Poor customer service during the evening. I went to this Kmart after 11pm on Friday to look for a specific bookshelf that was in stock at New Town according to their website. I couldn't find it on the shop floor & had trouble finding anyone to ask until I spotted a young guy who works there. I asked for help to look for it, he couldn't find it or the ticket on the shelf & assumed it had recently arrived, but was on a pallet & refused to double check for me if it's in an easily accessible location in the storeroom. Told me it would be available on Monday, he had no pdt to check & couldn't be bothered trying to look or ask another team member who can be bothered, when I specifically drove there for it. When I got home I used click and collect & got the item the next day; it was ready before 12pm, so it was there when I came in the night before. The bookshelf still wasn't on display even though I received it, so they must just store it in their storeroom & not on the shop floor. I work in customer service & would've at least tried checking the back if it's there, even if it's on a pallet, especially for an expensive item to get the sale. If it's inaccessible under other items on the pallet, I would've let the customer know & apologise for the inconvenience. I would've also found a pdt & searched to see when it last came in & try to find it, but he was just lazy. He cost me two trips to their store when the item was out the back. Plus this guy directed me to the wrong location for another item I asked for, so he had no clue of the store layout. If anyone has to deal with their employees that can't be bothered looking for items, try finding another team member if there's any, save yourself your petrol & time. I'm giving 2 stars though as the lady at the service desk on Saturday was very helpful with my click & collect order & the bookshelf is great.

At my local New Town sore I spent a considerable amount of time talking to the sales assistants trying to find the best way to buy a double hot plate because when I made two visits to the store there were none on the shelf. I first was told they could not order it as it was not in the catalogue, so I went back another day. A different assistant told me that a large order had arrived but had not been put out yet, and to secure it I could use click and collect online. She could not do it for me at the store. So I tried to order it that night but the website told me that my item was out of stock online. There needs to be an easy way to find out first time how to order an item successfully, or at least be informed online how long it will take on order if Covid19 is affecting it's delivery to Tasmania from Victoria.

Dec 2019: Gone downhill since they replaced humans with robot checkouts. April 2022: Kmart has continued to go downhill when it comes to customer service. Granted, they're a discount retailer, however it seems the cost of human checkouts and good service isn't part of their income plan, oh sorry, customer service plan. The products have also reverted back to their poor design and poor quality, similar to their post 2015 operations. 2015 welcomed a new, quality range of products, that were both sturdy and of great design. Sadly the past twelve months has seen a decline in all areas. Hopefully we'll see the Big K revert to good quality items.

Their customer service is absolutely horrendous, they either never answer the phones or let them ring out long enough for you to hang up anyway. I’ve been on hold for about 20 minutes, all I want to know is if they have something in stock before I make the trip over. This isn’t the first time either. Whenever I go i I see at least four workers doing ‘unsafe workplace activities’ such as how they move the h-cages, they always pull them behind them with one hand so the cage fillings out to the side, I’ve almost been hit by a cage and the worker didn’t even acknowledge what happened. Very poor service in my opinion.

In the month of April . I was brought a new bicycle in the kamart store . After one week my bicycle tyre was flat . I was leave my bicycle in the store . After one week passed they give back my bicycle . Just only feel the air . also not any repair. Again , 2 days passed ago , my tyre was again flat they gave me a time on Tuesday. When , I call back again in the store . They said you will be coming on Thursday. I do Uber work on my bicycle. And I feel very bad and tensed because I have no another job. My have very bad experience in this store . The service is very bad . .

This place is so much better since it refurbished inside a little while back. The place always looks clean, neat and tidy. Having to self checkouts (one at the centre of the store and one at the front) makes it very convenient in busier times but they still offer clerks at the counter. Kmart is great for the budget conscious buyer and staff are always willing to help whether it be for locating a particular product or for returning an item.

Very cheap stuff to buy from here but I guess cheap comes with a price, questionable quality of products, which is not too bad, but customer service is the reason why I'm giving 0 stars (if I only could) staff doesn't have idea what's on the store or where to find what they do, and the guy at the exit checking tickets is very rude, he wouldn't even ask for the ticket, just take it off your hand.

Kmart Newtown is open 24 hours and has a good shopping experience. Spacious parking is available and plenty of lovely boutiques under the same roof. Some prices of products are not marked in order to check that is a task if you are looking for a heavy one. Most of the products are ANKO there, personally I don't like that, but prices are cheaper. A four-star shop in my view, cheers.

