I've been to this café for lunch on a couple of occasions before and it was quite busy and the service was fairly slick and food good. Certainly my experience recently is an exception. Coffee was still ok. The service was very slow although there was only one other table of 6 people inside and no one outside. The serving sizes were very small for the price! The variety on the menu was disappointing. Not a one salad choice for a lunch in a venue in our climate this time of year?? Mainly bread based dishes. We were not offered a wine or alcoholic drinks list and assumed that (now)there were none available but this in fact wasn't so. A fresh glass of bubbles or a crisp white for the ladies would be an attraction for more clientele as would some salad bowls. We weren't offered a dessert menu after lunch so that went by the way too. Our table was not cleared after our meal of empty plates or glasses so we stacked them aside on a nearby table after an extended time. We were there for over an hour. The tables nearby that had food left on them when we came in were still not wiped down when we left and meanwhile we coped with the flies. I had to brush food off my seat before sitting down. The staff lent little attention to us. We had to get up from the table and asked for everything ie water, coffees, side plates for share dishes (numerous times). It was surprisingly noisy inside despite being almost empty -staff doing tasks. On previous visits I have sat outside but it was too hot this time. I'm really disappointed to write this review as I had enjoyed visiting previously and believe there is a lot of potential but understand why there is/seems less business happening these days and no more dinners if this is the current standard. Staff need training and guidance. We need more novel places in the Centenary area that offer something unique (as this cafe can) not just burgers and pizza or sandwiches and ones that offer a good standard. And certainly ones that we can bring visitors to our area too and not be embarrassed. Just over $60 for two small mains and coffees.

I've eaten at Method to the Madness at Kenmore and this new restaurant is not of the same quality unfortunately. The good: coffee, drinks and good atmosphere. The bad: Service - waited around for a few minutes to get seated. Staff just walked past us didn't acknowledge us nor greet us. Had to wave someone down to get acknowledged and get a seat. Then with the food had to wait a long time 30mins+ just for a breakfast bagel and eggs benedict. The thing that really was annoying was that staff had their breaks near us and got their food before paying customers. The food - I saw our breakfast bagel sitting on the counter for about 10 minutes waiting for the benedict. When we got the food the bagel wasn't fresh, very stodgy. The bacon, egg and meat patttie was tasteless plus the cheese and mayo didn't add any seasoning so it tastes like just a bland wall of meat. The benedict sauce was bland no cider taste, the rosti just tasted of potato and no heat or flavour from any jalapeno. The piece of bacon was so salty it was like drinking salt water. Anyways hope this feedback will let you improve. Goodluck but unfortunately we'll go back to our regular cafe.

Great food and coffee. We had the Mediterranean Chicken salad and Fritters, both were delicious. Salad was a good sized portion... chicken was tender, chargrilled, smokey and juicy. Compliments to the chef. The customer service staff are very friendly but may need some further training and coaching; Finished dishes are not cleared away even after sitting for some time. Dessert and tea /coffee was not offered after meal. Dessert was removed from table before finishing (we had to ask them to leave it on the table). Having said this the negatives would not stop me from coming back here to enjoy the fantastic food. I'm sure with the right coaching the staff (who are relatively young) will fill the customer service gaps. Bonus, the self pay option via QR scan code on the table and ability to split the bill from the comfort of your chair is very convenient and practical. Super easy to use. Well done guys. Keep up the great food and continue working with your people to hone in on a few customer service improvements.

Was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. Presentation was beautiful and professional. We were a bit surprised that the staff seemed to forget about us once we were seated - waitress took a coffee order and then disappeared and we were unable to catch the eye of anyone to place a food order until the coffees were delivered. Once food the food came, we were again invisible until I stood to go to the counter to pay. It wasn't a busy day and we were seated inside in plain view of the counter, so we were a bit surprised. I'm not going to judge harshly, as we have no way of knowing what might have been occurring behind the scenes, but it did seem strange that what presented as such a high-class brunch lacked the personal touch and friendliness we might have expected. Our budget makes this a "special occasions" place to visit, but we will be back to try some of the other breakfast offerings!

Visited this local cafe last week just before the lockdown and we had a great experience! This cafe is located in Westlake along with a few other shops/restaurants with heaps of parking available. There is sating outisde and inside the cafe. The staff was very nice and welcoming What we got : • Shakespeare Dislikes Covid-19 ($19.50) • Cheese Burger ($22.50) • Hongkong Peanut Butter Waffle ($19.50) All these dishes were presented beautifully and they all tasted amazing with lots of flavours. I think there's no need to describe how good these dishes were because the pictures speak for themselves. Our favourite was the Hongkong peanut butter waffle which looked soo good but also tasted delicious. The serving sizes were quite good for the price! Highly recommend trying out @tobeornottobecafe If you haven't tried this place you really are missing out!

