Today my husband and I used self check out as we like to scan items and bag them how we like (which is the whole purpose) we forgot our reusable bags and thought we would purchase some of the 15cent bags available. As we were scanning a worker that was working self checkout (Pauline) came to us and told us to scan the reusable bag and we explained we would like to scan it at the end to avoid double scanning, she then picked the bag off the ground and proceeded to scan our bags. She walked away and kept staring at us as if we were stealing. We needed her to come back as the machine wasn’t weighing an item. She immediately snapped back “i showed you how to do it and now you’re just doing it your way!” And I just responded to her and said “don’t be rude”. She kept an eye on us for the rest of our check out process and then proceeded to speak about us to our faces to another coworker. We always shop coles but today Pauline has made it so my husband and I will no longer return to this coles for our shopping and may try woolies next time to avoid the embarrassment. I suggest implementing common customer service strategies in your workers. I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable before especially during my grocery shop.

My mom and I are loyal customers to Coles and have been shopping at the Cannon Hill Store in Brisbane for more than 15 years. For the first time we had the worst customer service today (09/03/19). We were served by the so called manager by the name of Rachel and she was not at all friendly and we felt we were treated badly due to our ethnicity. All we wanted were stickies for the previous shopping we did earlier in the day due to the fact that it wasn't offered to us by the cashier at the time of payment. Rachel responded that we can no longer get it because we didn't mention it at the time of payment. We didn't know the policy and is not written on the docket. It's the worker's/cashier's job to offer it to us. We are truly annoyed of how we were treated and were embarrassed in front of the other customers. My mom and I are now experiencing so much anger with that so called Manager Rachel because she did not handle that situation in a professional manner. We are truly disappointed.

I usually come here to purchase my groceries without any problems. However today, I learnt about how poor the customer service is here. After checking out at an automatic teller, I later checked my bank account to realise that they had double charged me. I went back to inform the staff to get my refund, but was refused so and implied it was a problem with my bank. I straight away called my bank and was told the fault was in fact with coles who double debited me. I went back to the counter within 5 minutes (even with the bank on the phone) to demand my refund and was given the excuse that the store manager wasn't available. This is highly disappointing as I now have to waste time to come back when the fault is with coles. I had my receipt and sufficient evidence. Very highly disappointing.

If I could give a zero I would. The self serve checkout staff are blase at the best of times, however today's rudeness topped the lot by the obnoxious woman on the self serve checkouts. She was outright condescending toward us and carried on like it was our fault when THEIR software had an error with scanning a couple of items. We are now doing all of our main shopping at Woolworths from here on as they actually HAVE stock on the shelves and a much better store to shop in. Coles is now a LAST resort for anything for our household. Anyway, they ALWAYS run out of stock in lines past 11am. Too bad if you work and can't get there until the afternoon because you'll always be looking at empty shelves and staff pretending to be busy.

Went to COLES today based on a special advertisement on their website for MOO milk for $5.90. Checkout rang up $6.60. I advised the operator who spoke to 2 other workers 10 minutes after standing there waiting. One of the ladies said I couldn't have it for the advertised price because it's on an online price. Not anywhere does it say on the website that is ONLINE ONLY PRICE. . the workers gave me the impression that I WAS IN THE WRONG! I advised them that surely this kind of thing happens often and she said it does and they often tell head office (who obviously dont follow up..)..and told me to read the catalogue instead of going to website..next time (!?).. well I don't think there will be a next time.

  • Pretty Star

The staff here are getting so bad to the point I have to give one star. I remember the time when the older lady work here and served me, she was amazing but this young male who server me was an absolute nightmare didn’t even say hi or acknowledged my existence. I saw him twice, the first time I saw him was already the worst experience the second time he stood in front of someones trolley at the self check out. It was already really crowded but he didn’t move so I had to squeeze pass him and the trolleys. Really rude manner young man.

I usually shop at another Coles as it's on the way home . However the Cannon Hill store has a larger range than the other store. The fast check out was just that even though there was a fair size cue but by the time I got into it I got through in a couple of minutes. As I said the range of products is huge fruit and veg was comparable to Woollies and better on the fresh bread at $2.50 a loaf and massive size etc. I went in fairly early but the cooked chooks were all gone so settled for cold shoulder in stead joking...

