As someone who generally sticks to Costa due to their vouchers, I recently found myself visiting Ole & Steen, a coffee shop that I would describe as more upscale than my usual haunt. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience there. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the clean, modern atmosphere, which was quite inviting. The ambiance was pleasant and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and approachable. I would like to give a special mention to Jolie, a staff member who was not only helpful but also genuinely fun to interact with. Her cheerful demeanor made the visit even more enjoyable. The pastries on display looked absolutely scrumptious, and I couldn't resist indulging in one. I'm happy to report that it tasted just as good as it looked. Accompanying my pastry, I ordered a latte, which was also quite enjoyable. My friends and I found a bench to sit on while we savored our coffees, making for a delightful break during our day. While I don't see myself becoming a regular at Ole & Steen due to my budget-conscious habits, I must admit that it was a nice change of pace. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty offerings made it a worthwhile visit. If you find yourself passing by and fancy a treat, Ole & Steen is a great option for a special coffee experience
We had a coffee and cinamon bun and both were fantastic. There was a bit of queue with a very peculiar serving system (not what I've seen on other Ole & Steen outlets). Which meant that everyone was queuing to be served by one person regardless of whether you were buying something to eat in the shop or just buying a loaf bread to take home. This unsurprisingly resulted in a slow service... The atmosphere was great and very relaxed, although the clearing of tables seemed to he absent. We sat in an area where there was already a large pile of empty cups, plates, papers, etc. and in the hour we spent there staff walked by looked at the pile and just continued walking.

Delicious Danish pastries, sandwiches and bread! (decent bread still being a massive deficit in London believe it or not!) Love the cinnamon social and roast beef on rye. If you're a cinnamon fiend like me, you'll love this place. Decent atmosphere for a joint off Piccadilly. Always friendly and attentive staff. The only odd thing is the paper number ticket queuing system -- reminds me a bit of Italian supermarkets or Russian council offices... Edit - it has grown very fast and suffered the consequences of that.

Uncomfortably hot and the coffee uncomfortably lukewarm. Usually go to Greenwich- which we love and will continue to go there Instead!! Also some confusion over what a mince pie is and my wife only got half a cup of Americano, whilst I got come coffee flavoured warm milk instead of a cappuccino- and my rye roll didn’t taste like today’s , but we were so exhausted by the heat upstairs, we gave up. A very disheartening visit.

The food was nice although at 5pm on a Sunday options are extremely limited. No hot chocolate either. The space upstairs was filthy. Dirty mugs and plates on almost every table and no one would come to clean. Would only come back if I need coffee to take away.

Wonderful break from Costa & Starbucks.. I would definitely visit again. Had the rye bread toasties, mozzarella, and pesto.. loved the combo with a hot coffee and cinnamon bun. Pleasant atmosphere and very clean.. only downside is the staff shouting orders at the top of their voice ..no need for that, especially if a customer is there for a bit of peace and quiet..well worth a visit
Cozy place to have beautiful. There was a lot of space to eat inside. Service went very smoothly and breakfast was delicious (I took a croissant, cinnamon roll and a fresh pressed juice) and freshly made. I paid 10,50 pounds for everything, which is a little expensive for a basic breakfast. But definitely highly recommended. Everything looked so delicious.
Ole & Steen is an absolute delight! This charming bakery offers a wide array of delectable treats that will satisfy any craving. From their freshly baked bread to their irresistible pastries, every bite is a little piece of heaven. The atmosphere at Ole & Steen is warm and inviting, creating the perfect backdrop for a cozy coffee or a quick snack.
Hot chocolate was basically powder and water (or cheap milk), service practically inexistent - tables were dirty, no tray served (beverage served in paper cup and pastries in takeaway paper), no one cleans up for the next customer and at least one waiter was not wearing gloves. Appalling.

Exceptionally poor. Not enough staff to clear the tables leaving mess and dirty cups and plates piled up all over the place. With no one clearing the dirty dishes away, they offer you you order in takeaway cups because all the dishes are strewn across the tables. They're charging premium prices. Not even asking for premium service here.
Ole and Steen is always a pleasure. It's not a perfect place but their bakery is an example of things well done. On the other side this place is always messy, lot of dirty tables, people waiting for their coffee while the baristas are just chatting... If they would improve these points I would be happy to give them 10 stars if I could.
Tuna melt was really good. The poached egg was as well but a lil too much pepper. Nice atmosphere. They also have and upstairs and downstairs. Didn’t try but heard the muffins were out of this world. So for that I’ve got to come back. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and just plain nice. Overall good experience.
Great vegan options for the coffee - variations and also the food. I visit London for the Christmas holidays and so far me and my girlfriend have been visiting for breakfast every possible morning. Taking a seat is also quiet nice.

The personal seems like they are worried about taking care about the customers. Chocolate cake: the mousse was fine but the bottom was just too hard and it tasted like a hard brownie. coffee was tasting extremly bitter even with a lot of sugar. Not enjoyable, also not recommended More
Nice coffee, quick service and the cinnamon social is to die for

Great music. Great Wi-Fi but u hv to log in with fb. Great food and tarts. So delicious!! At least it looks good and appetising. Americano and my brunch options were also perfect. Easy excess for wheelchairs. Inside and outside seating. More
This proved to be a fast place to get dessert and breakfast for the next morning. I had trouble deciding among the offerings and asked for a recommendation. The server pointed me toward the Copenhagen mess, a limited special item. As I had
Very friendly and helpful staff. As someone who grew up in Denmark I can stay this is the closest you can get to a Danish bakery in the UK. Amazing cinnamon social, Copenhagen bake and coronation special cake. The place is warm and clean .
My new favorite cafe study spot. Perfect for me to complete work and tasks. Large range of snacks, cakes, desserts and foods to enjoy! More than friendly staff are incredibly attentive to me and they always are nice to talk to at least the
Tasted good but almost £8 for a toastie is unbelievable and why are the very few veggie options more expensive than meat options? The few reasonably priced items have been lost from the menu. Food is good but ultimately not worth it. More
A very cozy and pretty cafeteria / pasty shop in Covent Garden. I came here with my family based on a recommendation. I completely agree with the positive feedback I got before I came here. Decent priced food with generous quantities. I
Yikes. Just pitiful. The lady making coffee has no business at a coffee machine. Made this lukewarm giant bowl of milky coffee topped with an unbelievable amount of cocoa to pass off as a cappuccino. She was spilling coffee everywhere.
Good pastries. A bit weak cappuccino. Took away our plates before we were done with our food.

Favorites: pastrami sandwich and cinnabon social. It is a great cafe with a lot of options,we tried the pastrami sandwich, truffle mushroom sandwich, cinnamon social, Kloben bun, and king coronation cake.
Good coffee and delicious pastries. Definitely better than most of the chain coffee places, but definitely still a chain coffee place vibe present.

The food is great, toasted ham and cheese on pastry type bread was yummy. The cinnamon pastry was fresh and light. The hot chocolate was bitter, which was good for my taste!
Amazing food. Service was okay however just a little slow but it was worth the wait for the food! Prices were reasonable for central London and quality food! More
Very nice food in a great central location in London. Bakery style cafe, eatery with lovely coffee and food. Very cosy seating and lovely warmth / ambiance More
