i love this place to bits, the food is the best there is, but i cant help always feeling like theyre a little bit... like i am looked down upon or like they feel i dont belong here? ive been here many times, but on several occassions, i have been served after someone else even though i had been waiting first. like, the person behind me had to say "oh no you should serve her first, she was here before me". or like other people getting their food and drinks before me even though i had ordered first! i understand if i order a sandwich and drink it takes longer but i mean i am seeing people who had ordered the same things after me get their food first. and also, i do definitely speak french when i order! i am just writing this in english because its easier for me. it just doesnt feel like i am being served with the same warmth that other patrons seem to get. like i'm sorry i dont present well or whatever, but i can still afford to buy the food you know. anyway, i will still keep coming, i dont think anyones doing anything on purpose, but its still one of those micro things that like, as a person of color i feel hyperaware of and im just asking the servers to be a bit aware of it too. other than that its still a great place and the pastries and bread - best in montreal surely

Very unpleasant experience with a bald guy who wears glasses (he was at a coffee station) on March 27th around 11am. We came to Arhoma to buy a couple of sandwiches and chocolates and, while we were waiting for our order - way farther than two meters from the counter with no people around us and no line - the bold guy with a poor attitude asked us to move farther and hang with all the customers waiting for their orders. He was VERY unprofessional and rude and I told him about it - he didn’t care. Needless to say he didn’t apologize. We had to wait with four other customers being so close to them which is now against the rules and he literally had put us in danger. I will also be filing an official complaint at the government level as this person needs to be trained and supervised. An apology would also be nice to get. Before that, I’m not coming back not recommending going there - you’re not safe at Arhoma!
It is hard not to give 5 stars to a business that tries to do what others don't. I woke up this Sunday morning and I wanted to surprise my wife and daughter with fresh croissants. Within a 20km radius, this was the only bakery that opened at 6am. Well done! However, my disappointment arose when I arrived and only found a couple of products available. Guys, you are doing the hard part by going where no other business wants to. So, make sure all your products are available at the beginning of the day; otherwise, your hard and superb work will be in vain.
One of the few places open on a holiday and they had delicious light fare for my first visit. One side is a fromagerie and traiteur, and the other is a bakery café with terrasse seating. The café featured lunches like quiche, sandwiches, salads, and cheese plates. I chose the Apple Grilled Cheese toasted. The spread of sweets were tempting, especially as I saw skillfully crafted viennoiserie and patisserie desserts including vegan alternatives. I'll be back to try the croissant aux pistache and their espresso next time.
This is one of my favorite place. I've been introduced here by friends a few years ago and I just keep coming back since then. Pastries are really good and the price is just right for the size and quality. They have the best croissants in Montréal, hands down. And their mini-cakes are awesome. They also have a good variety of cheeses, breads, charcuteries and local products like teab coffee mapple syrup, all kind of jams, and so on. TLDR: Awesome place. Just go there.
Delicious bakery and pastries, wide selection. HOWEVER recently the service is horrible. Slow, inattentive and unfriendly! The servers/cashiers have messed up my simple orders a few times now. What's going on? I have been going to Ahroma for the past 4 years and it wasn't like this. It changes the whole tone.... I used to go out of this store with a big smile on my face and now I leave feeling extremely annoyed. And sometimes don't even bother going.
This is a good bakery serving good bread. While they are known for their bread, it is good to know they sell more than that (cheese, coffee and premade meals). Whenever I'm in the area and need a witch snack that is not too big, I go there. They have a good variety of sandwiches and there is a couple of them that are vegetarians. The staff working there is always really nice. I would recommend their bread but also to try their sandwiches.
Love, love, love this bakery. We visited Montreal and discovered Arhoma near our AirBnB. Their most basic white bread was the best we've ever tasted and we tried a selection of savoury and sweet items. The quiche was wonderful, the cookies and cakes thoroughly enjoyed. But most of all, the staff were friendly, interested in us as visitors and made us feel very welcome. Go there! You won't be disappointed!
Good options of sandwich and salads. The cheese store right besides has amazing variety also. The coffee was good and the sandwich tasty. But the chcolatine aux pistaches! That was awesome! One of the best in town! I just started eating and completely forgot to take a picture. The square in front is really nice to seat down and enjoy a good meal from Arhoma :)
Pastries were to die for but it was a bit overwhelming with the speaking of French. I know it's Montreal but we're also in Canada.. and English is the known language for Canadians. There could be some people that spoke English. But it's fine, we got our order took a bit but we had the chocolate pastry and pistachio crossiant both were really good.
