"Nice facility and really nice fitness area"
Lots of pros before I get into the cons. The positives are: -Great changing facilities that has a very nice locker and shower set up! I thank OSO for introducing me to the red flower products. -Staff is very, very friendly and approachable. The climbing classes are good as well and recommend them for pointers and starters. -The climbing walls are great and I appreciate that they change them up often but not too frequently to allow time to build up to them. -The yoga classes are really good. -The cardio section is a bit small but there’s still a good amount of equipment so I didn’t complain much about that! -They offer a lot of community events. And now for the cons (again there’s very few but…) -Despite having a lot of community events, it’s a very clique-ish environment. Most people are not wanting to make friends and instead are bringing their own friends so you’ll see a lot of small groups in the climbing area. This was annoying because these small groups often took over most of the climbing walls. So I definitely didn’t walk away thinking it’s the best place to make friends….instead I walked away thinking it’s the best place to bring your already existing friends. -The strength and conditioning area is really, really good. However, whenever they do Boot Camp classes they tend to take up a quarter of the area and even take some of the free weights. So it made it difficult to come work out without being cognizant of when the Boot Camp classes start. Overall a good experience. I highly recommend it for solo climbers or if you want to bring your friends! But I don’t think it’s the most welcoming environment to make new friends as much as it markets itself to be.
Whatagym, I feel very welcome and safe here. It’s a very fancy gym♀️, but the culture and atmosphere is chill. I’ve had moments at Summit where I felt uptight or cramped , but OSO keeps it real. I mean there’s a sauna and a small bar. There’s also not summer camps and kids everywhere, thank god. The staff pays attention and cares, and the routes are set very frequently. They bring in new route setters pretty frequently and it keeps things fresh. Sometimes I just go there to relax or shower because often it’s a mid point between my house and job or party. They don’t have potato salad or coleslaw but the Slow Bone is just down the road. Sometimes I empty out my chalk bag and fill it with popcorn chicken and it gets the fake rocks all messy gross! You’re also in the design district, so this is a great place to exercise and clean up before you gallery hop. And if you forget the combo on your locker, just nicely ask someone in the shower to get an employee. It’s happened to me so many times and I’m so embarrassed, but the staff ensures you that it happens all the time, (it’s just me) I will be in only a towel and having to try to call the front desk or bugging other climbers.
I would live at Oso if I didn't reside 45 minutes away. Out of all the climbing gyms in the DFW-Metroplex, Oso is hands-down my favorite! The facility opened up about a year ago so it's very new. I love that everything is so clean and well maintained. The problems here are pretty fun. Oso scales by ranges (v2-v4, v4-v6, etc.) so it can be hard to gauge how difficult a problem actually is. Because of this, I've run into some very difficult easy problems and some very simple hard problems. Now when I come here, I just climb. The wood walls simply make me happy! The space is large so there are spots to study, play board games/piano, and chill. I think they actually have a coffee bar upstairs - no one was working it when I was there. The actual fitness area is pristine too. The equipment are very new and they have all the necessities. I would totally work out here on the days that I'm not climbing (if I had a membership and lived nearby). I seriously cannot rave about this location enough. Day Pass: $22 + Tax Monthly Membership: around $60/month + tax Note: Their membership comes with all access, fitness classes, and so many fun events! P.S. A one-week free trial is available for new guests on their website. Highly recommend trying out the gym! P.P.S. Check out the bathroom here. You will be amazed. P.P.P.S. Their rental shoes aren't great. Bring your own if you can.
While this gym has a nice look and new equipment it ultimately is a half baked and over priced climbing gym compared to its competition. For anyone who wants to focus on climbing you'll run out of routes at your skill level after one climbing session and have to wait a week at a time for only portions of walls to be updated. For people who want a mix of climbing and gym workouts they would be better off paying the same price to have a membership at another climbing gym and a regular chain gym. Anyone wanting to try this gym on a trial basis should also beware as they force you to terminate any membership in person and do not warn their patrons of this policy in what is a clear plan to earn easy money from people who are caught by surprise of this policy and are unable to cancel in person before the contract automatically renews. The safety at the gym is also questionable because unlike other climbing gyms no waiver was given to me to sign and the staff did not ask if any orientation was needed. The music in the fitness area is also problematic as it is often extremely loud to the point that it is hard to tune out with your own headphones. Much better options work for your fitness needs in the DFW area.
