I recently reserved the private room at Bar Furco to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and it turned out to be a truly unpleasant experience. The owner, J F, displayed extreme rudeness and disrespect throughout the evening, along with engaging in inappropriate behavior. From the moment we made the reservation over the phone, J F was incredibly mean, setting a negative tone for the entire night. The private room had a minimum spend requirement of $2000, and I made sure to track our spending diligently by checking in with the bartender regularly. He showed me the screen towards the end of the night and we had surpassed 2000$ in sales. As the night progressed, J F kept approaching my girlfriend, taking her aside and offering her shots. He even tried to persuade her to buy expensive bottles of wine, claiming that we were still far from reaching the minimum spend. As we were leaving, J F suddenly claimed we were $500 short and insisted we couldn't leave without paying that additional amount. I knew this was not true because I had seen the screen before leaving and the total amount was over 2000$. This isn't the first time such an incident has occurred at Bar Furco. During my own birthday celebration a few months ago in the same private room, the owner pulled the same stunt. I fell for it then and paid him $400 without receiving any proof or explanation. This time, however, I took precautions to track the spending meticulously and refused to let him take advantage of me again. I strongly advise against hosting any special occasions at Bar Furco, as their owner's rude and disrespectful behavior, coupled with their questionable financial practices and unwanted advances, tarnish what could have been a pleasant experience. It's truly disappointing to see a venue resorting to such tactics instead of providing genuine service and customer satisfaction.

I visited Bar Furco on a very busy Friday night with a party of 7 that had a staggered arrival. Five (5) of us arrived together and were accommodated even though we did not have a reservation. When the remaining two (2) guests arrived, the staff cooperated to reseat us quickly. The staff was attentive, patient and made us feel welcome even though we were totally disorganized. The vibe at Bar Furco was perfect for reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. The lighting was warm, the music was at a reasonable volume (the DJ was great - he played a mix that included pop and Afrobeats), and the bar layout provided nice sight-lines to quickly find others in the crowd. My group is in Montreal for a conference and I ran into several others from the conference scattered around the bar. Lastly, the menu offered a variety of proteins, was reasonably priced and delicious. Our group had a mix of dietary restrictions and everyone found at least one item they were excited about. The plates were made for sharing and I was able to try an assortment of interesting dishes. If you are looking for a chic bar to entertain friends and enjoy appetizing food in a classy atmosphere, I highly recommend Bar Furco. I suggest making a reservation as this place was very popular during my visit.

Furco is definitely an institution in montreal, the decor is timeless and the menu is constantly re-invented. The menu is constantly changing giving us a chance to enjoy a new culinary experience each time. Dont be surprised if the menu is short and simple- the food is everything but ordinary. Furco is definitely pushing us to discover the amazing flavors that are well thought and incredibly executed- they know what they are doing. This place is a vibe. Love the eclectic guests ; whether you are going out for a girls night, an after-work cocktail or a date. Cool vibes, cool people and incredible food and wines !! Love it

An amazing spot for a 5 à 7 , but personally I went there for a solo date during the week and it’s also just perfect. Sat at the bar , the bartender was nice and you don’t feel weird being alone. The portions for food are generous and the prices are very faire for the what you get. The DJ was great and served the night very well. The transition of the atmosphere as the night went on was very beautiful an enjoyable. Thursday night a great for solo date night or girls night. A place a will definitely come back to.

Came here for my birthday unexpectedly as a first time visitor to Montreal, and I have to say you all have a fan for life. The service was EXCELLENT!!!! I felt so special and celebrated. Thank you! The tall man at the door made my day!! I wish I wouldve gotten his name to give him the respect he deserves in this post. Nevertheless, the menu had a nice variety and was well priced. Also, the food, drinks, and even dessert was AMAZING!! Definitely a good vibe venue with a greeat DJ. Will be returning!

First happy hour after such a long time is refreshing and what better place then a long standing place like Furco! We haven't ordered to eat so I can't really comment on the food here, but the drinks were what you would expect. They aren't outstanding, but they are prepared enough to be enjoyed. The service is great. The staff listens and tries to accommodate as much as possible. That was really the high point of the place. Still a strong establishment for a fun happy hour.

