I just had an unfortunate negative experience at Aldi Tingalpa. I do often shop here, however today’s service from one of the female staff on the registers has left me feeling like I won’t visit this store again. The line up to check out was long, which is no issue, and I had a basket full of groceries which I unloaded on the conveyor belt. Once the basket was empty, I wasn’t sure where to put it, and saw one was already on a nearby pallet, so I put mine with it. To be honest, I didn’t know Aldi supplied baskets until recently, as I normally use a trolley. After a minute or so, the staff member yelled out at me to move the basket and place it on the bench. I was taken back by this, as I was a few people deep in the line, and it took me a moment to register that she was talking to me. When I realised, I said sorry & picked mine and the other basket up. As the line was busy, I was then stuck in the line holding two baskets, as I was unable to get to the bench. Once I was at the top of the line, I placed the baskets on the packing bench. When she served me, she clearly had an attitude with me. It is to be noted, I was never once rude, and did exactly what she asked of me - she clearly just had a chip on her shoulder. I have worked my entire working life in retail and customer service roles & would never disrespect a service worker. However, I do expect to be treated with the same respect. For her to not even give me eye contact was outright rude, especially after how she had just spoken down to me in front of a group of strangers. I understand that Aldi’s business model is to be mostly self serve and that is fine, however today showed that some of the staff could do with some customer service training. It costs nothing to be kind and how people are made to feel in your stores affects the brand. I know this may sound like a first world problem, however it clearly bothered me, and there is also nowhere (nowhere obvious, anyway), on Aldi’s website to leave any feedback, or any way to contact the store direct.
By far the filthiest Aldi I have ever been to. There is something wrong with the way they store their milk, I think, because EVERY time I have bought milk there it goes off within 2 to 3 days. Often out of stock of basic items like mineral water, sliced cheese, orange juice etc. It is also extremely difficult to "check in" if you don't have a smart phone - you have to interrupt a checkout operator to do it manually, causing other customers to wait even longer to get through with their shopping. Fresh produce - HA! They leave it to sit there mouldering away - mostly, I suspect, because they simply will not hire enough staff to keep things rotating through.
After having a medical emergency at Aldi on Saturday the 19th, I have to seriously commend the staff for all the care and support they provided me. As embarrassing as it was for me they looked after me and waited with me until the ambulance arrived. Being so kind and caring to my kids and offering all support they could. I definitely have to commend the manager Josh and the lovely lady (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name, I think it was Lucia) who stayed by my side the whole time. Thank you so much for all your support, such amazing staff and you should be so proud of your team.
They have great products, but the service is and always will be horrendous. Pushing your items across their checkout counters so rapidly, they almost always push something onto the floor, forcing you to pack your own bag so rapidly that all your items get crushed. Don't even bother buying a bulky special buy if you're not strong enough to lift it over head singlehandedly, they literally will not leave their seats at the checkout to help you lift an item too large to fit through their lanes, let alone help you get it out of the shop.
Loved it only because it's a decent place. Would I shop here regularly? No. Their prices aren't cheaper than a lot of the staples that Coles and Woolies have up the road. They have great specials but it comes down to knowing what the specials are. And also don't advertise them online so making comparisons when I shop are virtually impossible and I'm not going to make one effort to walk around the shop to see what savings I can get. When the budget is tight, sure they can be good, but not reliably.
Certainly lacking in the customer service department. After inquiring with a staff member, I was informed that the item I was asking after was yet to be delivered (she didn't even bother checking), 40 minutes later I found what I was looking for right at the back of a bin. For such a small item I would have thought they would be towards the front. I wasn't impressed and will probably go to Bunnings next time.
I love this shop, there is a lot of variety and the weekly specials are good too, and the prices are great! I get a lot more in my trolley, their yoghurt, cheeses and ice creams are all at a great price, cleaning stuff is good too at a good price, nothing bad to say except the checkout people need to slow down a bit,... trying to dump everything in the trolley is hard when you are on your own...
Pictures show the manufacturing date and warranty. Aldi want to know what date and which store this was purchased from. I think the important thing here is the broken blade that I could have swallowed and not a $50 refund. Perhaps a better response would be to receive it and send it to their buyer for product recall so nobody has a serious injury.
Plenty of undercover parking available. Store has recently been refurbished giving it a fresher more modern look and feel. Stock levels are good, never not had anything I needed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Check out operators are quick and you never have wait long to get through. Would recommend.
Not as large an aldi as I had hoped. Had to go at the self-service. Wasn't particularly impressed. I had picked up an article that had been reduced and when I scanned it it came up at the full price. They fixed the price for me but of course that meant I was standing there longer than I had hoped
It's always great shopping at Aldi they have everything you need at lower prices, the meat is always quality and delicious, fresh fruit and vegetables are always in stock and the staff are always very helpful, will choose Aldi over Woolies and Coles anyday for a quick generic shop.
I've regularly shopped here for several years now and haven't had a bad experience. The staff are all friendly and helpful and checkouts are opened as needed. It's easy for me to nip in and out and it usually costs me less than the majors
Aldi Tingalpa has a new staff member, Louis who always asks his customers "what has been the best part of your day, today" and completes this with a genuine smile. Lovely young man and huge asset to this branch. The 5 stars are for Louis!
Got double scanned/overcharged. Annoying. Was in a rush so I couldn't check (also paid by cash). I only bought 3 items, wish the COC was a bit more focussed as I would have stood to benefit instead of incur the loss I incurred today.
It was good Different.... but good. Looks great since refurb. Undercover parking is a great place to get stuck into some Knoppers and shut the kids up. Dont forget your coin for the trolley. …
Bargain prices, lovely staff and even lovelier customers. The last two times I have visited, the lady in line in front of me has offered me to go through first as I had less items. Literally made my day!
Great location for surrounding areas. So great that it is rarely not busy (at least when I go anyways). Surrounding stores too, variety for most needs.
Low on some stock still Carpark was a mess Prices have gone up a bit but still cheaper than Coles and Woolies with a lot of good quality items.
This is a good shop to buy in As it's cheaper than Coles and has different things to buy other than groceries eg. Kids toys and other things
Variety of top quality meats. Prices are good. Many great bargains in the middle isles. From gardening, yard, household needs.
Self checkout is a waste of space and waited ages for checkout as cashier was called constantly to help at self checkout.
A great place for budget grocery shopping, less variety than other big supermarkets, but it's much more affordable.
Easy to find things in the shop, the car park can be challenging when it's busy, as you have to park further away.
More affordable prices but some branded items are not available. Overall would recommend …
Can be put of stock a fair bit.. and the trolley tag system is ridiculous.. so archaic
Yeah good. No questions asked returns. And amazing priced sundried tomatoes
Great products and prices just need to open more check out lines
Good range of stock. Fruit and vegetables very fresh.
In Aldi we get everything we want. Nice shop
Awesome cheap and good food
