Worst customer service ever. If there is zero star I can choose, I would rather give negative. Shopped to Coles tonight, the duty manager Brayden refused to sell us the promo “Home gift card” to our family, he insisted “one family can only buy 5 promo gift cards, no matter how many people you come together”. We just took 7 gift cards total value of $330. Then we went to take the photo on the promo banner, it states “limit 5 cards per customer”. We got confused, and went back to the customer service desk and showed him the photo we took. He was so arrogant and rude, said to us” I can read, you can read by yourself, I represent Coles, what I said is what company wants us to do, I’m telling you, we won’t sell you 7 gifts cards no matter three of you or whatever.” We asked him to have a look on the banner or the photo we took, he won’t even give a look. If Coles doesn’t wanna sell the promo gift cards to customers for Black Friday promotion, just save the money on the advertisement, and use those money to help the people who are really in need.

Boycott this store. They have been renovating and not getting in new products. Now they are closed at 7 p.m. without anynotice at all and I've watched about 60 people in the last 20 minutes go in there and be turned away by a security guard. Coles does not deserve that business. A very basic simple thing to do would be inform peopleor better still manage the renovation outside of business hours like every other business does. If I wasn't carrying heaps of luggage with me, I would have dragged that security guard by his hair to the store manager who would have sold me a packet of cigarettes that cannot be bought at any other store at this time of night. Coles are going to pay me for my wasted time tonight. and they are going to be paying for a lot more security and a lot more cleaning. I encourage every single person that enters into that shop to remove at least a full shopping trolley full of Frozen goods from the freezer and put it near the hot chickens before starting their grocery shop

What disgusting customer service we received. We arrived at coles at 5:30pm for the first time tonight as we just moved into the area from new farm. Unaware that this store closes at 6pm on a Sunday where as new farm store closes at 9pm. We had done half our shopping when a rude coles personal lady came around and told us that the store was closing. We were basically told to stop shopping and go to the cashiers and leave the store. If they wanted to stop people coming in, they should have half closed the doors at 17h30 and that would have indicated that there are just about to close or announced over the intercom that they would be closing shortly. Just because of that I will shopping at Aldi from now on which is just down the road.

It’s always busy regardless of the day/time, so I suggest using Google Map’s “popular times” graph to find the least busy time slot. The staff are helpful & are kept on their toes, the shelves are often under stocked due to the high numbers who frequent this store & it can be difficult getting around other shoppers- the aisles could be wider but space is limited at this store - it would be great if they expanded as West End is growing in population & this Coles store won’t cope with higher volume. Lots of variety and great bargains when products are close to their use by date end. Parking is free in the underground carpark, just remember to get your ticket validated by the customer service desk or the check out operator.

  • Josh Horosak

The Coles was alright however the parking is a complete nightmare. When we were leaving we were told the parking has to be validated even though it never has for over five years. When my ticket didn't work I was rudely informed by a parking staff person to run up stairs and validate my ticket at the Coles and that I was 'pissing people off mate! Run!' even though I was there less than two hours which is free, and he wouldnt just open the gate for me. Will not be returning again due to horrible customer service from the parking staff. Whoever changed the rules did a horrible job at organizing and I think the Coles manager needs to adress these issues because the same thing happened to nearly every car in front of us.

  • Rebecca Thompson

Shocking staffing - though that being said of the very few actually in the store there are some absolute gems. Such a limited choice of everything that i avoid going there for my big shops. opening hours just aren't good enough these days - when many stores have transitioned to longer trading hours on weekends it is frustrating that this inner city store is lagging behind. the parking here is shocking and the centres 'solution' was to have ticketed gates - which has made more congestion in the car park and hasn't made the car park any less busy. p.s. your flower selection sucks. try and take a hint from the new farm coles.

  • K V

There is only one written display telling customers which aisle products are located and this is up the back, of course if you can find it as a number of times it is covered by companies products. (Update there are none, so if you are looking for a certain product you are on your own) Also why call self serviced checkout assisted checkout? As who is assisting you? And there is what two cash checkouts, the rest are for cards only, why? PS The person who mentioned a Newsagent and Baker's Delight, should know they are no longer there especially as the Newsagent closed many months ago.

