I was extremely sad and very disappointed about today’s terrible shopping experience in Hobart Myer. Let me first describe the process of the matter. I saw the facial spray I wanted to buy on the shelf, but there was only one tester on the shelf. I found no sales person around. I look around and found there is one sales around the perfume shelf. I didn’t shout it out in the shopping mall so I waved at her, waving to signal her to help me, then I told her I only saw a tester and would like to ask if there is any available goods in the drawer below. She answered me almost at the same time that I had just finished speaking, NO. I asked her if she could open the drawer below to see if it was in stock. She was obviously not happy. I guess she may be not willing to bend down just for a little thing. She opened the drawer and there was something inside. Her facial expression was a bit ugly, and I believe she felt embarrassed because she answer “NO” so quick to customer without checking first. Then she opened another drawer herself, I don’t know why and had another bottle inside again. Then she asked me how many do you want,I said one. Then she took the bottle to the checkout counter. She asked me, do you have Myer one card, I said yes. Can you help me find me in the system (because I don't remember my card number and It is not in the my wallet). Just then, she said "you are rude" to me with a bad temper. I was obviously scared. I don’t even know what happened during the process. Her name is Monica and I was really being upset by her. I understand especially at this time the year, sales person can be tired. But i don’t think she can act so awfully!! And at the time I was waving she is not busy but just standing with another staff and talking. I don’t know what was wrong, whilst i have to bear this such bad temper. If i done something wrong i would say sorry to her. If she acted inappropriately, i hope i can get a sorry from her. This is the only horrible experience i have got since i was shopping with Myer for many years. i was really being upsetted and i am heartbroken.
October 2022: not much has changed, except the weirdly named "Hurricane Sale" which seems a little poorly named given the destruction experienced in the wake of Hurricane Ian in the Americas atm... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 2022: Still running strong. Great sales on atm. Maybe that's a result of tightening purse strings, but it's a bonus for clothes shoppers! Update November 2020: I've upgraded my score from ⭐⭐⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Myer Hobart is now fully operational in their new premises. Their Menswear section still fails to compare with the ladies range, however it is still much better than the previous incarnations of the Hobart Myer story. The new store is free flowing, fresh and always kept in perfect repair. My only gripes are the loss of the County Road range and the missing Jack Wills range for men. They've added the ladies range, however neglected to add Jack Wills to the men's range. I'd shop here more if they added this to their local offering. April 2022: offerings have improved, staff have also improved (at least in Menswear and Homewares). A pity the Jack Wills has been removed. Cosmetic team are always friendly as you pass through the ground floor, with the exception of the two older ladies (from the original store) on the desk to the right of the C&F entrance, who snarl at everyone (young and old) with evil stares every time you walk past, as if the ward off having to offer any service or assistance. This makes walking towards the watch section through to the Icon Complex unnerving and uncomfortable every time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jan 2017: Maybe a five star rating once the store is fully rebuilt. Range isn't what it used to be. Menswear range is very poor. Bring back the basement.
I visited Myer Hobart at 4pm on Saturday 16 April 2016 with the intention of purchasing some gentleman's aftershave, as I was uncertain which brand I should try I ask a female sales assistant if there was any samples available to try as I have been able to try samples before not only at this store previously but at other store across the country. She flatly refused and said they didn't have them. I felt like I was not even worthy of being speaking too ,i was intimidated and disrespected. This was a full faced lie! I The attitude and response I received was appalling. She treated me with distain and condescension, questioned if I was a legitimate customer and left me belittled and aghast at the level of so called customer service. I have been to many other Myer stores across the country and had decent courtesy and excellent customer service. For any male to visit these cosmetic counters require a high level of confidence in the first instance but to encounter a aloof and patronising sales person is the worst experiece3 I have had in ANY departmental store and without question I have never had this treatment before. It is little wonder that the Myer organisation is floundering in it business as it is certainly not assisted by ignorant and superficial staff who seem to be only interested in posing and pretending they are fashion models. I will be writing to the organisation in general to register my views on this matter and suggest that the individual be dismissed as they are a poor representation of the Myer name.
