Food was good and the blond waitress was friendly, however the brunette at the till was so rude. I had yet to pay my bill and was asking about the cakes and biscuits as I wanted to get some. She kept repeating how much I owed for my meal as if I was going to make a runner for a pathetic ~20£ she was so dismissive wouldn't even finish answering my questions. Not only that she jumped to the lady behind me while I was still asking questions. Clearly in her opinion that lady was a more valuable customer with her bag of bagels!! To top it up there was a second girl at the till doing nothing who could have served her. Maybe I wasn't white enough for her?! I used to get biscuits and cakes from there before lockdown happened, because of her rude behaviour I deliberately didn't get anything else. I will not be going back there
Quite the most revolting place I have ever set foot. We ordered a salad and a burger and when the salad was brought to the table, either the waitress dropped it or the china bowl cracked, and the contents plus smashed china fell onto the table and smashed to a 1000 pieces, all over my lap, my shoes, the floor and the table. It was swept up and a replacement given after about 15 minutes. My burger was supposed to have a fried egg, and when I queried there was no egg, I was told the kitchens are in a muddle today. The burger was a piece of hard old meat quite inedible. And they had the cheek to charge 12.49% services charge. Avoid like the plague its rubbish.
I felt being intentionally ignored by the one of the staff at Roni's Bakery, not sure if it's because I'm Asian or I'm female. The first time I went there, she seemed to be reluctant to serve me, but she was very attentive and nice to several British men next to me. I felt not good and very confused. The second time, I went there for a cup of coffee. It was the same staff serving me behind the counter. She was impatient and she barely looked at me. My friend, who's also Asian, had similar experience at this place. She went there with an English lady, and she believed they were treated differently. I will NEVER go to this place again.
Friendly service and helpful staff. Stopped by for a quick bite and a warm drink to accompany a brisk walk. It's unlikely you'll be disappointed. The place was buzzing with activity and patrons we're enjoying their breakfast. The bagel that I ordered was tasty — toasted with cream cheese. The faux pas was using a cold premade bagel from the display case to fulfill the order. Toasting it merely burnt the outside of the bagel without heating the interior. Given this is also a bakery, I would have appreciated a fresh toasted bagel with cream cheese added thereafter. Small yet consequential details detracting from a higher rating.
I bought challah bread and ginger cookie today. When I order ginger cookie, one staff didn’t understand my word, and I repeated “one ginger cookie, please” politely. But she looked at me rudely and she just reached her arm holding cookie to my friend, so my friend had to aproach to her and received the cookie. We were embarrassed. The challa bread was normal, but it isn’t worthy. The ginger cookie is just ginger and flour taste. I will never visit again.

STAY AWAY - Worst experience - Incompetent and rude staff with no decorum, negligent Manager. I was locked in the bathroom and a customer had to free me(!). Trying to unlock the door compromised the surgery I had on my hands the day before (bad timing or what). The staff who were without apology said "oh yeah, it's broken, we should probably have put a note on the door." Then the Manager Mohammed, could not care a less. He offered no apology and instead tried to tell us the lock was fine. Hideous place. Many customers consoled us and agreed that Roni, Hampstead is dreadful. An embarrassment to the area.
Surprised by the lack of sympathy of the 2 blondes who work in this place , you need to teach your staff to be genuinely friendly , or to change staff urgently . Arrogance is not acceptable to a person that is a regular costumer and knows that Ronis used to be one of the best deli places to eat in the area . After paying a bill of 40 pounds just for a couple of items it’s not acceptable to don’t receive even a smile I just left a review because was not the first time so I think you really should do pass my message to management . The food was delicious but overpriced considering the service.
this place used to do a good range of pastries it is supposedly a bakery but now has very limited selection . Besides that the two servers were the rudest waiting staff ever !! First the girl walked off to take a phone call while I was asking her something without so much as an ' excuse me '. Then a young chap approached he's a tall but stocky swarthy looking guy . His attitude was stinking he was so obnoxious like he has no interest whatsoever in serving customers . A few doors up is new Planet Organic where they do cakes pastries coffees etc and they DO know about customer service !
