the comment is because of RUDE STAFF, like extremely rude staff, not just to me but to others. It is my local so I go very often, you have 2 partners that are nice. others okay, then 2 that have been rude. One guy James I think his name is shouted at me because I wanted to use the main till, because my Tesco club card was not working on the other self service tills. After being shouted at for something that was not my fault, I did not use the main till again for fear of being shouted at. I do not think you actually understand the effect that has on someone who has anxiety. I expect to be able to go into a store to buy some food to eat without being shouted at. Then again I see him be really rude to a customer yesterday about 7-8ish pm Thursday 17th September and then laugh with the security guard, after the multiple occasions, I have realised this employee gets a kick out of being rude to customers so knew I had to write a review. This is unacceptable and needs to be addresses.

Look, it's a mini mart, a diddy supermarket. It has limited stock, and limited choices. It's a little more costly than a large Tesco supermarket, but that's the convenience of town centre shopping. You can usually get your essentials here... Bread milk coffee tea sugar .... All that sort of stuff. Could you do a weeks shop for a family here? Maybe, but there wouldn't be a lot of choice/s for a week of variety. It's handy, and we use it on average about twice a week. It does us our needs, the stuff we can't get here, we have delivered from the big store. I do recommend here for top up shops, basics, and a few surprises (sometimes). You want posh nosh, and 30 different versions of one thing... Go to a proper supermarket. It is what it is ... A slightly larger convenience store in the centre of town.

Tesco is my first choice when it comes to food, which is why this Tesco is an anomaly to me. Usually when I visit Clare St Tesco I leave disappointed due to lack of stock, however this time, it was because of an employee (one whom I've met before and had another unpleasant experience). She asked me for my ID, which is understandable because I look under 25 - but she didn't stop after looking at my date of birth, she asked me to tell her my birthday and would not return my card until I told her. Eventually I told her my birthday and left without making a purchase. In summary, don't go to clare st Tesco unless you want to waste your time.

Absolutely disappointing. Had to wait 15 minutes for a security tag to be removed when it wasn't busy all due to the guy before the best was to busy chatting to a colleague. When he came over I asked if I could get cigarette which all other tesco will do as self service check out however this guy response is you must join the back of another new cue. WHAT A JOKE! as a person who work in hospitally this is a joke. I would never ask a customer to sue twice espically after waiting so long on self check out. Never again will I shop here.

Decent range of food for a small shop, but let down through poor management. Social-distancing impossible on recent visit as area in front of self-service tills completely blocked off. Customers therefore had to push past other queuing customers to reach the tills or queue for the staffed tills. Given Bristol is going into tier 3 lockdown then this is quite staggeringly inept planning by management. How the manager authorised this is beyond belief....given the current crisis..

As i work in restaurant near, we have been coming in this tesco for two years but today the lady with blond hair working in till was so rude. As said why your are shouting and she told me can you proof I hope there cc camera has a voice record.I suggest you Talking politely will not take anything from you. Due to one staff everyone will be hampered. I wish for your great future but please be polite to everyone and don’t loose your tempered..

Helpful location for a small 7am - 11pm Tesco, the outside building is beautiful. It includes the basics: fruit, veg, meal deal section, alcohol + mixers, cigarettes, chocolate / snacks, bread and other breakfast foods, noodles + sauces, hot chocolate / tea / coffee, toilet paper / basic health and cleaning products and some freezer stuff on the left side of the store.

worst tesco in bristol...overcharged by the tonne by the most disrespectful incompetent good for nothing shell of a man. as a woman i felt threaten by the power imbalance this awful awful worker displayed towards me. #boycotttesco #iwantedcutterschoiceextrafineyouimbecile #mouldeverywhere #horsemeatScandalNEVERforget

Perpetually sold out of everything; the bakery is literally empty for at least 2 given days a week and its sold out within 24hours of a restock. It can't be that hard to work out they need to stock more? Work out what's selling and order more. It ain't blahdy hard! Lord Sugar would fire this store.

  • Ben Anderson

Extremely RUDE staff especially EMILY. Was using self service till and was buying an energy drink so I needed to be IDed. Emily decided to audibly tut before grunting ID and snatching it out my hand. Very rude and needs proper training how to provide customer service

  • James Barton

Good basic store, you'll get all your basics plus a lot else, but not rarer and some uncommon stuff. Better range than corner store and better pricing, but not as cheap as bigger Tesco etc due to options you have.

Sold pizzas in 50% and when I went home I saw the cheeses were spoiled. Their expiration dates are for joke. Usually they don't make 50% discount, so they really wanted to get rid of the pizzas that day.

  • Daniel Wood

A small store struggling to achieve customer expectations, fridges constantly breaking down, very dirty (cleaning appears non existent). For a better experience the Co-op in College Green is better.

  • Mike Nelhams

It's spooky when the tills all speak in unison. Great small selection of essentials. Occasionally you'll be guilt-tripped by 17 homeless people rackets on the way in.

  • Timothée Lecouble

Love wasting my break time manually entering bar codes because your garbage automatic tills seemingly can't scan one in three items, then refuse to print a receipt

  • Squadron Commander

Staff are fantastic despite the abuse they get. This is my local never had any problems always find all the staff helpful and friendly

  • Jason Davies

Great store really changed in the last few weeks, feels a lot fuller and cleaner, good city centre Tesco ! Friendly and welcoming.

  • Andras Ocskai

Very polite cashier, gppd variety of goods. You need mask to go inside. The shop bog enough to find what you looking for.

  • David Elloway Smith

Normally love Tesco but don't understand why this store says it's open till 11pm when it seems to be shut at 10:30pm

  • Carl S

Typical Tesco Express, wouldn't do a weekly shop here but got everything you need while on the move

  • Eliot Collins

Small store in the city centre. Convenient location, and reasonable rang of produce

  • Daniel Adams

Always worth walking the 5 mins to the larger cheaper Tesco round the corner

  • JOSH MEAD
