This Tescos Express in Bristol is handy for those who like me are in a hotel and everything is so expensive. Anytime I am in the area I now know for lunch to have their meal deals which is usually a good selection. I do think it is a bit on the cramped side and the staff are busy restocking with their big crates in an aisle that isn't big enough for the crate and paying customers. I usually will have either a sandwich or a wrap and my partner will go for the pasta options. I like that for the meal deal you also get a snack and a drink. There are lots of self-checkouts which are easier to use than the regular self-checkouts because you normally have to put things in a scales box for it to scream at you "unexpected item in the bagging area" whereas this one doesn't. There is a lot of security here including a security man and in front of every self-checkout it has a camera to deter those who are trying to steal. There are times when it feels like there are too many customers in the shop and it is almost like a one-way path because people tend to push and shove. Frustrating but that's one of the advantages of having a miniature version of a well-known chain supermarket. Also, side note it costs 30 pence for a bag now? Goodness!

Has to be the worst Tesco branch out there! I don’t think I have ever once been there and not found an empty space where the item I’m looking for should be (and I’m not looking for squid ink or caviar, we’re talking a tin of beans or self raising flour). The staff are constantly chatting to each other (which I wouldn’t mind if the work was being done and they weren’t completely blocking the aisles all the time), and I’ve never not had to physically go get someone to serve on the till or fix an issue with the self service. I live locally and usually have to walk twice the distance to get the simplest and most commonplace of items!! I don’t expect much from a small local branch, it’s clean, that’s about the only good thing I can say about it!

I was in many Tescos in Bristol but this one is definitely the worst one ever. I'm living 1 minute from the shop and it's 50/50 chance that I will have good or bad experience. Old fruits, broken food, missing bread on shelfs, TERRIBLE smell from the fridge with milk, a lot times broken fridge with deep frozen food, a lot times problems with machines with self-service. Sometimes security guy can be super nice and friendly and some other can be super rude. Stuff there is never helpful and most of time I saw that there were more focus on chatting with each other instead of helping customers. Terrible. Just terrible.

Horrible store- I just bought a carton of orange juice, got it home only to find it was already open and missing about 1/4 of the juice- someone had already drunk from it?! Repulsive. Also, I've been in store when children (I believe kids of the staff, or at least, they were holding hands with the staff and appeared to be known to them) were hurling cans off the shelf onto the floor, hard, as well as running round screaming. I only go here if I absolutely have to.

One short woman with short brown haor constantly shouting at lunchtime and after school times at the school kids. Telling them to keep their noise down. I live above the tesco so its my local shop. The deliveries are a joke. They bang the trolleys off and on the lorry. All times of day. They stand outside smoking which then comes up into my windows. They are so loud and inconsiderate to the residents in the building. They barely have anything you actually want

This is a convenient Tesco when walking in the harbourside area. It gets very busy at lunchtime and can feel a bit chaotic. It does, of course, have all the essentials of life, like sandwiches and beer, as well as general groceries. It is opposite Pizza Express on Millennium Parade on the route to/from Millennium Square. There is a free cashpoint by the entrance.

Security guard thinks the law doesn't apply to him. More than three times he has intruded on my personal space. Just because somebody wears a uniform doesn't give them the right to impose themselves; a two metre rule is a two metre rule and this is enforced by police due to specific changes to our law. Otherwise a useful little Tesco .

  • Steve Wood

Generally okay. Typically more expensive than larger supermarkets, but convenient for people working in Harbourside who use it particularly at lunchtime. Sandwich selection, given how much it is used at lunchtime is often poor and sometimes like today many shelves are almost empty

Rude staff, especially in the mornings who see customers as a menace.Recently inexplicably changed opening hours which inconvenienced myself and many of my work colleagues. The staff prefer to gossip and moan in front of customers. A horrible shop.

  • Ben Lewis

Convenient for work but terrible customer service. Probably the worst customer service I've experience in ages. The assistants always talk to each other and never the customer. Never been offered a receipt and can barely begrudge a smile.

  • Dan Turp

Possibly the worst Tesco's I've been to, and I've been to the one near big Ben. I beg you to turn the women down that shouts at people between 1-2, I can see that there is a spare till by the window, stop damaging my ears.

  • Tim Robins

Good for a quick sandwich meal deal lunch that doesn't cost the earth on your day out in Bristol. Save money for the dinner! Staff were smiling and helpful and a good choice available.

  • James Gullis

Nice little store, basic stuff. Don't have much room inside and for some reason there are separate paying machines for card and cash? Not sure if that's normal

  • Mike Hayers

I needed lemon juice for the party. They had lemons, lemon juice, lemon squash and lemonade. Really went over and above what I needed. So happy …

  • Tim woods

This place needs a deep clean. Looks like it flooded and then they just left it. Not sure what's happened, as it was OK in here a few months ago.

  • Andrew Smith-Beaman

The woman at lunch time shouting "card only by the window" is really starting to grate on me...... Have seen Rentokil outside a few times :s

  • sam matthews

Security guard accused me of stealing, when asked for evidence he refused to provide, made me look a fool in front of everyone in shop !

  • Ben

Staff more interested in chatting than helping customers. Self service tills often not working. I try to avoid this place if possible.

  • Sami Pearce

I bought the meal deal with prawn sandwich and they filled only the front with the rest empty, that's treacherous behaviour.

  • Marketing Solutions

It's very small, however you can find almost anything you need. Very close to Travelodge Bristol Central which is a plus.

  • BigData Appstrain

Easy to shop , you have to figure follow CONVID-19 social distancing rules around the shop. Sanitizer available to use.

  • Maria Gkovedarou

A typical Tesco express that covers almost all the harbour side blocks! Thankfully it has big variety

  • Jake Mead

Well stocked reasonably priced tesco. Only issue is that it gets rather busy at peak times.

  • Mark D

Appalling customer service.very unprofesional.have never experienced a store like it !!!

  • Nicholas Oliver

Often messy and out of stock after busy surges. Has the essentials however.

  • Shaun Kavanagh

Closed early, and was mocked by staff leaving that they were closing early.

  • Jōb Milæ

Kentish security guard; over friendly : thinks everyone is his mate :/

  • Neil Lloyd