My daughter has recently been involved in a freak blender accident that has led her to be bed bound and uncommunicative for months. In a last ditch effort I resolved to take her to Roni's Baker in Hampstead, the moment a drop of that vanilla iced oat latte touched her lips she discarded every bandage and cast she had on and smiled for the first time in 7 weeks! This was quickly followed by cries of joy over her granola bowl due to the perfect pairing of honey and yogurt. Thank you Roni's for saving my child from a lifetime of misery and seclusion
Had excellent experience. Went with a couple of clients to grab a quick brunch. Food was delicious and of a high standard, came within 10/15 mins of ordering. Staff were very friendly and efficient and constantly came to check we were happy. Can highly recommend the Ronis breakfast and the Shakshuka and my partner had the burger with sweet potato fries and said it was an excellent burger. The best challah around as I took home for my kids. Would highly recommend
Roni's Hampstead provided the food for our garden party last weekend. It was perfect: salmon and a variety of salads, followed by fruit platters. All fresh and of the highest quality. The guests loved it and so did we. Nicole was exceptionally helpful and flexible as we changed our minds about what to serve, and helped enormously in getting the order completed on time . I could not recommend Roni's Hampstead more highly if you have an event to cater.
Their bagels are good but the customer service atrocious. I was standing in front of the till today with a 3 year old waiting to pay and I was totally ignored by 3 staff members. They didn't even acknowledge my presence. They didn't even say Hi and politely ask me to wait a few moments and then apologised for the delay. They all looked very grumpy, as if almost forced to be there... Very bad experience and they are not cheap by far.
I was there with my friends for desserts. We ordered tiramisu and other desserts. In fact, tiramisu was quite old. Some point we decided not to finish it as it felt almost off. The service was very disappointing as well. They started cleaning up our table though we did not finish our food. Also, price for each item was not displayed so the bill can turn out quite unexpected for the quality of food. I would not recommend this place.
Went to this cafe on Boxing Day as this was the only place that’s been open that day. The seating area is quite small, thus we’ve opted for a takeaway. The staff seemed to be in a rush, yet we still had to wait a long time for our coffee. Bagels with salmon and cream cheese were tasty but rather small. Overall, it’s great that Roni’s was open on a bank holiday but I would probably not be back here if I had a choice
Delicious food in general. Unfortunately, attention to detail is missing. The service is a bit chaotic and uncoordinated. I also wasn't impressed that although I ordered the salt beef on rye bread I got it on white bread. When I flagged this with the waiter he insisted it was rye bread. It clearly wasn't (see picture) but I didn't want to pick a fight over this. Roni's, you can do better...
Really great. A small place to stop for coffee and light meals. Americano coffee is perfect, served hot, stays hot and best flavour (not the weak stuff sold in chains). Food delicious, also sells bread and pastry, eat in or take away. There are a few tables outside (under a heater when cold), we sat very comfortably with our dog. Inside is warm, has a loo downstairs.
Terrible experience. Waited absolutely ages to find out our order had been forgotten, and there was no apology or anything. We then heard shouting from the kitchen and decided that it would be best to leave. So disorganised and unhelpful, I bet the staff haven’t even noticed we left. Don’t waste your time on this deceiving place as it looks promising from the street.
Did not have a good experience here. Had to wait 10 minutes for tap water and even longer for food. Completely overpriced for really skimpy portions. The bread was sliced so thinly it was falling apart and was barely filled with anything. We left feeling really hungry and scammed. Not sure if this was one off but very disappointed and big waste of money :(
Used to be really good. Food is very average now. And it took an hour to get some eggs and a bagel from ordering. Cafe up the road does it in 5 mins and it’s nicer. Very busy deliveroo service though so at least they are making money from takeaway as they neglect the people that eat in. Waitress was very very nice and not her fault the kitchen is rubbish.
Shop owner apparently has given instructions not to accept non-English sterling bank notes. Our pounds sterling Northern Irish notes were not accepted in this shop. Absolutely ridiculous. Clearly the owner needs to be trained on what is valid tender and not discriminate against customers not from England! One star for the nice sandwich.
Just wanted a quick cream cheese bagel. Didn't realise I had to have salad with it (which i said i didnt want and didnt touch) and that a 5 minute pit stop for a very simple bagel would set me back £5.25! When I complained the woman was unsympathetic and unfriendly. I paid up begrudgingly. Would not recommend.
One of the waitresses has a face like a smacked ass. No smile, no nothing. Had coffee followed by lunch and weren't even asked if we wanted water etc. Empty plates were in front for ages so we dumped it on the neighbouring table were it stayed till we left. Next time I go to Pain Quotidian....