There is a lot of construction going on at present but everything is still open. I went Friday early afternoon during lockdown and it was thankfully fairly quiet so I could buy a few essentials and feel relatively safe. But people of West End - seriously, the mask goes over your nose as well as your mouth! Stop putting our heroic essential service workers, many of whom are too young to get a vaccine against COVID, at risk because you refuse to follow instructions. All praise to our checkout operators and shelf stackers! You deserve a pairwise, as well as a vaccine.

  • Matthew Gamble

If I could rate this less than 1 star this Coles would get zero stars. Each time I come here I am reminded how bad customer service can be. Not only is the store horribly laid out and the stock dismal, the workers simply do not care about the customers. Once the Woolworths opens next door Coles will lose significant market share in West End and will be scratching their heads wondering what went wrong (i.e. everything). This is the worst Coles I have ever been to and will drive an additional 20 minutes just to go to a different store.

  • zac

rude as people working i went to buy a few simple things on click and collect and they missed 2 items... and forgot to bag it which i paid for i got it refunded online but its annoying also not enough people working in the self serve area also try not to approach the building from the side exit lots of water damage (on the exit ceiling) look up when exiting the building water damage which leads to mould (been there over 2 years now) damaging health for years to come.. should be replaced espesally straight away when mould is present!

Coles West End in the Soda Factory is not usually crowded and there's a lottt of variety of #Gluten free products in sauces, meats etc but not much in the Ready foods. They've got a good variety of # Gluten Free breakfast cereals, dry pasta etc. The quality and variety of the meats look good. I have yet to try it though. I did try a 7 minute slow cooked Beef Ragu which was quite tasty. They have some easy quick cook meals which is useful especially if you are staying in a service apartment.

  • An Angel

Been a loyal customer for 7 years and shopped today at your store. On checkout I asked the lady if she could change $20 for me. was told you don't do it ?! When I told her the others do and so does the other branches she just ignored it. Is this good customer service west end Coles?? I think I will go to a different store. Very poor customer service and I cannot believe this new policy ( if it was true) or probably more like lazy and can't be bothered attitude of your staff member

  • Mercurialwolf “MERCURIALWOLF” LiamCrouch

I love the layout of this Coles.. being an "in/out shopper" it's perfect for me. The staff are friendly& helpful& parking is not a problem due to underground & above ground parking spaces. I like the fact it's open 7 days a week as it means I can always run down to Coles & grab whatever it is that Im in need of vs spending astronomically bumped up prices offered at the local corner store.. Always a pleasant shopping experience thanks Coles West End

  • Bob Marely

An in detail review of coles. For a coles, a little on the smaller side but doesn't miss out on anything. A good butchery which has knowledgeable staff on different cuts and recommendations. Friendly bakery staff who allowed me to snag some fresh bread On entrance your presented with the fruits and vegetables which is always nice, because you can spend your budget before getting to the Lollie alisle. No plastic bags now which is great!

  • Chris Gray

Hours reduced during reno without notifying public until a security guard informed you at the door which was an inconvenience. Many customers have deserted this store...they ran advertising trucks around West End promoting themselves but it was too late. Self serve checkouts were broken for awhile recently. If you shop for 4 hours in the centre it's a $40 parking fee...the new 'Ice Cream Factory open across the road shortly, bring it on!!

  • R. Keung

Unfortunately there were half eaten packets of food/drink, and stains on some of the product packaging through the store. Range of fresh produce was not very fresh either which is the main reason for the rating as the potatoes I bought and used on the same day were rotten on the inside. I had trouble finding things as the layout was odd. Staff member at checkouts was not rude but not talkative either which wasn't an issue.

  • Kathryn Mellick

Fresh produce not always fresh. Seafood selection limited. Health food range limited compared to other Coles stores eg New Farm. Limited and unimpressive range of organic food, products and produce choices. Many items out of stock on a regular basis. Centre and store badly needs renovating, maintenance and cleaning - it is a depressing dingy atmosphere and doesn’t feel particularly safe. Staff generally very nice.

  • Domicella Meldere

Staff is amazing and they do them best to keep place clean but it's hard because of some people who come in with dirty hands which haven't been washed for a week, thanks god for covid time because at least it allowed to tell some people to clean hands or stay out of the shop. All the best to Coles staff West End, and please don't give up on cleaning, it's been appreciated even if no one have said much. Thank you.