What. A. Gem. The food here somehow manages to be both fun and intimate, the menu reassuring with familiar favourites (plus some truly interesting things). Between the house pickles (yeay, fermentation) and the well-adjusted team on staff, TBONTB is the sort of place you'd read the morning news at AND take mum to lunch at. Nestled in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood just off the highway it's charmingly local, and also really worth the trek. Their Bard t-shirt is on my wishlist, searing into my mind that millennial pink never goes out of style. Honourable mention goes to the incredible succulent planting around the deck. (I'm just a little bit in love with the bevy of dogs that frequent the place, too.)

We had the breakfast tacos, big breakfast, iced mocha and mango lassi. Breakfast tacos ($19) were great, good mix of flavours and very fresh. The big breakfast ($27) was a good size, on the expensive side. Everything was cooked very well. The hash brown fries were really cute and tasted great. Bacon was very crispy. Cherry tomatoes were very sweet and a great to balance to saltiness of the dish. One of the poached eggs was a bit over cooked but the other one was cooked well. All in all, good portion size, tasted great. Would definitely recommend. Iced mocha was good, I liked the chocolate in it. Mango lassi was incredible! Order 2 or your fiancé will drink most of yours. Great spot! Staff was friendly. Will definitely return.

Such a little gem on the west side of Brisbane. Around 4 minutes from Mt Omaney Centre, To Be Or Not To Be is serving Veneziano Coffee Roasters coffee with a great selection of breakfast and lunch options. We reserved a table via Google but our booking was not found. But the very nice wait staff quickly organised a table for us. The service was impeccable, in fact it could be one of the best we have experienced in a little while :P We quickly ordered some food for the kids and the little ones loved their bacon and eggs as well as the spaghetti bolognese. The Benny Act 3 was very nice, croquette with chorizo accompanied with chili jam, topped with two poached eggs. No wonder a lot of surrounding tables ordered the same dish Would definitely highly recommend this suburban gem!

This is a hidden gem in 4074, and in my opinion the best brunch spot in the area. The menu is modern, adventurous, the kind of food you would expect dining out in West End/Paddington. Which is refreshing and exactly what this suburb has been lacking (given the number of venues here that exclusively cater to yt geriatric taste buds). But not only is the food excellent, the owners have gone out of their way to create a beautiful and inviting atmosphere - tasteful, modern decor against a backdrop of pastels and plants. Service is friendly, fast and prices very reasonable. I highly recommend the smoothies and iced coffee. It was also nice to see that they have an undercover dining area for the dog parents too.

Beautiful decor, good service, great coffees, lovely food presentations. We ordered the Brioche pasta sandwich, the fried eggplant bao buns and a bowl of chips. The pasta sandwich seemed a bit confused, the flavours didn't quite work, the pasta was overwhelmed with spicyness and the brioche bread was quite dry. The bao buns were quite tasty if you didn't know that there was meant to be eggplant in it. When done right the flavour of an eggplant is my one of favourite things to eat but I couldnt taste it at all, my husband even thought it was chicken, probably because of the thick batter. Chips were fine but one of the chippies had a deep fried hair in it. Cafe has lots of potential, needs better execution.

Love the Shakespeare theme and minimalist with a twist decor of this place. Service staff are friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. I’m not usually a fan of hollandaise but with the yuzu it sings, especially with the lemon potatoes and pork belly. The beetroot chips with raspberry powder, pickled veg and whipped goats cheese made my poached eggs on avo epic. Hash brown fries were as great as they sound and the classic pork belly roll was perfect. Coffee was delicious and service was fast even on a busy weekend morning. We couldn’t resist cake after brekkie either-fhe cabinet offerings are plentiful and varied. Wish I lived closer, I’d haunt the place like King Hamlet’s ghost

In general, I’m disappointed by the lack of professionalism I observed. Despite the cafe being consistently busy, which is usually a positive sign, the service left something to be desired. For instance, on a recent occasion, I had to wait for my coffee while standing outside with my dog, and I noticed others who came after me were served before me. During a morning visit, there were delays in receiving the drinks. Consequently, I would rate the service as below average. On a positive note, I must admit that the food itself is actually quite good.