We happened upon this trendy place in an 'up and coming' area of Montreal. We love it. Now we go there every time we go to montreal. Our favourite thing is the chocolate, raspberry loaf of bread. We have had multiple products from there and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful in both official languages! Love it!!
Absolutely delicious place. I enjoy going on the weekends to get a coffee and a cheese croissant, which comes in at under 6$. The croissant is buttery, cheesy and delectable. The staff is quick, efficient and polite. There is always lively conversation and banter between them and their regulars. Definitely check it out if you are around.
One of the finest pearls of MTL Bread Viennoiseries Lunch Treats Pastries Coffee All their products come with their authentic touch With so many other refined products from a wide selection of other little producers you'll find at their locations All will find something that fits their tastes and craves! Arhoma never disappoints!!♡
I haven't drunk coffee but LOVED their croissants and sandwiches. They take great care of their customers and service is really nice. A very nice and unique place with special products (great smoothies in bootles and others condiments). Eating on their terrasse/the place Valois under the sunshine is just a great start of the day!
Great service. High quality and great standard for their sandwiches, cheese and pastries. The place is inviting with a warm atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone passing in this part of town. Prices are a little more than the regular place, but it's worth it for the great food. The filter coffee was just okay!
Lovely bakery/local food market. The breads are fresh and the pastries tasty. There's a cheese stand in the entrance, the boulangerie at the back with the pastries next to it. They make hot and cold drinks and have a slew of local products all over the shop. Lovely people and you can bring reusable bags for bread/pastries!
My neighborhood bakery, cheese monger, and cafe. I love having Arhoma nearby

A really nice neighborhood bakery. We went to get bread for a BBQ and it was so good, really fresh and hot to the touch. Everything else looked so good also and it smells great inside. It is a little pricey though for certain items, but a nice place for a little treat on a special occasion or to get your fresh bread.
A most in the HoMa neighborhood, with premium quality sausage, BBQ sauces, pastries, and coffee products. Even though it's always pretty crowded, the staff is able to offer a good service to everyone. Given its fresh products made in store, it's a little more expensive, but completely worth it.
An amazing place. Great place to get a boule or a baguette, fresh. For vegans, their vegan croissants and chocolatines are superb. Also the sandwich végépâté is great. A great selection of cheeses too, if that’s your thing. And I didn’t even mention the beautiful confections and other treats.
Unnecessarily expensive, unfriendly service. Can't see what all the fuss is about. Simply disappointing. The problem is they are overtly relaxed about their clientele. They know that people are waiting in line to enter, so they don't care about customer satisfaction. You are just anyone...
Love the cookies, cheese selection, & iced maple latte. Better than the other Arhoma I've been to. Staff are very friendly. Usually busy but rarely overcrowded / typically no problem getting a seat which is surprising as it is quite small. A favorite spot for a casual coffee or small bite.
Stopped in hoping to find a particular sandwich, but they did not have it. We opted for something else and we’re happy with the food and service. PLEASE NOTE: there is street construction going on and you cannot properly get to them using GPS. You will need to park on the street and walk.
I absolutely love this place. Anyone who comes to visit the neighborhood must pass by. For a delicious croissant or to buy some amazing local cheese and duck liver, or maybe some coffee outside with a kind of a fresh delicious pastry. Definitely a treasure in the heart of Hochelaga.
Great! But expensive. Last time I was there I recieved day old bread at full price- He grabbed a loaf that was hidden under loafs that were not even the bread I asked for, a bit sneeky and dodgey. I will be back but will be on my A game when I return to purchaae bread.
I spend more money than I should there, the staff is always friendly, there is a lot of choice and some vegan things too! The coffee is good and so are the sandwiches, the pasteries and bread are always fresh and their is too many different cheese to chose from!
The bread and pastries are excellent! I personally have a soft spot for their ginger cookies. They are the perfect mix between crunchy and chewy. If you rather the healthy side, it is the best whole wheat bread I have tried second only to my grandma's.
Great food but rude service from one older stocky male staff member who gave us the wrong coffees and then got angry at us for misunderstanding when he handed them to us. His tone was very curt, rude, and unprofessional. Service needs to be improved.
