taxi rank out front with buses and trains within a quick stroll. Perfect for grabbing last minute supplies to take home after work. They also do a great value 1/4 chicken and chips or chips and gravy for $5. And absolute 'winner winner, chicken dinner' moment. Multiple contact scanning QR codes at the door to stop the usual line up trying to get in.
Very well laid out supermarket, always clean and tidy and the staff are always busy sticking shelves with fresh produce and goods, always great selection. And finding things are very easy as the staff are always helpful and know were items are. Shop is undergoing few changes but they have managed the inconevince very well with very little distraction to customers, when using self checkouts they are plentyfull and not congested staff are selling to help you out if you need it. Deffintly my store of choice in the city
Manager is Fiona. Very approachable and interactive. The store contact number on receipts is deceptive if you can't actually contact the store. If you advertise it, answer it. I called to tell them my 12pk cinnamon don't pack had the 6pk sticker on it and to check remaining stock on display so they dont loose revenue. They transferred my call through to bakery, I explained, they simply responded "OK, thanks" and THEY hung up. Good deeds just go unnoticed in today's busy world.
truly outraged by Aislinn!! what a HORRIBLE person. last sunday i went in, and was confused about a products price. I had asked her, and she gave me the WORST attitude!! she brushed me off like i was trash, shrugged her shoulders and continued to speak to a skinny male who worked near yogurts! She made me feel like my question was invalid and had a rude and vulgar attitude! i won't be coming back because of the greasy blonde hair girl, called Aislinn!!! terrible store!
Watched a guy place over 100 dollars worth of meat in his bag, told the security guard just after he left like he was 1 meter out and heard me , she looked at me like she did not speak English, i the restated what I said but she was foreign and did not know understand, I then told one of ya staff members, he just laughed at me…. Your locked gates will do nothing .. we have to pay extra for these ducks stealing and u staff don’t care
I recently bought a ladies bike at MacArthur store after going several bike shops. The those shops showed little interest. I have to say these people were wonderful I had to go back yesterday as a stand was not in the deal. I rang and ask about getting a stand and having it fitted. The young man Cooper was brilliantly he lowered the seat pit the stand on and I was thrilled thank you phone ladies and the whole team so grateful
A nice basic Woolworths in the CBD. Good selection for people who live in the city, those who are visiting and need food items and city workers who need to pick up the essentials on their way home. Not the full selection you will find in a suburban Woolworths, but a decent range to meet the needs of their diverse customer base. Store is a little cramped and disorganised for my taste. It can be hard to find what you need.
Terrible. Could not refund me for a gift card I bought with 2 letters at the beginning of the code missing or even replace it. Ended up having to guess them myself. Kept getting told to contact the card merchant but would have been useless as I would get automated unhelpful email responses back. Surely could have done something for me even while I had the receipt, but "wasn't their problem" even after purchasing.
I was directed to this store, as it is a larger store and has more produce available to choose from. I was searching for a brand of milk and vitamins that was not available in the smaller metro store. Success! I was able to find what I was after in the larger supermarket, I a also bought a small bottle of cold orange juice, which went down well with my home made lunch. It was worth walking three blocks.
Seems everything is higher prices than other Woollies but what I understand is the prices are the same across the country. If inflation is the cause I’m pleased this chain seem committed to reducing the cost on their customers. Over all store is very busy and the isles are full of staff restocking. 3/5 because the shelves could have been tidy more than they where on Sunday last hour of trading.
DECENT RANGE AT THIS WOOLLIES Woolworths is everywhere and can be relied on for quality and range. This store is in Brisbane CBD and consequently does offer a slightly bigger range of reday to go / prepare meals. Its in the same complex as a Big W but the entry is on the next street. Its on the lower ground floor (accessible via a set of escalators for people with mobility issues).
Super kool place in the city with efficient staff and large choice. Love the deli with hot food ( chicken, chips, nuggets) as well as the sweet stuff. Prices low and well with easy self checkout that we always perfer. Building also has washrooms just outside the supermarket. Criss the road and there's a nice grassy area front of the post office to enjoy the deli and salads.
Sad to see so many changes but at least they didn't pull the building down. Such a beautiful building. Renovation work looks good until you see the individual stores. Would be nice to see companies like Woolworths blend with their surroundings rather than making the building bend to Woolworths's will. On that note, prices are higher here which is disappointing.
Great sized woolies in the city if you need a good range of lunch options or groceries in general. The hot food section is such good value for money if you want a cheap lunch. $5 chicken and chips is such great value it’s hard to beat if you are looking for a great value cheap lunch in the city. There is also a sushi bar so plenty of great options.