Nice facility and really nice fitness area. However, lacking in lead and rope climbing, which is a pretty essential part of climbing and doesn’t warrant a $90+ membership with only one location. ‘Bouldering only’ gyms spawn an enormous amount of Gumby’s who will never learn to build endurance, climb outside or understand proper safety. Nor will they ever have a chance to experience the joys of climbing tall routes and taking in the breath taking views at the top of a route. But whatevs, to each their own. As far as the “community” given its location you may encounter an influx of rude pretentious city kids who believe bouldering is the only kind of climbing that exists. If any part of this review triggers you, then it was definitely meant for you. The owner of this gym doesn’t seem to take criticism very well based on his responses to slightly negative comments in the reviews as well as on social media, as I have seen them bad mouthing other gyms before the facility ever opened. If you are looking for a good gym with many of options around the metroplex I highly recommend joining Summit as they have many gyms around the dfw area and in Oklahoma. I also recommend ‘Movement’ as an alternative as well.
If you're military or may have to move due to occupational responsibilities, FIND A DIFFERENT DALLAS GYM. I decided to call before coming in today to sign up for a membership, so I can confirm if they still had the same policies from when I first inquired in January. Every time I have to sign any contract, I make sure to ask about what happens if I get orders to move because I'm active-duty military. Not only was the lady I spoke to unfriendly and kept saying "do you understand what I'm saying" condescendingly over and over, but I was basically told that in the case I receive official military orders to move or deploy, I'm left to my own devices in contacting the general manager and will basically be at that person's mercy whether or not I have to pay to break contract. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE LIKE THIS FROM ANY GYM in my 6 moves in the past 10 years. Was excited about the gym and their Yoga offerings before, but that associate and the information she provided turned me off this place completely. Thanks for saving me the trip.
OSO is a large, indoor bouldering only gym. Their reading system is based off colors instead of actual grades. They had a good mix of easy to difficult routes. Most of their walls are vertical or slab with one section of overhang. I found that a lot of their routes were set with people with taller frames in mind and I, as a shorter individual, had a difficult time sending some of the easier climbs. The route setters at OSO also tend to set routes where you'll be relying on your feet a lot. There is a full gym with a good number of squat racks and machines. It looked like some fitness classes were being held while we were there as there was an instructor with students going through drills near the back of the weight training area. There is also a cardio section on the upper level of the gym with various cardio machines. The facilities are clean and well kept. There are lockers rooms, full bathrooms with showers, and gender separated saunas at the gym free for use. There is also plenty of parking on premise.
Let me start by sharing that I had never been rock climbing before OSO nor had I ever been to a gym. My husband and I went to OSO one day because it was close by and it sounded like a fun, indoor activity on a hot summer day. It has been almost two months since then and we are hooked, coming almost daily to rock climb. The facility is modern, spacious, and clean. They offer lots of activities and classes. But what makes this place amazing is the people. Everyone there, all the employees, instructors, and members are so kind. They create such a welcoming atmosphere. Shout out to Jared, Blake, Leigh Ann, and Kyle for always being so cool. Extra shout out to Nick for helping us improve our techniques and giving us so much confidence! Plus one more shout out to Antoine from I Am Lifted, who somehow managed to get me to start working out! We're new to Texas and don't have much family here, but coming to OSO has given us a nice sense of belonging.
