Amanda and all the staff exceeded our expectations and treated me and my Mom with empathy, kindness and respect. We arrived from out- of-state and our beloved family, our Sister and Aunt Georgeann, looked beautiful and every attention to detail had been met. We knew she had been treated with dignity and respect. Amanda helped our family before we arrived, during and after. My elderly Mother is disabled and they assisted in every aspect to help her, even waiting in the bitter cold to make sure we were safely in a cab and were even offered a coat to wear from staff while we waited. Any family would be blessed to have Amanda and all the staff from Walter B. Cooke take care of your loved one and family during a loss. My family’s experience with Walter B. Cook funeral home on E. 87th St. in New York was outstanding. Starting first with the transfer of my brothers body to the funeral home and after, the transfer of the body to the cemetery was done seamlessly. Ray, Marie, and especially Amanda were extremely professional and accommodating. Amanda made it her mission to see that all of our requests were granted. The funeral home even provided a ramp for my father who has limited mobility and ambulate‘s with the aid of a walker. These little types of accommodations were personal touches which made a huge difference at such a trying time. We will recommend this funeral home to all of our friends and family.

Trying to get a corrected (accurate) copy of Death Certificate is IMPOSSIBLE when their promises are NOT kept and they will NOT answer my inquiries. It is difficult enough to deal with the death of a child without having to fight so hard with the funeral home to get the certificate for which I PAID for. They refuse to communicate and to send me an accurate document. NOT very professional nor compassionate. ESPECIALLY since my daughter was not from NYC - she was visiting NYC with her family to celebrate a birthday landmark. She loved NYC but obviously they are NOT willing to reciprocate. What a shame and a mean thing to put a parent through.

So that we can finally see him. We about 10 of is flew from AZ to be my son's side. Amanda u were so compassionate and sincere. U went way and beyond to help us with such a difficult time w my son passing. She also help w the transporting of my son from NY to AZ so we can lay my son to rest bk home. The staff at Frederick's were absolutely top-notch, anticipating everything that we needed during this difficult time. The attention to detail, the facilities and the preparation of the deceased was more than was expected. The compassion shown by all of the staff helped my family and friends honor my husband. The process and arrangements were made with a great understanding of grief, and alleviated much of the stress at this time.

Marie and Ray were incredibly empathic to our situation given Covid and the fact that my sister and I live out of state. They went above and beyond to help us navigate the process and supporting us while we asked questions about the final arrangements. But, what I will remember most is how they helped us feel like my father was cared for up until the very last day. I am genuinely grateful and appreciative.

Receptionist was impatient. Because the receptionist cannot clearly explain procedure the first time around, we had to call about 4 times total to have a patient's remains be picked-up. Given the previous reviews and my personal experience... don't use this funeral home. Wishing they were kinder, explain procedure and requirements clearly the first time around... also hoping they are culturally competent.

Maria was so compassionate and a great listener. She made all arrangements and per our wishes and also offered great advice and options that we were not aware of. My brother and I were extremely satisfied with Maria. She is just so wonderful and we plan to go back and make other arrangements with her. Please let Maria know that we were so pleased with her professionalism.

I found the staff here to be very caring and considerate. We had a viewing of my 11 month old son and his makeup was a little off. Other than that everything was wonderful. They fulfilled our wishes completely. They were prompt and very reasonably priced. I have yet to pick up his cremated remains but I wanted to place a positive review because they deserve one.

The staff at this facility - Mary, Marie and Angela were extremely helpful and considerate in helping my family get through their loss. It's always a difficult time handling the loss of a loved one. Angela and staff made sure all went smoothly with the viewing and all subsequent events.

Marie was the best! She was kind, understanding, professional and never pushed us to a decision. I dealt with her for my Mother's funeral and then, my husband's. The setting was lovely and everything went according to plan. It was so easy at a time when it could have been so hard.
