Spent £3.90 each on two almond . (Croissants were all already pre-packed in paper bags) Disappointed to discover upon opening that they were not croissants, and aside from the despondent flakes on the top almonds were barely involved in the bake. What we got were two dry disappointing (at best) brioche dough rolled into croissant shapes with nearly a handful of flaked almonds maybe thrown at them. Absolutely no trace of lamination. We made a point of buying from a local business rather than sainsburys (5 doors down) which is a shame as I feel like for half the price we might have got what we thought we were ordering. Had “the bake” actually been a croissant or fully committed to being almond flavoured I might have been more generous in my review.

First time ordering and how disappointing. Ordered ‘a large’ baguette and the ‘legendary brownie’. Where do I start? The baguette was NOT large it was pushing on being small. the bread was rock hard and the legendary brownie was FROZEN. Considering it’s almost £4 a brownie and labelled as legendary you would think that it would at least be homemade and FRESH. I cannot emphasise how much of a rip off it was. Im sure they would be found guilty of false advertisement in court. Over priced with Poor quality. Honestly you would be better off getting your lunch from Pret!

I used to love this coffee shop. The staff were so friendly and nice to chat to. It is now awful with the food packaged, the paintwork none too clean and with such off-hand and unfriendly staff. The guy with cropped hair glared at me when I last called in, with no word of welcome and then heaved a long-suffering sigh when I had the temerity to changing where i wanted to sit. What a waste - it used to be such a great local hub. They need to learn welcoming techniques from L'Amandine along the road.

I ordered a red velvet birthday cake from here. I am not local and placed the order via phone for collection. Graham was helpful and the cake was absolutely divine. The bakery itself had a lovely atmosphere, bustling with customers, small families and dogs. The selection of baked goods and coffee were impressive and it was nice to see local small businesses items for sale from the bakery too. What a lovely place to have local. And a great business to help out with a non locals request.

I can't believe I used to ride past here without even looking at it. Top quality coffee and cakes. They also do what looks like excellent bread. Now early in 2022 they have updated their menu and have different, and delicious, savouries to offer. This is still a wonderful place and one of the best cafes around. January 2023 and despite a change of management/ownership: service, coffee and ambiance remain first class. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

This cafe USED to be a gem on Richmond Hill. Haven't been for a while so went today. Such a shame... now... a soulless, cheap rent looking cafe - but charging exorbitant prices. Every piece of food stuffed into a single use plastic bag, even if eating in. All the lovely gifts and candles have been replaced by bulk order cups, packets of napkins etc. Not worth the walk up the hill and definitely not worth the prices. Won't be coming back

  • Adrienne Bradshaw

Such an amazing little cafe! Hot drinks and baked good were so fresh and tasty. Honestly the best hot choclate I have had served to me since arriving in London. Friendly staff and excellent service! We felt like royalty! Lovely cozy atmosphere and very popular. It’s our new favorite place and we will definitely go back again and again! I highly recommend for a visit. Thanks to Alex, Graham and their lovely staff! See you soon!

"On the walk between the station and the park you will come across a small, homely café. Richmond Hill Bakery is a café that has the features of a café you would find in a small highland village, much like a place I would stop off at for a bite to eat or a hot chocolate after a bit of hiking. The cosy decor, wooden floors and local art on the walls, create a warm and inviting place to recover after a long walk in the park."

Was not a very good visit. Was not welcomed & rushed our order. We sat in and had a latte & tea which were served in paper cups even though all coffee shops down the road were served in china cups. Pastries were in bags just thrown on a plate. Tea tasted awful and tea bag split as had also been thrown in. No atmosphere. Really disappointed. Best to go elsewhere. One star as my husbands latte tasted good.

If you expect nice, bright, sunny morning coffee time, this is not a place for it. Basically I was feeling refreshing and smiley when I got there, and ended up to feel abit greyish after coffee here. Not convinced with taste of a croissant(m&s ones are better), and poor service. No smile back and kind of ingnoring attitude. This is my first time ever to leave a review and I will never visit here again.

If you are happy to accept the fact that you are in Richmond/Richmond Hill which means higher price, than you will be probably happy with this bakery/coffee shop. For me it's just average independent coffee shop with nothing special except prices. The coffee and pastries are really just average, but if you are lucky you can get quite nice baguettes and rolls which I really like.

  • Margherita Costantino

Too espensive con cup of coffee - and the cakes always dry and questionable test. Always busy, with people that spend the entire morning there, so no to table avalaible. Like other places on the Hill pretending to be posh but are far from it. For nice bread would be the only time to go, if you leave near by and you've forgot to buy on your shopping. Shame...

  • Yelena Rovenskaya

Lovely bakery, really worth a visit if you’re in the area. The price of the pastries was fair for the quality. Be prepared for the crowd if coming on a weekend, but if you’re not able to find a seat, the convenient packaging makes it easy to take away for a picnic. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their offerings.