I’ve been to many many many gyms in different countries and cities and yet this one was by far the BEST BOULDERING GYM EVER! Like holy f*ck. Staffs are all friendly and professional, special shout out to Blake who made my first visit absolutely amazing. Fun tour, and thanks to you I got my new fav set of climbing shoes! :D The routes here are so fun, it’s set by J.H who used to set for competitions, the routes definitely makes you think a lot and it was more challenging and super fun to solve than other gyms, and they have a sauna, yoga room, super clean and spacious changing rooms, giant fitness room, chilling area (did i mention a piano Lol) and everything was top notch no kidding. I would highly recommend getting a membership here, everything’s new and shining clean, amazing covid protocols, amazing staff members (especially Blake -! ) this one’s the best gym in Dallas! (Sorry not sorry summits and other gyms). So yeah, go climb here! :D
I automatically get intimated of the idea of gyms. (I went to another climbing gym in DFW Metro and everyone was pretty skilled at climbing already and it wasn’t too diverse) There’s always new to advanced climbers at OSO. The meet ups can help you find your “people” that are on the same skill level as you. I’ve had cheap gym memberships (in the past) and never used them. Oso doesn’t try to upsell personal training sessions, merch, or other BS that $20 gym memberships do. There’s new routes, events, and meet-ups to keep you coming back. It’s a 3 in 1 gym (the traditional gym, climbing gym, and the studio upstairs). The staff is nice, Sarah and Jared are dope. It’s always clean. Accepting of LGBTQIA+ and black people. Pro/Con: Not really a place for young kids . With the bar upstairs and the proximity to downtown, they do cater the gym to adults rather than children. No kids running around is a pro for me but can be a con for parents.
I don't write reviews, but this place deserves it. Simply put, the best climbing gym in Dallas. 1. The routesetting is top notch. From the easiest routes up to the hardest I can climb, the movement is thoughtful and diverse. They take care and pride in keeping their holds and walls clean which makes an enormous difference. 2. Amenities. It's more than just the great workout equipment and the sauna, it's the little things that all gyms SHOULD do but many don't, like good hand soap, hot water, clean bathrooms etc. 3. Vibe. The vibe is great. Art on the wall, lots of natural light, employees that care about the gym, and lots of OG Dallas climbers that care about the local community and climbing scene! For new climbers I can't imagine a better place to get started. For long time climbers, I feel that Oso strikes the balance of being a climbing gym for climbers first and foremost, and doesn't feel like other gyms that commodify climbing.
OSO had me OH SO impressed the facility is practically brand new, and feels so clean whenever you first walk in. I was acquainted with Alec the Asst. General Manager, and he was such a kind liaison into the gym. Had a great walk through, safety talk and introduction. Came in around 3pm (gym wasn’t too crowded) and had one of the best leg sessions, cardio, and climbing trio workouts in a while. This gym has it all! Can’t wait to come back and give the yoga and fitness classes a try aside from the bouldering wall! The hang board and tension boards were phenomenal. The way they decided to build this place makes so much sense and has such a nice feel to it. From the workspace and top floor bar and coffee shop on the mezzanine. To the elevated cardio section, (beautifully lit by these windows). It was a truly special experience. I wish I lived in Dallas so I could come to this gym more often. ✨
Before I moved to Dallas several years ago, I used to climb. Our neighbors told us about OSO, and we joined after the first visit. It is exceptionally clean for a bouldering gym. They have a sauna, weight room and fitness classes, so it makes for an all around solid choice for a gym. What really makes this gym great is the people! The staff are incredibly warm and knowledgeable. There are meetups of all kinds, and it’s easy to meet and make friends here. I can’t recommend their climbing technique classes. Rhea, Blake, and Daniel are wonderful at breaking down climbing mechanics and helping you read a route. Blake is always spot on with his recommendations and has helped me improve a lot. The coaches for fitness classes are great, too. Bonnie never fails to exhaust me with her workouts.
Super cool place, extremely nice and clean with tall ceilings and new everything. Lots of seating for having a snack/lunch or doing some work. The bathrooms were crazy nice, no gross gym showers many climbing gyms have. The setting was pretty solid, a good mix of traditional and more modern comp style setting. I wish there were a few more problems for a gym that size they really let the routes "breath" and didn't stack many on a wall. They also do a big grade range for their problems which isn't a huge deal but it makes it a bit harder to get a good dialed workout in. My only real problem with the gym is how warm it was, there are a lot of big windows and no fans so it got pretty sweaty even though it was only like 70 out. I wouldn't want to climb there in the middle of the summer.
I have been working out at Oso since it opened with Taylor Roberts, one of their coaches/personal trainers. To start the gym is wonderful - spacious, always clean, great staff, and all the equipment you could need. I admit I don't climb, but everyone who does loves it. I have been working out with Taylor in both semi private and private training sessions and he has impacted my health both physically and mentally more than I could have imagined. He's very well versed in everything having to do with your body. I am currently stronger than I have ever been and feel great. I truly look forward to our workouts. I've seen him transform people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and genders. Working out with Taylor Roberts has been one of the best investments I have ever made for myself.
