Homesick fixed! Truely found this places has the best kaya butter toast and chicken rice with reasonable price. Atmosphere is great too! This is probably our 6th visit to the cafe and food quality has been very consistent. Menu has been updated a few times over the course of time which we think it is great! The food items below are our staple, We order them every visit! . Do not limited by them, there is a lot of other delicious items on the menu too!! Try it for yourself!! Our recommendations: - Chicken rice (limited serves per day, be quick to avoid disappoitment). - Kaya butter toast and onsen eggs, paired with a cup of long black and you will be on cloud nine. ⛅️

Had a lovely first breakfast in Hobart at this cosy cafe located next to/within a pharmacy. The kaya toast (make sure you add the onsen eggs) is one of the best I've had - the kaya is so fragrant with pandan and the butter is in a thin even layer rather than a thick chunk in the middle like many places do it. We ordered the chicken rice, congee, bak mee and laksa. I'd say that for the traditionally more intensely flavoured and heavier dishes, i.e. bak mee and laksa, Bumi's version is a little lighter, particularly the laksa broth, which was thin and coconut milky. Would've preferred it more rich, but still a tasty and satisfying meal nonetheless! Service was friendly and smiley :)

Hidden gem!! Nice little cafe in Hobart CBD. Entrance is from Your Hobart Health. We had kaya toast, chicken rice, chicken noodle (my dad couldn’t wait to have it so missed the pic), Bumi salad and brown sugar ice coffee. Kaya toast was crunchy on the outside and the kaya spread wasn’t overly sweet (how I like it). Chicken rice is well seasoned, sauce on top gave nice balance of sweet an savoury and the broth on the side was not plain. Salad was perfect for warm summer in Hobart (visited in December). Brown sugar ice coffee is very refreshing, not too sweet. My fave brown sugar coffee so far.. Went back the next day for take away coffee and matcha latte (can ask without sugar). Will definitely revisit before flying back home.

Food is yummy but so much room for improvement. We were a group of three, one person’s meal came about 10 minutes earlier than the other two, we waited for about 40 minutes to have all food served. We understand it’s busy however the customers who came 10 minutes later got their food before us. The cafe didn’t have a numbered system, which means food and drinks are often brought to the wrong tables during peak hours. Number the tables or give the customers number plates would be helpful. Food’s garnish and side veggies are not consistent, which is ok cause the flavour is quite good and consistent.

Jeanny and Hatta, they gave us an awesome experienced while we're in tassie. All the food and beverages served by love, and they are all very delicious, beyond our expectation. Coffee is also amazing, indonesian roasted coffee they said.

Food was absolutely fantastic. Had the hainanese chicken rice, black laksa, Gado gado and Pandan Kaya toast. The chicken rice is spot on, the chilli sauce nails it and the chicken and rice cooked to perfection. I can totally see why they only have 5 star ratings. Also not to mention the service with a smile. The Pandan Kaya toast was also another star (you just have to try this). Keep up the great work. Will be back definitely. My background is being a huge foodie and also Malaysian.

I had the Gado Gado (I asked to add chargrilled prawns for extra) and Matcha Latte, and it was one of the best breakfasts in a cafe I've had! Great Indonesian style breakfast cafe, owned by two lovely hospitable young professionals who make and serve the best food and drinks.

I know it’s a big call but I have to say that this little cafe offers one of the best Hainanese chicken dishes that I’ve had in australia. Get in quick though as there’s a limited serving of portions each day. Almost forgot to mention how good the coffee is too!

Really lovely food all round. Chicken rice is superb, shokupan bread- probably the only place to get one so good as here. Breakfast udon is also a surprise delight, and Bak Mee is also recommended. Everything has been made with such love and a keen eye for detail. Get in quick for the famous chicken rice as limited 25 serves a day.

Chicken rice here is the best in Australia. Chicken was tasty and flavor was amazing! We have also ordered the soba noddle and coconut bread. All awesome. Very happy we would have another place that could go for lunch every week.

Went at 9am on a Thursday and enjoyed my Kaya toast and turmeric tamarind drink with a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. However, i tried my friend's halloumi burger and there was a very strong taste of mustard (i think) which was almost overpowering so maybe be wary of that if you come here.

Omg the Buddha bowl with gado gado sauce is to die for. Very tasty and full filling even though i am not vegetarian. The chicken congee is also nice and my husband loves his Bak me ( dry noodle dish with chicken). 5/5 stars. Will definitely try other dish next time i am on Hobart.

We had a wonderful brekkie today at Bumi Coffee! I tried the kaya toast with runny egg - it was delicious! The combination of sweet and savory and the dish presentation just give you a happy start to the day! The coffee was also really good a d the service was spotless!

I ordered the HER grilled Halloumi breakfast burger and I really wanted to love it, but the mustard sauce was overpowering and tasted like wasabi tbh. The Kaya butter Pandan toast made up for it though. It was definitely a bit of a struggle to finish the burger sadly.

We had a very lovely Sat morning brunch here. My noodle soup with chicken was lovely and I loved the pickled chili the rest of the group were very happy with theirs too!

Hainanese Chicken Rice was good. But their sauces was not too special. I think it would be better if I did not pour in the chilli sauces. The chicken itself already tasty (not a plain steam chicken) without sauces. The rice was moisturiser

We came here for breakfast & ordered the chicken rice, BLT breakfast roll and coffee. Not only was the food presented beautifully but it also tasted amazing!! The chicken rice is the best and I've eaten alot coming from Melbourne. The chill

Their South-East Asia inspired menu will satisfy you craving. Bumi Coffee makes delicious bubur abang-abang Indonesian style congee, served with deep fried bread, soybean (traditionally peanuts) and crackers that you must try in cold

An excellent Sunday morning breakfast at Bumi Coffee. Great chicken rice and Bak Mee. Nice flat white coffee. Choice of still or sparkling water or milk for cold brew coffee.

Reasonable priced Singaporean food and coffee! I looked at the menu with surprise due to low price and secondly shocked again, because food was good considering what I paid for. I will be happily back there again.
