So I place an order with the bartender to which he replies are you paying cash? I answered that I was not and he brushed me off with his hand and moved on to the next customer. However, he would take long breaks in between serving people to talk to pretty girls along the bar. I'm not saying you shouldn't do that but there's a time and a place. Then I went to inquire with the staff whether they had an ATM in the bar to which they replied that they do not and they take interac at the bar. So I return to the same bartender and a machine is situated on the bar. I pick up the machine and point to it and he replies again: ONLY CASH! The machine was fully functioning and I'll get to his logic afterwards. Finally I call out to him saying that I want to be served, he comes back and says you're not going to be served acting like that. Five minutes later he returns and says that he almost didn't serve me because I called out to him after 20 Minutes of waiting to be served. So I place my order, get my bill and I give him 0 tip. I'm from Canada, I know the customary tip is 15%. Further, I know that bartenders get taxed 8% on their sales. However, as a customer, I demand a minimum level of service. He did not meet the threshold. He refused to serve me because I was paying debit card and only once I made it clear I was extremely dissatisfied did he serve me and made me feel as though I were lucky to be served. Therefore, he did not deserve one penny of my money. Upon realizing that I did not tip him, he told me that you "HAVE TO tip here." I replied that without service I am not going to tip. It's a business transaction, I am not a charity and I do not offer consideration without any back. Then he said that if I didn't tip I would be ejected and called the bouncer over. I replied that I will leave and did not resist but I want to be reimbursed for my beverages that I would not be allowed to enjoy. He turned away from me and then I explained the situation to the bouncer who would not hear my story and just told me to leave. I was trying to reason with him but he told me that he would forcibly remove me if I do not leave. I asked to speak to his manager and he would not call on her. Luckily the people working at the entrance were extremely helpful and called on their manager. (Considering I have to give this place a one star it goes out to those people because they were awesome). Finally, the manager came and I explained the situation to which she replied regarding the 8% rule and I answered that I know very well but that comes with a minimum standard of service. And she said that the reason he wasn't serving me is because cash is quicker and he wanted to maximize profits. Wait a minute ? I understand from an economical standpoint that is in the benefit of the bar and the bartender but what about the customer? Do we not deserve service when we're the reason this establishment is able to continue to function? The customer is supposed to be accommodated as we are the ones that pay. If they want to run that kind of establishment then there should not be an extra service fee. Finally after discussing this point the manager grudgingly returned my money and failed to apologize. She, like the bartender, made it seem as if I am lucky. All in all I will never go back to this place. And if you choose to please don't pay for service that isn't offered. I have numerous friends in the industry and you would never be ejected from a restaurant for not tipping. I always tip within the 15-25% range and this is the first time I decided not to tip. Neither the bartender nor Reggie's deserved my money.

Reggie's became quite the establishment. While it is not entirely "my type of bar" (as I'm a dive bar fanatic), the space and the selection is satisfying while the service is more than acceptable. Disappointingly, I'd only count the products worthwhile while on sale. Otherwise, they are somewhat expensive especially considering they self-identify as a "student bar". The staff is friendly and there is plenty of seating. This would be 3.5/5 due to the prices but Yelp's programming is not amazing enough to take into account decimals other than for average reviews. It's not fantastic but it's not bad. The renovations were, all-in-all, worth it (even if they took a substantial amount of time to come to fruition).

Fun space on campus! Super friendly staff. Love the setup with the stage. They have really good fries too Our student association booked Reggies for our spring banquet. There were complications in the process.. lots of miscommunication and misunderstanding. We got double booked at first, then they said we never asked for food at our event when it was explicitly written in one of our emails to them that we wanted food + drinks. Things worked out at the end. So, good place to hang out, but can be a hassle for coordinating with the staff if you want to have an event. It is easy to book through their website if you’re a student group on campus.

On y sert à manger.

Reggies has always had a place in my heart. However, the most recent time I went here, me and a friend of mine found ourselves being treating extremely unfairly by the barmaid. We still have no idea why, but she was quite rude towards us and we have no idea why. We had a couple questions that set her off and afterwards I tipped her (luckily on her part because the service was atrocious) and she was still aggressive with us. We won't be coming back.

