I am always on a quest to find the best (my own humble opinion) pastry shop in Montreal. After the closure of Patrice Patissier, I found Sachere Desserts and Chez Potiez to be one of the top in Montreal at the moment. I remember purchasing my first cake there- out of this world. The second time I ordered the same cake- it just felt like an old cake. Could be 1-2 days old maybe? I am assuming here because I don't know how long they keep their cake on display. Regardless, this doesn't stop me from coming back. This time, I am purchasing a lemon tart for a client and other pastries for myself. In hopes that it would be as memorial and decadent as the first time. UPDATE: I’ve now tried the pastries. DELICIOUS!!! Perfect texture, moist and not overly sweet. PS- Asians usually do not like overly sweet desserts. So this is a winner for me.

The first place i stopped by in Montreal after I parked my car and I met with Michael and his desserts and latte which are phenomenal. The thing i miss about montreal is places like these in the middle of the residential area and part of the culture and part of the vibe and that's nowhere to be found in canada but Quebec. Other cities we find a few convenience stores and an odd business but not a line of business, food places, cafes etc. I had a good talk with Sachere's owner and he was very kind to entertain me even while I reached the close end of the day. I will definitely recommend getting your indulgence fix from here. Edit:I saw a sachere cake somewhere else and googled it and it's a chocolate layer cake with jam filling...and Sachere's goodies are just that layered warm fillings and I am so glad to have it as the first thing i will eat in Montreal in that trip. :)
Excellent bakery! We purchased three ~4in mini cakes (matcha yuzu clementine; a take on a Black Forest with chocolate, cherries and mocha; and a lemon meringue tart) and and a pistachio ginger blondie to take home to Ottawa. I can’t recall the exact price but it was in the range of $38-48. The employee was helpful with selections and carefully packaged our desserts for the ride home. Much appreciated! Visually they were beautiful, and at dinner guests were impressed. Flavour wise the cakes were excellent. Not chock full of sugar/ overly sweet like some desserts. Well balanced in sweetness, tartness as well as texturally. A great find that we stumbled upon on the way to passé composé! Would recommend!
This is a truly wonderful local business. We must support our local businesses❤️ I ordered from them for delivery, and despite being further away than were they would normally deliver, they accepted my order - thank God! - and I was treated to the most delicious ice cream and carrot cake. I literally was in heaven. I can’t recommend them enough. The presentation was perfect and the taste out of this world!!!! It is so necessary to feel that you deserve the best and this was the best. I’m planning to order again but this time will make sure to pick up my order!!!! Thank you Sachère Desserts you made me very happy
Their vegan options are absolutely delicious! They offer cakes, brownies and icecream that are vegan! The vegan babka is great too just needs a bit more salt. The service is friendly. I ordered a cake from here too and it was great. The carrot cake is delicious: full of flavour and spices. The chocolate cake is moist, not too sweet and has the best icing I’ve ever had on it. You can sit in their store (it’s a little noisy from the fridges but absolutely acceptable). I love that you can see into the kitchen! I also noticed the owner was there working in the kitchen which made me love this store even more!
i got the yuzu, olive oil and white chocolate cake for my best friend , and it was the perfect match for someone who loves citrus! the cake was so so so delicious and light someone was also there to help me all along and was so patient with my questions overall 10/10 and i cannot wait to come back to try more cake flavours! (fyi: when i visited, the lights were really dim , so it might be hard to take pictures in there)

Amazing desserts! I have not seen more beautiful cakes in my life. The creativity in terms of presentation and inventive flavor combinations is beyond impressive. I recently had half a mini-torte with grapefruit and black sesame, which my partner purchased. I was skeptical, but that thing was hitting. They have a number of vegan offerings. My go to is the vegan brownie which is always so succulent. They also have vegan ice cream and I believe it’s a new flavor on offer each week. I don’t personally enjoy ice cream, but they certainly look fancy and appealing.
It was my first time visiting and clearly everything made here is done with care and quality. The person working took their time to help me decide since there were so many choices, and I ended up with the pear, apple and Chai cheesecake which was unreal - strong flavors that could have ended up a mess but they were so delicately balanced! The bottom crust was so good, too The vibe was lovely and the treats were delicious. I may even order a cake for my birthday since I was so impressed. Looking forward to going back!
My husband and I discovered this little bakery walking around our new place. We tried their honey Graham cake and their chocolate/hazelnut/passion fruit tart. Both were delicious and well balanced. At first I thought the honey Graham cake was a bit too sweet, but as it crumbles in your mouth it tastes divine!! And the chocolate one the combo is pretty standard but every element taste delicious. We'll definitely come back and my husband just demanded his birthday cake to come from Sachère.