This place is awesome for climbing! The walls aren't that high, but there are no safety harnesses. There's only a large mat below the walls. This makes for a great free climbing experience! Membership prices aren't too bad considering that they include the gym next door. Those also yoga Pilates and other classes that they have daily. They changed the walls up every month, so it keeps you on your toes! They have a professional rock climbing guy set up the walls. The paths are all color coded by difficulty. There are seven or eight difficulties. Shoes are provided for climbing. And there is a nice sauna and bathroom with showers. I definitely recommend this place as a fun event for a group or if you just want a new experience!
This gym has everything! I’ve been for climbing and for workouts - each time was a great experience. Very clean facility, comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. I’ve been working out with my trainer, Taylor Roberts, for about 9 months and was so excited when he started training at Oso. If you’re looking for a trainer that pushes you, makes you stronger, and is well educated in health and fitness, Taylor is perfect for you! In only a few sessions I noticed a difference in the way my body felt and looked. I was mainly doing yoga and cycling classes before, but didn’t see real progress until I added these workouts with Taylor to my routine. Can’t say enough positive things about Taylor and Oso!
By far the best gym in DFW. Not just as a bouldering gym but as a fitness gym. Free weights, yoga classes, hitt classes, meditations, boxing, all the machines, saunas - just to name a few. This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. It feels like a spa every time I go into the women’s locker room. From the scent of the hand soap to the cleanliness of the showers. I feel right at home. I haven’t even mentioned the best part: the people. The community here is so warm and loving. No egos, just friendly high-fives and words of encouragement. The staff never seem to have a bad day and the members are all extremely good looking Catch a day pass or just sign up! You won’t regret it
My wife and I moved to Dallas to work for about 7 months and OSO became our home. We'd come early in the morning, or late in the evening and they always treated us like one of their own. From the gym, to the bouldering to the community, OSO is truly a special place. Alec, Juan and Kyle are just a few that stood out to us the most and grateful for their hospitality. Routes are changed almost weekly, you can find their IG page for the route setters and you can gauge which walls will be altered. The workout gym is extremely clean and a nice open format. Even if you don't boulder, just go for the gym. Check them out, you won't regret it.
This is the most welcoming, friendly climbing gym experience I’ve had in a decade of climbing at over 20+ gyms. It’s clean, has everything you need regardless of ability level. The setting is excellent and the color coding keeps it easy to understand. And I don’t even love bouldering. Big shout out to the gal at the front desk yesterday evening—you were gracious, easygoing, and clearly engaged in making it a welcoming, simple experience. Climbing can be a gentrified, cliquey sport, and what it needs most is friendly, unpretentious folks like you. Thank you for being that, and they should be paying you more.
New gym for the Dallas area. I was told they opened during 2020 and figured out how to make it work, very rad! The place is clean, staff is friendly, routes are fun. But of different energy than I’m used to but definitely can’t knock points for that. Would need to go more than once and see the community more before any judgements. Lots of extra stuff in the gym, in the bathrooms, etc they definitely want you to feel like you’re getting a little more value for your membership here. — I’m not sure if this will replace my daily climb spot but I’ll give it a couple more tries for sure.
Oso has become a second home for me and my venture to a healthier lifestyle. The gym is always clean and the staff is amazing— they take pride in seeing their customers get to the next level. The gym offers many classes from climbing, weights, to yoga. The gym features a sauna, showers, lockers, a kilter board, weight room, and aerobics area, and free bandages when you get scraped up climbing. The gym has bouldering beginner routes, all the way to v10++ extremely technical routes, no rope climbing, but there is so much more to offer here than just a great climbing experience.
This gym doesn't have any top roping but that's okay, top roping is climbing with extra steps. The gym portion/weight room was one of the best I've seen in any climbing gym. They have all the equipment you could want (dumbbells, mace, clubs, foam rollers, etc). The climbs are very fun but there aren't a lot of walls to choose from. Just pick a hard route and keep projecting it or check out the moon board! I can't think of any bad things about this gym except maybe adding more climbs and filling out some walls, but please visit if you have time!