  • Spaceman Leo

A very badly designed carpark the main driveway is also used by the delivery trucks. The delivery trucks have the hardest driveway in Australia to drive into restock the Coles and when they do, it impeads all local traffic causing major distruptions. If smaller trucks made the deliveries COLES would not cause chaos to all local traffic. I have stopped shopping there due to, no front entry and the bad carpark.

  • Andrew MacGregor

Coles was as to be expected. But try and get out of the undercover carpark was a nite mare. If 1 driver gets things wrong and takes their time in getting past the boom gate then this ends up being a glow on affect to all the drivers behind them. This then makes your existing delayed and then they try and charge you an extra $5 ti leave. Very frustrating and not worth parking thete agsin

  • Jennifer Muñoz

The worse supermarket ever. Not only they're in renovations since.. (always??) but now they've completely closed the outdoors parking. So where are we people with high clearance cars supposed to park now and until when exactly?? A reminder that your indoors carpark it's just 2.05m clearance (not too normal BTW) At least you could setup a sign or something outside geniuses!!

  • KERRYLEE O'BRIAN

I love Coles at West End the staff are very friendly and helpful and they always make sure that you leave the supermarket a happy person and I have everything I need even toilet paper during this 3 day lockdown, that's good P R skills and Coles was more than ready for a rush of customer's and the isles were packed and ready for anything so GO COLES WEST END 4101

  • Isabella Creagh

On the smaller side, but it has predominantly everything you'd need for a quick shop. The place does look dated and in need of a facelift. If you can dodge the sales person or charity worker that stands in the middle of centre before you get to the Cloe's entrance than you'll be fine. If your parking underneath get your ticket validated if you stay over 2hrs.

  • Michaela Anson

Today my 16y old daughter leant on my shoulder whilst paying. The security guard said to her, "If you are giving massage can you give me one?" I smiled awkwardly. As we were leaving the shop he stood by the exit and said, "Awww no massage?" It made me uncomfortable and I felt anger as he is an adult. We said nothing but it was weird and not a nice experience.

  • Jonny Gat

There's no freshness quite like Cole's freshness. Prices are cheap and the all year round Santa Claus working at the self-service is a real character! Love the red colour scheme; reminds me of their fresh red tomatoes, the fantastic Royal Gala apples, and the blood-soaked silica packets in the pre-packaged meat aisle! Keep up the good work at this store!

  • Nic Roberto

Empty shelves. So many empty shelves. (This was written long before corona). Much later edit: How is this place still in business. Actually looking forward to the 20 new Woolworths being built. Much much later edit: Dropped the final star. Still the same. But stealing from us all with artificial inflation via corporate greed. Scum corporation.

  • Nibbles

Always has great food. Love the cookies there. Customer service is as great as you’d expect. Don’t be afraid to ask the staff any questions, they are very willing to help you out on your venture to finding what you need. Also, definitely try the eggnog they have when Christmas comes around, it’ll make you wish they had it all year round.

  • Connor O'Rourke

Great Asian variety, as well as the baked goods smell great in the morning. However the 'tap' payment function had stopped on the machine, I waited for 45-60 minutes for it to be fixed, going over every 20 minutes or so. Staff didn't tell me when it was resolved and while I was sat down feeling dizzy and ill. Wasn't the best service

  • Jen J

Cramped especially when everyone finishes their 9-5 jobs and not a huge range of products. The shopping mall and under ground car park is dirty and old and full of all sorts of odd people with problems. Would shop somewhere else if I could. Thank goodness a new woolies is being built across the road soon!

  • Nils van Wanderberts

Huge Selection of Groceries fair priced. Lots of counters to check out. Also a vast variety on vegetables and fresh fruits. Lots of meat options. Friendly staff. Several parking places in front of the store. The area feels a bit shady though with several homeless walking around. Still feels save anyhow.

  • yongmin kim

Good Coles... didn't give 5 stars because 1. Get yiur parking ticket validated for the free parking (this is a minor inconvenience if you parking down stairs). And 2. smaller sized store, and doesn't have the options of a bigger Coles. Having said that you can generally find an alternative brand.