Went in yesterday 18/6, Myer Hobart, and picked out a linen jacket, just not in my size. Lady who served me was polite and helpful, but suggested I go down one floor to the customer hub, to see if they had my size in another store. This is apparently the role of aforementioned hub. So I wander down, stand at desk and wait. Another lady eventually wanders over and asks am I being served. If so, we've now entered the age of telepathic service. I answer no, but explained that the pleasant lady upstairs sent me down. She looked at me, paused and then asked me the pertinent question.....why did she send you down to me. I know what your thinking. Could you have possibly asked.....how can I help you? Oh no!! Why not waste my time by asking why I'm wasting more of my time coming down to check. So, instead of explaining myself, again, I left the jacket on the desk and left. Said customer device hub lady can waste her own time, in what little she has left in it, once Amazon gets here. And we wonder why retail in Australia is as dead a fried chicken. And it's no doubt on your in store cameras, so do yourself a favour and look it up.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICES - Name of staff Dyllon Steet - Casual Menswear: Comparing Myer customer services to London + Dubai + All over Australia and other countries. 1. Product knowledge: 5/5 2. Friendly personality: 5/5 3. Efficiency: 5/5 4. Helpful: 5/5 5. Call back: If the client calls the Myer store for the update of the order/ delievery time - He will return the call and is well prepared with the updates. This saves time of the client. He makes sure that the sale transaction is completed from the day order is requested to the final transaction. Through out the process he will make sure that a follow up call is made to the client and the delivery update is provided. 6. Respectful to client: Extremely respectful to the client 7.Genuinely helps: He made sure that the luggage bags are dropped to the car parking - We have never seen so much genuine customer services that too when the Myer Hobart annouces close time. We have not experienced a staff serving the client to this extent. Very well done!
When I visited the Dior today to try out some blush, I encountered two Asian employees who were quite rude. One of them asked loudly which color I wanted, and ignored me. They simply left the blush on the table and continued chatting with each other. Despite the color being my favorite, their attitude made me hesitant to make a purchase. Thankfully, another employee noticed me afterwards. Monika served me today and she was so lovely and happy to help! She was so enthusiastic and nice the whole time and made me want to buy the product . I made sure I looked at her name tag because I was so impressed with her service .She was very considerate and polite, even helping me find a brush for the blush. I genuinely hope that my experience and feedback can reach the manager of Myer's cosmetics section, prompting them to address these concerns and enhance their service quality. I'm thinking of sharing my feedback on Myer's official channels or website.
We bought “CUE” wide leg pant. My wife notice it was defected after few days while she was about to wear. However we went to the Myer store to exchange it. “CUE” staff were very rude and doesn’t want to exchange that defected pant. “CUE” staff name call “Jackie” was to rude and unprofessional who have a zero knowledge about customer service told us not to buy any “CUE” product from next time in front of store manager and other customer around 1600hrs to 1640hrs on 21/08/2021. However store manager was really cooperative and helpful she did her level best to reassure us but sorry to say it doesn’t work we fell so embarrassed because of the behaviour showed by the “CUE” Staff name called “Jackie”.
There's this young dutch man named Chris in the kids/toy department. He is the friendliest and most helpful guy you will meet in Myer! Pretty sure he is one of the managers, every time I've needed help his there and goes out of his way to help me. I find when I get helped by others they do not go to the lengths this awesome human does! Now I go in and specifically look for him if I am looking for something or need help or even to say hi now as we are on name terms where I come in and he knows me and it is so nice and warming that he is so welcoming and helpful! Chris seriously is an asset to Myer please take care of him because he is super awesome and one of the reasons I keep going back!
