If you arrive before the park opens, there are big gates blocking the entrances, so you can go across the road to Mission Pkwy Parking and see the quiet part of the riverwalk (this is what I did). This park is huge with many picnic tables and a huge paved circular loop. There's covered pavilions, bathrooms, a huge metal art piece with cacti growing atop it (that was unexpected and cool), and a brief metal bridge. There was minimal trash and I saw someone going around picking it up. This is a lovely park next to the San Antonio river with a lot of wide open grassy space.
Restrooms
I saw two separate tan buildings with restrooms, but only one was unlocked in the morning on a weekday. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper but not paper towels. But there is an hand air dryer that works. The sinks and toilets are both made of metal.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are allowed. I saw many people walking their dogs here. It's very possible to give other dog walkers a wide berth if yours isn't friendly, or if yours is too friendly.

I worked near this park for years but never visited it. I recently enjoyed the facility during the 160th Anniversary celebration of First Baptist Church of San Antonio. The main advantage was that it was large enough to easiy host 650 people. There were plenty of easily accessible picnic tables, and again, enough room to serve 650 pre-ordered dinners in a surprisingly short amount of time. I really don't know the square footage, but a covered pavilion with a huge ceiling fan accommodated enough seating for everyone. Lots of green space for games and sports is available, and a bike trail is nearby. For some extra sightseeing, the Hot Wells Springs are up the road on S. Presa. Update: 10/15/2023.
Restrooms
Clean restrooms available.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs welcome.
Picnic area
Pavilion and plenty of picnic areas.

I had a baby shower for my daughter-in-law there. It was great they turned the fans on and the electricity as well. Nobody bothered us. We just had a great time. The park is nice and clean. . The bathrooms were nice and clean. I give this place an A+!! The workers were nice and helpful.
Picnic area
The pavilion that we rented was pavilion 3. There was more than enough space for 30 people. The area was also nice and clean and well kept. The surrounding area was also clean and well kept nice walking trails as well.

Such a beautiful yet busy place. I tend to prefer the more quiet areas so on a personal level this park was not an ideal location although no one bothered me and I was able to park and enjoy the horses that were on the other side of the fence. Look like there was some type of horse show or something going on over there so that was nice because I miss my horses and horseback riding. Four stars is just due to it being very crowded which is a personal thing and no reflection on the facility itself.

I was nervous about renting the pavilion, however, I was very shocked not with just how well kept this park is BUT how beautiful it actually is. I had a few people at my daughters party ask me the information on where to rent it. For the amount of money being paid to have your party here, it is totally worth every single penny. So affordable for what you get. Beautiful park, i will be doing my parties here. The maintenance guy was also so sweet and helpful. Thumbs up!

This was my first time being here. I went to go see a pow wow performance. I was only there for about 45 minutes. At first glance the park looked clean and l liked the placement of the pavilion. The pavilion was larger than usual parks and had plenty of seating areas and stage area was large. I liked the open space surrounding the park itself, beautiful landscape and scenery. I would love to go back and see the park more in depth, it's worth a second chance.

This park was outstanding. The grounds were well maintained, seating areas/benches/pavilions were clean, and security patrolled the bike paths and trails via golf cart. The playground looked really neat, and partly shaded by tarps above which was a plus. Bathrooms are nearby, so definitely a place you can spend ample time with the little ones! All-in-all, this park is perfection. Family-friendly, safe, and sanitary! Would give it 10 stars if I could.

And my son one website that I can go to this Taco run race thing it's like a 5K and I run 5 case a lot with my girl and some I wanted this 5K it was pretty awesome the night the place was really sweet there was like a lot of space we could do things a lot of events that seem to happen there yeah there's like a lake close by some nice nice all nice nice benches trash cans seems to be very well maintained place so thank you mission country Park

Between the Mission County Park and the San Antonio River. With San Antonio River Authority - River Warriors Team cleaning up trash on the river. 360 picture was about 40 yards off the concrete trail not normally seen by passerby. This section was not part of the may channel of the San Antonio River but collected lots of trash. My thoughts it was it was due to a backflow from recent rains. Couple day ago this was under water.

Great walking and bike trails, friendly staff working at the park, A trail for everyone if in the mood for a long smooth bike ride that connects to other trails or a short morning walk is perfect, clean and well-taken care of the park and paths is comfortable and safe, also has playgrounds for the kids and benches along the way of the trails to sit and rest and clean restrooms, great park I would recommend to everyone!

  • Alma Linares

The first time ever Wounded Warrior 5K Carry Forward event was held at the park on Saturday, October 5, 2019. You either carried a flag, a back pack with weight in it or carry someone on your back. All ages of participants, including children in strollers received a medal at the end of their run or walk. Almost 2,000! Great fun and first time event! Hope they have it again next year!

  • Sineamon T

Overlooked Park with a lot of perks! This is the most well made park in San Antonio. This deserves more attention. Very beautiful view!! It is definitely one of the places I bring my friends who like to visit San Antonio. I rode many miles here. however, this place is not for beginner bike riders. the curves are narrow and requires great deal of attention.