  • Rachid Ghariss

Coles West End offers a one stop place for your shoppings. There's eveything you need from veggies, meats, breads, drinks to laundry products and bulbs. There's a carpark outside and in the basement, and sometimes it's too crowded here. There's a bottle shop and a sushi shop inside the place.

  • Rick Monk

As you would expect, Coles always delivers on a full range of products. From fresh fruit and vegetables, pre packed meats, frozen foods for your freezer, fresh milk and dairy and pretty much anything needed to fill your pantry. Don't forget to scan your Flybys card to build up your points.

  • G LANG

Today at 11.15 stopped for a few things to take to family living in the area store was OK fresh veg and fruit well stocked the big let down was the Lady on self check out not friendly quite abrupt and not helpful seems she is in the wrong job for customer service won't hurry back

  • Shane W

This place is grim. There's always a number of undesirables loitering around and invariably someone will forget to validate their parking preventing everyone from exiting. Nobody answers the intercom for 10 minutes so you're left waiting there. The sooner woolies opens the better

  • Daniel Farmer

Love getting harassed by salesmen? Come to West End Coles! They allow people to stand out front of the entrance and harass you when you try and go inside. Very pushy and rude salesmen who don’t take no for an answer or leave you alone. Would recommend getting rid of these idiots.

  • Andrew Grady

Coles West End is great - friendly staff and great range. But ever since Secure Parking introduced validated parking it has been a nightmare.... The system regularly fails and there is often a 10 minute wait to leave the car park! Unless this is fixed I will not be coming back.

  • Daniel Sinclair

Very limited product range, yet two full aisles of confections and soft drinks. I have also twice made click & collect orders to this store but seem to wait so long at the counter I feel I could do the shop normally in close to the same time. It's like what's the point?

  • Elena Rowland

We are very loyal to this supermarket. Has just had a massive renovation done so it's looking fresh. Also great bargains and who can go past the Russian lady with the blonde hair who is just the most delightful worker there. Give that woman a promotion already.

  • Sharon Baker

This is our “new” local grocery store as we have just moved to the west end. Easy to access by door or car. Has surprising amount of parking underneath as well as click and collect. It’s a full size Coles with great trading hours. Everything you would expect.

  • Dave Hillman

Anything on sale the shelves were cleaned out. This Cole's is so poorly managed for inventory. I only shop here when I have to. Can't wait for the two new Woolies to provide some much needed competition for this Cole's. Very frustrating place to shop.

  • Changyi Bo

Not sure who owns the building or who is responsible for the cleaning of the public toilets in the building. It is smelly and putrid when we take our little children to the toilet. It should be maintained at a hygiene level for all shoppers to use.

  • Mikado C

Great Coles and love how they place specials out the entrance to the store. Been going here for a year now for a treat at the bakery every now and then it's never disappointed. Stocked well and friendly staff. Always a busy store for good reason!

  • Emma W

Large variety of produce, fitting of a large store. Friendly staff, plenty of self checkout scanners. Right next door to a bottle shop, convenient for party planning. Easy to validate parking when shopping here, so parking under 2 hours is free.

  • Stewart Houghton

What has happened to the deli, especially the cut meat. A month or so ago it was great but has fallen to below acceptable at an alarming rate. If the deli is not returned to it's former standard very soon I will switch to Woolworths Annerley .

  • Gail Kelly

Today, staff polite and helpful as always. . A few things on the shelves at 4pm and very briefly there was some toilet paper. 2 weeks ago.. Empty shelves for some items and 10+ minutes in a traffic jam in the underground carpark. Just great

  • Dean Ainsworth

I like the Coles but coming in regularly from work, the hawkers that stand out the front get real annoying. I get they are raising awareness for their cause but when you go there regularly it's a covert operation just to get inside Coles.

  • Jason

Very usual Coles visit. Consistent with other stores so that makes it easy to browse. Bought some flowers which were really fresh and reasonably priced. Card selection was a bit disappointing and expensive so went elsewhere for that.

  • Roimata Cousins

Nice enough store. The raw food area in the Deli tends to smell funky incomparison to other Coles stores. Trolley wipes dispenser never gets replenished promptly. Floor staff are helpful. Checkout staff, most of them very pleasant.