“My Bounty is as Boundless as the Sea” Try it guyz, you wouldn’t stop going back and ask for it again and again. To Be or Not To Be - this trendy cafe in Westlake has won our hearts. Barramundi is my fav, but I just had a look at my precious wife’s plate and I found this Rump Steak Sandwich just looking right at me and saying, “if your wife wants you to touch me, will you have me?” I said, oh yesssss. And the rest was history. I ordered one for me even though I was full after the barra. I made every bite of the sandwich worth dying for. That TBONTB place is a must visit place. Love you, chef and the waiting staff. Long live TBONTB.

  • Thomas Brooks

Great food. We had the Shakespeares medley and it was filling and flavourful. The eggs were poached perfectly. The coffees were beautiful. Food and Drinks were at the table really fast. A truely wonderful team at TBONTB. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. Dog friendly which we really appreciated and they have puppuchinos! A great place to have a coffee or meal out with the family or friends. Highly recommend.

Very cute and well decorated little cafe. Friendly and efficient service. We ordered the breakfast tacos, rice benedict, coconut + sago pudding, hash brown fries and iced matcha latte. For 2 small breakfast tacos at $17.70, it was pretty disappointing.. The chicken in the rice benedict was very dry. The coconut + sago pudding was presented beautifully and the flavour and textures was enjoyable. We couldn't finish the hash brown fries because it was very heavily salted. Overall good service, nice presentation and menu has a good variety but food is lacking.

Overall we had a lovely breakfast dining experience to celebrate Mother’s Day today. The restaurant has a pleasing ambience and a good space between tablets and patrons. The team was friendly and provided quick services. The foods are delicious (and how I love the details on every dish). However, IMO, the coffee was a little cold. I'd recommend this cafe restaurant to friends and family definitely!

I cannot recommend this cafe enough. The food is beyond delicious, portion sizes are perfect, if not, somewhat generous, and the service and hospitality here is fantastic. There’s many vegetarian options, not so much vegan, but the owner was more than happy to adjust the meals to fit my dietary restrictions. If I could, I’d give it 6 stars out of 5, as its food and service was beyond exemplary. Oh, and the hashbrown chips here are amazing, I've never had anything like them, and would kill for the recipe.

Busy little Cafe, but 100% worth it. Menu changes periodically and each and every time, the food is fantastic. Even if it is something I wouldn't usually order, it is still pleasantly delicious. Definitely recommend booking a table if visiting in peak times though.

we came here for brunch and i cannot recommend this place enough. i got the bibimbap and it was absolutely divine. probably the only thing it needed was some bibimgochujang just to add a little more flavour but other than that it was perfect. there were so many textures and it was honestly just amazing. plus, the names of the dishes are really fun, especially if you’re a lit nerd like me lol. anyone in the area should come here at least once!!

  • Snesha Ares

Was so excited to try this place to eat and experience the beautiful decor however upon arrival we were told we could sit outside as they were too busy (there were lots of tables inside free) the 3 of us were squished onto the smallest two person table that clearly even the 3 plates wouldn't fit on. The plate hung over the table and at one point almost ended up in my lap. The food was presented nicely but nothing special for the price tag.

I honestly couldn’t decide what I wanted because everything sounded so good, I ended up stress ordering the oats (can’t remember the exact name). I was regretting my decision when the other dishes for the rest of my family came out as they looked delicious, but when mine came out I was not disappointed by mine at all. Honestly never enjoyed oats like this in my entire life. I also ordered the Orthello’s smoothie and it was to die for.

First time here, was quite surprised. Menu items were a bit different to the usual selection. Staff were friendly and made sure we had checked in with QR code. Ordered the Chinese pork benny which looked and tasted very nice. The yuzu hollandaise sauce and pork were great. It was a little bit on the pricey side but overall a lovely cafe for catch-up with friends. If not for the 40min drive, would come here more often.

To Be Or Not To Be is highly recommended for any occasion and to everyone who loves food. The Customer service is excellent and the food is to die for! Stella, the main host of the venue is friendly, accomodating, and if you ask her to change a specific dish it is no problem for her and the chef. Food presentation, quality and taste is five stars! My family and I will definitely keep coming back to this place.

Great cafe with tasty food & coffee. Staff were very accommodating with me having a pram & a highchair. Staff were friendly & polite & picked my sons toys up off the floor when he dropped them. We did feel a bit rushed once we finished eating as the staff were tidying up & hoping to close. This was earlier than the stated business hours on a Saturday afternoon.