I am impressed with OSO. I love Bouldering Project in Austin and Minneapolis. I've checked out other places in Dallas and I was disappoint to not find something similar in Dallas until I found OSO Climbing. First, I want to point out, staff members are friendly and welcoming. OSO, sauna, fitness gym, clean bathroom, and yoga. As for the movement set, they are challenging and fun, it's not big. Members at OSO compare to Summit are more warm and friendly which makes the atmosphere definetly have positive vibes. RECOMMEND and I will come back!!!
OSO has amazing facilities, kind and welcoming staff, and great routes to climb. They’ve thought of it all when it comes to this place. The fitness area is top notch, I would even say it’s better than some gyms that are purely dedicated to the conventional workout. They have a beautiful yoga studio, free lockers to keep your belongings secure, and a hang out spot/bar with a great drink selection. My husband and I can’t stop thinking about the place. The only thing we wish is that they would build an OSO in Abilene, TX or expand to more areas.
The variety of classes here is absurd: traditional workouts, spin class, kickboxing, salsa & bachata, yoga, sip & paint, tattoo specials, chess, cycling, hiking, etc. They even had a mario kart night once-- wish they would bring that back! They even have space to climb! It's an amazingly quality experience! Everyone who works in the gym seems to have a personal investment in the experience of the members. Reminds me of chicfila service vibes-- except way more laid back and personable. Visiting always adds quality to my day!
Great climbing gym! Friendly helpful staff. Large bouldering (only - in regards to climbing) area with lots of different types of problems for all skill levels and climbing types (static, dynamic). Most of the problems are in the overhang type wall, but many areas including balance type walls. A day pass gets you access to the bouldering gym and very large cardio and weight gyms. Very clean changing rooms (the whole gym is quite clean and well maintained) with showers and combination lock type lockers to keep your valuables in.
This place is a must and you will not be disappointed!!!!! I was a member for over a year and moved far away, really missing this place. Yes it’s a climbing gym, but really sooo muuuchh more… My top things: 1. IAMLIFTED classes- they are so motivating and will make you feel like a rockstar after. Miss these more than I ever thought I could miss a workout class 2. Gym equipment- they have every you ever need 3. Locker rooms- they are nice and have a sauna 4. Rock climbing Can’t wait to visit Dallas again to come back here!
As a total gym experience this place delivers on all fronts. A big yoga studio, a giant fitness room, and a cardio level with a bunch of different machines. In terms of climbing, the gym is pretty small and the density of climbs is low. The movement in each set is really fun and there's diversity in the setting but the grading felt soft. It's a young demographic so if you need a place to meet others its great. The amenities are nice: showers with fancy body wash and shampoo/conditioner, a sauna, and day lockers.
A good selection of classes to try for fitness variety and great facilities. The locker rooms are clean and I love the sauna. The showers with soap/shampoo are great and I am glad to have the water bottle refill stations. The staff is nice and welcoming and the ownership seems to have a great heart, very inclusive environment, supportive of other small/minority owned businesses and good to the earth. Although I am probably 10-15 years older than the average member I still feel welcomed
Not a seasoned or advanced climber (up to V4 if anything) but this is one of the cleaniest and we'll space rock climbing gyms I've been too. It has a nice and well equipped gym facility as well and it looks like it's always people inside the facility which says a lot. The staff are friendly and the bathrooms are clean with showers and sauna. Prices for only rock climbing for a day is I think about $20+ so may want to think of getting a membership. Overall I would rock climb here again!
I am someone who has STRUGGLED with finding a gym where I felt comfortable, motivated, and excited to go to. This gym has hit the mark in so many ways! Love that they provide instructors with the membership to learn better techniques for bouldering. But absolutely LOVE the instructors. Currently go to Justin and Cao and love their approach to strength training. Clean, very friendly, and love all the classes/community building opportunities they offer. Highly recommend.
$22 day passes. Huge, super clean bouldering gym. Lots of routes though I do feel like their V0 - V2 routes were harder than I’m used to. Overall a great little stop on our travels through Texas. The day pass includes shoes and they had some chalk we could borrow. The real star of the show is their “gym” area and the locker rooms. Both looked incredibly clean and the gym had brand new equipment and a lot of it. Great gym, wish we had one this great in San Diego
A wonderful climbing gym! The facility is clean and modern, and the restrooms are clean and luxurious. The staff is friendly and the routes are creative and fun to climb. I wish I had more than just one session to spend at the gym, but while I was there I was told there are a lot of community events which is always a plus. Will definitely stop by again next time I am in Dallas. :-) This is by far the most impressive climbing gym I have been to so far!