  • Ambrose Kelso

Good Coles, just your average one with nothing special but nothing terrible. It's in a good little shopping centre with a bottle-o, sushi place, Butcher, pharmacy, and a few others. Alo has a city glider (60) bis stop right outside

  • N M

I'm really grateful for Coles. Great produce always farm fresh (thank you farmers), friendly and hardworking staff and how good is the Coles bakery! I love your cheesecake & chocolate eclairs. Thanks for keeping me fed and happy.

  • I am Lucky

Always low stock. No supply for the special items, mostly seafood section. Very rude and arrogant staff, no idea about anything. There was a young girl serving in Deli section on the weekend and was completely unprofessional.

  • Jace.

While clean and well staffed. Supply issues do plague this store on busier times. The layout is refreshing compared to the norm. Although if you wish to shop at peak hour, it is quite difficult to maneuver the small corners.

  • Dan Wright

This is a pretty good coles. The staff are good and what you need is normally stocked. The one critism I have is the store is a bit outdated and probably needs a renovation. More than adequate for your weekly shop though.

  • Helen McKee Taylor

Coles shopping was great but having parked inside because sign said first 3 hrs free, I got slugged $7.15 Sadly I didn't see you need to have the ticket validated at one of the shops. Oh well, lesson learned …

  • Raz Gradinaru

A good variety of food and dairy. I would’ve liked it better if it was a bit more tidier and if the fruits had a bit more freshness in them. Otherwise, location is great, good parking and the staff are friendly too.

  • Kirby _Be

The workers are friendly and you get a lots of discounts but I have to say that some fruits these days aren’t looking so good but aside from that I don’t have any other problem with going to our local near by coles.

  • Francis Nagy

A bit oldish. Needs some refurbishment. I guess it will happen when Woolworths will soon open next door. Now, four month later the cheese, bakery, meat, vegetable dept already refurbished. Much better looking now.

  • Gabriel

Good range of groceries, well-stocked and well-presented. Good customer service too. There are tables and chairs outside where one can sit awhile and have a nibble while enjoying the view of the leafy boulevard.

  • Gabrielle De La Rouge

Quite dirty looking but that could be because the building is so old. Again, they don’t replenish their stock enough! Annoying! I keep having to go to Woolworths at West Village. I think I’ll stick with Woolies

  • Aron McNamara

Suitable for a wide range of products but obviously there are limitations in speciality items like premature baby nappies and such. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Will happily go back for food items

  • Chinderah Bay Antiques

Who knew Coles sells vegan cheese? Alma and Progress did, not only that-but they stopped what they were doing to help me find it instore. A1 for customer service, big smiles, happy workers and vegan cheeses.

  • M. J.

This coles changed their display atound the fresh produced goods. Showing coloirful seasonal fruits facing outside looks better than showing just greens. The store assistants were very friendly and helpful.

  • Warren Neil

Medium size store with most Coles products available on shelves. Very convenient for the area. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Can become busy at times. Parking underground available.

  • William Duval

The Coles is ok but the centre itself needs a serious upgrade. Nearly every other shop in the centre is empty and looks old and tired. West End has really moved ahead and this centre has not kept pace.

  • darla montgomery

Customer service managers bullies customer's , who then get security if you don't lick thier boots. you would expect to find thier level of service from slave owners in 18th century america..

  • Nicole Morello

Received help when needed and pretty much exactly the same as all other Coles stores. Only misses a star due to the fact that I dislike Coles and personally prefer to go to Woolworths...

  • Nassar Nassar

Coles always good but this store needs much overhaul, the fruit section sometimes has not so fresh produce, its old and need upgrading... But the whole centre is old and somehow dirty.

  • Marco Ludke

I was part of the team that opened this store so it was great to see the redesign. Moving the bakery and deli to the back has opened up the front of the store making it feel spacious.

  • Tru Review

A much needed renovation but the shopping centre is terrible and in urgent need of massive works. U really only go here to go out of your way as Woolworths across the road nails it..

  • Jon Coates

Good selection and layout, smaller than but not as pokey feeling as the Toowong Coles. Parking is a premium and must be validated in store to qualify for the 2 hr free parking deal.

  • Brent Neale

Overall fairly well stocked - much more variety than a metro store, staff were friendly too. Only issue was the store layout - was mostly fine with a couple things in weird places.

  • James Iwanuscha

Good large store, lots of brands incl. coles brand but not enough parking spaces. If you park underneath coles will validate your parking. 2 hour maximum time limit or a $77 fine.

