From California, was visiting friends in Calgary in summer. Had a day to myself so took the CTrain downtown. This pedestrian zone was one of my coolest Calgary discoveries. What a great idea in an urban center. Very impressive. First time I've personally seen something like this. Very progressive idea. It works too. Lots of shops and restaurants. I bought some items myself. Stuff wasn't overpriced. In fact, I really like my "Calgary" t-shirt with the cowboy hat design for only $9.44 out the door. An elevated walkway over the Walk connects the CORE shopping centre which is also fun to browse. All visitors need to check out the Stephen Avenue Walk. Easy CTrain access.
It was a nice walk through downtown. Several blocks are blocked off from cars except for at crossroads so it made it safe for walking and easy to cross the street to get to different shops. A lot of restaurants and shops to go in. The streets were lined with flowers which was nice and they were clean. A few homeless people here and there but not too many and none of them bothered me or asked for money. I felt perfectly safe walking alone.

Beautiful walking street full of restaurants, stores, lights, art and music. Enjoyable in all seasons. You can access the plus 15 system interconnecting the beautiful Calgary downtown buildings. The pics are showing the Trees Sculpture from the bridge connecting the Bankers Hall and the Core Shopping Centre. Plus 15 is open until 9 pm.

Stephen Avenue is now hosting Chinook blast the winter festival of art installation and lighting. It’s wonderful for a walk in the evening starting from 3rd street. You can even go out for a quick snack and drinks as it is lined with several wonderful pubs. I have personally tried out James Joyce, Social, local and Met which are all really good ones around here.
It is a bustling pedestrian street adorned with numerous iconic skyscrapers lining both sides in downtown Calgary. This street is home to a plethora of upscale restaurants and boasts a charming garden-style shopping center. It is a must-visit destination for tourists and ranks among the most renowned pedestrian streets in Calgary.

Fantastic boulevard to walk along during the day or night time enjoying some of the beautiful sculptures on the street. You can stop to have a drink or eat in any of the many restaurants or pubs in the area with a huge variety of cuisines or shopping in the beautiful stores around. More
Calgary downtown is a beautiful venue for us, photographers, especially Stephen Avenue Walk. You can have street life, art and history in one frame. Here is a few samples from my ballerina shoot from 2020. Locations: Hudson's Bay, Teatro Restaurant and the mid part of Stephen Avenue.

I’m sure the street is normally very lively but when we went there around mid-July it was desert and most restaurants were closed. I ate a McDonald’s ice cream cone and we took pictures with the giant trans pride flag and the giant universal pride flag on the floor. Fun times!
Wow!! What a great place to walk thru, eat, have fun, party if you want, dance in the street, check out the Art sculptures and have a great time. This reminded me of Bourbon Street in New Orleans with a lot less drunk people. It was a great place in Calgary to explore.
Excellent spot to sit under an umbrella on a hot day and have a nice drink. A spot to meet all types of people. music, styles, entertainment and even zombie people.

8 ave in Calgary is a great place to walk around downtown. Flowers were blooming when we walked around here and ate at one of the restaurants. Drinks were a lot cheaper as well and it has really old buildings that are great to look at. Its nostalgic.
Excellent strip of boutique shops, restaurants and bars/pubs. Walkable with many people around. Many shaded patios. Live performances at times. Close proximity to transit and the core mall. Some homeless in the area.

A wonderful place to go for a walk to destress in the heart of the city. Plenty of restaurants and bars, as well add public art and shopping. Limited car access means there is lots pass space to roam for 5 blocks or more. Old architecture
Stephen Avenue Walk in Downtown Calgary is a photographer's paradise, especially for wedding shoots. Its urban setting and architectural wonders, combined with captivating lights and iconic sites, create a dynamic backdrop that elevates
Really beautiful indoor outdoor mall in the middle of the city. You could go there and find anything you'd like. On the fourth floor there's a very beautiful food court with excellent views out of the roof to the building surrounding
Was nice, food options we're pretty limited to bar & grills. A few vagrants around the area, so safer to stick to the street.

A beautiful tourist attraction in the heart of city. My favorite ealrs restaurant was there for dinner. Hours can be spent here without getting bored even for a minute. Battery powered scooters add extra fun.
A pedestrian only walkway lined with restaurants, bars, stores on either side. As a tourist, I appreciated this area, making it quite easy to find a restaurant of my choice.

We went there about 8:30 on a Saturday morning. Nothing open and lots of street people. Later on it got more lively. The turn-of-the-century architecture is worth the trip.

Love this street. There are many people enjoying the food of the various restaurants and cafes outdoors with a vibrant and lively environment.
I liked the food gallery up on 4th floor. Diverse meal selection but I went with the A&W coffee and a Buddy burger as I love the onions.
Nice street with a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. Nicely decorated with lights this time of year too!

Move all the homeless on and stop the scooters. Someone is going to get hurt. Otherwise a nice street to have a drink. More
A nice place to walk around, it has shopping mall around and good restaurants. Also surrounded with corporate centers.
I just moved to Calgary. It was my first time there....loved, so beautiful..can't wait to go there in summer time !
Love the architecture on this street, the liveliness, and overall vibes. It's also very clean and picturesque
I didn't experience this place at it's best/busiest (winter weekday) but I do like pedestrian-only areas.