This is not your regular pastry shop with all the usual cakes and viennoisries and breads. This is a whole new level. You really have to try it to know what I'm talking about. Take it from a sweet tooth with five years experience in a pastry shop.
This place is a hidden gem in Hochelaga. AMAZING baked goods, breads, cheese, and other little items. Shown: pistachio-chocolate croissant (delish - the BEST croissant I’ve ever had). Service could be a little friendlier (a smile would be nice).
Very nice place to get baguettes, breads and the famous blue cheese croissants OMG! A little pricy however $$ and the coffee needs work. I was served burnt coffee at least twice so thats why I took a star away. Other than that it's great! :)
This place was great - we were visiting the city and just stopped in for a coffee, but if we lived anywhere near Homa we would be in here a lot. Great coffee and pastries, fresh salads, sandwiches, bread and cheese - what more do you need?
Great little neighbourhood cafe . Cosy and warm. The staff are polite and friendly. They have a great variety of breads, croissants, pastries, tarts and sandwiches. Definitely recommend this cafe for a quick bite and some great coffee
A lot of products, excellent bread and pastries, the price of the delivery and the minimum amount is high unfortunately. I feel there is a lack of beverages like tea lattes and cold beverages. I definitely recommend you to try it.
If you do not speak French the old lady with the nose ring at the cashier will get really mad at you and will give you a lecture that you have to learn French!

Excellent oat milk lattes. Although it's an unpopular opinion I still think their baguette is better than all the other top-rated bakeries that folks usually recommend. And.their vegan croissants and chocolatines are to die for.
Absolutely delicious! Although there's often confusion about the lineups.. is it one lineup for everyone? Or separate lineups for cheese, bread sandwiches, etc.. some clearer indication would definitely avoid some frustration :)
Good place on a sunny day. For espresso I recommend canard or helico. My sandwich (I always get the poulet cajou - chicken cashew) even came w a cute little salad this time (mesclun greens w balsamic and some shaved cheese).
Got a curry chicken sandwich and found it to be bland. Also got a vegetarian pizza slice and it was really oily. The pastries were tasty - croissant was flakey and buttery and raspberry danish wasn’t overly sweet.
Fancy pants coffee and pastries seems like not something you'd find in this part of the city, but Arhoma delivers. Definitely a place for take away- it is NOT a place where you would sit with your laptop all day.
overpriced even the bread that is a day old at a reduced price is expensive. The food including pastries are bland, under cooked. Wait time for a coffee is very long. The coffee is good though. At least
Exquisite baked goods and patisserie. The best in the neighbourhood and among the best in the city. You can also lounge in the seating area for coffee and a bite to eat. Great people watching too.
Cute boulangerie&charcuterie&fromagerie & local deli products in the heart of the neighborhood. Coffee is good as well ! Staff is helpful and the variety of products will not disappoint you :)
Nice and cozy coffee shop/deli. The coffee here is exquisite and on the softer less acidic side. The place also serves various pastries, cheeses and deli items such as sandwiches and soups.
You come for the bread and pastries (chocolatine aux pistaches, blue cheese croissants and croissants ...*foodgasm*) but you stay for their insanely good coffees ! Definitely coming back !
I have bought bread in this store for 8 years, and today I encountered very poor service. The gentleman who makes coffee has very poor service, and I will never come to this store again.
the most wholesome shop ever, the staff are friendly and understanding, the terrace is always clean, and they have tasty varieties of bread and pastry, and the coffe is good as well.
I have been coming here since they opened and I cant wait for summer to arrive to I can relaxe outside in the Place Valois with an Americano a croissant and a gane of Hearthstone.
I can find here some stuff that I cannot find elsewhere, like the famous cannelé bordelais. Croissants and other stuff very good too, not the best in town but still very good.
Quality of food and coffee is very, very high. They sell a lot of other locally produced bottled beverages as well. Seating is very limited but turnover is also very quick.
Freshly baked in the morning and variety of the pastries to choose. My favourites are the cheese bread (looks like a little triangle) and pistachio croissant! …
Delicious products - everything they sell is fabulous. Service is slow and careless. Staff just ignore you. Premier Moisson is a better value for price and service.
It's a chain, OK, but everything in it is very good quality. From there cheese to there selection of spice. A must go when it's time to cook for you with style.
I absolutely loved this place! Plus it’s local to me, it shows they put quality and love in their dishes and pastries . A must if you’re in the area. …
Excellent service, an impressive selection of local goods, their spiced latte is amazing, everyone is friendly and talkative. Overall amazing experience.
