BE CAREFUL!!! This store overcharged my grandma THREE TIMES!!!! Obviously we were sceptical but my mum then went to verify this and bought $5 worth of vegetables. Mum gave $50 bill and RECEIVED $40!!! Even a 5 year old knows that isn't right. When we approached the female cashier about it, the cashier acted clueless as if it was just a quirky mistake. When we asked for the manager, the manager defended the cashier by stating it was an 'honest mistake'. Really? An honest mistake that happens 3+ times in the span of 2 days??? I do not know if this is due to racism or just purposeful incompetence, but taking advantage of old grannies is just infathomable.
I didn’t usually have problem with the staff at this shop and I thought this shop was the best in Brisbane, but today’s experience completely changed my aspect. Today, the cashier at 11:11am was extremely rude and she didn’t care the next customer kept pushing me away because the next customer was an middle aged Korean lady!!! This cashier also got NO knowledge to put hot and cold foods in the same bag., First time encountered bad staff in this shop - very disappointing
Good selection of mainly Korean groceries. Canned, dried foods as well as sauces and other condiments. There is a good selection of frozen foods as well. Some fresh produce, but does not appear to be their main draw here. The aisles are reasonably spacious for this kind of Asian grocer, and can be accessed even while pushing a pram. Double width prams can access maybe half of the aisles. They have a loyalty card scheme that can be joined on request, which accumulates points that can be used for cash.
The place needs an upgrade for sure. Parking is a nightmare. Had to literally squeeze my way through people in store because the aisles are so narrow! The layout also makes no sense as there are random fridges in the middle of the store as well as up against the walls. There were flies everywhere in there also and as soon as I saw that I was out of there ASAP. Definitely one of the dirtiest supermarkets I’ve been to. I would recommend H mart in Underwood. They’re sooo much more cleaner and bigger.
I was looking for a specialist Korean supermarket rather than a combined “Asian” supermarket and Hanaroo Mart was the perfect answer. Not being an expert in Korean cuisine it’s difficult to understand the breadth of the range however we were very impressed with the store size and offering. The prices were very reasonable, even of that compared to a local IGA. The service we received at the checkout was very welcoming and friendly. Pleasantly surprised and will certainly be coming back!
this is the biggest Hanaro mart in Brisbane i reckon. I have a lot of frozen stuff and noodle options. Even some of cleaning stuff as well. But cashiers sometimes not kind at all. They are all in rush and throw stuff We didn’t even put our stuff in the bag but that tried to scan other customers stuff and we couldn’t manage that quick to put stuff in our bag and paying.. Overall not too bad to grab asian groceries
I really love the fresh vegetables they have, the prices are fair and if you happen to visit the store be sure to try their beautiful cakes. The store is always clean and tidy and well stocked. It would be helpful if they have at least one staff who can speak English, as sometimes I need to ask questions about a product. Don't get wrong all the staff there are friendly and welcoming. I love the store.
tried to buy two bottles of rice wine, clerk said i would need to buy $30 dollars worth of groceries due to liqueur license . Copy from their website FAQ : You could purchase Asian alcohol from hanaro mart Sunnybank Store only. (You will be asked to present photo ID such as Driver licence, passport and proof of age card.) Sounds like a scam to me and didnt see any such notice written in english.
Good Asian market. Mainly Korean food but can find lots of Japanese food as well. Not many things from other Asian countries which is sad as I like this place because customer service is nice, place is clean and well organized. Some prices are too high and things much more expensive than in other Asian markets in the area but not everything. Worth recommending especially for Korean food lovers
Good range of Korean groceries, which includes snacks, instant food, sauces and ingredients. Occasionally have some good sales. They have a fresh produce section which have a limited range of mushrooms and vegetables. Lots of frozen goods. Store environment looked messy and lots of under stocked items. Prices can be more expensive than non-Korean supermarkets in the Sunnybank area.
Excellent Asian grocery store with everything you need. They even have prepared food for a quick lunch which are really yummy and hot. Don't forget to bring your own bag. Great ranges of food of all sorts. They even have Asian bathroom products such as shampoo and so on. The only inconvenience is parking. The undercover parking is really annoying to navigate.