Every time I order a cake, I ALWAYS order from Sachere. I don't think I've ever had a more delicious cake from anywhere else but here. I discovered this gem through a friend, and ever since, I've been ordering absolutely everything on their menu, for over a year. I recently moved across Montreal, but I still order from Sachere and will be for the rest of my life. You guys rock, keep on rocking <3. Thanks for making the pandemic a bit more bearable.
Delicious vegan blueberry donut and cheesecakes!! I tried their new vegan blueberry donut and it was amazing. The desert was so crunchy, light and fresh, and their cheesecake was also delicious. I recommend you try this before any other desert. My friends were just as delighted as I was. Also the staff is very friendly, guy at the cash was easy to talk to and kind. Will come back here to pick up a desert whenever I’m in the area :—)
We went out of our way to try this place but we were very disappointed. The 2 stars is for the appearance of the cakes, everything else was unfortunately very underwhelming. We got the matcha cake and the Chai pear cake. Matcha one was full of cream which felt heavy and not pleasing to eat. The crust on the Chai pear one was throwing the taste off. They were so expensive, each 9.50$, but worst part is they were really not worth it.
My first time in Montreal and the first dessert place I tried is Sachère. OMG Take my money coz I want to try everything here. We got Pistachio Cardamom mousse ☺ coming back for more soon. 100% recommend anyone who visit Montreal to come here. Update: we can back for another Pistachio mousse and tried the Hojicha Tiramisu cake ☺ so yummy I wish I could bring them back to Toronto
I passed by the cafe a few weeks ago for their vegan desserts. But unfortunately everything we ordered (carrot cake and a cinnamon roll) was dry and stale except for this lemon coconut dessert (which was alright overall). The chai latte was decent but that café latte was way too strong and bitter. The café itself felt a little cluttered and has pawn shop vibes (old cups and plates, wobbly tables, etc).
I had a black sesame, yuzu and sea buckthorn (argousier) tart. At 9.50$/piece, their pastries are expensive! However, one can indeed taste the quality in their ingredients. The sesame filling, the berry center and the yuzu cream all had distinct and real flavours. This pairing was creative and interesting. It was also not overly sweet like most desserts. Would try their other desserts.
Absolutely delicious, inventive and fun little bakery. Their rotating tartelette flavours make it an exciting place to revisit. They have scrumptious vegan options too, even pleasing the pickiest in my family. They’re even doing deliveries during the pandemic so it just makes sense to try their baked goods soon. Can’t wait to have their soft serve next summer
We ordered their carrot cake for our wedding and it was absolutely delicious. Everything you want in a carrot cake (the cake was super moist and the mascarpone frosting was decadent and light at the same time), and absolutely gorgeous for doing a ceremonial cake cutting photo. We’ve had their ice cream in past as well, everything we’ve tried has been flawless.
Super friendly owners who take their time to walk you through their selection of treats and goodies. Everything is delicious - including the cookies and chocolates (all made in house) on the wall shelves. Nothing was cloyingly sweet — perfectly balanced. A must visit if you are in the region.

We were celebrating a birthday while distancing so we did a zoom party. We had 7 mini cakes delivered to members of our family. The cakes were delivered exactly as was promised. The service was courteous and professional and the cakes were delicious! The entire group raved about them. We will definitely order cakes from Sachere Desserts again.
Cakes and tartelettes are fresh, of unique flavour combinations, and beautifully decorated. Cookies are tasteful without being too sweet. Vegan soft serve is also a pleasant mix of flavours. Staff is kind, helpful, and welcoming. Everyone to whom I’ve introduced this little shop has been blown away by their desserts and products. A must try!
They saved me from myself! I accidentally ordered for pick-up and not delivery. Realizing this on the day of the birthday celebration, I called them and they quickly delivered the cake! So professional and helpful. The red velvet cake looks amazing and the little carrot cake bars are spectacular! Thanks Sachère - you have a forever customer!
Ordered a Banana Passionfruit cake for my birthday and it was ready by the time I picked it up, no wait at all! It was undoubtedly one of the most scrumptious cakes I've ever tasted. When I picked up my cake, I also bought carrot cake truffles — wow! Will definitely be back for more cake as soon as I have a new occasion to celebrate.