The K Mart is what it is I avoided the Christmas crowds by arriving at 0900 . Staff were busy shelving must have been a very busy weekend..... I thought restocking was done at night. Still the staff were very patient and polite My only real beef was that the manned cash registers were closed. I loathe self-serve checkouts and would prefer to deal with a real live person

I have to say, the new check out format is really not working for me. While I am sure there was research into this I still cannot fathom why you would check out in the middle of the store only to have to wait in line at the door so another person can check your bags. Maybe you save money this way but the customer does not save any time waiting to be checked at the door.

Great place, love the 24 hour. If you can't find an item, don't bother asking the staff. Chances are they won't know, and they don't bother searching it to find out if it's even in stock. 4 times, 4 different items, 4 different staff who were NOT helpful. "If you can't see it in that whole section, we probably don't have it". Great place if you know your own way around.

Easy shopping. Lots of room to move. Friendly helpful staff. I like shopping here, good variety of products at a reasonable price and reasonable quality. There is ways the money back guarantee that they have always stood by from the day that they first opened their doors. I have been shopping at Kmart Newton for over forty years. Still love it.

Nice place and great hours as they are 24hrs, so if you need that last minute item its definitely the place to go. Big variety of stuff and fair prices given its current competition. I accidentally bought wrong charger cable for my phone and also the Usb plug I bought was faulty both weee returned and exchanged with a lot of friendliness. Also lost my key but the team went out of their way to find it on a busy day. Very grateful for young people being so helpful :)

Kmart Absolutely the worst retail store "service" experienced ever. To buy here is a frustrating experience online special's are never available . Left in disgust I will purchase from Target or Big W even the Reject Shop anywhere that has some service and doesn't try to embarrass me or waste my precious Time.

Despicable store. Use Chrome, you can see stock levels per store but there is no click and collect on some items. Switch to edge and click and collect suddenly shows up on the same item. Choose click and collect option and the store with stock in chrome shows as no stock in edge and cannot be selected. wow.

24/7 hrs is convenient, what's not convenient is the wait times at the refund/entertainment/service area (always long queue). Particularly disappointed to wait nearly 20 minutes only to be told the item I wanted was not in stock despite plenty of cardboard shelf tags being out.

I was injured and had to use crutches and as I was walking in the clothes isle there was a bunch of clothes all over the ground and my crutches slipped and I landed on my sore ankle and all the workers were standing there eating and not doing there job and didn’t help.

Poor customer service. Don't buy anything that doesn't fit in a trolley otherwise you could be waiting a minimum of 90 minutes before you can get someone to help you at the loading dock because the can't hear the buzzer and are too busy looking like they are busy

24 hours a day! I realised I'd forgotten my wife's Christmas present, so at 10:30pm I shot out and successfully made myself the world's best husband. The website is great aswell, you can check to see if the store has what you want in stock before you go there.

Don't like the checkout and help desk being in centre, prices are already raised because of people that morals are wrong &steal from the store. Apart from that they've a great variety,and I bought several pieces of clothing for $1. Very helpful staff.

Kmart a great place to shop. I am used to bying name brand dress shoes. Ie.Hush puppies. Etc .not any more a lovely pair of dress suitable black 15dollars wow a LOVELY pair white type of sport shoe 12dollars both classy smart and incredibly suitable.

Basic shopping Centre . Good variety of stores . Avoid late night shopping , safety issue late night , Police are always called overnight to resolve issues . Rest rooms are always a disgrace !!! Good variety of stores , always plenty of parking .

The store is slightly bigger than the other one and the selection is also better. I couldn't find some jumper I was looking for anyway but it was reasonably organised and clean. The staff are nice as always and there was no cue at the counters

The good point is that there is 24h Kmart. When I arrived in Hobart was 7pm and I have nothing to live in my new house. When I find here it help me a lot which I can bought the necessary staff. And the price is good.

Always enjoy shopping at Kmart and always end up buying something, even if it's not the thing i went there for originally as there is lots to purchase for the home, yourself or your furpets

24/7 access is confident for us. Car park can be a bit crowded sometimes, and with the ramp it can be challenging to put your purchase into your car/truck if you bought some heavy items.

You can spend so long in here without meaning to, it has everything and is so entertaining. Many shenanigans occur and the staff don't care but it's to be expected of the stores nature
