"I went there last night had a mint lamb bagel for 4"
"The food is pretty awful for what you get, i paid £8"
"Pretty disappointing"
"I was there on Saturday the 19/03/22 at about 4:20 The worker that was serving me was wearing glasses and was very unprofessional"
"Been coming to this place for years & love their sweet bread however the last couple times I’ve been here the Eastern European lady at the till had been really rude, she had thrown my change and the bread at me which I was shocked about, I "
I went there last night had a mint lamb bagel for 4.40 a price of ham and coconut cake and a somosa come to 12 pound not only is the price a absolute joke but as we speak I’m sat on the toilet in pain …. Not knowing how long the stuff has been sitting in the shop as they make in bulk … 12 pound not worth the dodgy belly !!!
The food is pretty awful for what you get, i paid £8.10 for a bagel and sausage roll. I only got the sausage roll because you can’t pay with card unless it’s over £5. It was pretty much inedible, bearing in mind i’m 6 months pregnant and need to be careful with what i eat. I felt very sick afterwards.
Pretty disappointing. The bagel tasted fine but I was handed it cold - I had to ask for it to be warmed up and then they just microwaved it. Whatever happened to toasting a bagel then putting the cheese on? I will probably just buy a pack from this place to cook at home.
I was there on Saturday the 19/03/22 at about 4:20 The worker that was serving me was wearing glasses and was very unprofessional. I’ve been coming to this place for ages and I always ask for extra clear bags for my bagels and always got it
Been coming to this place for years & love their sweet bread however the last couple times I’ve been here the Eastern European lady at the till had been really rude, she had thrown my change and the bread at me which I was shocked about, I
The bagels are absolutely amazing. I had the buttered bagels and Salt beef, and minted lamb and dill filled bagels and it was sooooo good. The bagels was as they should that chewy texture is a1 bagel in London. I also bought a bread and it
BEST bagels in London, although other than the bagels I don't think the other items are particularly good. You need not expect a warm welcome as the staff are consistently grumpy. I still go back to this place as the bagels are really good.
Came here twice in 4 days to get some bagels and always enjoyed it. Really good quality ingredients and not too expensive. I’d defo recommend if you’re in the area. They also do pastries, cakes and other savoury food but haven’t tried them.
Been 2 or 3 times, before the pandemic (and before the social media-driven hype). The place is rustic (to use a nice expression) and the food is very disappointing. Perhaps they want to mimic similar bagel places in NYC, but the reality is
Yesterday, my daughter bought 5 eclairs, 5 cheese and onion, 2 cheesecake and bread. I was very disappointed that the eclairs were so dry and cream had no taste to it. The cheese and onion tasted like mashed potatoes. Not cheesy or oniony.
Not been here in years but as l was in the area I thought I'd go in and buy a coupla items. Got 4 bagels. No complaint here. Got a sausage roll and that was bad. I won't say it was disgusting but short of it - and I never use the word. The
Yeah.. got to admit.. 10 years ago when I first moved to this area Happening seemed like an exciting place to grab something to eat late night but now.. there are so many better places nearby. Lady who always serves gives off an attitude
This is THE bakery to go to for anything and everything you ever wanted or needed from a bakery in all of the UK!! Without a doubt, hand to heart, you can't go wrong with anything you buy from The Happening!! Small, yes! Great personable
I go in there for their cholla bread; I find the Kosher bread that is low in/lacking yeast does not cause irritation as per my gluten intolerance as with typical bread, particularly sliced bread or spelt flour bread. The staff there are
Best bagels for take home I've had in London so far. They boil the bagels before they bake them which is a vital step for the right consistency and one that many places in London like the shops skip because most people don't know how a
Everything looked so tasty...we couldn't wait to eat it, well we shouldn't have got it the first place... The spinach and cheese pie/pastry was ok. The bread was chewy, the chicken bagel all I could taste was sweet. We had a bonus some
Bought a cake and salt fish patty, so overpriced. The lady serving so unfriendly inpatient and rude, while the other never even looked up, neither smiled once. Get your prices and staff right or you'll be loosing business at this rate.
