PLEASE READ MY REVIEW! Impeccable service! My mom suffered a great loss of her only son, my dearest brother last week. It was VERY important for me to choose a funeral home that was going to show the upmost respect, not only to my family BUT to my dearest brother. Tom Sr and Jr. went above and beyond. He was caring, kind, sympathetic and gentle. Tom did a wonderful job on my brother. I believe Tom even worked on his smile. :) It was amazing. Brought me much joy. Everything our family was looking for. Even those that came to pay their respects appreciated the way everything was managed and handled. Please, if you are looking for services in the area, pick Thomas Montera. Tom will do whatever you need him to do. I asked him to keep all my flowers for a short time so I can come back and pick them up and he said "Absolutely No Problem". He even offered to deliver them for me to my address BUT I lived in Jersey so I understood it was a bit tough. He kept on asking and asking what I needed. Was very sensitive to my mom above all. WOW! Words can't describe my gratitude to TOM. Now every year I"m going to make him for Christmas my special Coquito and hand deliver it myself. Thank you Tom Sr and Jr if you are reading this. I will forever be grateful!

My wife and I want to thank Tom Sr., Tom Jr., Jessica and Nicole for the heartfelt service received. When my mom passed away in her home in October, I called the Thomas C. Montera Funeral Home; Tom Sr. picked up before sunrise and was so very kind with every word he spoke in guiding me through the process. The support my wife and I received was incomparable. The viewing and service went so smoothly, everything was so well timed, Jessica explained everything in great detail that morning when we were making arrangements. I can take forever in expressing our gratitude because words could never be enough for Tom Sr. and company. We can't recommend Thomas C. Montera funeral home enough. We did a lot of research in finding the right place and we highly recommend to call and find out what is the process so it can reduce the stress in making arrangements. (Add Thomas C. I am posting on behalf of my grandmother, who had a contract with this funeral home, to bury her mother, my great grandmother. This funeral home is in breach of contract. My grandmother (who was the only one on said contract) had things changed around for this two day event. My grandmother was completely blindsided not knowing the changes were in effect, since she wasn’t notified prior to changing what she had originally requested. I reached out to the funeral home, and spoke with one of the directors, Jessica. All she could provide me with were apologies. She had stated since another family member paid(with cash might I add, so unbeknownst to them where the cash could of originated from) , they allowed the requests for different members to change things without my grandmothers permission. Unfortunately that is not how contracts work, and we will be seeing what else we can do about this. This moment is forever gone for my grandmother.

We used Thomas C. Montera Funeral home for my grandfather's service right after COVID quarantine began..late March 2020.There were rules of no more than 10 people to stay for the service and people who came to view the body could only walk in then walk out. There were also rules regarding the actual burial...we were not allowed to exit our vehicles to watch the lowering of the casket. Our hearse driver, I'm not sure if he was the owner...but he was wonderful. He made sure the cemetery personnel let us walk up to the gravesite and he was just a lovely man to be around. My grandfather passing at the start of quarantine was an awful experience and we had no idea how a funeral was going to work with all the restrictions...but this funeral home ensured my grandfather was buried with dignity and with his family by his side. I will forever be grateful for their professionalism, care, and respect during a difficult time for us all.

Without asking the person if they were the only sibling they almost cremated my father and allowed my sister to notarized a letter stating she was an only child and I of course was the beneficiary and the proxy for my father and was the only one that was supposed to make decisions these people were very disrespectful and made me feel very distraught and disgusted on how they went about this situation as when I asked for the proof of the notarized letter they told me they shredded the letter Sad because someone was trying to do wrong and cremate and not allow other siblings to view their own dad is very hurtful I would never recommend anyone to do business with theses foul people. Very very bad that at a time like this they do this to me I just lost my father the one person that meant the world to me and they couldn’t even help me knowing this was so wrong. Smh please people theses people don’t mean well.

I do not normally write many reviews but since Thomas Montera funeral home went above and beyond for my family I felt it was only right that I shared my appreciation and gratitude for them. As you can imagine when someone passes away it is very stressful. After a few phone calls I happened to call Montera funeral home and from the initial phone call their professionalism and compassion stood out. After visiting the funeral home and speaking with both Tom Sr. and Jr. it was clear that this family owned business was experienced, compassionate and accommodating. On top of that, the funeral home was very clean and there was plenty of parking for all the guests. They lifted a huge weight off my shoulder with their guidance and mannerisms. I just wanted to thank you guys and the staff at Thomas Montera Funeral Home for all that you did!