The bakery is really good and has nice Challa, bagels and rougelach. However the restaurant is terrible. The service is really bad. You’re mostly ignored and they forgot to bring our drinks. They served us madbucha which had gone bad, the shakshuka was tasteless and the hummus not good either.
I am a regular customer of Ronis and lives locally .Today I must informed Mr Ronis that you have a Very friendly and hard working Staff , delicious food, and cafe but manger is incredibly rude to staff, and biased against some customer, she often tells her staff off in front customers-
Good portion sizes, reasonably priced and good quality ingredients. What more do you need for brunch. There are lots of coffee shops around the area so did not try the coffee there, got a healthy juice instead which was great with the breakfast. Bakery looks great also.
For 2 bagels and 2 coffees we paid almost 30£, it's not ok, the server should have told us there's a salad on the plate but instead sold another one, she also didn't listen that one dish should have been without bread and just egg. Not great service and too expensive.
I have never tried the restaurant but I pick-up bagels from here and they are fantastic! It is the only place in London I have found with "everything bagels", a staple in North America but have never found them in London! They are great. A bit expensive but worth it.
very disgusted at the service. I ordered a toasted sandwich and it was burnt! I wish I had taken a picture to prove my point. My salad was just thrown on the plate with no dressing - I can't believe it was even allowed to leave the kitchen. . WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!
Service is not always the best (the ladies working there are often -understandably- overwhelmed and sometimes even a bit brusque) & a bit overpriced but lovely food and juices (in my view the best shakshuka in the neighborhood). A good spot for lunch / brunch.
this place has completely gone downhill. They've changed the quality of the bagles, and they want nearly a fiver for a tuna bagel. Service is now a complete joke . After years of going out my way to get my bagles, I will look for somewhere else .Shame
Service is a bit slow and waiters aren't paying much attention to the tables. Breakfast platter was okay, but nothing very special. The almond croissant was delicious and all the baked goods looked great. Will go back to buy some to take away.
Next to the (hugely overpriced) deli, also owned by the eponymous Roni. • Situation & Ambience: all ok. • Food & Drink: good quality • Service: meh. Slow, charmless and unthinking. • Price & value: Hampstead prices; and roughly competitive.
I was overall not impressed. The cafe looked very welcoming and it caught my eye. However, it took 50 minutes from the moment they sat me down to when i received my hot drink and jacket potato. The hot chocolate was good and therefore I’ve
Lovely food, great choice and nice new café. Only downside is the slicing bread machine has not been working for a long time so I have to get my bread from their other branches in West Hampstead or Belsize village. Hope they fix it soon.
I can't believe the good reviews here, honestly the staff is clearly unhappy to work here. They seems trying but I noticed that the people are often changing and from what I saw seems a toxic place to work which reflect on the service.
We had three pastries, all of them were days old. The tiramisu was so old that what was supposed to be the coffee chantilly on top turned into a chewy sponge, and the mascarpone cream was crumbling.. Probably dangerous to consume.
Popular cafe in Hampstead village. Good vibe, nice music, interesting crowd. Always busy on the weekends. Nice quality pastry, although on a pricy side, also decent coffee. Service was kind and friendly, also not obstructive.
A small bakery/cafe serving very nice coffee, breakfasts, light meals and tasty selection of baked goods. They can get busy, but early morning is often quietest as they do a lot of deliveries. Polite friendly and clean.
Nicely designed cozy bakery with good selection of breakfasts from shakshuka, to eggs benedict, bagels to breads.Portions are okay and delicious. I stepped in by a chance and if i ll be in hampstead, i will stop by.
It’s a great place to have a little break eat something good drink delicious coffee or fresh pressed juice in my opinion the best on Hampstead. Happy and energetic staff. Always my first choice.
Really horrible experience, my cup had someone else's lipstick on it and the coffee was burnt. Coffee and a biscuit was over £6 which felt like a made up price. Really better avoid this one
Had a great coffee and visit yesterday evening. Nice lady serving and lovely clientele. One classy area for people watching. Gorgeous kescake in the display cabinet. Naughty but nice!!
Walking during shutdown. Hampstead branch. Popped un to buy a bagel but... Couldn't resist 2x saltbeef bagels! Fantastic. Loads of meat, pickles, mustard. Soo tasty! I'll be back …
Service very good and nothing was too much. Wheelchair accessible did not check if toilets were. For Hampstead I thought it was good value. PS Good sized portions of what we ordered.