This bakery hasn't blown up to become as popular as the biggest bakeries in Montreal yet but it should. The desserts and pastries are so yummy and innovative. There's a different weekly soft serve flavour available, and the flavour I tried included sorbet; I despise sorbet and this is the only time I've ever enjoyed having sorbet.
Wonderful sweet creations with beautifully combined flavours. One bite is enough to realize that they use high quality fresh ingredients. The designs are divine, close to perfect. The service is very caring and professional. The new desserts are just amazing, the passion fruit cheesecake is an absolute favourite.
L’une des meilleures pâtisseries à Montréal! On vient de la découvrir et on n’ira plus ailleurs. Gâteau Match chocolat blanc! Une vraie merveille pour fêter mes 60 ans!! Merci au pâtissier

It's the best carrot cake I've ever eatten! I have tried macha, carrot and red velvet. all cake was fantastic! and a piece of cheese cake, torte, carrot cake truffles are all awesome too. I will really miss this cake shop after I will go back to my country. this cake shop is the best in Montreal I think:)
This is one of the best place with deserts where I have ever been! I highly recommend to try lemon cake and cheesecake with black sesame! I have no words to describe the taste I have just lemon cake photo. For cheesecake I had no time to make a picture because of this taste

Exceptional! Tiny location but its full of great eats, unlike some other boutique pastry shops. The gelato was delicious and well presented. I also tried their individual pastries which were each more delicious than the other. Its expensive, but the right value for the money
Friendly service. I had an espresso (intense flavour, but a bit cold) and I try a scone, whit cheese and chives. They have around 10 or 15 different options , but for my point of view, they need more, and more temping ones. More chocolate , more caramel , more cheesecake!!!
The owner is very polite and friendly. The bakery is cute and cozy. The vegan cakes taste delicious. It was my first time there because I read great reviews, and it definitely did not disappoint. I would highly recommend this bakery and I'm looking forward to going back!
Delicious pastries and friendly staff. Offering in the pricier side but incredibly delicious and a wonderful occasional treat. I got the citrus cake for 9$ and it was the most delicious and flavorful cake I’ve had in a while. Would love to try more from this bakery!
Fantastic tasting and beautiful desserts. I am also blown away by the assortment of vegan baked goods. Without having been told they are vegan I probably wouldn't have suspected based on taste. The ice cream is also incredible. I'll definitely be back for a cake!
Oh my god this place! Just so amazing. They know what they are making. Literally one of the best cheese cake I have ever tried. Perfect sweetness and no flavours were overlapping with one another . Bang on, a perfect spot if you are craving for something sweet.
Their vegan chocolate brownie is to die for. Highly recommended, all thr pastries and ice cream I tried it there are are absolutely fantastic.

O.M.G. This has got to be the best dessert shop in Montreal. Just at first glance at the cakes/mini cakes you can tell the amount of love and effort has gone into these beautiful works of art. Nothing is overly sweat, and everything is oh
Fantastic confections. Their little cakes are inventive, delightful combination of tastes and simply delicious! Would definitely recommend to seek out this place which is in a residential area but close to the popular tourist strip.
I've ordered several cakes (and other sweet treats) from Sachère and I'm always amazed by the quality of their products, you can see they are making them with LOVE! Go online now and judge by yourself, you won't be disappointed!
The desserts are 10/10. However, the guy who served us had a huge attitude and isn’t friendly at all. He almost kicked us out and made us feel very uncomfortable eating there even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing.
My favorite dessert place in the whole city. The flavors are great and the cakes are beautiful. We've tried the store a couple of times, and we've tried the delivery service and it's been great. Highly recommended.
This place rocks. Period. Delectable. Refreshing. Original. Creative. The owners are so sweet. Reading some comments below, in particular Zina’s. I feel there’s holes missing in your story. Takes 2 to tango.
We ordered one of their special Christmas log cakes and it was the best cake we have ever had! The staff was also very organized and the pick up process was very smooth. We are customers for life!
Amazing cakes and friendly staff. Their cakes are unique in flavor and have excellent balance of scents and tastes. We randomly found this place on googlemap and absolutely enjoyed the cakes!!!
I’ve tried to eat here many times and never had success. It was worth the wait! The ice cream was absolutely delicious. The service as fantastic and I even brought some treats home with me.
I ordered medovik here. I am ukrainian and its common cake in my country so I tried tons of it before. But this one is the best for sure. It made my brain drown in dopamine. so so good
A quaint little bakery. Excellent vegan food and drinks with a very nice service. Home-made ice teas are a bonus. I tried the banana chocolate cake and it was a very good suggestion.