  • Performance Revolution

Not updating Google store hours and reducing them unexpectedly for Christmas eve was a massive inconvenience for myself and dozens of others who had nose prints on the front doors

  • Nk Hnd

Atm its getting refurbished so parking is a nightmare on the surface parking, so ur best parking underground. But other than that its an all round great store. Covid rules apply.

  • Joshua “Jokitsa” Dean

Live fairly close by so I visit quite frequently. Decent selection but the layout is a tad odd. Staff are always happy to fetch a product or assist me with finding something.

  • Tracey Black

Lovely friendly staff, have had particularly good experiences with the males serving on the check out. Clean and well maintained store, great variety in the bakery and deli

  • Adam Whitewolf

Good produce and friendly staff are the best things about this store. Access to store via parking near impossible due to ongoing construction. Good Avoid for the time being

  • Margaret Freeland

This supermarket was very handy to our accommodation in West End It is a full sized supermarket, therefore we were able to get all the usual things. Friendly service …

  • Kathy Hardy

A large sized store close to city without exorbitant prices. Great fresh produce such as fruit. I spent less than 20 for enough fruit to feed 4 grown adults for days....

  • Sandra Beck

I am happy to keep on keepung on. Coles provide a goid range of products and finding them us easier now they have introduces aisle guides. Ramps from street and carpark.

  • Meng Phang

Could be it's fairly new, but I couldn't find what I was looking for... Things which I've found in other branches. Not impressed. It's brand new shiny and clean though!

  • Michael Matthias

The store has undergone a huge upgrade in the past couple of years. Much bigger and better stocked. The staff are usually friendly and there's free parking for 2 hrs.

  • Sarah Bowler

The new layout is not great. Why make the meat the first thing you see when you walk in? Plus it's even more maze like and difficult to walk up and down the aisles.

  • Cindy Richards

It loses a star for taking 10 min to get out of the car park . Otherwise did like the Spanish style building. The locals are extremely friendly that shop here too.

  • Paul Hudson

With renovations on going it's very difficult to find parking lots. Owners need to address the poor lighting in the car park. It's very dark. Will shop elsewhere.

  • max pires

You will find the most general groceries and daily stuff to fill your bag trip or a decent breakfast. There's a small mall center around that you can also enjoy.

  • Tom Nielsen

nice and clean supermarket with friendly staff and plenty of fresh goods. Only downside is the 12 item limit on self service, since there are very few lines open

  • Alex S

Products are fresh and staff is friendly. However, parking is restricted to 2 hours and if one does to validate the ticket you have to go back up to the stores.

  • Aidan Davis

The overall feel I had for this entire shopping centre was grubbiness. The Coles itself was well stocked and staffed, but clearly old and in need of renovation.

  • Tano Brou

Very convenient place to dine and have dinner. Cozy and calm place. The food are absolutely delicious. I will never forget the lady who served with a smile.

  • Diana Waines

Always enjoy shopping here. Friendly staff, plenty of variety, good fresh fruit & vegetables. Nice bakery with freshly baked on the premises bread & cakes

  • Morgan Astreal

Nice a clean, well stocked Coles. It is the openly acknowledge most expensive grocery store in Brisbane. So avoid if you have need to watch your spending.

  • Kate Wainman

Grace was very kind and patient. My partner and I had to run back and replace a couple items, and she was very helpful and understanding. Superstar!

  • Vikki Lowe

My favourite supermarket. Bread fresh as crunchy. Stayed fresh for days staff really helpful. Lot's of special's. Biggest variety of everything

  • Garry Mobbs

Great supermarket. Always great value. Really fresh fruit and vegetables.Well stocked. Always so clean and organised. Keep up the great work.

  • N R

It's sweet. I go there 6 days a week. Sometimes I might bump into people I know or a quick nod from people that you get to know as a regular.

  • Michael Riley

Great supermarket, quick self service checkouts. Good quality fresh veg and fruit for a supermarket. Nice renovation & increase of range.

  • Andrew Aschman

Good central location in the heart of West end. Huge variety of groceries items at competitive prices. No Liquor sales at present.

  • Kieron O'Connell

Much improved since the refurbishment, but it remains the only Coles I've been to that has a security guard at the door.