I've given 5 stars as my teenager had me walking everywhere shopping so much that my purse was lighter and my feet were killing me and I knew that Myer was a portal to the car park that I so desperately needed to get too. It was a very shiny and clean store that was very, very bright (I even imagined their power bill) and there was a lot of people walking slowly in front of me, completely oblivious to the limping woman and sullen teen behind them. Thank you, Myer Hobart, for opening up in all different directions so that desperate people could make their bid for freedom from the arcade to the streets outside. Much appreciated.
Terrible customer service!... couldn't contact by telephone then finally after 3 days with 7 call attempts, the automated answering service was overridden by a 'real' person! However, in-store staff refuted and actually embarrassed me as I relayed this 'phone contact information!! This was in the lingerie department where previously, a sales lady 'Jan' had been extremely helpful and attentive. Myer, you need to shape up. When a floor supervisor doesn't give good service and is quite rude, there's little hope for 'good' examples being set to general service staff. Take on some European training!
This little store does its best, considering we are in an odious backwater that calls itself a Capital City!? Unless you leave to enjoy the wilderness, the little civilisation that is on offer, can be found in and around Myer. It is a modern little outpost of a store, for the backward town it finds itself in. I do recommend it! I must also mention, the gals at the Chanel cosmetic counter are some of the most gracious and knowledgeable representatives that I have come across anywhere! Ambassadors not only for Chanel, but for the Myer brand.
I had pleasant experience buying Clinique products. I was looking for right shade of foundation for my self and a lady came and gave me sample which she thought was the right fit for me. And, she was right and I ended up buying same shade for me after a few days.It would not have been possible without her help. She is passionate about what she does and provides excellent customer service. She is certainly adding value to her whole team. I forgot her name I think it starts with Chri…and sometimes she with other brand
I was very disappointed with the customer service I received while I was pregnant. I went looking for an evening gown when I was just over 20 weeks, only for the lady serving me to say that nice maternity clothes are a waste of space. No pregnant women should be told they're not important enough to cater for when they're already going through so many changes. There are many other ways this lady could have said no, including directing me to the online store. Instead, she made a choice to be rude and indifferent.
Me and my partner have never felt so uncomfortable having a look around a shop. The short security guard constantly following us around the store on the 27th of may clearly needs to leave the state if he thought we were the ones that were going to steal. Staff were the same. If you're going to make an assumption on people that they're going to steal (we never have and never will) make sure it's not obvious that you're staring at them. Everything we were wearing was from a myer store. Absolutely pathetic.
Myer is Myer, but this is more just feedback for the Hobart menswear section. What a ridiculous layout. You have the business stuff a million miles from the change room. It’s probably the stuff that needs the most accurate fit, and is definitely the most expensive clothing. So basically you are treating your high paying customers as sherpas having to walk miles for your convenience. Just food for thought next time you do a new floor layout.
Great experience buying new clothing, I've put on weight recently so I was clueless about sizes. The staff (2 of them together) went out back to find something suitable and to my liking. I was happy with the service provided from this and the pants recommended based on what I was after. Beautiful staff who are there to serve and do a great job at it. If you can get it at Meyer I recommend doing so because you'll be very pleased.
Always a pleasure to shop at Myers Hobart. Helpful staff, good selection of brands etc. and supporting local shops is important as otherwise they close down as demonstrated by Witchery this month....why have a physical shop when they can have lower wage expenses etc. and still maintain huge sales... I'll definitely be buying more in store than online from now on... supporting local shops will help main jobs for local people.
I tried to replace a pair of shades after 9 months which cracked along the metal joint. The staff were rude, condescending and suggested that I had used too much force and they could only offer me a new pair for half the price I had paid. The damage was obviously a manufacturers defect and warranted a straight replacement. I decided to buy a new pair of shades elsewhere rather than support an unethical business model.