  • Aroha Papanui

The amount of security at the check outs is as if your in customs at the airport! Disgusting behaviour by thier thier staff, especially at this time. Considering everyone is trying to rush and get thier family food and go home where it's safe. To feel such intimidation is appalling, safe to say I'll never come to this Coles ever. The staff need to focus on putting the stock on the shelves not wondering how many packets of pasta in my trolley, so typical Australian haha

  • SUNGHEE HONG

Terribly disappointed with Coles. How many times they have changed their words. Said pickup ready and 10 mins later said it's cancelled. Called what happen, one lady said it's all ready but only payment problem. I said I would go and pay and get them. I asked her again all items there, she said yes onyl payment problem again. And my husband went to coles and asked the order, suddenly they said 2 items are not available. I never use coles online again.

  • Melinda Henry

My parents shop here once a fortnight and are always having to put their fortnight shopping onto the small box area in the express isle because they refuse to open a regular checkout! Their excuse is that they don’t have enough staff on early mornings but that they do tomorrow?! One other time a staff member did open one for us so why sometimes and not others?! Why do they have to make customers lives harder because they are too lazy?!

  • Aithne Mayes

I have been very disappointed at the selection of fresh Lactose free products at Coles Cannon Hill. Zymil makes a WHIPABLE cream, but Coles only stocks Zymil lactose free POURING cream, though MOST people want cream for WHIPPING! And, Jalna now has a selection of lactose free yogurts, but Coles is not stocking them. Come on Coles, stop narrowing your selection, and cater for all of your customers.

  • I,M&H M

This is a dreadful Coles, the old bird who work on the express / service desk with some purple plastic flower in her hair or some 1980's headband is always rude and a real snappy Tom. Fruit and veg but good quality. Sometimes they do markdowns in the meat section say for chicken due to expire and mark down 0.17c - wow, real intising to buy food close to spoiling for such an incredible discount.

  • Marta Barborini

Unfortunately I can find only a few items with no plastic around them. I guess that now a days is a huge difference having this choice especially in the big brands. I would like to buy what I need without the plastic that I do not need and neither our planet does. There are already many options in 2019. Till this happens I'm happy to shop in the smaller shops where they are more mindful.

  • Donnie Dangerous

Update: popped in again. literally no staffed checkouts were open. Only the self service checkouts. Customer service is nonexistent. There was only one checkout open and it had a 12 item limit. Also the only staff member operating the checkout had to cover the service desk. People were lining up with trolleys full of stuff so it took forever to get through. Avoid this store if you can

  • Parkinson's Johnston

It's ok. A few lines have been deleted, which is disappointing. Shelves are missing stock, like the eggs today, and some chiller products. I'm finding their prices are not as competitive as they have been. My shop is smaller. There is a longer wait at the check out too. I have been a staunch supporter of Coles, but admit to spreading my shopping to Aldi and Woolies.

  • NICOLA JOHNSTON

Its sad, Imricon and Covid logistical transport issues are causing product shortages. As soon as product arrives its on the shelves. Staff under the pump, but remaining helpful and courteous. Normally, Coles carries a great range of products, staff very friendly and helpful. I'm a regular customer and enjoy the camaraderie with them all. It's a great store.

  • Daniel Brennocks

Very friendly staff this is where I do most my shopping never had a problem. I accidentally walk through the check out with my dog's flea and tick treatment underneath a packet of water and didn't realise do till I got home that I didn't pay for it I rang them they are really good about it and really thankful I would highly recommend this place

  • Sam Sharik

Poor customer service around 8 pm 29/07/2020. After waiting for 10 minutes at the express checkout and being ignored by the staff. I reached out to a staff member Kendra ( young blonde girl ) who made me feel she didn't want to serve me. I went to Woolworths afterwards and felt staff were alot happier and provided great service.

  • Brenda Beattie

Quite a pleasant morning for indulgent top up shopping, however there were no manned checkouts! Needed to scan and pack my own trolley of groceries in a tiny self service space. Too much like hard work for a Sunday morning. A bit of a downer because it means Coles don't care whether I shop there or not. Thank god for options.

