Extremely disappointed with the rude treatment I received yesterday. We have been buying cat food from there for MANY YEARS, 3 cases at a time. When we pick up the 3 cases, they order the next 3 for us which they hold. My husband picked up 3 cases last week. After our cat got sick from the food, (I noticed right away since it had a different consistency, previously chunks of fish, to now pureed food) , I then looked at the can, and saw that there has been a change to this particular food (1 case only). I called and was told, no problem, bring back it back. Upon entering the store, I was told very rudely by the girl at the cash, that this is the 2nd time my cat didn't like the food, and I can't keep returning the food, and this is the last time I can do this. I quickly answered that the last time I returned a case of food it was because your store sold me A CASE OF EXPIRED CAT FOOD. It was not because my cat didn't like the food. She's been eating it for 10 years. It was past the date on the cans. She did not acknowledge what I had said. As for the cat food that I was presently returning, I said that the company should have mentioned to them, and then they could have mentioned to me, that the formula for this flavour has been changed. She basically had no interest in anything I said, pretty much ignored what I had said , and repeated again that this is the 2nd time I'm doing this and they will not be ordering the cat food for us in advance anymore. Well, they have now lost a loyal and steady customer that spent at least $150-$200 every purchase we made. Unacceptable and rude treatment from a clerk. Will never go back there. Zero out of ten for customer service.

In November I got my first dog, and Little Bear was my store to go. I've spent over $900 between November and February 14th at Little Bear, and I'll never buy again at Little Bear. Customer service is horrible, the whole idea seems to be to sell the most expensive product, and not the product that would actually be good for your dog. I've bought FURminator medium size, I tried consulting customer service if I should get the large one since I have Australian Shepard, and I got no assistance from them. After first use I realised this won't work, and I went back to exchange it for the large one. Little Bear customer service said they don't take products back, which wasn't communicated when I purchased FURminator. So I bought the large one, and left my contact information because girl that works there said, they would pass it on to the sales rep of FURminator. 5 weeks later no one has contacted me. Horrible service... At Pattes et Griffes which is like 5mins away I saw FURminator for 20% less.

My veterinarian advised me to buy Royal Canin dental food for my pomeranians, so I decided to go to this pet store. Once I asked the salesperson (a french lady) if they had the dog food I was looking for, first she did not reply in English, kind of an annoying behavior when your costumer prefers to speak English and English is one of the OFFICIAL languages in Canada. What got me even more upset and makes this store deserve the lowest grade was her cynical answer when i refused to talk in french: "we don't sell junk food. Your veterinarian is just trying to get your money." Who do you think you are? Did all your salespeople go to veterinary school to contradict and bypass medical indications? I went to the store a couple times before this incident, but since then I am not coming back and I am advising all my friends to avoid doing business with you.

I have been coming here for a little over a year now and I absolutely LOVE the store. Not only do they have a large selection of high quality products (some that I’ve never seen anywhere else), the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and honest. They won’t push you to buy unnecessary stuff (even the opposite!) and will give you great advice on many questions. For example when I went last time, looking to change my dog’s food because she is a very picky eater, I was given many samples so that I could see which flavour she preferred. These little things make a huge difference in the experience and are the reason why I highly recommend this store and will keep coming back. Also, the website is very convenient and I’ve always had great experiences with the delivery, which is fast and efficient.

I discovered this store when i first moved to westmount. I like those one stop shops where you can get everything you need within one store instead of running around a bunch of them to find stuff. Despite being a smaller boutique they have loads of stuff in stolk and I always find what I am looking for. They know most of their clients by name which shows how many return costumers they have which proves amazing service. All their staff are extremely knowledgable on all their products and are able to recommend the best product for your pet. I love their huge selection of frozen raw meats and their endless choice in collars and harnesses. I am a big fan of this store and will be purchasing my pet supplies and food there for ever.