Sorry but the cakes were just soo nasty… bought a banana cake first as everything looked amazing but it was so disgusting couldn’t even eat a second bite, my dad don’t even wanna eat it…Then decided to give it another try so bought a
Challah bread I call crack bread because its so addictive and soo yummy, it will be gome in a few days. The only place I will go for Challah bread even though I moved 45minutes away. The breads so good I can eat it without butter or
Absolutely lovely bagels! I'm staying in town for two weeks and had The Happening Bagel Bakery recommended by a friend, and I was so lucky because it was just around the corner from where I was staying. They are so fairly priced and
Customer service here is a myth. The blonde and brunette servers act like they've been dragged in from the street to work and would rather be elsewhere. There is zero hospitality from anyone who serves here. Their attitude is truly
I got the beef and 'dill' bagel? Is It even beef? No. Dill? Not that i could taste. Just SODDEN with mustard.. i had 2 bites and threw it away AND I AM REALLY HUNGRY!!!!! I WANT A FULL REFUND IMMEDIATELY !!!!!!!! More
Good bagels for London, but they are still using London water so the bagels and Challah are rather dry on the inside. All the daily bread was good. The pastries and samosas are where they really shine.
Great bread, the seeded sourdough is lovely, but be aware they don't take card below £5. A lovely Jewish bakery, highly recommended. Don't go in there if you've got a sweet tooth! Cakes to die for.
Stale biscuit and donut, samosa with little filling and large pastry I cannot recommend this to anyone. Avoid. Horrible customer service guy rushed everything and coughed everywhere More
I love this shop. Just bought 70 rainbow bagels, which I ordered on Friday. I ordered pretty late because I trust them to deliver, buying there for years for kids birthday parties.
Atrocious dill salt beef bagel. Very little beef and the dill that you’d expect to be either dill or dill picked are shaved into mustard and act as a spread rather than topping.
I didn't try the bagels but bought a scone and a few cookies. Absolutely terrible and so expensive!! (1 scone and 6 cookies for £13, I couldn't believe it. We binned them all)
One of the highlights of visiting my friends who live nearby is to visit this wonderful bakery. Ignoring the Arsenal posters as a Spurs fan, the prepared bagels are beautiful
The baked bread is fantastic. Whenever I go to buy bread, always great timing as its just out of the oven, hot, fresh and delicious. Their carrot cake is also top top …
Very expensive-especially for area. I paid almost £12 for 3 pastries and they all left something to be desired. Cake was very dry and brownie had an artificial taste to it.
The people working here might not be the friendliest in the world, but their bagels are the best I've ever tried in my whole life! Their cakes are really good as well.
Good local bakery shop on a busy area of Finsbury Park and close to Finsbury Park Station. The shop is selling a wide range of bread and cakes at reasonable price.
Purchase a jam doughnut and I'm sure it had been on sale for 3 months as it was rock hard!!! That place should be closed down before someone loses a tooth!!
Everything looks so delicious couldn't wait to eat my 11£ of pastries but the taste was the opposite of the look. So disappointed! Also the staff is grumpy.
Underwhelming bagel. At 89p a piece, it is the same price as more upscale, more taken care of bagels. Brick lane Beigel still better than this!
I’ve bought 3 different items. Absolutely dry and tasteless. Looks like they keep the food on display more then 3-4 days... plus is expensive.
Got a bagel and a doughnut and both were stale! The bagel in particular was rock solid!! Unfriendly atmosphere as well don’t recommend …
Bagels from here are still the best I've had in London. Can't comment on the cakes that recent reviewers mentioned, but the bagels are great
Bread is delish and freshly baked anytime I go there. Although staff are a bit off to me when they are under pressure. I would recommend.
Amazing hot bread from bakery, very rarely style, maybe, you can like or not, but something really different and for me delicious.
Love this bakery, but it's a bit expensive, salmon and cream cheese bagel and beef pattie....£8.05...was delicious though …
Oldskool bakery with the classic taste, one of the best in North london. Try their cheesecake mmmm to die for
Disgusting. Bought 2 slices of cheesecakes for nearly £8 and it tastes off! Will never come back again More
Didn't get what I paid for. My mate had the same experience. We didn't check till we got on the tube.
Purchased 2 doughnuts and custard tart, was like biting into a plank of wood. Would not recommend.
Have used this place over a good number of years. However, today's visit will be the last.
Really nice bagels lots of fillings to choose from and they add a lot to the sandwich too
The best place ever!!! The food is fresh and delicious, the service is great …
