I have been coming here for years. I now live in Inwood, and STILL come here for my RX's, why would I change? They ALWAYS have my medications, when I first started taking something for migraines, they informed me of the side effects, as well as some other tips to manage migraine symptoms. The whole team knows their stuff! And they are efficient! And they are FRIENDLY!!! In this current crisis, I worry for small businesses. One bad month could be the difference between opening your doors and shutting them permanently. We as New Yorkers cannot let this happen! SUPPORT YOUR SMALL BUSINESSES! During this time, I really hope we don't all get lazy and used to ordering everything from Amazon. Get out and keep the TRUE economy going, and that is small business. I called on Monday to get my prescription filled. A lovely, calm voice answered, even though I know she had probably spent the morning, and the week before, being overrun with requests and frantic questions, etc. She never made me feel rushed, never came off as frazzled, which I would find completely forgivable, and just told me when to come by, and wished me a nice day. This is what we need! PLEASE SUPPORT ALL YOUR LOCALS!! This would NOT HAPPEN at a Duane Reade/Walgreen/CVS whatever. No offense to the people who work there, but those are corporations whose answer to a corporate board. You are not their first priority. At Oak Park, I always feel I, the customer, am their number one priority. And they have a great selection of other things, too! Can't beat the location for convenience. This place is the best! Stay safe, all.

EDIT: I called the pharmacy and the customer service was wonderful. They are refunding my money and will appeal to my insurance company. They explained that 99.9 percent of the time, any insurance will cover these vaccinations so that’s why I received the vaccine before they contacted my insurance company. Everyone was really nice. Beware! I stopped in for a flu shot today, they collected my health insurance cards and proceeded to give me the vaccine. THEN they tell me it’s not covered by my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket, something I’ve never done as I have excellent insurance. Apparently, this pharmacy does not participate in my plan. Fine, but tell me so I can go to CVS or another participating pharmacy

The woman (matriarch?) always in rear of the pharmacy watches you as you walk around the store, like you're going to shoplift. If you need anything from the pharmacy she is very unfriendly. I stopped for a vaccination and she ignored a polite greeting. At the other end, the woman cashier is clueless. Handles loose masks for sale with dirty gloves that have been handling money. Gets mad if you tap your card without *telling* her you're going to tap you card. She asked a 40 year old, Are you a Senior? The woman left almost in tears. There are other options in the neighborhood.

I've been wanting to write a review of Oak Park Pharmacy for a few years and have finally gotten around to it. :) I've lived in Vermont for the past 18 months, but prior to that I lived in Windsor Terrace for nearly 10 years and used Oak Park as my pharmacy. Jack, whom I believe is the head pharmacist, is incredibly knowledgeable, informative, patient, friendly, and kind - in short, he's hands-down the best pharmacist I've ever had. All of the other pharmacists and staff were also wonderful. I miss this pharmacy and wish something comparable existed here in Vermont!

Cannot recommend Oak Park highly enough. I love the staff and Mohammed so much that I travel out of my way to go to them. They know me by sight, are so kind and fill prescriptions faster than anywhere else. They also look out for you and apply coupons and advocate with insurance to get prescriptions covered. On the random occasion they needed to order something special for me, they got it within 24 hours, as opposed to CVS who had nearly a week long wait.

I made an appointment for my second booster and they turned me away even though I had a diagnosis letter from my doctor and hospital . They rudely explained to me I needed a letter directly from my doctor with my name and approval to get my second booster shot. But clearly my diagnosis letter had both my name and my doctors name along with diagnosis . I promptly went to CVS were I got my booster right away.

The lady that works the front is racist, I was in the aisles for maybe 2 seconds looking for something and when I walk back she is in the process of leaving the register to watch me. On top of that she interrogated me about my purchase saying "You could have gotten it in the front" when I was obviously looking for something specific. All I'm saying is if you're a POC just avoid this place.

I transferred my Prescription to Oak Park Pharmacy. OMG!! What a mistake!! The medications we're given to me in different sizes and colors inside the same prescribed bottle!!?! Is that even legal?? I had no ideal whether the pills were proper dosage; or if they were the precribed medication!! Obviously, I returned their "drugs" and returned to my Professional and Trusted CVS Pharmacy.

Rude cashier. Threw her hands up in the air and shrugged her shoulders while saying, “Oh well.” Informed me I was a penny short to make the $5 minimum to use debit card. So I bought a lollipop. She could have handled it a lot more professionally. I already had a migraine and this exacerbated it. ☹️ (Not coming bac; not that she will care.)

I walked in with my partner and we were in the store for no less than 5 min for urgent health care needs before one of the pharmacy associates came over to watch us. I am Black and I am deeply offended. Not to mention their products are 2x more expensive than CVS or Amazon. WILL NOT COME BACK!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I’m new but very impressed! Impressed with the quick transfer of scrips and personal on it service. They get the details! The bottles are small instead of the gigantic bottles my pills used to come in. Is a sense of detail that shows up. So far so good buying local! It’s the upside of my provider changing

This is one of the best Pharmacy's in Brooklyn or in town for that matter. The staff is very efficient and helpful to all that come in to patronize. I have been a customer with Oak for many years more than 20 my mom also. I would highly recommend them. For me Oak is the best.

Great local pharmacy. The pharmacist recognizes me on sight and knows my medical history better than my doctors, even catching an interaction between two prescription from my GP and a specialist. Can't recommend them enough.

  • Billy Talen

The people at this pharmacy are neighborhood people. The feeling is the opposite of the corporatized Walgreens, CVS etc. They are kind, relaxed, smiling. I will hope that this pharmacy stays on Prospect for a long time.

I've been using Oak Park since the early 90's. They are friendly, smart, and they know their customers well, meaning they actually know them; their names, ailments, and family stories. It's a great pharmacy.

  • Mister Coffee

Fantastic pharmacy department customer service. I regularly need a Rx from a specific manufacturer and Oak Park has made the extra effort to obtain it every time. The peace of mind is priceless.

Please don't go here if you black, they will not let you in. They said we was not dressed up enough, but you let someone of a lighter skin tone in with jeans on