very disappointed. I’ve been buying cat foods at this store ever since I moved to atwater. I’ve always liked the varieties of goods that they sell, and how friendly the staffs are. But they sell expired food. I bought one food enhancer on OCT. 3, which expired on SEP.11 I found out this morning, and when I came to the store the staff told me it’s OKAY cuz the food last 6 months after they exited I just can’t believe what I heard, and how could they say that. They offered me refund, but that’s not the point. I’m shocked how CARELESS these staffs are. They check the date before they put them on the shelf, and that’s it? FOOD GET EXPIRED. Someday serious consequences would happen. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN

I have never been in a pet store where the owner was as if not more knowledgeable than a vet! They all seemed very knowledgeable and so friendly! The owner even looked into the other food ingredients I am feeding my dog online and gave us a whole background the bigger named brand as well as other possible causes for the issues I have been having. Gave me free samples of a different, grain free natural food to try and my dog LOVED it! She picked it out of her bowl and left the kibble she normally loves! I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves their pet! Amazing customer service all around! I live on the south shore and I will travel to go here! So impressed!

I have been shopping at Little Bear for the last 3 years. Their staff is so knowledgable and the inventory is always up to date with the latest healthy and safe toys for my dogs. The food selection is the absolute highest quality. The store is run by strong management who care about their customers. This is the family store you want to shop at, you know you are being listened too. The Owner Chuck is unbelievable, once he gets started on the best foods and toys for your pets, be ready for a heart felt passionate informative lesson, he NEVER preaches, he just informs. It is a true pleasure to shop at.

This is a nice local boutique type of pet shop. The owner obviously cares about the products that they carry, especially in terms of food. Most products here are have been vetted for ingredients that are not great for your pets. So don't come here looking for big brand pet foods. Consequently, prices can be higher than what people are used to, but you won't find these brands (Acana, Orijen, From, etc.) at lower prices in other pet stores. Opening hours are generally until 6 or 7 pm, so it can be a little difficult to hit up on a work day.

First time I’ve ever written a review in my life. The people there are knowledgeable, helpful, kind and the store has a great selection. BUT I bought a crate for my puppy, brought it home set it up and quickly realized it was too small. I called to ask if I could return it (keep in mind this was the same day, 3 hours after purchase my dog wasn’t in it for more than 10 minutes. They said no for “safety reasons” not sure what that means. I went to get a bigger crate at Mondu and they assured me I would have a 30 day return policy.

Went to Little Bear for the first time today in order to prepare to welcome home my puppy in the coming days. The team and owners were unbelievably kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They walked me through needs and items that are unnecessary in the first few weeks of a puppy's life from A-Z. They took the time to explain all of their recommendations and reasonings. I will certainly be returning to Little Bear for all of my animal needs! 10/10 recommend for anyone and everyone.

Knowledgeable staff, great selection! Our cat has food allergies, and we had been spending a fortune buying ingredients to make healthy food for her. Little Bear Animalerie has a selection of alternative food that is affordable, including the one we ended up purchasing. Frozen hamburger-like patties made of raw meat and bones that provide all the nutrition a cat needs in the most natural way possible. They also have similar options for dogs. I strongly recommend a visit!

The lovely staff at Little Bear were so accommodating when we brought our new dog in to get fitted for a harness and get some advice on treats and food. They really do have everything, the selection of necessities, toys, and pet Gear for both cats and dogs is really good. If you need a present for a dog or cat lover- this is the place to go. Plus there's parking right out front and you'll get personal attention and guidance from the time you enter the store.

They have really good unique products but customer service not so good. I was on my way there to arrive at 5:58 which is 2 mins before they close, i called to ask if they could wait max 5 mins for my arrival in case of traffic, it's one of the few places that has my pups food. They told me that's not possible? These are the small things that matter and make you either dislike or love a business. In this case big dislike and will not be going back.

I love Little Bear! I have been shopping here for the past 10 years for both my cat and dog. The variety is great and the customer service is the best. The one suggestion I make is for a better website so that we could have an idea of what's available before visiting the store. I would recommend Little Bear, and I have, to my family and friends. They are also very engaged with the community and with the different rescue centers in Montreal.

