Great bakery and atmosphere in the heart of the main area. Plenty of room to relax and great a feed. Disappointing to say we had the Sausage Roll and it was served lukewarm/cold. The flavours were there but it just needed to be warm. That didn't detract from how good Gail's was generally and you should definitely check it out More

It’s fine. Gails has been going downhill for a while and the Portabello road outlet is a case. Quality is ok but it feels like a Starbucks. A small range of baked goods that are brought in, they’d run out of clean cups, shop was dirty, and my cinnamon pecan cake was as a dry as a bone. I couldn’t finish it.

New favourite bakery in all of London! Each item we tried (there were a lot) was to die for. Pastries are constantly being made freshly and there is so many to choose from. If you are planning to go to Notting Hill, skip your breakfast and eat your way through the menu.

I loved it. Good food, good drinks, nice place to take a break from the crowds on Portobello Road. Prices are reasonable all things considered. They have a fairly complete lighteni and sandwiches which are far superior to what can be found

Indulging in pastries at Gail’s in Notting Hill was an absolute delight! The array of pastries was a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds, each one beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. Pairing these delectable treats

The female cashier (black hair, not very tall) at 1:30pm on Sunday July 30 was quite rude. She did not say hello or goodbye (said nothing actually), blank face, we asked for the receipt, just handed it to us without uttering a single word

Service was friendly but quite slow, we ordered a toasty which was very basic and bland and took 20' at least. The cinnamon bun and ham & cheese croissant were ok. Coffee was decent. The tables were dirty. For the price we expected better.

Gail's products have always been known to be sumptuous and elegant, and this is the reason why I come to every single one I come across in London. However one of your employees is very disrespectful and condescending and that she didn't

It's very regrettable that this location has poor customer service. On 4 October 2023 we were served by a Ewelina W. and she was very rude. When we ordered a focaccia, she first said we can only order what's on display, only reluctantly

If Gail’s is a London institution, then Gail’s on portobello road is its grand temple. It’s the pit stop for ecstatic shoppers who just struck a bargain at the fur shop, the tourists taking a break from the photo shoots, and the locals

I like this branch as it is spacious and nice to sit in and enjoy my food, staff are always nice here as well. The reason I gave a 4 stars is last time I tried the chicken Parmesan bun and It didn’t taste nice As chicken was dry.

Great bakery. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Went on Friday around 8:30 and there was a small queue but it went fast. Tables inside and outside. Clean toilet & baby changing facilities. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back.

The food at Gail’s is just delicious - you must try all the petite fours; my favorites are the the pistachio and rose cake, the salmon on poppy seed bread, the scrambled eggs and avocado breakfast roll is also very good.

Outstanding bakery. Every Gail's is great and this is no exception - cakes and pastries are the thing to order, along with a coffee. All perfect. Pistachio cake an interesting choice and not too sweet (see pictured).

Chanced upon this lovely bakery along the way to Portobello Road Market. Could be crowded with people with takeaway. Had the baked soft egg and ham and cheese. They were good with lots of ingredients. More

Let’s get the bad out of the way first: When it‘s busy, there‘s a bit of a wait and the food/coffee might not be hot any more when it arrives. Improving on coordination or employing more staff could help.

Food and drink are very good! Above standard I would even say. But it was way to busy and there was only one toilet available (where the line for it was about 10/15 minutes)

Came here on a Saturday and the place was absolutely bustling to the point where a line formed outside. It became very overwhelming. The food is A+! More

I've been several times here, the place is nice, every time ordering large latte, but: 1. The takeaway cup is small, it doesn't fit the name large.

Today’s really hot coffee award goes to coffee-making rockstar Courtney! Yay! This morning, I popped by Gail’s in Portobello Road and asked for a

Arrived late morning. Bustling place. Great food and coffee. Attentive service. Well worth a visit if you’re after some light refreshments.

This is the best Gail's Bakery I've visited for eating in. It's spacious, bright and has lots of seating on the ground floor and basement.

Staff were kind and helpful while taking your order. We had a nice breakfast at this location, paid a bit more than what we expected

  • Gerald Walus

Love breakfast here. Sausage roll, oats and coffees were all the perfect choice for a cold morning. Don't skip on the jams.

For someone who lives in Melbourne, I can say this is finally the first GOOD coffee I’ve had in the UK! More