Love it; definitely worth the price! Everyone’s really nice (both the staff and gym-goers), the instructors are very helpful, the place is well-maintained, and there are problems (which are periodically changed) for all skill levels, even absolute beginners like me. And it’s not just a climbing gym; they also have a gym, yoga and fitness classes every day, a sauna, and social meetups. It’s my first month here and I definitely plan on renewing!
Phenomenal customer service and a incredible bouldering gym. This company genuinely cares about their clients and employees and are exceptional when it comes to customer satisfaction. As for the gym, there’s plenty of bouldering puzzles to figure out! It feels never ending but in a good way, and if you need a break from bouldering, they also have a great gym set up! The bathrooms are also beautiful, clean, and modern. Thanks Oso!
This gym has been a blessing to be a part of during the past year of craziness. They maintained strict guidelines during the height of the pandemic in order to allow members to climb/workout, but safely. The staff are all very welcoming whether it be upon arrival, mid-session, or even as you walk out the doors they are there to give you a wave. Well worth the cost of membership and so thankful to have found this place to "hang."
I can't say enough great things about OSO. First, the facility is gorgeous - it's apparent that it was made with love and care The people who work here are always welcoming and there's something for everybody. Weights, all kinds of yoga, even a Shuffle class?!?! and all kinds of fun seasonal events. The one tiny complaint I have is the guest wifi goes out sometimes. It's a gem in Dallas and well worth the membership.
I love this place! I seize every opportunity to recommend it. The facility offers the perfect experience for both new and veteran climbers, while being welcoming to all. The staff is exceptionally nice, and their commitment to cleanliness and safety is why I continue to be a part of the OSO family. If you're seeking not only a great community of people but also a place to grow personally, OSO is where you belong.
This gym is absolutely amazing! By far one of the nicest facilities I've ever been in. The climbing area is massive with just about every climbing option available. The fitness, cardio, and yoga areas are clean and beautifully organized. The staff at Oso is one of the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met. The value you receive for your membership rate is unbelievable. I can't recommend this place enough!
Amazing facility, cool and friendly staff, and something for everyone. Whether you're wanting a gym to lift weights, do cardio, climb, or take classes, etc., OSO has everything. It's also a very inclusive community. I recently got into climbing (I'm still pretty bad, lol), but I've never felt judged and there's plenty of routes for everyone of all skill levels. 10/10 across the board, I love this place.
This place is amazing! Where do I start? There are walls for days to climb, everything is top quality and super clean. I also have enjoyed having a full gym and classes to enhance my climbing endurance when I'm not climbing. Oh and the staff is always super helpful and energetic. I love the atmosphere, the meet ups they have make meeting new climbers and friends so fun! You've gotta try it!
Love this place! The location is great because I live in the Design District! Every single staff member is so nice and offer feedback to beginners like myself. My boyfriend and I signed up for a year on our first day because we immediately loved the vibe and what they offer (fitness center, yoga, stretching area, good hours, nice merch) even if we have never climbed before :)
LOVE THIS GYM! Everyone is so accommodating and friendly. Even the members are very friendly and non judgmental. People are more then happy to help, be it in the fitness area or working a project climb. Ample room to sit down and charge your phone or laptop while you rest for your next climb or just get some quick work in. Definitely worth every cent. Can't recommend enough.
This is a great gym. I've been a member for awhile now and have nothing but good things to say. Friendly staff, incredibly clean, fully equipped weight room, a yoga studio, and even a bar now. The bouldering wall has a good variety of routes for all ranges of skill and the routes are changed at a good pace. Very friendly atmosphere as well, the community is really good.
Amazing climbing with incredible variety of bouldering routes. Great full workout gym & bathroom/shower facilities -well kept & clean. OSO Staff helpful & friendly, & made us feel they we genuinely happy to serve us as members. (Other climbing gyms that act like they are doing us a favor, & seem to forget we are clients) Great experience & definitely coming back soon!