Wish there was ) rating. Kids shoes department on Saturday was serviced by lady with Fitting Consultant name tag. She didn't measure my niece for correct size, she didn't even bend down to check for fitting. Then she was trying to tell us that shoes, which were at least two sizes too big, are perfect fit, because you want them to last for a while!!!! She was absolutely not trained for this job.
My go-to store. For presents, finding the perfect outfit or even getting my brows done. Myer is always the store I can rely on to help find what I need. The Myer Christmas Club has been amazing too - we saved up so much money through the year and bought heaps of stuff for our new home with it during the Boxing Day sales. Feel so much more relaxed knowing we now have those staple items.
I don’t usually write these reviews. However I’ve worked in customer service for 8 years now & I think lovely customer service especially in retail is harder to come by. So I feel it important to acknowledge when we do receive it as customers. I was served by Tenille from Stella at Myer this morning. She was so very professional, understanding, personable & oh so very kind. Thank you x
I love this store! Super clean and tidy. I always check online if stock is available before I go in. If it's not on the floor, ask a staff member (who are amazing by the way!) and they will be happy to help! Click and collect is good, but I don't like having to go to the top floor, it would be much easier if we would collect from a lower floor. Overall a wonderful shopping experience!
Please never shop online with Myer! Such a bad experience! I brought 2 branded shirts for husband’s birthday, paid online and received an email confirmation order and within 1 hour, I received another email to say that my order has been cancelled with no reason given, and I have to wait for 3-5 days refund for money to be re credited back to my account. Very dispppointed!
Received goods online that were broken, took the products in store, they happily exchanged the items with no fuss or issues. Amazing customer service, even happily checked all of the new dinner set with me to ensure the issue wouldn't happen again! will use the online store again knowing how easy it is to fix any issues, keep up the great work. Regards Beau
IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE ANYONE ANSWER THE PHONE!!!! THE MACHINE ASKS HEAPS OF QUESTIONS AS TO WHICH CATEGORY YOU WANT. AFTER DOING THIS THE PHONE FOR eg ACCESORIES, WOMEN'S WEAR ETC, THE PHONE RINGS 3-4 TIMES AND THEN CUTS YOU OFF. I'M BLOWED IF I'M GOING TO DRIVE TO TOWN TO SEE IF THEY HAVE. I'LL CALL HARRIS SCARFE. ALWAYS ANSWERED BY REAL PEOPLE!!!!
The staff Monica on the level one is so terrible. She is not professional and has no patience to customer. What is shame to Myer is that she is discriminated to Asian customers. We don’t understand why Myer has such terrible and uneducated staff. Less competitive pressure in Hobart allows such rude person to work in services.
We were staying in Hobart during the Christmas period & shopped in Myer a few times. Always found staff to be helpful without being pushy. When shopping for fragrance I was flat out finding any testers which were full. Lots of bargains in the fashion departments & particularly enjoyed the well stocked Review franchise
Orders online will take more than one week to be delivered. Once your parcel is shipped to their "partners" for delivery no one will answer WHEN it will arrive, but they will let you know via SMS. Basically, stay at home for 10 business days to ensure you will be at home whenever they decide to deliver it.
We were served today by David in the mens shoe section of the Hobart City Store. He was so helpful in showing us different shoe styles and sizes to fit what we were after. He was patient as we went through different shoes and had them organised at all times. Great experience - thanks David
The store was so full of clearance racks it looked like a discount store, we went to 3 different levels and weren’t greeted by any staff members despite looking for items, left not buying anything but we intended to as I needed a dress for a wedding and some foundation and went elsewhere
The staff here are great, and the layout of the site is pretty cool. Otherwise, it's what you expect from Myer - mid-teir to premium products, prices to match, solid markdowns on clearance items. The staff in the cosmetics section especially are fantastic and make it a pleasure to visit.
Went in to look at perfumes. Never have the ones l buy. They get a very limited range of gift packs in on special occasions such as Mother's Day. I used to purchase at least 2 different packs but since moving here can never get the fragrances I use, or wish to purchase for others.