Good food but latte and mocha was okay. The Ronis Scrambled was delicious and big in portion. Pretty good for £9.50. A fairly small cafe so you won't have much privacy dining here.
Cosy café in Hampstead with patisserie and food. Some tables outside to grab if you are lucky, sitting inside isn't too bad either. Yummy cakes and delicious coffee. ☕ …
Food was alright but I was very disappointed in the service. None of the waiters were friendly and they were all disorganised. Seating is also too close to other people
We were asked for min £5 order to just seat outside, total ripoff and coffee is tasteless. There are many nice and friendly cafes in Hampstead should avoid this place.
The order is always incorrect & one of the girls who serves is soooo very rude …. Definitely would not recommend…. My Sunday ruined by how completely off hand she was
I had lunch today of Smoked salmon bagel and a cup of coffee I was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly 31 July 2021 I will be back again soon …
The bagels are just amazing. Also love the home made cream cheese and the smoked salmon. Can't go wrong if you get all of these and make up some sandwiches at home!
Awful pancakes today. Dry and clearly not fresh. Rock hard! Sat outside and service atrocious. Do not put tables outside if you do not want to serve this section.
Good food and pastries. Belsize Village branch is much better for service and staff attitude. Update: service much improved at this branch. Food as good as ever.
Excellent! Location, quality products, friendly service. Everyone was abiding but Nobody's neurotic about the farcical social distancing. Good around experience
There were 5 unexperienced girls (staff) all working in a chaos and didn't know what to do, really. Our tart was fine but nothing special. Would not recommend.
Fast service but the wine was terrible and the shakshuka incredibly disappointing with zero seasoning (not even salt!) and a soggy egg. Would not go again.
Rude service. Two girls gave me attitude when I asked if an item was gluten free. I have celiac disease and they responded very rudely. Never will return.
Delicious food, and comparable to real traditional Israeli dishes. Welcoming atmosphere, though very little space between tables and on the table also.
good food - bad/ strange service - totally unclear how (and what) to order - makes no sense and somehow you're supposed to know - great seating outside
I've eaten here a few times, keep thinking things will improve, THEY DONT. Felt sick twice after eating here. Health authorities need to pay a visit.
Fantastic service, super fresh food and really nice vibe. Grear for sitting outside in the summer having lunch with friends and people-watching.
Food wasnt amazing but wasn't bad either. Nice location to sit and people.watch if you're able to grab a table outside. Friendly service
Cozy little cafe. Their pita bread is my favourite. The Israeli chop chop salad is another go-to late afternoon snack in a hot summer.
Loved it but book as it is not so big. Large choice of delicious eats. Added bonus is you can buy bread and bagels to take away.
Good coffee and tasty buns and biscuits

Nice bakery with lots of tasty desert. The matcha latte wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but the capuccino was really nice
The food is average at best. The shaksuka is tasteless. And it’s way overpriced. The cake section is disappointing.
Ok, so we love bagels and that’s all we eat in New York. Roni’s bagels are the best we have ever eaten, hands down
Always enjoy coming here. The food is fresh and delicious. Service is good and the bakery is always well stocked.
Coffee was of a generic chain (and poor quality) and the almond croissant was dry and not fresh today (Saturday).
A well priced place for healthy as well as varied breakfasts and light lunches. Quick service and well priced.
Buzzing cafe with good portion sizes and attentive service. Delicious pastries and cakes - would recommend!
We love their bagels. It would be convenient if they also offered a mixed bag. Also try the challah.
Very expensive for what it is. Great service and food was quite good just a shame about the price.
Good food. Seating could be better, but standard for this neighbourhood. Good for a light brunch.
Do not waste your time or money. Extortionate prices for awful food. Service was good though.
Staff are helpful, polite, and eager to please. The food and coffee are pretty decent too.
Cute place, lots of yummy looking treats and desserts to choose from, warm welcoming staff
It's a bit pricey. But what do you expect in desirable Hampstead?? Coffee is good.
Fantastic service and probably the best Shakshuka I’ve ever had in any restaurant.
Very nice , clean and good quality coffe there with very friendly people, thanks
Very good service, nice bagels. I'll be back for sure.
We had the Champagne breakfast which was delicious
Great food, can get busy during peak times
0/5 Food hygiene rating. Shameful!
Super service, great food.
