The Queensland Holocaust Museum is a must see if you are visiting Brisbane's CBD. It tells the story of the persecution of the Jews and other minority groups in the lead up and during WW2. This Museum is a place dedicated to the memory of all those that perished, survived and saved many during the Holocaust. Upon entry we were given the "low down" by a super friendly volunteer on all the info that we needed for our visit. The museum is laid out is an easy follow story line with a number of Discovery Pods where videos (some very emotional) complete the story. Museum volunteers are on hand to help out with any enquirers. Tip: The entry is on the ground floor, the museum on the 1st level which is a flight of stairs down to the museum. A lift is available for easier accessibility. Tip: Check out the video Queensland Holocaust Museum on ROAD TRIP'N Face Book page if you are after a complete tour. This is a "must see" Museum in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. ROAD TRIP'N www.roadtripn.blog

This was a profound experience. We were immersed in both the history and the 'feel' right from the moment of entry. I have visited with a group with a tour guide as well as taking time alone. Both were advantageous. The guide was knowledgeable and a good communicator who brought stories alive. This worked well with the quiet solitary visit so I could take time to absorb the enormity of it all as well as the heroism.

A creative use of an atmospheric space to present the history of the Holocaust, with specific reference to stories of survivors who came to Queensland, through their personal items, artefacts and recorded testimonies. Definitely worth a visit. Would be excellent for an excursion for Year 10 History unit on World War II and Year 12 Modern History units on Germany, 1914-1945, or Genocide and ethnic cleansings since the 1930s.

I really liked I could go at my own pace. I was not hurried by visitors to read and see each Museum display. I will return to read the displays I rushed as I was in my lunch break from work. Will recommend to family and friends. We must never forget the fate of millions of Jewish people. The guides I spoke with were very passionate about the Mueum.. Well done to all involved.

Thank you to the very helpful staff. The Museum is well organised, the displays are clear and easy to follow. Personal experiences of survivors and the virtual reality display add an extra dimension that cannot be learnt from history books alone. It is a vital lesson on the tragedies discrimination and hatred can create.

Very interesting. Pods were too dark and Information to small. Otherwise well worth the visit. We all need to be reminded of what humans are capable of. Extreme hatred and the strength and resilience of those who withstand and are able to live a fulfilling afterwards. Shalom.

Detailed presentation which was powerful and moving. A lot of work was put into the displays, descriptions and monuments which poignantly told their stories. Highly recommended to anyone who love to remember this emotional encounter in history. Thank you for the exhibit

The museum has done so much to carefully explain the events of the holocaust in a way people of every age can understand and absorb, putting events into context so Australians can see why it’s integral to Australia’s history. I am so grateful the museum is here.

Such a beautiful and moving space that really instills the gravity of the experience. Such a great layout that takes you through life prior to, during and post holocaust. Love seeing the stories of survivors making a life in Queensland. I learned so much.

Visiting the Holocaust Museum was a sobering experience. The extent of the vilification of the Jewish people should be known by all. I would encourage everyone to visit and experience the horror of the Holocaust evident in the extensive displays.

I found the museum extremely well presented. Having visited many overseas Holocaust museums, the information and videos were very informative. Although, it is still on a smaller scale to many others, I was very impressed.