The staff were extremely friendly and the food was phenomenal! Best drinks downtown! The steak and truffle sauce was a bit bland, and i suspect the truffle had been dried rather than jarred. The lobster bisque was a bit dry too- but i appreciate that they were light on the béchamel. This place is definitely deserving of the michelin stars it’s been awarded!

Mixed feelings about the service and food. Sometimes the service is great, sometimes the waiters don't even acknowledge your existence. Some foods (like their burgers) are good, but one time I got a Panini and it was just plain white bread with chicken on it. Great spot to study in the middle of the day while having a beer! Decor is spacious and cozy too.

  • Alexander Nachaj

It's back and it's surprisingly not the dive bar it used to be. New decor, new layout, new menu and better options on tap than its previous incarnation. Prices are great and the food is remarkably better (both taste and presentation) than you would expect for a university bar. It does get crowded and noisy (especially since the music is always too loud).

  • The Anamex

It's really more of a place to go to meet other students and only that. The food sucks, the service is slow, the bartenders don't always have the best attitude, and there are SO many other options downtown. They've gotten multiple of my orders wrong.

Reggie’s bartenders… if you’re reading this ? if you’re not having a great day stop taking it out on customers. you literally could call in sick but the most consistent thing served is attitude as compared to drinks. drinks slow but the bad attitude is served in a stellar manner.

Cheap beer and good food. Go study there. Or don't. The vibes change wildly from Thursday morning to Thursday night. Staff changes often but they all know what they're doing and are usually pretty chill. Be prepared for some kind of event to being going on there multiple times per week but it usually won't bother you too much.

  • Shamim Rahman

Reggies is the place to hang chill study..!! cheap drinks, perfect place to have a gathering, you can also have events. The best place. The staff are amazing, Great managers, bartenders are super friendly and amazing... overall just an amazing place.. TIP - Thursday nights are LLLLLLLIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT...!!!!

  • Jeny Poirier

I would not recommend this place. I forgot my laptop charger, when I went to get it back it was right on the bar. Staff member said he has no idea who it belongs to but it’s probably to the staff members. Dishonest poeple, luckily I did not forgot my wallet it would have become theirs also.

  • Real Lafortune-Tellier

It’s a decent place, servers are super nice. The only issue that this place can’t control is the amount of cults coming in and out. I guess every bar has their share of parasites. If you want to enjoy this place on a calmer day, try going Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • Ahmed J. Magdoul

In all honesty, when covid restrictions were ongoing, staff was drunk, and people were dancing. Waaaay too overpriced. I strongly suggest people go to Mad Hatters as an alternative. It's two streets away and much better!

  • Sabrina Boukellal

Nice vibe for a student bar with drinks at a great price for students. Happy hour is all week from 4-8 so it's a great spot to comr hang out with your friends after class, have lunch or dinner and enjoy the setting

  • Rose Fox

Reggie's bar has always been our go-to place for cheap shots, friendly staff and good music. Don't miss this spot on a Friday or Saturday night! If you're hitting Crescent St, you need to make this a stop.

  • Alex Decarie

It's a great bar but I think the food is overpriced and the music is often to loud for when most people there just want to drink and talk. But it's chill, staff are chill, booze is cheap and good quality.

  • Nicholas Luis

Fantastic service, warm and friendly. Best bar food in the city - Reggies Burger is ridiculous ! Staff is attentive and welcoming, this place became my second home. Five starts all around

  • Sen Huang

Totally not sure why did it ask us at 12 to go away on a Friday night after our society’s meet and greet, while it shows on google that the place is open till 2am …

How I started drinking, thanks to the massively promoted business-drinking "networking" events at Uni. First time drinking daily, in-the-University setting helped.

Great Place, Great Staff & Great Food! Thursday nights are the party night. They hold other fun nights related to trivia weekly and open mic from time to time!

  • Keegan H

Drinks are cheap, place wasn't obnoxiously loud, plenty of seating, nice service and the food (I had chicken tendies and fries) was typical but good bar food.

A bar inside Hall Building (Concordia University) where you can chill after Midterms AND Finals. 10/10 Would recommend, especially for Uni students …

  • bbb kate

Incorrect opening hours, closed when open. Open when closed. 0 online presence, no phone answering. Seems like a ghost place except for certain times

  • C May

Mozz sticks: mac n cheese: Like it here, mostly students. Inexpensive. Music is the trendy tunes most students would know so it's fun …