Fantastic experience with this gym. Two different sections of the bouldering walls were updated while I was here for just a week. Great pricing for a week membership. Weight training section was quite pleasant and had plenty to offer. The staff was extremely pleasant to work with. If I'm ever back in Dallas I will be back to OSO. Fantastic climbing environment here.
Started climbing for the first time just 2 months ago, and all the staff and many of the regular climbers were incredibly helpful and encouraging. Now I go multiple times a week and there are always plenty of fun and challenging routes, as well as great classes and community events. Highly recommend Oso to any climber or anyone who wants to give it a try!
This gym is great. They have a good variety of setting styles. Good for beginners and advanced climbers. The walls are smooth unlike most gyms (less bleeding) . The pads are amazing; the seams are basically non existent. The employees are top notch in service and climbing advice. They also do a great job with covid protocols. Check this place out!
Great bouldering gym! Weights area has everything you need for a good workout, it's clean and everyone does a great job of wearing masks and being respectful. Pro shop has all the necessities to get started and the gear is high quality. The routes are fun and challenging and plenty of walls to get different slopes and angles. I love this place.
I’m from out of town, and like to check out local climbing gyms when I travel. The front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer! I was ready to pay for my day pass, when instead I was offered a free week at the gym. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly- a truly inspiring environment. I’ll definitely be back when I pass through Dallas.
There's no other gym in Dallas like this, it's truly a unique experience to climb, workout or just hang out with friends. Their fitness area is top notch! They have some proper weight lifting gear like power racks, free weights and high quality accessory machines. Staff is super down to earth as well, you'll love it here.
Had a great time climbing at Oso. Being from out-of-town it was wonderful to get to climb at such a modern and clean gym. The setting was great and there were things for both beginners and advanced climbers to tackle. This would definitely be my home gym if I lived in Dallas and I would gladly come back for a visit!
Awesome GYM! The incredible wall climbing is definitely the main attraction but this place has it all. Very well put together weight room and functional training gym, cardio machines, beautiful locker rooms, great hangout spots, a BAR and lounge overlooking the walls, friendly staff and more. Great job team OSO!
Stopped in to check out OSO for a day. Day pass costs $22-23. Lots of routes to boulder. Nice setup with two sides of the facility to boulder, gym room with equipment, really nice yoga studio, and upstairs seating space (with boardgames available). Overall, would get a membership here if I were more active lol
I've been to a few bouldering gyms. They all were friendly and professional, but Oso takes things to another level. Their routes were all really interesting and presented some unique challenges I'm not used to facing at an indoor gym. Beautiful building and gym, who knew indoor climbing could look this good?
Climbing is fun most expensive gym in the area and they continue to raise prices and front desk is very rude. When asking about prices and membership deals we heard about the comment was “you don’t have to climb here” with a rude tone absolutely ridiculous will not be climbing here again.
Great time climbing here; not first bouldering gym I've been to. Very clean. Super friendly and helpful staff. Awesome amenities, though the steam room and shower are closed for covid-19 safety. Routes are well spaced, helping keep safe distance between climbers. Really fun experience.
Awesome spot! Clean facility, great vibe, challenging problems. I visited with a group of friends and assistant manager Rhea (sp?) gave us a tour and the space is amazing. Most of my group was novice to bouldering and a few friendly members gave us pointers. Definitely plan to go back!
This is the gym that got me into climbing. I'm only 4 months in, but the staff are always amazingly friendly and the facility itself is incredible, as well as extremely clean. I can't recommend this place enough. They have a fitness center, yoga classes, and climbing classes now too.
Having climbed in bouldering gyms across the country, I can confidently say this is my current favorite. The facility is clean, problems are so fun, and the workout facility is top tier. Excited to call this my home gym for the next month. Thanks for doing what you do so dang well!
Best decision I made for my health and fitness goals for this year. This gym is PHENOMENAL. Not to mention super clean and furnished with amazing amenities and equipment. You’ll find the friendliest people and staff here. All around perfect gym for climbing and strength training!
I’ve been climbing for a couple years and this is the nicest gym in Texas hands-down. Great for beginners and great for advanced climbers. Plus the sauna & the full weight room with turf is a blessing. The Staff is very friendly and will help you with anything you need.
