Walked in around 1 am with a girlfriend for our last drink of the night. We sat down at the bar a drunk girl slid into us as she flagged the bartenders down. The female bartender promptly served her a drink although it's the last thing the poor girl needed especially since the dude with her clearly has no idea what consent means. We finally get some attention and order a drink from the husky male bartender... simple: two margaritas. He acknowledges the order, then turns his attention to a group of people on the side of the bar, feeding them free shots of Jamesons. We gently ask the lush to slide the other way on the bar and ask the female bartender for a pickle from a jar sitting on the counter. I am hungry or maybe I am just testing their humanity at this point. She says "technically, no" then begrudgingly hands me a pickle. It was dry. I remind the husky fellow that we need a drink and ask him point blank "did you forget?" he says no and waves his hand at a bartender down the line that looked at him blankly. We got up and left. The good: the bar made us want to drink. The bad: not for the right reasons. Technically, I don't even think it deserves one star.
The bar is nice, music is great and the cocktails are too. This is a bar I've went to many times... But tonight I was very disappointed with our server (Sandra). We were being charged by the drink unlike everyone else, and she has the audacity to come and ask for tips when she felt they weren't high enough.. we all were tipping 15% multiple times...she asked me to calm down and speak to her in her language (french instead of English), she insulted me and told me 'how things work in Canada". I was born and raised here, unlike her... I was very disappointed by her attitude and behaviour.. we were out celebrating my friend's bday, and instead we got up and went to another bar down the street. Sandra ruined our evening, and I am super disappointed in the management for keeping someone like her on staff. Very disappointed
We ordered a cider, and 2 double bourbons and a poutine to share. The food never arrived. One drink was a complete and honest joke! Gentleman Jack contained about a thimble full of alcohol. At first glance looked like the waitress and put down an empty glass. Upon closer scrutiny we were shocked and called the waitress to ask was this a single or double? She proudly told us it as a single...but even then I would have been embarrassed to serve such small and clearly incorrectly measured drink. The kicker was they proceeded to charge us $10.50 for an almost none existent drink. Shocking, shocking we will never return to this bar and do not recommend ever ordering anything else at Bar Waverly except water, a cider or a beer!!
Place is great. Hipster chill non pretentious. My main complaint is the big windows are all open but all the cigarette smoke from people smoking outside under the canapé right next to the window comes right in. Which is highly unpleasant. They might as well be smoking inside it was basically the same thing. Wish they would reinforce people to move away from the windows, even if it's raining outside. The drinks menu is small but sufficient, some local beers and cidres, some cocktails and a small assortment of bar foods (burgers, tacos). My burger was pretty good though. The truffle fries were delicious!
Came here for drinks and appetizers with some friends and ordered the bruschetta. The description had no mention of cheese in the dish and traditionally bruschetta shouldn’t have cheese, however there were cheese gratings in it when we got it. I’m a vegan but I don’t like to be fussy so I just let my friend scrape it off the top and ate it anyways, however was pretty annoyed it wasn’t in the description. Someone who were lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy would have had to send it back, so as it’s an allergen and an animal product, it really should be included in the description of the dish.
The burgers were definitely frozen! Went with two friends who were raving about this place. We all got burgers mine was dry and tasted off, gave my friends a bite and they confirmed. Got a replacement but it wasn't better. Would not recommend a burger here especially for the price of $20, they can't even make decent French fries which I hardly touched. Brought this up to the manager who tried to tell me they make their beef fresh and tried to show me the meat grinder. That means nothing to me, they grind their beef form patties and freeze them. Not worth the money or the time.
Very nifty, chill place with a fantastic vibe. It's not too big and not too small, and it was still fairly full (but not packed) with people on a Tuesday night. The music was very modern jazzy/luxury lounge, and the service was very friendly. The beer we ordered was surprisingly large and good, and their fried were excellent to munch on. I would recommend this place for a sort of quiet night out while still wanting to feel like you went out for the evening.
Neighbourhood bar with staff never the same. Been living around the corner for years and most of the staff have no clue who i am. Food is really disapointing and service is far from professionnal. (For example we are 3 and bartender takes order for 2 and comes back with 2 drinks while other guest waits...then the bartender turns around and starts joking with another staff member...we dont really feel like customers).
The service: 2/5 The waitress never bothered checking if the food was okay. Forgot the napkins. Forgot the hot sauce. Forgot to follow up if we need something else. The food: 2/5 The burger was dry and tasteless. It took 40 mins to come out of the kitchen. The fries were cold. The atmosphere: 2/5 Pretty cool looking interior. The music is too loud and quite basic. Not recommended.
I love the Waverly. It's such a Ubisoft and mile end staple. On summer weekend nights you'll see a terrasse full of lovely people drinking the night away. In week nights you'll see a couple at a table obviously on their first date. At the bar? A couple Ubisoft folks doing a late meeting. On Fridays? Well it's going away party for one of your colleagues! My Friday is coming ;)
Music over there is so good!!! RnB/hip hop...couldn't ask for anything better. Staff is super nice, the decor is not too bright but not too dark at the same time. If you want a more reserved area, they have a kind of booth behind the bar from which you can actually see the rest of the place. Only thing is that this room doesnt have speakers. Chill bar in general.
SO. Mark was amazing. I feel like the waitress we had was new and was nervous and forgot a couple things... (waited an hour for the wings and tacos) all good. Mark wasn’t our waiter but really knew his stuff and made our group feel important. The place looks nice .. you can dress nice or cozy. The vibe is in between. Will come back even tho the new girl was meh:)
I would avoid this place at all cost if you just want a place to have fun and get drunk. Each time I went to get shots it’s different price… The very last time I went they doubled the price, so I asked the bartender how much each shot was. He simply said you asked for these many shots and left. To me it felt like the bartenders are taking advantages of us.
Extremely expensive bar. Half a pitcher of sangria and some pieces of fried chicken in a small fry basket cost 46 dollars (with tax and tip). For those prices, I expect better quality, better decor, ambiance and music. I went here because ten years ago, when I used to live in Montreal, it was a pretty fun bar with decent prices. Not anymore it seems!
Very cosy bar with friendly service. There’s a variety of liquors, cocktails and beers. The lighting is just dark enough and even if it’s gets a little noisy, it’s never overwhelming. The music playing in the background is usually more indie and laidback. Overall, a pleasant spot for a date or hanging out with a large group of friends!
We were there sitting at a table for a little more than 10 minutes and the servers just looked at us and walked right on by. For more than 10 minutes! And the place wasn't even busy as it was when we passed by 2 hours earlier. Smh. Yeah, terrible service. If I could, I would have given the place 0 stars.
A quaint location. It had a wide variety of drinks. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was lite with dimmed lights and music playing in the background. Showing up at 9 I ended up unintentionally staying until closing. Well worth the visit if you are in the neighborhood.
This place only accepts cash and credit cards which annoys me. I went on a Wednesday night so my expectations weren't too high. Bartender was slightly rude aggressive but drinks were provided and I just drank the night away to forget about my date. So the bar did what it needed to do.
The place is very cool and the atmosphere is amazing but i agree that it can be extremely loud so if you want to grab a beer and chat with a friend i wouldn't suggest that place, but for big groups it's perfect. A bit expensive but nothing outrageous! Overall I really liked the place!
I have been here 4 times for drinks with friends and for events hosted by business networks. I liked my experience each time. Both the beer and cocktails are good. The staff is professional. The place is clean. Mixed crowd of hipsters and local professionals. I would go here again.
Great drinks and fun atmosphere. The only issue is that the servers are happy to help you until you want your bill, or you want another drink.. literally stared right at us, we waived our hands and walked passed us to help other people. It’s not a big place, that can’t be missed.
Pretty cool bar, they have a good variety of drinks. If you love gin like me you'll enjoy their selection. Vibe is hip and relax, music is not too loud and lights are dimmed. Their food is great, I had a cheeseburger plate and I was impressed. Their fries are very good.
Good Cold beers, chill staff, good clientele! It's 140 am, kitchen is open, bar is packed on a Wednesday and I got my food ( poutine pulled pork) and beer, in under 5 minutes! How does it taste? Rad! I'm stoked.. Kitchen open until 2 am!! Even better!! Check it out.
An interesting neighborhood bar, good music, diverse cocktails but not really worth the effort to visit. Nothing out of the ordinary great service and easy to hangout at. I would not go back to if in the area but would go for some drinks. Not go here out of my way.
Fun place with a really cool vibe. Was pretty busy on a Tuesday night, but not so much that you couldn't hear each other talking. I very much enjoyed it and will be coming back.