Gone down hill dramatically. Used to frequent this place regularly but not anymore. Famous for its scones but they we’re not available on my last 2 visits. (Which will be my last) Presentation of food drab and uninteresting. Service, well basically disinterested but not surprising as it’s such an uninspiring place now. Shame,

Today is the day when I have to create the review about this barkery/coffee after I went 3/4 times. It's a great coffee with great sandwiches, one of the best. I love breakfast here, but something made me give it 3 stars. The price made me put 3 stars, the prices have increased a lot lately which made me refuse to go again.

  • Claire Altmann

Great coffee and delicious treats to eat - for standard/high Richmond prices. It also has a few shelves of foodie/deli goods and other pretty bits and bobs (think mugs, scarves) for sale. I agree it's a bit yummy mummy, but there's not much space for buggies inside and the toilet with the changing table is tiny.

  • Bas P

Cake was absolutely horrible, dry and tasteless, v disappointed. The service was terrible, couldn’t help notice the woman at counter was unkind and impolite to me but very friendly with someone behind me with different characteristics. It’s a shame as the café could be so much better.

  • Nick Sonia

Ordered coffee and the staff watched us wait for at least 20minutes, when we asked about it again the staff were rude and only then told us to tell their staff at the back of the cafe our order. Bad system, but i could have overlooked that if the staff were helpful in some way.

  • kevin ryan

Really great place that I have been going to regularly since it opened. Good quality coffee, in fine, big white china mugs. Like to linger, but try not to, as it can get quite busy. A little expensive perhaps, but it is an independent business and quality is worth the extra.

  • TERENCE J SIMMONS

Now under new management, much better !!! Ignore comments below! Wow, a loaf of bread for 13£. Has to be seen alone. Dogs, kids, yummy mummies, NO wonder the staff are miserable. (P.s. the loaf can be cut in half or quarters). Lol... Very busy Saturday | Sunday mornings.

  • Dan Redman

Asked staff member if the overpriced roll I decided on buying had mayonnaise in it. I was informed it had no sauce at all. Once back at work I took the lady at her word and bit into said roll and was greeted with the vile taste of uncooked egg and oil . I won't be back.

  • VAL VLOG

Delightful. The ambiance is warm. There were young folks working on laptops so good vibes on that front. Had two large jars of drinking water with glasses for customers. One jar had with mint and cucumber slices in the water for a refreshing taste.

  • Sara Shamsavari- Matthews

Lovely independent coffee shop on Richmond Hill serving quality allpress coffee. Prices are high as to be expected in this part of town. The split level gives the cafe real charm as does the decor and changing artwork presumably by local artists.

  • Sam Wilkin

The cakes are absolutely amazing. The guy behind the counter is so nice and genuinely interested in his locals and does what he can to help out. One of my favourite places to go and I was so happy they continued with collection and deliveries

  • Liam Hennessy

The only quibble was not being told that I had to go and order my coffee from the back counter - I only found out five minutes later by accident. Great food and coffee though. Can be a bit of a crèche if you catch it at the wrong moment.

  • MB D

Lovely location to sit outside but very disappointing cafe. The Cornish pasty was half cold - the waitress had asked if we wanted it heated up and we had said yes please - and barely had any meat (advertised as beef pasty). The lemon

  • Anaïs

Despite the nice location and setting, I found the coffee stop overrated and overpriced for the food quality delivered. The viennoiseries tasted more like a dry and sweet flat biscuit rather than actual ones. Will not return.

  • Cearbhall O Raghallaigh

I've been several times and always found the coffee to be to my liking . Have had pastries several times and found them nice aswell . I've knocked off a star as for the prices I'm expecting blow your socks off coffee n food .

  • Alex

I used to come here alot but I've recently noticed is no way as good as it used to be. Been told it has new owners Shame !!! Come here and have the coffee and try not to think about what it used to be like

  • Tania Morrill

Perfect way to start the day! Great coffee, great cakes and most importantly, great coffee. We love it and so does our dog Luna who pulls us all the way here every morning. It’s her favourite coffee shop too!

  • Juan Manuel Mosucha Linares

Brilliant place to have a hot drink and a light snack. Except the cashier he is a bit loud when you are a little bereaved. I lost one of my best friend to the pandemic and I want to find a place of quietness

  • kane ho

just moved in this area , never been to any cafe feel so much relaxing , I would say better than any cafes in my experienced , only flaw is no WiFi, but actually I don't mind , other customers may be needed

  • Richard Atkins

Nice range of good quality sandwiches, pastries and treats. Picnic bits for the park. Friendly staff, obviously a really nice place post restrictions. Packaging includes a lot of plastic otherwise 5 stars.