The best cafe in Brisbane by far. I travel a lot with work and get to see a lot of different cafes around the world. These guys have nailed it! The aesthetics are great, and the staff are super friendly. I had the eggs benny, which is unlike anything i've had before, not to mention the amazing coffee. Looking forward to our next visit!

Food presentation good, menu good. But going and not being able to eat anything because the cook is not flexible is not good. My wife has a high allergy to garlic. Surprise all their dishes have garlic. That's why they only get a one. Most places we eat at will accommodate my wife. Maybe they need to be more flexible.

Food is great but unlikely to be back. The manager kept barking orders to her staff in the open, making it a very poor/anxiety fuelled dine in experience. Updated 16/5: Tried the cafe again, and the staff previously in question wasn't there and the cafe feels much more friendly now. Management appears to have taken steps to improve, and happy to return again in future :)

Popped in 10 minutes before closing time to ask if they were still doing food. Wouldn’t have been surprised if they’d turned us away, but the lady that served us was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to offer food and a coffee, even though we could see the kitchen was closing. Great service

What an AMAZING experience. I can't get enough of this place! I've been with a big group for a farewell breakfast and the speedy service was incredible. Every staff member is polite and efficient. Stella is a perfect host. She is approachable and accommodates the needs of her customers. The chef... WOW! WOW! WOW! Every mouth is a taste sensation with every bite.

Love this place. The food quality is absolutely exceptional. It's great to have such yummy, restaurant quality food in the suburbs. The prices are similar to others in the area, but I would have to say the food is much tastier than elsewhere. And the menus are always so creative. There's a reason we frequent this cafe. Great staff, great food, fair prices!

We had dinner here last Saturday - the food was brilliant, good atmosphere, and the service was friendly and attentive. We especially loved the melt in your mouth brisket, as well as the Jerusalem artichoke cake which was a welcome surprise - it had a Christmas spice twist with a slight citrus tang - delicious. We will definitely be back again.

A workmate and I were on a job nearby and came here today to get a something quick to take away as we'd been on an emergency call out. There were customers seated at tables and and food in the display. The lady presumably in charge approached me and informed me that the cafe closes at 12. If you want lunch I guess you have to go somewhere else?

Been to this little gem a dozen time, sorry I have not reviewed it before. Who would have thought you could find this city quality café in the burbs. I cant recommend To Be or Not To Be highly enough. Well thought out dishes, very well made. Nice and casual. If you are not too far away try it out, it will not disappoint.

This restaurant has been a regular ever since we discovered the gem. Simple offerings, done well. Coffee is always on-point, and it's a very quaint setting to have breakfast in before you go about your day. Give their Bao Do I Love Thee a go, there's a reason why the staff say it's one of their patron's favourites!

Just discovered this place and we will definitely be returning! The food (i had a roast chicken toastie), the pastries and coffee were amazing. The place is impeccably clean and the service was great. Want to come back and try more from the menu. Great job guys!

We met as a group. The service was amazing. The coffee was sublime. They allowed us to pay seperately. Can't recommend this place more highly. The owner even came out to check on us. Over and above service.

Excellent coffee, one of my more favourite places to get a coffee. Good food as well with quality ingredients used. Good prices. Good service. Only thing I can recommend is extending the menu a little, maybe offering nice fresh toasted sandwiches

Busy little place with a decent menu. Service is incredibly slow always, but mainly for takeaway. 24 mins wait for a takeaway coffee is a bit ridiculous.

Reagan and the girls are always so welcoming and kind. The service is impeccable and when you’re a regular they’ll remember your name and order every time. I love coming here and the sweet potato pancakes are something else! Love it.

One of the best brunch places I have been in Brisbane. From quality of food, atmosphere to the renovation are top-notch. Booking is a must as they are popular. Their outdoor deck is nice and cozy, and it is dog-friendly as well.

Wow what a find. Loved the menu and drinks, unique, sophisticated, surprises everywhere. Exactly what I felt we needed in Centenary - something a little more refreshing. Wish we knew you were open since July

Beautifully presented and delicious food, the pork dish was yummy and the avo on toast with beetroot hummus was so filling. The turmeric latte was lovely and fresh, not too sweet or syrupy. We'll be back!

Enjoyed lunch very much. The food is very good. Atmosphere very good. They need to tweak their wine list. Only two white wines by the glass. I'm sure they will fix this. Certainly recommend a visit!

Best Coffee in the area hands down. Nicely made flat white (almond milk) takeaway. Good space / good selection of takeaway items. Will be back when I am next in the area.

One of the few cafes I know that maintain a high quality of all the following three: service, food & coffee. I will always hold this place in high regard. #StellaisQueen