A very cozy athmosphere with dim lights and a lot of seat available. The staff was agreeable and worked fast. The drinks were done correctly, no mistake that I noticed at least. I recommend for anyone who wants to drinks in a great environment.
The ambiance is super drinks were good the burgers were the worst I ever tried to eat. Talk about a hockey puck with horrible seasoning. Would not recommend whatsoever for food. If looking for a place to relax and have a drink go for it
Good atmosphere, great nachos, good beer selection if not a little pricey for craft beer selection. However, service lacked attention. Table adjacent was served twice in the time we were sitting with empty glasses and finished plates.
Good food and service. And to boot, they are extremely dog friendly. Cauliflower was amazing, burgers were tasty and a big hit with the younger crowd. Good selection of beer rounded out the evening, definitely would be back.
Very good drinks and friendly staff. A nice place to go with friends and hang out around good drinks. Their kitchen is currently closed so they let you bring food from outside to bring back and eat. Overall very chill vibe
Local Bar popular with the Uibisoft and Film crowd. A little loud, but reasonably priced drinks and beers on tap keep us coming back week after week. Summers the bar opens up all the walls and introduces a terrasse.
Pretty packed and crowded, usually long waits for drinks. Food is a lot better than what you would expect. It gets quite loud even when all windows are completely open. If you like a really informal place, it works.
Cozy bar. Bit noisy like any other bar. Hipster ambiance. Limited drink choice, which helps choose faster. Friendly staff. Very little alcohol in the drinks, not sure if you are having a drink or a juice..
My best friend and I are visiting from Texas. We have the drink south side which is called and Eastside here. Got to say my best drink in Montréal. Love this drink with life!!! Great team of people.
Chilled out unpretentious Mile End bar with a great beer selection and awesome staff to match. Buzzing atmosphere with the after-work crowd, and great for weekend afternoon relaxing with friends.
Nice place for a first date. Casual, chill. Service could be a tad long... but it will leave you some time for a conversation. Fries are great! Beer selection has really decrease since a while.
Great drinks, great music, and some fine ass ladies - can’t ask for more. They were playing hip-hop music so you already know I was rippin’ the dance floor with new moves I learned on Youtube!
It's a nice and quiet little bar, good place for an after work drink after dealing with coworkers that give you a migraine