It is a fantastic supermarket. Very big, with a lot of variety to buy. the payment service is modern and automatic. You have self-pay boxes. In this supermarket you can find basic things for the house, as important food for the day to day. They are in the center of the city. You can get there by bus, car or walk if you live nearby.
Always friendly people in the supermarket and at the checkout we always have a quick chat. What more can I say, I am there at 7am every Monday and Wednesday and never had a complaint and I am the classic winger if there is anything wrong so they are definitely doing something right lol In one word great and outstanding staff...
I was disturbed to witness a young lady stuffing multiple cans of Rexona into her bag. I tried to point it out to 2 different staff but did nothing. I am astonished that there is no duty of care and a lack of security. Chroming Rexona is a massive problem this is not helping when there is no deterrent to stop the Offenders.
As is not too far from the airport and next to the dfo, customers are in rash. Most of the clients are working in the dfo. It's so useful and amazing to be able to go to the shop during your 30-minute break. I gave 4 stars because there isn't a deli inside like in others that makes fresh meals or sushi ...
Love U for life amen Jesus name amen dandy Walker syudrome mobility scooter every Day from the future coming pray and very happy life amen in the future coming pray and very stressfree in Jesus name amen dandy Walker syudrome mobility scooter every day happy life amen in the future coming pray
This grocery store has the largest selection of items in the CBD. I am always finding something new and excited to try! All the sections are massive, even the pet food /products! They also have a large amount of self checkouts which are great for quick shopping trips on a lunch break.
Decent supermarket. Clean, well laid out, good signage. Staff at checkouts are helpful, but there are not many staff throughout the store. They still have a decent range, and most basics are covered, despite shipping difficulties during covid times. Prices are still competitive also.
Love This store. Cooked food available very early so you can pick up your lunch on the way to work. Check the weekly specials. Lots of staff around so if you can't find something, someome is nearby. Love the daily hand made sushi. Huge selection of lovely cheeses, salami's.
Can the self-service checkout staff not yell at people… I think most people have eyes and can see when a checkout is free… especially the old Caucasian man with grey hair… like yelling and screaming and people and invading their person space …it isn’t a childcare centre…
Smaller than many other Woolworths located in the suburbs. But one can find things that are needed for a quick shop. May not be suitable for the weekly groceries for a family. There is no free parking available here and being in city the parking is expensive too.
Busy but heaps and heaps of checkouts so you don't have to wait long at all. Great selection and have a bit of hot food for lunch time. The fruit seems to be a bit fresher than normal woolworths because of the higher turn over of stock from how busy it is.
I wonder just what level of customer training their staff get in this store. Im 60 & twice ive been called 'Darlin' & 'Hun' by at the self check out staff. Its not that im offended yet this is the best presentation of corporate customer interaction ?
I regularly shop here but yesterday an attendant refused to refund a $9 dried dog food that my dog refused to eat (had bought 2 packets) claiming I couldn’t “change my mind “. Really! Is this Woolworths policy?? (I did eventually get a refund)
Been really happy with the experience here. Alexi in particular has been a great asset to the team. Very helpful, kind and positive. Made it such an easy process to get my bulk order done! It's lovely to have people on hand who are so helpful.
Best supermarket in the inner city & fortitude valley. Good range overall, however fresh produce is a bit limited. Very busy at peak hours - lunch time and when most people finish work. Staff clearly work hard to keep things on the shelves.
Good size store for a CBD location. You won't find larger packs of meat here like you would at a non-CBD location. Lots of reduced to clear items if that's your thing. Biggest frustration is that there are no trolleys available here.
Really good supermarketand so convenient in the CBD. Great range of products and produce. Unlike some others in the city, they actually have the advertised and catalogue specials. Staff are generally very friendly and helpful too.
Living in city for 12 months. This Metro Woolworths Supermarket is just so easy. Fresh meat, fresh veges precooked meals. Best of all staff are so accommodating & I get a free coffee if my order is over $30. Pat Bradshaw
The store is adequately large enough to have all the necessary items one will need including other items like houseplants, flowers and their own bakery. It is quite spacious and items are easy to find with the signages.
The service i got from one of the deli members was awful, a blonde girl was being rude and short terrible service. The service from one of the other girls, the medium height girl with short black hair was wonderful.
Convenient supermarket right in the city. Always very busy but has a large self service checkout area so the lines move very quickly. At lunchtime you can grab sushi or hot chicken and chips for a reasonable price.
If you live or work in the CBD these guys have $5 quarter chicken chips and gravy... Best deal ever. Chips and Chicken and great but the gravy is freaking amazballs good.go spend a 5er and see for yourself...