Good store. Lot of brands for to look after. Staffs are always really really helpful. Lot of specials and discounts on items. But, the parking is the main issue. I really hope there were would be parking & I could give 5 stars. Always best recommended store to shop everything.
What even is 'click n collect'? You place an order that says it will be ready the next day.. 3 days later I still don't have a message for it? It said it's in stock so how can it take >3 days for me to pick it up? Clearly it isn't in stock and are just trying to take my money.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts to purchase a doona cover online a visit to the home/ bedding department was a last resort. Steven was amazing. He contacted a Myer store in NSW, a transaction was made and delivery arranged. Superb service from this young man.
Hobart,ts section amazing assistance. Homewares-asked a man for cake servers "no none left". Kept looking around desperate to find something and i find 6 perfect sets. Just turn money away hey! Bathroom cleaner was great though.. suit and tie cant buy care factor.
Rude customer service, nobody offering to help, and when I went to look at a product the individual nearby made me feel like I wasn’t worth their time. Would have more than likely spent a bit on products but was not made to feel welcome so I left the store.
SANTA was a pleasure to have photos with today at the Hobart store! He and his photographers took the time to make sure our photos with our newborn baby were perfect and we can't wait to share them with our families ❤ Very friendly and professional service
I use to love Myer for the variety of brands and the quality of clothing. I now find there is always a sale and many racks of clearance clothes in every available space throughout the store. I use to love Esprit, but sadly they no longer stock this brand.
Lovely looking store, but why, oh why put all the stinky perfume on the ground floor and kids toys (where people with prams go) on the third floor? Facepalm! Also charge top dollar for Items usually available elsewhere cheaper. Occasional good sales.
It is great to see Myers unveil its new exciting space. The new renovations are great & so pleased to see Myer stay in Cairns. The staff seem to be happier, approaching with offers of assistance. A credit to the team & a pleasure to shop with Myer
People were nice when i went to try on clothing but no-one to be seen when i went to purchase the items. Searched for assistants and waited for nearly 10 mins so left items on the counter. Sorry, but didn't have time to search or wait any longer.
I recently went to the Chanel counter to buy my Christmas gifts. The sales assistants customer service was disgraceful. She didn’t want me to use the perfume testers and put the lid back on the bottle before I could test it on my skin. Very
Myer in Hobart has the best team for customer service. Zali, for example, she is outstanding with her professionalism and friendliness. She helped me to return the pots that I purchased last year successfully. I was a loyal customer to myer
Feels like a giant box. Separated into a couple of levels. Hard to get around due to the bad design of the building and the placement of the escalators. The old building design (before the fire) was laid out better and much less sterile.
Full starts for the excellent kids toys floor staff, very helpful. But the beauty level was NO good, no one to be seen when you searched for assistance/when you tried to just buy the products, some brands just NO staff there at all..
Shame the staff were too busy tidying shelves to bother to serve customers. If you want it to be self serve put both shoes out so that customers don't have to inconvenience you. Not hard to work out why Myer is loosing market share.
Been a while, Haven’t seen Excellent customer service ! But Jase or Jason from Male clothing line nailed it. One of the best customers service representative i have ever seen in myer over the year. Jase is a Gem of Myer Hobart .
Love what's been done at this Myers, the public toilets are the cleanest in Hobart and the restaurant at the bottom of the building is really great for lunch. Wish they would do something like this to the Launceston Myers.
I had amazing service from Jan in Myer today! She was so patient, encouraging and knowledgable. I tried on practically the whole store and so many different things and she helped me find the perfect fit. So lovely :)
Did part of my Christmas shopping online for pickup at Myer Hobart. Holiday cancelled due to travel restrictions. Lady on phone promptly and happily sent the parcel to Sydney. Very friendly and pleasant service.