Busy bar with very good cocktails. A bit cramped, but worth going there for a few drinks with friends. Staff was nice and readily available even when the bar was crowded, so kudos to them!
The vibe was really cool, the staff are super friendly and the lighting is excellent. But damn, the food is dead average and honestly over priced. If you're not gonna eat, it's great.
Probably my favorite bar in Montreal. The staff is supper cool, the ambiance is great and the location is ideal. Although it gets busy, the waitress will still come check on you.
The food was sad, there is no other way to describe it. Wouldn't go here again or recommend it. Service was fine, the bar itself looks cool but yeah, sad and overpriced food.
One of my favorite bars in the Mile End! Vibe is nice and there’s a terrace during the summer. Come here for drinks but I would skip the food as it is pricey and very average
Nice spot in the neighbourhood. It's cosy, the drinks are good. The food comes fast. There is nothing incredibly special about the spot but it's nice for a 5@7 in the area.
Overpriced. Uninspiring small portions and very slow service. Food is bland, at best. Never will visit again and would not recommend. The ambience and the music are OK.
Great pub food, atmosphere and service. The fries were amazing.

Busy, nice decor, good music, but the place smells like grilled cheese because of the kitchen and the beer tastes like dirty tap that hasn't been cleaned in months.
Great spot! Love the paper plan cocktail and the fish cakes were delicious too

My go-to pub to cosy up to a hearty stout or a few cocktails on a cold Winters night. Warm atmosphere, friendly service. Drink tip: Try the Mile End Ice Tea.
A nice local bar that has a nice quiet atmosphere. Doesn't have the best quality wine and service is a little slow but I would still recommend this place.
Super friendly staff and a really pretty spot! The terasse was quite enjoyable and some good drinks! Great for dates or to have a good time with friends
Everything about this place is great (music, service, drink selection, atmosphere) except the fries that are excessively salty! Like really really salty
Great spot in the Mile End. Many drinks to pick from and nice atmosphere on busy nights. Although, I have not been since the new ownership change.
Great terrace and location. I expected pub food, but I was surprised by how delicious the fish taco was. I want to eat it again two days in a row.
Great local bar, my favourite poutine! Though they crank up the music at 11pm, which can be a bit much when you were just having a chill evening.
Had a great time there last week. Sat at the bar and had a fantastic meal. The place was lively and energetic. Look forward to going back again.

Nice place I use to hang a few years back started going on the terrace a little bit more these days. Really enjoyed it hope you will too!
Great drinks & great vibe. Order the espresso martini here you won’t regret it! Only drawback was they did not ask for vaccine passport.
Good vibes and good service. Went there for a birthday party for a friend and we had great time and were well served for over 20 people.
Offers a great environment. Music is house and sometimes latin. They have a huge selection of cocktails. Crowd id say is 28-40 average.
It’s a cool place to drink and have fun and enjoy your time! Staff are welcoming kind and polite. Drinks are good and food is perfect!
Has an awesome little space with benches and chairs behind the bar for larger groups and a terrace outside as well. We were 9 people.
As soon as I entered, I really liked the ambience. Sat at the bar had a few beers and I didn't find it too expensive which was nice.
Nice place. A bit noisy but that is expected for a bar, right? I recommend the burger - nice portion and the Mayo is awesome.
$26 for less than 100ml of wine and two tiny glasses of sprite. Check took 20 minutes too. Not even busy!

Overall good selection, not amazing. Good ambiance and lighting. Pricing is fine. $9 ish for a good beer. Good date idea.
nice music. trendy place. love the drinks they offer and the food is great too. cool place to chill after a busy day.
Hamburgers are splendid and the ambiance is cozy, warm and very cute. Great for a date or just a night with friends.
Nice cocktails with a comprehensive selection of liquors. Not a lot of options on the menu, but the food was great
My wife and I stopped by for cocktails. Friendly staff. Great vibe. Amazing cocktails. We will be back!
Nice place to go with friends. They now serve lunch. I like the food! It's good! The staff is nice. :)

A lovely bar and the bartenders were amazing! I highly recommend this bar
Great bar, just be warned for us old folks, at prime time it's loud.
Always a good time at this place! Really nice vibe and cool music!
The new vibe is gucci but the fries to salt proportion is off.
Such a fun energy here, the kitchen closed a bit early