Very convenient location. A well stocked fresh fruit and vegetables market. Stocks are constantly on the improve with so many prices improving. Always helpful staff. A worthy credit to staff and management.
Great store but social distancing was pretty much non existence. Everyone was masked though. They has everything we needed and more. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful and friendly. Kudos.
4pm Sundays stupid sell out prices for seafood. Today $10kg cooked spanner crabs, whole snapper, snapper fillets and salmon fillets. Sweet. And the register staff are always lovely chatty friendly
My favourite supermarket in the city however today I had a bad experience at the deli with an older Caucasian lady who served me! She was so very rude! she either hates her life or her work!
Huge supermarket in the CBD. The bread from the bakery is on the next level. No other bread from other Woolworths comes close! Apart from the medicine aisle it is generally well stocked too
Best mainstream supermarket in the city. Full range and far better prices than the two Coles stores. The self-checkout system has also improved so the lines move quicker now at peak times.
Has everything a normal suburban store has. Staff are always very helpful and know product locations in store. Great place to pick up a quick breakfast or lunch prior to heading to work.
Very busy store during the lunch rush but well fitted with easy self serve checkouts. Lots of fresh made options and wide variety of groceries not always found in the suburban locations.
Stare at me in the self-service and check that I scan everything. In fact I never underpaid once, no trust here, this is the only shop where things like this happen. I'm not a thief!!!
Very large, spacious, well set out supermarket. Definitely has the best selection of products out of all the inner city supermarkets. You will definitely find everything you need here.
Well stocked large Woollies in the heart of the CBD. Friendly staff (especially the sushi chefs who always say hello with a smile) and lots of self serve checkouts. Recommended.
Go here all the time, never had a problem with the store - except for maybe the absence of those wheelie baskets they used to have. Good store and Big W is just upstairs too.
Convenient to grab those essentials, whilst wanting an in and out before the news starts Please keep the stock loaded, particular my favourite chocolate. …
Good place for a quick shop, is well stocked & usually get in & out quickly. There are plenty of self check outs & the staff are usually pleasant & helpful
Woolworths and Metro are the places where I buy all my groceries and many more. They have a Rewards program, weekly specials and always 1/2 price offers.
This is a great supermarket - much bigger than others in the city and had much more variety than I expected! Would come here again for sure!
Lots of self service tills and open later than most of the surrounding shops. Handy for sandwiches and snacks if staying in nearby hotel.
City convenience, great store plenty of fresh food products . Generally busy but plenty of checkouts (self-service or service assisted ).
If I can, I don't want to give any star. There are many things that are not available, and the attitude of the staff is also very bad.
1 Aug 2022 Woolworths Macarthur Shoplifter drank Breaka chocolate milk and left the container on fridge shelf (upper right of photo)
Sometimes going to this Woolworth, and the little extra surprises are also sold here and makes it convenient when I am in the city.
A reasonably good Woolies although the bakery tends to be a little bit lacking in this one. Good for your main weekly shop though.
One of the only grocery stores open decently late and has early starts. They really do have fresh fruit - lifesavers lol.
Good Store! Sahal was very helpful and he provided all the required information, it was a good shopping experience.
I met one of the most awesome staff by the name of Brodie at the checkout counter. Keep up the good work, mate!
This is my favourite Woolworths. Awesome staff. Loads of bargins and all of my favourite foods in one place.
Love this place. Staff are always kind and friendly. Can also get a good bargain sometimes. Can't fault it!
Very busy place, DO NOT park in the complex, it's very, very expensive, Woolies had everything I needed.
Sushi and hot chips! Always busy but good for lunchtime city workers who need to grab anything....
Elijah was such a friendly and helpful member of staff when I needed assistance. Hats off to him!
Extremely busy store, however great layout. Self-service checkouts are spacious. Excellent Sushi
Great grocery store right in the heart of the city. A little expensive but worth it!!!
Good selection of take away foods and general groceries for an inner city location
great place to grab readymade sushi - salads and hot snack foods... fast service
Staff are friendly and the store is well organised with plenty of checkouts.
Well stocked store. Lots of registers. Good shopping experience found here.
Little dimly lit but plenty of self serve if you like that sort of thing.
Easy to access the store, plenty of self checkouts, and a wide selection.
Very convenient in the CBD has great lunch options with fresh made Sushi
A good selection of products. The layout was ok. Helpful staff.
Layout is sometimes difficult but good range for a city store.
GOOD SPACE with bank, food, groceries, chemist, Dr, apparel
Do most of my shopping there got most of the things I need
Best place for All your groceries , prices are cheap too.
Best place in the neighborhood for a decent grocery run
Bought some great pants very cheap and great quality
