I do love this place and its food and coffee selections. However, 4th Dec 2021 I need to say something about their online experience in the hope they can change it for the better. I feel you are disadvantaged using this app for online ordering. 3x times now at Sorell branch I have ordered online and had to wait until someone noticed the printed ticket. First 2 times I was asked after they served other customers if I wanted something then they noticed the ticket once I told them, the 3rd time (just now at 0800 Saturday 4th Dec) I was in before about 6 other customers, they didnt notice until they were serving the first customer of that 6 and I got my food after those 6 people had their order. I then had to explain myself to the represenetaives and they miss-interpreted what i said and then mis-represented what i said to the manager so I had to further explain, the whole point of online for me is discreteness i feel and this was the opposite experience I had. It was an all round disadvantaged situation and I feel it needs more work to successfully sell your online experiance. The coffee was prompt and in the correct order, so spot on there. ***update*** 15th Dec 21 The Banjo's team have since come back to me and said they've taken onboard my experiences in the hopes to model a solution to this issue going forward. I hope it is technology based in line with their app i.e. screens that go direct to someonr out the back cooking and the barista and not just 'telling' the staff to be more mindful, as that is just human nature and that can't be fixed.

Stopped by for a cuppa and cake. Ordered Chai, Hot Chocolate and Latte as cakes were expensive and not many left. Drinks were 1/3 froth and served dine in using paper cups. The restaurant was dirty with tables not cleaned or wiped (crumbs and spills on many of them despite dishes being cleared). Paper and rubbish was shoved down the sides of seats, which look they have not been cleaned recently (loads of dirt, crumbs and yuck was down there when I pulled one piece of screwed up paper bag out). Would not recommend this cafe for coffee and food, only would recommend buying their bread. Latte was burnt

I have to apologise. I did not intend the negative review to apply to your bakery. Your scallop pie was fine. However, seeing that you read these posts Could you pls consider installing Covid-19-safe ventilation, HEPA standard filtration, publically visible CO2 monitors & have your staff wear n95 equivalent or better masks? This pandemic is far from over, and if the Banjo Bakery chain could lead the way in Covid-safe air quality it would be a great selling point. Your customers survive & your business prospers!!

My sausage roll was undercooked and made me unwell the next day, it was spongey and the pastry undercooked too. The tables were dirty and the entire place needs a good scrub. Worn upholstery is not a great look and looks grubby. Dine in drinks should not be served in disposable cups in my opinion. Not impressed.

Not normally one to complain about price, but if I was on a stool today I would have fell off. $16/$17 for four party pies and a choccy milk. Upon questioning the girl who served me, she stated pies were $2.70 each and a choccy milk $5.75. Woolworths sells the same milk for $2.90, that's a near 300 % mark up from Woolies and guaranteed you get it cheaper still from the supplier. The party pie cost, let's not even go there, what a rort. Won't be doing Banjo's anymore.

Went there 2:05 pm on 7 th August, ordered a regular flat white take away and the girl with glasses pony tail give me coffee without lid, ask for one give me wrong size at first and shop wasn’t busy just me and the other customer. Second time give me the right size just throw it on the desk while I was holding my hand ready to catch from her hand, very rude service feel disappointed at Banjo. She doesn’t know how to work in hospitality please do not work here anymore

As a tour guide I try to bring my guests into Banjos wherever we are BECAUSE I can depend on the food being good and the toilets being clean. It was They were Staff nice BUT....... Although I don't Expect free stuff a discounted coffee never hurt etc...... And today, when I had already bought a large coffee and a pie I was 5c short for the second pie and said Im 5c short should I use a card, she said Yes! That would be fine ........ hmmmmm Not Happy Won't be back.

  • Peter Vrakatselis

Do the market on the weekend regularly in Sorrell and have started to pop in here regularly of late. The reason...... 1. The coffee has been the best I've come across from other Banjo's outlets 2. The staff are super friendly Add to that the ease of parking out the front, the cleanliness inside and the smell of the food.....what more could you want!

Ridiculously good vanilla slice donut with standard meat pie. Not too sure about plugging the cape grim beef bacon and cheese but I’ll happily allow it with the quality I experienced. My first time to a banjo’s from the mainland and I will happily return.

After having bad morning and rather hungry I stopped by at Banjos Sorell to have something to eat. I purchased a scone and a ricotta rolls. But to my dismay I dropped my scone. Emma, a staff member came to my rescue with a replacement scone. She restored my faith in humanity. Thank you Emma.

Burnt my coffee, which burnt my tongue and tasted horrible, didn't put my sugars in, also feel some of your Sorell banjos staff may have problems with people of different races and social status. I may be visibly poor but I deserve the same treatment as everyone else.

  • James M

Only place in Sorell that offers consistently good coffee. Very busy in the morning and wait times can be long during those periods but again that's only testament to how good it is. Anyone travelling through Sorell wanting a coffee would do well to stop here.