  • Robyn Knott

Great coffee and snacks..staff so helpful and friendly, was such a pleasant experience after a nice walk around Richmond park on Saturday. Will be back for some more delish spoils. Thank you again:)

  • Naomi Murphy

Very cute cafe and bakery. Wide selection of bakery items and cakes with vegan and gluten free options. Also a large collection of hot and cold drinks. Lovely place to go and watch the world go by.

  • David Garcia

Had brioche sandwich of ham and egg... just what I wanted. Good selection of cakes. Nice use of wood gives the place a country feel. Very popular with Mums escorting kids to Vineyard School

  • Miri Stevens

This place is great! Gorgeous food, great drinks and friendly staff all in the lovely villagey world of Richmond Hill. Must try their carrot cake it’s divine! And BLT brioche yum!

  • Tom Harvey

Chilled cafe and bakery popular with locals waking up for the day and walking their dogs. Good coffee, great staff and nice atmosphere. Floods with natural sunlight on sunny days.

  • Eliza

Great coffee, pastries and sandwiches, but expect Richmond prices (£££) of course :) It is a nice neighborhood caf, pretty much always busy. A bit of a yummy mummy place as well.

  • Manu Nair

Tried the red velvet cake which was unfortunately way too sweet and wasn't fresh. Service was poor as well with staff busy chatting with each other than tending to customers.

  • Alejandro Sarco

Nice bakery, everything they sell, sweet or savoury, is delicious and of a great quality. Prices are a bit higher than what you expect, but you get very good quality indeed.

  • Christoper Trudgill

A lovely stop in a lovely place. My daughter had their vegan sausage roll and loved it I had a ploughman's in brioche, very nice. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant indeed.

  • Damian Sheriff

Everything I've tried here has been really good quality. The scones, cheesecake and Millefeuille are all top notch. The coffee's some of Richmond's best too! Lovely place.

  • Catherine Satterlee

Richmond Hill Bakery is my “happy place” in the neighbourhood: the people are wonderful, the food is excellent, the aromas are amazing, and the space is cozy and inviting.

  • Danny Staple

Bright and sunny cafe on Richmond Hill. Good coffee, enjoyable food. Very polite and kid-friendly. I come here occasionally to enjoy the atmosphere and good coffee.

  • Lucy Timms

It's a great spot but slightly confusing with drinks area and food till separate. Food very good I don't drink coffee so can't comment. Hot chocs were great.

  • Ma Lee

Love the bakery - it's a real part of the Richmond community, the produce is almost all made on site and the coffee is some of the best in Richmond …

  • Altug Ozgenlik

One of the indispensable spots of Richmond Hill. Warm and friendly staff. Good coffee and delicious desserts. I wish they had a bit more space.

  • Hesh El-Sayyad

The coffee is always good and the patisserie/ bakery selection always freshly made and to die for ...one of my favourite bakeries in town …

  • Anthony Papantoniou

For its location and clientele you would expect decent service with a smile. Instead it was horrible uninviting and haven't been since...

  • Asha Yadav

Beautiful bakery with wide variety of vegan options n best cappuccino had in in Richmond hill made by barista rita with amazing service.

  • Bart

Misleading name - it's not a bakery, more like 'Reheatery'. Lowest possible quality, baked from frozen, burnt coffee, won't visit again.

  • Margaux T

Not in my habits to post any comments but let’s be honest, staff here was really unpleasant. A simple smile would have been too much?

  • Kosha Hussain

My favourite place to spend the day in Richmond! Great staff, good food and reasonable prices. I recommend their chocolate brownie.

  • Con O'Brien

Lovely place in Richmond Hill with a real local feel. Can be very busy. Great cakes. A real hidden gem on the way to Richmond Park.

  • Fahad Durrani

Amazing little cafe with a great family friendly atmosphere. Some delicious cakes as well. I especially love the almond croissant.

  • annabelle gerber

Unfortunately staff are unfriendly, food is truly awful and every single item in the place comes individually packaged in plastic

  • Dervish Gjocaj

  • Louise Peddar

Homely coffee shop which was a warm welcome after a long walk in Richmond Park. Delicious coffee and I would go back :)

Small but nice. Their selection is good. Not great for people with allergies though as lots of dogs inside the bakery.

  • Ollie Thompson

My favourite bakery in the Richmond area. Have a stroll up the hill and grab a coffee and a loaf or some croissants

  • Eleanor Levy

Unusually the café welcomes people with dogs and the food and coffee are good -the clientele are leisurely, no rush

  • Luke Pritchard

No menu. No labels on food. No prices on food. Overpriced (£4 for an orange juice). All in all a ridiculous set-up.

  • Michael Chang

Cosy coffee shop with friendly staff, a short walk from Richmond Park, serving a good selection of food and coffee.

  • JL.

The food was really good, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. The seats are limited so better to avoid peak times.

  • Olly Bailey

Unpretentious and really nice baked food. Always stop in after a walk in the park. Dog and cycle friendly as well!

Staff are far more interested in their own conversations than making drinks... Or even acknowledging patrons