I have been a regular guest at this bar for quite some time, but my recent encounter with the owner JF has left me deeply disappointed. His behavior was unreasonably rude and unprofessional, I have never felt more disrespected in my life. The establishment lacks professionalism and simple respect for their customers. I have no desire to spend another dollar at Bar Furco as it would be a waste of money. Disgusting!

Amazing vibes and drinks, but service and food is terrible. Had to get up to go see my waiter once to order food and another time to get the bill. Waiter came and took half empty glasses of drinks we ordered. Ordered the cheese plate for $23 and there probably was about 6 bites of cheese there with pickles and marinated onions... underwhelming. Music and drinks were great so would definitely go back sitting at the bar, otherwise... no.

Cool out of the way bar, in the heart of the fur district. Large and can accommodate many patrons. Very nice ambience, limited menu but nice options. Bartender Jonathan is an ace at the bar, excellent service and mixology. The only negative is the music in my opinion. Has the ability to get people to dance, but not fully there. If they offered some dance music I would add another star. Worth a visit!

Good atmosphere. Nice vibes all around. Drinks selection is small. Staff are a little friendly but unfortunately lack experience. My group sat around for a bit before we were able to order. The drinks had some off ingredients, didn't taste that great. They had good wine options but didn't have a chance to try any. The place is indeed cozy and lots of friendly people around the bar.

Was about time I post a review. Been coming back regularly to Furco for the last 10 years since opening. It’s just a great place to be, welcoming staff, generous and the service is impeccable. And let’s not forget, one of the best gastro-bars in Montreal, food is just amazing as well as its wine list and cocktails!

Good bar to come to for a drink with coworkers after work. Definitely a bit of an older crowd (35+) and more urban professional. The drinks are generous and the setting is comfortable. Gets filled up pretty quickly so come early if you don’t have reservations. Service is friendly and overall can get quite noisy but still comfortable enough to have a discussion.

I tried going to Furco about a year ago for dinner with friends but turned back when we found the place completely packed. Went again a few weeks ago with colleagues and enjoyed the experience. A table was reserved for large groups and we were able to sit down together. Service was friendly and the drinks were fairly priced and tasty! I'll be back!

I’ve been many times to Furco and this week was the most disappointing one. The menu changed, 3 Falafels, yes 3 for $20!! The service was slow, no attention to the table. To be honest, I might rethink going back for work 5@7, you can get better quality/food & money ratio else where. I know times are tough, but this is too much.

Good looking bar. Nothing special about it really. I still don't understand why some places play music so loud after a certain time (22:00 sharp at that place on a Saturday night) when there is no dance floor. With music that loud, talking was ruled out and no dancing left us with people watching was the only viable activity.

The ambiance could be nice but around 10 PM the music volume becomes unbearable. Like somebody thought it was a club. You can't talk without yelling and when you leave you have a persistent buzz in your hears. PS: if you are a margarita afficionado the barman/aid can indeed make a mean one, even if it is not on the menu.

This bar is an amazing place to hang out with friends, or for a date. The decorations are raw and industrial, which I liked a lot. The menu offers plenty of possibilities, and this place is also pretty big. It’s conveniently located to go for a drink after work too. Finally, waitresses and bartenders are very courteous.

It was a nice place for happy hour, but not for a restaurant, the lamb plate was really good. music is way too loud. Even for a bar it's a bit too loud l. And after 10pm they put the music even louder

I appreciate this place. I've never not had a great time here. Music has almost always been perfect. They have a very nice set up and the drinks are fine. Can be rather quiet at at times or just flat out bustling, wasn't a huge fan of the food menu but that's just my preference. Hit them up on Thursday's or Weekends.

I've had good meals here and the wine selection is not bad. Sometimes the staff is a bit pushy, especially with tipping (no sir, I don't give a good tip if service and quality ain't that great tonight). Music is not my favorite. patrons can be a bit snooty. My experience with the bouncer have been positive.

Bar Furco has a great ambiance and an ever greater natural wine selection. They do not have much varieties of food choices however. This place is also not the best choice for vegetarians. It's still a very nice place to chill amongst friends and family.

Good ambiance, nice Ceviche however some ingredients didn’t part of the original ceviche but I asked if they can remove the eggplant from it and they did it. Fresh and good portion.

Loved the atmosphere, very cool place, and the staff was wonderful. But the menu online wasn't what we saw when we arrived, so it should be updated. There was only one vegetarian option on the new menu, and I ordered that only to have it just covered in ham (not stated on the menu). Thats really not ok.