  • Alana Taylor

I just want to say a massive thank you to kayden.he has served me the last few times I have done my groceries and he has the most outstanding customer service. He is always so happy and friendly and I just want to say thank you, this Coles is so lucky to have you …

  • Chloe Cavendish

No stock in the deli, and when you ask for something they get angsty and said “there is nothing left” and rolled her eyes and didn’t bother having a look, didn’t even have a name tag on either. As one of the biggest supermarket stores I would have expected better…

  • Darren Mudge

Keeping prices down down down my a.rse ! Coles 8 kg dog food 13 dollars A short time later 15 dollars A even shorter time later 17 dollars todays price 19 DOLLARS ! Don’t reward coles buy elsewhere. Not supporting there crazy price hikes no more I’m out !

  • Dan

Standard specials with Coles. Not a huge selection on the meats fridge for beef, pork, lamb cuts. Standard choices when it comes to fruit and veggies. Good place to do standard grocery as in Cannon Hill shopping centre and there's lots of parking space.

  • Muhammad Miftah

Two entrances to the self serve checkout is so friggin annoying. You head over to the next available checkout and someone else takes it before you; not their fault, they didn’t notice you. Just have one entrance so people wait in ONE queue.

  • Dorothy Taylor

The shop is a Coles. As expected. Car park design is dangerous. When they re-did them, they should have had a pedestrian walk along the closest part and moved traffic through the bottom of the car park. Having the big pillars right next to

  • Emily Sergeant

The staff at Coles Cannon Hill are always so helpful and professional. I’m writing this review for one staff member in particular, Today I witnessed an awful customer argue over the price of bread rolls, I couldn’t believe how rude he was!

  • Kristy

I have always an encountered lovely staff here. Not sure why but I feel that the store is smaller and takes less time to go around and collect your products. Although check out seems to be faster at Coles ..both self serve and via checkouts

  • Will Bassett (Badger)

Overall an average experience as per usual at this Coles. I think it's a reflection on management. 3 or 4 staff standing around chatting for about 20 minutes. Thanks to Siena though for her excellent service at the till

  • Andrew Bentley

Is open until 9pm on most days and has a generally good layout with friendly staff but I find the store often has low stock and am frequently having to go to woolworths across the road to get items no longer available.

  • Brenda Dawson

I give your store phone answering service top stars for being quick to answer, dealing with my product query promptly and far superior to Woolworths who I usually deal with but you have won me over. Thank you!

  • Tommu Borgir

Pretty annoyed that they removed even more "conveyor belt" checkouts in space for self service ones, where you can't put through a full shop without the stupid machine complaining when you move anything

  • Joy Treichel

The problem with this shop is for the 12 items or less aisle, they mostly have 1 open and that person has to serve the cigarette/service counter as well. Then you wait! Too lousy to have 2 staff on.

  • Andy Pudmenzky

Great range, lots of self check-outs - but the whole mishmash of joined shopping complexes, dodgy carparks and rat-run roads everywhere makes it a pain to get to quickly if you're traveling by car.

  • David Gillespie

Good store but chronically understaffed. It is much worse now that they have increased the self serve. Barely ever have even 2 checkouts open and always massive queued - go to Colmslie instead.

  • ANN DISS

This centre is undergoing a big makeover. Coles is brighter, stock is well displayed and choice is excellent. Makeover has caused minor, if any inconvenience to shoppers. Everything feel new.

  • Joy Treichel

Quite often can't get what i want. The 12 items or less aisle is terrible because staff have to serve the cigarette section as well so often a long wait. Not a good shop at all.

  • Nicole O'Connor

It's ok for a Coles but the produce section is poorly maintained. They are quite busy store and the produce sections needs more attention, shelves are regularly empty.

  • Brian Hurst

On the day I shopped there, a Saturday, the stock levels of fresh food were low - No chicken breast or Salmon fillets. Hopefully the manager will address this issue

  • Richard Pearce

Was dissapointed that we could find Coles branded soy milk and the fish counter only has teo tsil pieces of salmon put a bit of damper on the shopping experience.

  • GEOFFREY HILL

Meat terrible especially rump steak it was good but terrible lately I end up giving it to my dog can not even chew it.I have had enough will be going elsewhere

  • Malphas

We the people demand 750ml bottles of Bundaberg Sarsaparilla!!! Once supplied and available on store shelves all reviews will be updated to 4 and above stars!

  • Stella Aurora

A bit expensive in the fresh produce section. However good selection of ready to go meals and salads. Convenient location near doctors and chemist and Kmart.