Cheese, cakes, sandwiches .... You will want to try everything. In winter, there is hardly any seats inside so I wouldn't recommend for young children.
Try one of everything! My personal favorites are the olive fougasse and the croissants. Best bakery in montreal...maybe the entire east coast.
That place is just too great, awesome breads, Cheeses, Oils, Pastries and local products (exotic spices, jams, chocolates) 100% recommend !!
Their artisan breads are phenominal. It is the best place for fresh breads in Montreal that I know of. Really good selection of cheeses too.
I like this place but the taste of their coffee isn't my favorite, but that is my personal opinion of course. It's a bit too expensive.
Such a cozy place. They have delicious sandwiches and lots of bakery options. Try pistachio chocolate croissant it’s beyond delicious
Had delicious duck baguette sandwich on a lazy Sunday. The place is busy and lively, be sure to visit a little off of peak hours.
I had a little cheese and apple sandwich that was amazing! And these blueberry tarts were truly some of the best I’ve ever had!
The staff accommodating, good coffee and food, there's just one "negative" comment; it could be quite cold inside sometimes :/
One of the best businesses in Hochelaga! Great cheese, bread, bakeries, meals to go, coffee, tables on site for consumption.
Want bread? Good bread? And maybe some cheese too? You stop there. No other choices. Arhoma makes delicious.... Everything
Amazing little place ! amazing selection of cheese ! breard! desserts ! coffee !! every little delicacy you would want :3
Best berries Danish I've eaten. Fresh pastry, generous filling and juicy fruits. Excellent value and marvelous products.
This place is very reasonable and efficient and has been my go to place as coffee is good and deserts are always good.
Delicious sandwiches, pastries, and bread. They have a great selection of local products as well, well worth the trek.
Got there just after 7am. Super nice place. Nothing better than eating fresh croissants and pain au chocolat!! …
Hooked on their pastries. often have them for breakfast. Nice vibe, tho a tad on the busy side, means stuff is fresh.
Sooo delicious! Was difficult to choose what I want because everything looks amazing! I need to come back for sure!
The best bakery I have visited in Canada so far Highly recommended I know my sweets and coffee Very friendly staff
Great croissants and other pastries. Large cheese selection. Sandwiches looked good but have not (yet) tried them.
I had a chocolate croissant and the salmon burger with a coffee and everything was amazing. 10/10 service too
They always give me the smallest pastry. It’s like to save the big ones for themselves. It’s very annoying !
Such great bread. All of the loafs are excellent. The pistachio almond croissant is my absolute favourite.
it’s good but nothing to be super amazed about! really fantastic selection of stuff tho and quick service
Great coffee, tasty treats, super friendly staff, and a great terasse/place to chill out on a sunny day.
Everything is good except their ice cream. Ouf. Please sell Les Givrés like you use to. Keep on baking!
Fantastic bread, every time. Very friendly place to grab a coffee or sandwich and sit on the terrace.
Good bread related products with a large cheese selection. Sometimes there can be long waiting lines.
Love their lunches, can't go wrong with very delicious soup + sandwiches. Great olive bread as well.
No review will tell you how goood their bread, grilled cheese, cake and cheese are. Go there ASAP :)
Only tried their baked goods here, never been disappointed. Their maple croissant is exceptional.
A little ritzy for my usual taste but it was good! Might go back to get dessert as a surprise :3
Excellent sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. We had a great time having lunch at this cozy place.
Very good bakery!! Fresh made bread every day. Everything there is from local Quebec suppliers.
Amazing food. Good little place. Only thing is they charge you for a to go cup for coffee ....?
Love their vegan croissants, vegan chocolate croissants and vegan blueberry custard pastries!
Everything they sell is beautiful quality, most of it regional, and the service is great.
Bread to die for. Excellent selection of québécois ingredients and inventive sandwiches.
Excellent food here! The people working here are cool and will give you good advices.
The Joe Couture cake, a refined version combining the May West & Joe Louis is a must!
Great service and great pastries and bread!! Their blue cheese croissant is amazing!
Quick service and good quality drinks and pastries. I’m definitely going back there.
The vegan options never fail to impress. Always a must for when I come visit MTL !!
Everything there is just fresh and tastes amazing! Plus the staff is super friendly
I love this place. Bread is really good, such as croissants and viennoiseries