We sat at the bar for an hour or so and had some drinks. The bartender was as friendly as can be and super attentive. He gave us space when we were just chatting but refilled our drinks quickly once we asked. Really couldn’t have had a better experience. I forget his name, but thank you! :) More

I love the vibe at Furco. I’ve been both in the daytime and later at night and recommend both. The decor is nice and the music is not too loud. The drinks are well priced, especially for the area. They also serve food from their neighbor Chez Parvis in the daytime which allows more seating.

My friend got yelled at for not tipping although he wasn’t the server who served us. Called my friend disrespectful and rude for not tipping and forced the machine back in his hands so he could leave a tip. After we all tipped he rudely grabbed the machine and stormed off without a word.

Interesting spot, the staff was super nice and I like the quick service. Drinks were kind of expensive but it's what you'd expect at a fancy place like this. Looking for some class out in the city stop by here on a Saturday night. I'd probably suggest making a reso just in case.

Horrible doorman. Clearly doesn't understand how to treat customers. No respect And poor management...steps outside and said "whatever this doorman says is fine with me"... Hope you guys continue to treat customers that way.

Pretentious servers. The room is beautiful. Wine list is decent although it was not properly served which was a bit odd as they consider themselves a wine bar. It was difficult to get prompt service and it wasn't even busy. Overall not a terrible experience but I won't return.

The cider was surprising light an bubbly and the almond cake very smooth and sweet. Just a little note though: even though we had to wait 10 min for a seat, we didn't find out until after we were seated and settled that they won't serve alcohol unless you order food first.

A great spot to enjoy some drinks with friends, or a significant other. The service is so friendly, the food is tasty, and the ambiance very welcoming

Hello, I went to eat there with a group of friends and had beef tartar with cold cuts. The next day puking, violently ill for 3 days until I end up in the hospital over night with antibiotics, fluids due to food poison and possible ecoli! Absolutely do not recommend.

Very loud when I went; I had to scream to hear what the person next to me was saying. The drinks were just average, and a bit expensive considering the overall attention to preparation. My waitress left with glasses that were not empty several times at our tables.

Underwhelming. Service was okay but the place was so loud you couldn’t hear the person next to you talk. Music was as loud if not louder than a club, when this place is supposed to be a bar.. Drinks were average. Only good thing about this place was its location.

The boss manager the owner, I'm not sure who he is but what a wonderful guy. it makes you feel special the place is absolutely stunning. The designer really did a fantastic work of art. The food unparallel. And I don't know it even makes the drinks taste better.

Quite a busy joint but the service is absolutely excellent. Both drinks we got were so delicious and different. Their drink menu is a little sparse but they’re definitely worth a try. The ambiance was also great.

Came here with my colleague. Drinks were good but the server never put in our dinner orders. It took 45 minutes to even be asked if we needed anything with empty glasses and no food. When I asked for the check, the bartender got frustrated

The place is very trendy in the heart of the city center, staff is friendly, cocktails are mixed perfectly. You will have a pleasant time, a descent conversation as the musis is not very loud. However, it is a little bit costy.

Great atmosphere. Good service. Was there with a few friends. We ordered a few bottles of wine and sat at the bar. Our bartender was always topping up our glass. Had the cheese plate (average), and the charcuterie.. was TOP.

Very loud!!! I just couldn't stay there... I was invited there for 5 a 7 I left after 10 min I couldn't hear what the person next to me was saying forget about hearing the other 10 people from the group.. very disappointed.

Great bar, awesome drinks, good service in general even when quite busy. My only complaint is that it's too loud. Not just from the music, but people yelling over each other. They need sound absorbing wall carpets or foam.

Very nice place, a bit noisy, not a place you'd want to go if you want to have a nice quiet intimate evening, but otherwise a good place. Prices are typical for a downtown bar of that scale. Decor is nice too.

Worst service I had in the past year. I received my Old Fashion, it was warm. The barman did not even stir it. The waitress wasn't polite and basically pushed us out the door when we did not reorder directly.

Friday night dj is amazing. You get all the good of going out in a low key bar. Wine list is good. Strongly advise eating first. Apetizers are good but not good enough to be a main dish

Nice restaurant, good atmosphere and the service was quick! The sandwich I ordered was delicious, however the bloody cesar was watered down and not good compared to other places.