Your typical department store. Well stocked and predictable pricing. Also typically, staff hassle you when you don't want to be but you can never find someone when you need them. Quite clean and tidy though.
Terrible phone enquiry service. Guides you to where you want to go OK, rings once and hangs up. You cannot speak to an operator to find out what’s going wrong. What a bad downgrade from a human operator.
Myer is a classic Australian department store. It has been present in Tas for the last 60 or more years. I recommend this store for everyone because there is something they sell which suits all people.
Myer is such a huge store. It has everything you need from clothing to kitchen to babies to toddlers. Men's clothing. Perfumes. Jewellery. Make up. So many things. And staff are ready to assist you
I enjoyed my shopping there today. So shoes were on a special, but that is what I wanted. A very pleasant shop assistant assisted me with my selection of 2 pairs of shoes. Recommend shopping there.
Renovations have certainly improved Myer in Hobart. No longer does this feel like a dated department store. Has a contemporary feel with quality clothes selection of brands and other homewares etc
Bought a new pair of my favourite kicks. PUMA! A fantastic sale was on for all brands. Adidas,Converse & w few more. The pair I grabbed were a mere $70:00. Usually, around $120:00. Happy . …
Okay, the older ladies On level 3 I think needs to treat All customers like customers, not picking out the richest men as only worth helping and talking, not ignoring because I look cheap.
One of the largest selections of lego in any Myer I’ve ever seen all but one of the navigation screens were broken though but that just means you have to talk to their lovely staff
I would like to thank Myer for delivering my purse home, which I had misplaced some where in the counter. I really appreciate it and thank you for your great service ❣️❣️
The newly reopened Myer looks great but the product range is limited and the shop feels quite small, should improve once the Murray Street wing renovations are complete.
Fantastic service from Jakob in the children’s department. He went out of his way to be helpful, had a sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. A great store.
I must say I had an awesome experience today while purchasing Formals. The customer service was just super awesome, very helpful and kind too.Thank you so much …
Great service, helpful staff, lots of quality items for bargain prices (on sale), and they have super specials every Tuesday (accross different departments).
Huge range of clothing products for men and women! Very nice size store which is modern and feels very welcoming! The staff are fairly kind and friendly!
It's quite expensive and due to my noise cancelling headphones staff followed me and treated me like I was stealing. I had no intention of stealing.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Snapped up a few products that were on sale at around 50% off. Pretty happy about that. Will return.
Look people, it's Meyer. If you grab a sale item, then it is 5 stars. If you pay full price, it is 1 star. I've always found the staff helpful.
Well located, modern, fully stocked, attractive displays, friendly staff members...everything you would expect from this department store.
Great Department Store nice lay out and great range of products and specials if your looking for a special gift highly recommended.
Was served by a lovely woman named Rebecca she was so friendly and kind and we really appreciate her outstanding customer service.
Thanks to Manika, I had a great customer experience at Myer Hobart. She was so kind, professional and very helpful. Thanks again!

Love this Myers! Great bargains on quality brands and very helpful, friendly staff. 10/10 for the service given by Penny!
Very clean and well presented. Has alot to offer and some really good sales compared to other locations. Friendly staff
Stepped out to Myer Hobart and was reminded why online shopping's is so much better. Won’t shop at any Myer again.
Good place if you have got money. Couldn't find clothes for my size. The ambience is quite good and not very busy.
I just bought my favorite Lancome perfume here, and loved the service Lancome sales girl provided me! …
My experience in ladies wear was excellent. Not happy though down at Make-up and perfumery as need more staff .
Good sized Myers good range. Glad to see Myers still open here in tassie lots have closed elsewhere.
Big shout to Rebecca in the Estee Lauder counter who was not only super helpful but extremely kind.
Bought few branded clothes. Great customer service. They will help you what's on the discount.
Went to Estee lauder counter. They are so very and helpful. I will buy all my make-up there.
Amazing store, massive selection of clothing brands. Can't wait for my next trip.