Incredible new climbing gym, very beautiful, clean and high end amenities like a sauna and locker rooms with showers. The problems are really fun! Staff is super friendly. They also have a yoga studio (not open yet) that is stunning. So excited about this place!!
First visit. Super friendly staff, tons of boulders, definitely a busy gym but doesn't feel crowded due to the size of the gym. Great bathrooms, and a full weight room. I ended up signing up for a membership and they credited my day pass to the monthly cost
We came in from out of town, it was a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly. We tried a yoga class and climbed after. Marcus had a unique style and it was definitely a workout. I would highly recommend Oso and I look forward to returning.
Loved the gym! The walls are a kind of rough texture which I wasn't expecting. It give you more grip to work with but you can also scrape ur knees on them. The people who work there are nice and helpful. Just wish their memberships were more affordable
Super nice facility with lots of space and great staff members (Alec and Matt especially). I do have a couple major problems with the way the gym is run though. While the setting is pretty good with a wide range of problems in both beta and
This is my second time here and the first time I ever tried rock climbing of any sort. The staff is great, friendly and professional. I honestly haven't ever been in a Gym of this kind. I am excited and will join soon. Love the people there.
FANTASTIC GYM. So many bouldering options. I love it! The community here is what really makes it special. Everyone I've met here is so friendly, kind and welcoming. They all cheer you on when you're climbing no matter what level you're at.
As an avid climber who travels for work and has visited 20+ different climbing gyms over the past twelve months, I can confidently say, Oso is the best among them. This place has it all; creative and challenging route setting, a welcoming
Great, new, clean gym. Staff were nice and helpful. The grading was supercool. V4-6, V6-8, and V8-10 worked really well for us. The gym uses circuits where all the climbs at a similar level are the same color. The workout area is very
Great gym! A bit pricey for a singular gym and they don't have too much for training walls outside if a kilter board and a great campus area. They do however have some fantastic setting that pushes for interesting and creative moves!
Staff is so helpful. They were so kind and understanding towards me as a first timer. Super clean, they follow COVID guidelines, everyone wears a mask inside unless you're upstairs using the cardio equipment. 10/10 would recommend!
Since the moment I walked in I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff that showed me around and get familiar with start/finish marks in the climbing gym. A amazing gym it blew my mind definitely worth the 2 hour drive.
Oso is the best gym I've been a member of. Vibes are great. Routes are amazing. Everything is super clean and everyone is super friendly. Y'all make it look easy, but I know you're working hard, and it is deeply appreciated.
The atmosphere here is friendly, and in general people are considerate and have good etiquette. It's located right between West Dallas and Uptown in the Design District so it's mostly populated by young professionals.
Staff were very nice, descriptive and helpful. The gym itself is clean and has everything 99 percent of climbers/lifters would ever need. If I lived in Dallas this would be the only gym I would go to. 5/5 recommend
My love for this space grows every week!! From incredible staff, the amazing activities that go outside of the walls. Am I feeling cardio, a yoga class (best instructors), butt kicked in the weight room
Awesome place to workout at! Choose from yoga, rock climbing or weight-lifting. The facilities are super clean, the employees are friendly and the new bar area was well needed Great concept! …
Very fun spot. My friend brought me here and we spent about half a day just climbing and hanging out. The easy courses were fun and the next levels were a bit challenging. Definitely want to come back
Oso is a great gym. There is a sense of community. From the rock climbing set up to the various classes and exercise area, all great. The view of downtown and friendly staff is a plus.
The whole package - great bouldering walls, gym, classes, and sauna. Everything is really clean and the people who work here are excellent. Can’t recommend this gym enough.
Great gym. Bouldering only. Day pass is 27 ish dollar including shower, locker, workout room. There's even cleaner and bandage. The community is top rate
This place is GREAT. Clean facility, friendly staff, and an incredible layout for spending the afternoon, getting more done than climbing.
Great climbing spot with a solid gym and yoga studio. Very clean and spacious. Staff are amazing and friendly as well.
Great gym, lots of bouldering, very clean. We really appreciated how friendly the staff was.
This is a great climbing gym with super friendly staff and an awesome training gym as well
Excellent facility and great staff, esp class instructors. Also good value for price.
This is a great gym. I recommend it to everybody...10 stars if I could.