There are no words to express my gratitude for this funeral home! My maternal grandmother passed at the end of December, and we held her services at this location in the first week of January, 7 months later unfortunately we had to do the same for my paternal grandmother. This funeral home and their staff are so understanding, helpful and informative every step of the way. Both funerals were beautiful, and my entire family had a sense of calmness over them because the location is clean, bright, and beautiful. We recently had my brother, Alex's services at Thomas C. Montera funeral home. From the first call to the day of the wake, my family was treated with compassion, dignity, warmth and respect. The staff at this funeral home made the pain we were feeling less intense because of the care that we received from them. They went above and beyond. Unfortunately we have had 6 deaths in the last several years and utilized other funeral parlors to take care of our deceased loved ones' funeral services. The experience we had at those other funeral parlors were terrible which is why we chose to look for another place. Thank God He led us to Thomas C. Montera funeral home. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend this home for your arrangements. I called to get some information on how much an urn would be and was handled by the employee with dignity, respect and a professionalism that was simply stellar. While funeral costs are outrageous their prices were very affordable. This call was made becasue the home that handled my father was atrocious and I had to call around for an urn for his remains. Not only did they provide the service in a timely basis they also gave me a large amount of information about where I was going to have my father's final resting place. Tom made me feel comfortable , he was courteous and caring.

They provided affordable prices, they break it down to you about prices in different categories, which make it easy to see where you need to cut down if needed. We had one day service and the staff did a great job preparing the room and his clothes for my dad. They assisted me with the cemetery, a clergyman for the burial service and even the funeral director or associate was there at the burial to make sure all was alright as we entered to the cemetery and during the burial service. Thank you staff for making us feel at ease during this difficult time.

Tom Sr, Tom Jr and their entire staff exceeded my expectations handling my aunt's cremation. I had anticipated that this process would be arduous but Tom Sr was wonderfully responsive and made sure everything went smoothly. Tom Jr even stopped by and hand-delivered the ashes & death certificates because he was in the neighborhood. Wow, what personal service! During the covid-19 crisis my family and I lost our father and unfortunately had some trouble paying for a proper service. We called around to multiple funeral homes in the Bronx and Thomas Sr and his son were the most understanding in working with my family for an affordable price. They were professional and compassionate, and made sure during this stressful time our family was able to give our proper goodbyes while abiding by covid viewing guidelines. They took great care of my father and I’m glad I gave them a call.

We used Thomas C. Montera Inc. and were very pleased with the professionalism and comfort throughout the whole process from the owners and their staff. Every charge was itemized and explained. At no point in the process did we feel rushed or that they were bothered with our barrage of questions. Considering the cost for a funeral is less than their competitors in the surrounding borough’s, it is refreshing to see that they take pride in their work and do not take advantage of customers in a vulnerable state.

I am relieved that I chose Thomas C. Montera Funeral Home after contacting three others and comparing prices, facilities, etc. The funeral home was clean and beautiful while offering plenty of parking in a secure lot. The family-owned business was warm and inviting, and both Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. helped make me feel comfortable by walking me through everything, as this was my first time making arrangements. I can’t thank them enough for being so professional, yet empathetic during such a trying time.

The Montera family handled my mother’s funeral with the utmost professionalism. I was very pleased with the way Jessica handled all the business details with me and how Tom and his son were incredibly thoughtful and kind to my friends and family. When mom died in Florida, Tom Montera contacted their third party liaison funeral home to handle mom’s embalming and transport to the Bronx. The pricing for the entire funeral was reasonable and very cost effective.

My grandfather was in hospice care for 5 days and during those 5 days I reached out to a few funeral homes. None of them showed as much compassion and professionalism as I received from Thomas C. Montera funeral home. Thomas and his staff were so helpful during the the most difficult and stressful time of my life. They were very attentive to all of our needs and everything went so smoothly. I have a large extended family and we have used Thomas Montera Funeral Home for our funeral services for many years. I was here for an elderly family's member's funeral and considering the occasion (because they are never easy) the staff was pleasant and professional. Now I'm an in the pre-planning phase for one of my parents and working with them has been great. They are very understanding, sensitive, compassionate and helpful. If you have questions they will answer them, if not right then and there they contact you in timely fashion.

I was having such a hard time putting my uncle to rest, I was a mess. However, one of their kind-hearted employees sat next to me to listen to me ramble about Barry, my uncle, during the service. I think her name was Nicole (Give her a raise if you people read these). Anyhow, the funeral home was clean, Uncle Barry looked like he was sleeping peacefully, and my family left feeling like we were taken care of.

When planning both my Parents funerals, the Montera Family provided much Compassion and Professionalism. Their guidance allowed for a truly dignified service that comforted my Family & Friends through Our Grief. The Montera's even insured that my Father was granted a Military Honor Guard, as he was a WW II Veteran. We are Grateful for all the Kindness and Guidance they willingly provided.

Disrespectful and dismissive front desk manager. She gave us an appointment at 3:30, and we arrive by 345 while we were taking out cash to pay for the service, and she refused to see us. Obviously, she double booked, which is hard when you are trying to manage the loss of a loved one from people shouldn’t be in this industry, and it’s clear that this manager should be finding a new job.

We held funeral services for my grandmother here. Tom and Tom (owner and son) were incredibly professional and caring. I could see how a person could get callous from being in such an industry, so it was a relief that they showed such concern for my family. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my experience and would recommend this funeral parlor to anyone who asked.

No customer service follow up prior to the day of the burial..I wonder what plays a role how well they treat your loved ones body because they got their money up-front..SMFH. I'm so sorry MOM..