Awful service. The woman serving on Tuesday 15th August at 9:20pm was very rude and did not place the shampoo that I paid for in the bag of groceries I had bought. She is a menace to society. I was very upset to find out the shampoo was not placed in the bag. I drove 30 minutes just to buy groceries at this store. I am a very upset customer.
Not too bad as an Asian Market. But as they are growing up and making a lot of profit, it seems their attitude is changing. Even they will refuse to give points without an actual point card which was okay and no problem before. Also you can't use your point on other branches. They are trying to rise the price as well.
The staffs sometimes can be pretty rude. Their quality of their meat, veggies and fruits are either average or below average. They usually most likely go on sale if the product is either near to their expiry date or have already expired but they sometimes cover it up with some other stickers.
Some Asian food? No tons of Korean food. This one has a personal care/makeup and cosmetics section. Good produce , interesting product range and the best of weird but wonderful beverages (Calpis, Coco Palm, Pokka iced teas). Best of all this branch is open late, until 10pm.
Sunnybank store ‘s receiption girl made mistake and overcharged $20. After I pointed out the mistake in a good way. She didn’t apologize, asked me to wait until finished serving other customers. Then she spoke very impatiently. Very unpleasant shopping experience.
They have a vorious range of Korean food. But it was hard to find where some products were actually imported from (or produced) and it was hard to read ingredients for some products. Staffs were kind but too loud music in the shop wasn't comfortable for shopping.
We bought a gyoza sauce here and, when we arrived home, we found out that the item we bought was already expired a few weeks ago. It's a hassle to return this item to them since it's a 15-minute drive. Just make sure that the items you're buying are still good.
Staff are really unfriendly here. They won't even greet you or move if they are stocking shelves and you need to get past them. Has happened more than a few times so I suspect the management here don't really care too much about customer service
Well stocked Korean grocery store with weekly specials/promotions. They sell frozen goods, fresh meat, veg and fruit. Cold drinks, general groceries, cosmetics, baby needs, electrical appliances, and there is also a mini cafe inside too!
Good range of groceries. Wagyu beef was great, staff was friendly. Thank you for the service You can also buy frozen abalone and super sized tiger prawns here Fancy for a seafood hot pot? Get a frozen one here and cook at home
Cashier girl very rude and unfriendly, no communicate from beginning to end. When I asked receipt, she even just point at machine and then ignore me after that. Won’t visit that store definitely and this is not the first time.
Great selection. Fresh meat and vegetables. Plenty of drinks. Friendly staff. Parking can be difficult to find when the area is busy but if you don't mind walking, Sunnybank Shopping centre is close by.
You can find every you want here for Korean cooking. They have a large selection of meats, kimchi, seafood, snacks, Soju and other Korean alcohols and best of all you can find Banana Milk here …
The best hanaromart I've ever visited. Good collection of vegetables and food. Everything for Korean is out there which is a big help for me. Also, definitely try the homemade bibimbab, 100/10.
Great place to shop, also now that they have been refurbished, the shop looks clean, bright and tidy. Found most of what you need for Korean products and some Asian products too. Neat!
Got my jjajang sauce here and teriyaki sauce yay! Standard price but found many japanese sauce also here, good shop.. Recommended for those searching asian foods/sauce
Very bad experience, being stolen doesn't mean you have to look at all customers the way you see thieves. I will never want to go again until you learn to respect
Decent variety. Their fruit and veg quality is higher than other similar shop. Definitely one of the best grocery shopping place. Highly recommended.
Good shop packed full of all the Korean foods. Beer is often cheap on sale!! They sell binto-chan, first time I see it in an Aus shop. …
Hiring now! You must possess rude and arrogant personality and attitude as very minimum qualifications to be considered to work here.
Reasonable prices, good range of Asian groceries. Loyalty card and sometimes even freebies. Last visit we got free instant noodles!
easy to find Korean stuff and ingredients, also every week different discount products
Easy to find my Korean grocery and staff is always helpful and friendly too.
I love coming here to buy the ingredients I need for making Kimchi
Great selections of ingredients, but a bit pricey.