Great place for pastry..cakes... coffee ... Also you could seat and eat inside. Good options for vegetarian dessert I brought the Gâteau monté Sacher Torte... it was delicious!!!!
I really like the design of the cake and I think the design is worth the price. I like most of the ingredients of the cream except the spice in it which I think is overemphasized.
Desserts here are simply amazing! I can never get enough: the little jars, the cakes, the scones, aaah! On top of that, the staff is always friendly and welcoming :) A must!
For the first time I tried some of the desserts. Everything is delicious and so fresh. Loved the carrot cake, the tiramisu and the cranberry cake, have to go for more...
Definitely one of Montreal's best dessert option. I can say without any reservation that if you choose Sachere desserts for any occasion you will be more than happy.
I’ve only tried their iced cream but the flavours are delicious and so unique! A great vegan gem in the city. Definitely worth trying out. Staff is really nice too.
In my opinion, the best in montreal , always welcoming and working hard to offer us high end products , I recommend you to try it if you haven’t ! It’s to die for !
It’s been a few years since we’ve been coming here. The best!!! Love that they always come out with different flavors everyday. Everything is so fresh and unique.
Truly the best cakes in Montreal! Innovative flavours which are beautifully designed and with the absolute perfect balance of sugar which is not overly sweet !
Cakes and desserts are creative and delicious! Staff is so friendly, lighting is Instagram worthy! Everything about this place is amazing! A definite must try!
Amazing quality of desserts. Bakery items were decent too. Ice cream is delicious and is of natural ingredients. Cappuccino wasn’t bitter either. Well done!
The first few ice creams of the season were good, but the past 3-4 have been extremely sweet. Would love for them to go back to their initial sugar levels!
You can really taste the love and care that go into whatever comes out of this place! Everything is delicious, I’m salivating writing this review …
Pâtisserie validée des goûts alliant originalité et qualité ! Options véganes et sans gluten possibles et les crèmes glacées sont à tomber. …
No line for the ice cream. It was very refreshing especially during a hot day. Love that its dairy-free and vegan. 100% would recommend going there!
Meilleure pâtisserie à Montréal !!! Ça vaut le détour...des saveurs surprenantes, pas trop sucrées, délicates. Juste miom et wowww à chaque fois.
This desert place takes ingredients that are hardly a match and yet makes the absolute most delicious recipes. Try the blondie it is to die for.
A hidden gem of the village! This is a great spot to grab a slice of cake and enjoy a cup of third wave coffee. Great vegan options as well.
Absolutely delicious. Had a vanilla lavender cream tart, and it was so tasty and skillfully created. I would go back in an instant.
What?? Too good! I’d sell my soul for their cake, to be honest. Drinks are good too. And their Easter egg?? The macarons? Bonkers.
Great desserts, amazing service! Will be coming back in the near future for sure. Ps. Ask for the Babka you will fall in love.
Absolutely stunning pastries. Not too sweet and you could really taste the quality of ingredients. Service was friendly too
Everything this place makes is gold. High level of detail and care. The place is tiny but so pretty with a calm vibe
Delicious and beautiful pastries and cakes. The packaging is very nice and makes for great presentation. Superb!
Had the weekly soft serve ice cream, pistachio cake and a latte. Wow. All were sooo good. Will be back
Yummy cakes and some original flavors as well (loved black sesame) Prompt delivery Highly recommend
Omg such an underrated place!!! Reminds me of Lysee in nyc but like wayyyy more reasonable prices
Without a doubt one of the best cakes I've ever had. I wish we had a place this good in Edmonton.
I tried both vegan desserts that appealed 2 me and coffee with oat... it was delicious …
Top quality desserts - I tried citrus lemon dessert which was 10/10 Must try if you are in area
Good desserts, nothing extraordinary. OK coffee. Cute little cafe. Not much seating available.
They have this raspberry thing that is incredible. A little expensive but totally worth it
smelled so good when i walked in!! i wanted to try everything. would definitely go back❤️
Everything of their cakes and bread looks beautiful. And of course the taste was amazing!
Carefully created, delicious cakes - our family really enjoyed this shop and its service.
Delicious! I had what would essentially be a really really good McDonald’s apple pie.
Looking for a last minute cake. And we got the best place and the best cake.Amazing!!!
My friends got me the chocolate and raspberry cake for my birthday. Best cake ever.
Favorite place for ice cream or a treat. Also for cakes and holiday desserts.