  • Bobbie Oshea

A fair grocery store with most things in stock. A good small section of Asian and Italian groceries. Could do with expanding in world foods but generally ok.

  • Rachel 1

My Local. But dissapointed that they don't have someone dedicated to pulling stock forward on the top shelves. Not fair on us vertically challenged people.

  • Grant P

Who the heck designs the layout of this store? Appallingly hard to find basic goods which are spread from one end of store to the other. Not recommended

  • Leighton Walden

This place is your average coles, can be a bit stressful and busy. It has most items and it is usually stocked alright, customer service is mediocre

  • Andrew Birchley

Fairly big store with helpful staff. Plenty of parking under cover. Store was missing a couple of items today that they have at Woolworths.

  • Andrew Roma

It's a Coles. Decent size but not huge, so the range is good but not great. Light and bright and usually not a huge line up for service.

  • Andy Roo

No products available. Are Coles Group going broke? There are no products on the shelves and no staff to restock or assist customers.

  • Janine McMahon

I now have kung foo fighting stuck in my head and was told not to dance in the isles of Coles by my daughter :( boring shopping trip

  • Wayne Jack

Looks like they have changed things around again. Now you have to go looking for what you want because they have moved isles again

  • C N

Was served by a young boy at the till, yawning and seems half asleep. Doesn't even greet customers, seems very unwilling to work.

  • Catherine Curtis

This supermarket stands out over other Coles because there are usually plenty of checkouts open with actual operators on them!

  • Marlis Duff

Well about 50 of us arrived xmas eve for an advertised 7am to find it closed till 9am very disappointed we were not happy.

  • Jeff & Amanda Wecker

As you expect, they have groceries and stuff. Store was clean and not too crowded. Just like most other Coles stores.

  • Paul K

No checkouts open, left disappointed. Heading to Woolworths, who always have at least on open (Cannon Hill brwnches)

  • Jono Lintott

Good local supermarket. Is a bit on the small side and the layout can be confusing if you don't shop here regularly.

  • Saveloys

Good store, friendly staff. This store is fairly busy so products are usually fresh, can be a little busy at times.

  • Milton Kildey

Experience was great, policing of scanning in was non existent, several people without masks were also a put off

  • Larnie Darling

Big open store with reasonable stock levels. Always busy and hard to get around due to people and trolleys etc.

  • Massimo B

Not as busy as usual, clearly due to lock down. Still functioning like normal and a great place to shop...

  • CPBricks

missing a lot of stock & trolley staff need to watch when moving trolleys and not running customers over.

  • Irene Kennedy

Not enough staff serving at front service counter, I find your always waiting for some time to be served

  • Lee Ebejer

Confused with milk and cheese at opposite sides of the store. Why wouldn't these be at the same ends.

  • Paul Pease

Was able to find what we needed quickly and pay almost immediately using the self service terminals

  • Megan F

Handy, with very friendly customer focused staff. But it does get very crowded on the weekends.

  • Akhil Kambil

Good coles store, well maintained and a nicer alternative to the nearby woolworths cannon hill

  • Christos Liambas

My favourite supermarket. Just the right size. Excellent location with everything you need.

  • Suzanne Dalton

Great place to do a fast shop, but had run out of Dotties biscuits and pineapple poppers.

  • Peter Walsh

They literally never have any stock. Is this store not liked by head office or something?

  • Steve Neale

Fruit n veg pretty poor and pricey. Check outs cramped and busy. Not a great experience.

  • klarky seventyone

It is always a pleasure to walk in to the Cannon Hill Coles, they have everything there.

  • Brian Swanborough

Staff not very helpful and coughing without cover there mouths whilst surving customers

  • Peter Massey

Overpriced and lacking in various stock that Woolworths normally carry quite surprised.

  • Erold Carter

Done a quick top up shop while I was at there for diabetic meds from chemist warehouse

  • Daniel Kelly

Everything I need not to many out of stocks can get very busy just pick your times

  • Stuart G

Great store with an excellent range of products. Friendly staff and easy parking.

  • giovanna giovanna

Stop shopping at Coles because didn't give the money to the farmers. Dishonest !!

  • James Bonnett

A lot better than the Woolies at Cannon hill. Usual products, friendly staff

  • Aditya Rao

Good selection of food. Although smaller than some other Coles.