  • michael corcoran

Went to Banjo's in Sorell to buy a Meat Pie, to my shock price $6.50 for a Pie outragous said no thanks and left. Two weeks ago it was $5.50 bad enough. Comes a time Mr Banjo's it's just toooo much . Lost me as a customer. Nothing to do with Russia or Covid.

  • Mark Burns

Went for lunch, enjoyed some pies, they were great however the best experience was the staff, so nice and helpful, I must give my thanks specifically to Kayla, very lovely person and prompt with her service. Will definitely be back, 10/10

In between cherry stops, we pulled in at Banjo's Bakery Cafe. This affordable Tasmanian bakery chain captured my attention by promising six scallops in every Scallop Pie ($8.50). We counted seven in ours, though didn’t rate this pie’s

  • Karen Harriss

Dirty tables, floors and staff uniforms. Flys crawling on the shared opened tomato sauce bottle. Very low levels and variety of stock available (for lunch time). Very slow coffee service for number of clients getting coffee (15 mins)

  • Suraj Sudeep

Delicious pies and toasties. One of the best places to indulge if you would like to try a variety of sweet and savoury delicacies. Got an amazing hot chocolate in the cold morning and loved it. The ambience is cozy and comfy as well.

  • Andrew Hudson

Usual Banjos, clean TOILET (rest room) parking usually good. Location close to other services. I had one of their curried scallop pies today, quite different to the usual ones. It had vegetables in it, I'd highly recommend them.

  • Steve D

Excellent service from staff. The bakery fare was varied and good quality. The amount of packaging just for a single toastie was ridiculous though. A cardboard wrap, a napkin & another piece of paper on the plate is overkill.

  • Ella Woods

Ordered food this morning for the family and was very disappointed. When we got home we we found two of the pies were wrong and the croissants were burnt underneath and we also found a small black spider in the croissant bag.

  • Trent Cliffe

Nice bakery with very friendly staff. Sandwiches were really tasty but the cheese and bacon rolls were definitely top. They had just come out fresh as well when we arrived. If you can’t decide what to get I would go for them.

  • Jimmy M

Good location, has its own carpark area Coffee was great, mocha was so hot, burnt my wife's mouth, vanilla slice was a great size and very tasty lots of potential, just needs the barista to be consistent ☕ …

  • A J

Looked around Sorell for a nice scallop pie - found it here ! Great pastry, very tasty curry sauce - very nice indeed - lots of other good looking items on the menu - lots of seats inside and out and friendly service

  • Jessica Lewis

Banjos currently are making the best coffee in Sorell (my opionion)!!! Trish has made consistently good coffee for us over the last few visits we have been. Thanks for giving us the best start to our day Trish!!!

  • Sue Khan

Decided to have breakfast at cafe. Friendly staff but need education on food handling. Gloves worn on both hands and used to bag goods. Same gloves used to access till and give change. Not good practice.

  • Rachel Crooks

Nice and clean store with super friendly staff. I'm fussy with my coffee and have not had an issue. The focaccia's and other cold foods are yummy but so overpriced for the quantity of ingredients.

  • Janne Anderson

Coffee was the best - we will remember this stop on our trip. I never eat pies - but I had a pepper steak pie yum yum. If you don't like pepper - have something else :) it was good..

  • Lynda Clarkson

If you want cheery, smiling and friendly service this is the place. But if you want Devonshire tea or coffee you have to settle for cold scones - what a shame. Coffee nice and hot.

  • marlene eaton

Good little cafe. Staff pleasant food good would be better if it was bigger more like the Moonah shop. A bit squishy and music a little quieter. Coffee very good..enjoyable visit.

  • Santo Arabia

Enjoyed the sausage rolls and pepper steak pie. Lemon bun was nice but limited range as we arrived after lunch. Coffee was also good. Will try again earlier in the day next time.

  • Nessa K

Shop is always clean & tidy when I've been in there, usually don't have to wait too long for hot drinks, staff appear to be nice, friendly and know what they're doing.

  • Izabell Tovey

Very disappointing, use to have great tasting products. Pie and riccotta roll were dried out and hardly any filling. Won't bother purchasing from Banjos anytime soon.

  • James Lawrie

Visiting from South Australia - the sausage roll was the best we've had anywhere! The Parmy Pie was also amazing, as was the coffee. Amazing stop on our holiday.

  • Peter Hill

Tourist trap - scallop pie. Had one, had one scallop... might have been two. Twice the price of other pies. Tastes nice. Otherwise good quality food.

  • Sonya Clark

Unable to get a coffee at banjos today 3pm, perhaps organise cleaning the coffee machine at a more suitable time Really‼️it’s not rocket science

  • Geoffrey Hill

Excellent service location and outlook to central park the ladies ask and then give you a glass of water with your long black. Outstanding

  • J-rad Mc

Cozy little small town style bakery/cafe with great variety of baked goods and coffee. We had the smoked salmon pita, it was delicious!

  • Vaughan Bishop

Consistently gets my order wrong or misses items. The only reason I still go here is because my wife likes it. Not impressed.