  • Austin Munn

Clean and well kept with top notch facilities. I was really surprised when I went to this park for a school charity event. The pavillions are unlike any other I've seen a public park, very impressive. I haven't been to the Greenway trail system yet but I most definitely will, it did not seem anywhere near as crowded as the trail systems in the north side.

  • Eduardo Perez

Good clean place with good service. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for good Mexican food this is the place for you. But there is not really anything that seperates this place from many other good Mexican restaurants. I would go here if I was in the neighborhood, but I would not drive across town to go to this restaurant.

  • Lori C (Lori)

I have had great experiences here with exercise and just to relax. The park itself has a separate area for skating, track, Pavillions and a few restrooms. My only issue is that there are no public restrooms/port a potties that are open for us that go after 5pm. Other than that great photo opportunities, trails and wildlife.

  • Donna Torres

Place is beautiful and kept clean, only hiccup was they did not have our reservation and we had to wait for grounds man to ask family to leave and go to other tables, the family was accommodating, we r an hour and half late in decorating for a Surprise party. The grounds man also was helpful in cleaning area for us.

  • Charles Boltas

For a county park, this park is impressive. We setup for an event and we had plenty of space. There were food vendors, live bands, corn hole tournaments, and a playground for the kids. This is a great place to have a birthday party or any celebration. Make sure you call ahead and schedule your event with the city.

  • Ashlee Morris

This beautiful mission has been preserved with great care. Such a sacred place, incredibly rich with history. The short film was well made and extremely informative!
Restrooms
Clean restroom available at the front of the park.
Dog-friendliness
We saw dogs but didn't bring them personally.

  • Elver Gonzalez

A great place to come stretch out and run if your alone. Also perfect if your kids suffer from couch-patotoe syndrome this summer. Nature is calling you to come and rediscover its beauty up close and personally. Turn your TV off, put the phone down and come check it out folks. You will be disappointed.

  • joe ramirez

This is such a nice area for partys under a covered gazebo. The bathrooms were clean and so is the grounds area. Very easy to see from the main road and plenty of parking. This area also has easy access to the paved trial ways that can take you all the to downtown if you are walking, running or biking.

  • Jesse Elizondo

It was nice. clean restrooms, 4 huge pavilions and a nice huge full kitchen with 4 BBQ smokers fridge for $300 . Or you could bring your own pit. It's really nice. Handy Cap accessable restrooms, parking. They have a nice clean playground with a perfect view from any pavilion. Dog friendly.

  • Mikki Malone

When you park follow the stairs to the water and that leads to a hiking path. The water has a little walking path through it. The left side is calm n shallow, our kids were able to swim and our dogs too. The rocky side is where we went fishing and also found crawfish. It was pretty cool.

  • Ruth Rodriguez

It's a nice park to walk or take kids to playground or have a party at one of many pavilions or bike ride along the river there is also a bike air pump stand also has several tools you can fix your bike in case your bike needs a fix next to a shade stand with benches by the river.

  • Tyler Lund

A beautiful park along the mission trail and close to Downtown San Antonio. Rent a bike from one of the b cycle kiosks and make your way down the trail. The oath is pretty easy and the bikes are good for beginers. A very lovely way to explore the history of this beautiful city.

  • Jesus Herrera

Awesome park for walking, biking, rafting. Part of the river walk not many tourists know about this area, but the locals know it exists. Plenty of free parking at the park. Clean bathrooms are a plus. Then just enjoy the riverwalk the the beauty of the river.

  • Patricia Alamia

Wonderful park which allowed everyone (runners/walkers) a chance to socialize & encourage others to complete the WWP 5K event. I was so happy to get an nice breakfast meal-especially coffee-! I also enjoyed getting all the freebies before I finally left.

  • Jose Luis Moreno

Mission County Park is an excellent place to walk while enjoying nature. The river adds a peaceful atmosphere to the walking experience. There are several places to sit down and enjoy time with the family or simply read a book in a quiet place.

  • Rosalva 'Rori' Gonzalez

You can walk down to the river, Mission San Jose, the library, or enjoy a free movie at what remains from the drive in movie theatre. Amazingly great place. There are sometimes festivals going on in the park or performances in the charro arena.

  • Don Triplett

Beautiful landscape and a lot of gorgeous art along the trails. The trails all lead to different Historical Missions depending on how far you walk. Great place to run, jog, ride your bikes or if you're like me, a beautiful place to walk

  • Norma Ortega

Park is clean and well maintained. There are indoor restroom facilities for both men and women with wheelchair accessibility. The park itself is very big. Their is a pavilion with plenty of shade for events throughout the year.

  • First Lady Sims

Spacious enough to enjoy events there and take your dog Sometimes the cyclists do not let you know they’re coming up behind you though and you tend not to be relaxed sharing the bike trail with them just keep aware

  • Dan Nix

We were here for the Wounded Warriors 5K. All the facilities are new and well maintained including the bathrooms. Easy access to the River trails (all paved). Great place to host an even of this type.