What a great store! They have a wide range of pet supplies, many not found in other pet stores. They carry high quality pet food not sold in supermarkets, etc. But more than all that, they care. They are not part of a chain, but a single destination store for pet food and supplies. Therefore, their staff is knowledgeable and work hard, providing excellent service and advice, to keep you coming back over and over again. And, I certainly do.

Before visiting Little Bear, I knew very little about the proper diet for my dog. Owner Chuck took the time to walk me through the different products they have and the pros and cons of each for my dog's health. Him and his team have a wealth of knowledge regarding dogs and a wealth of knowledge regarding the products in their store. This is definitely not your typical pet supplies store. Little Bear goes above and beyond!

With a flawless and impressive arrange of toys and treats, Little Bear is the go-to store in Montreal to make your fur babies happy. We also buy all our raw meat dog food there, free scheduled delivery being a heck of an advantage. Our fur family - Fiona, Kero, Maximum, Stella and Mister Spot - all wanted to give Little Bear a thumbs up, but failed. No thumbs. So I am writing this 5-star review on their behalf!

The staff here are always happy to help. I can bring my dog into the store and they can find the toys they like. Great local business. The free, same day delivery is brilliant. I call first thing in the morning to make sure I get in. Sometimes they get so busy I can't, but that's OK because the staff are super nice about it. Definitely giving this place 5 stars. Parking is easy to find.

I've posted about this place before but I have to do it again. My friend's dog had been sick for a month. He couldn't digest what he had been eating and the vets were out of ideas. The staff here were patient and friendly and made a plan and figured out his diet in a week. Best selection of High end food in the city, supplies and toys are well-stocked, and the staff is just amazing.

Great store for pet food and supplies. Know their products incredibly well. I was very impressed that they recommended a change in dog food because the brand I had used was sold to a supplier that they didn't trust as much. I also appreciate the emphasis they place on ethics: They insist on being a pet *supply* store and not a pet store (either way, adopted dogs are the best).

I went to this store in search of cat toys and they had a splendid variety! They had a good selection of quality pet food there too for dogs and cats. My friend and I managed to pick out a couple of toys for our cats. They had a variety of toys made by small makers. I ended up with couple of mouse toys that my cats are absolutely crazy about. Service was friendly and helpful.

We recently became dog owners and went to Little Bear to purchase food for our new pup. When I encountered a problem with one of the bags of food I had purchased and notfied the store , they (literally) instantly got back to me and switfly handled the situation. I am so impressed with the service I have received from them. They've made a loyal customer.

If you're going to any other pet food and accessory store in Montréal or Westmount, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. This place has everything you can possibly need for your cat or dog and educated staff. They only carry food brands that are well researched as high quality and the prices are not as bad as you think. You MUST visit this store.

Visited this store when my kitten developed sensitivity to his food to find a new protein. They have a wide selection of different proteins from many good quality brands here. I was able to find foods that work for him. They also carry grass cat litter which makes them a winner for me! The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a great store.

I’m very happy with my experience here. I had done a lot of research on the brand of pet food for my dog and Chuck knew so much more and was so helpful. I will definitely be coming back here each time I need to buy more food. On top of that, my dog absolutely loves the Carna4 duck flavour that Chuck recommended. Really great service and product!

I can’t say enough about how the owners of Little Bear stepped up to resolve an unusual delivery experience. While there were other factors and parties involved, Little Bear took responsibility and made things right. I worked in retail for 40 years and can say unequivocally they did the right thing to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Gotta love the free delivery service as well- makes buying dog food a breeze. The new food our dog is on has definitely helped with his weight loss and his coat looks more healthy than ever. They have home made treats for dogs that I even took a bite of to see how they were and they were delicious lol

I love this place! A lot of products to choose from and the customer service is amazing. They are always ready to help you with a smile. The only thing I believe they have to work on is their website. Is very basic and you don't have a clear idea about what they offer. Maybe it is just me. Anyway, I highly recommend this place

A well-stocked pet shop that has everything you could need for your pet — and more! The staff is knowledgeable and willing to speak with you at length to ensure you find exactly what you need for your fur baby. They are also willing to speak on the phone which, as someone with mobility issues, is greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of things my dog can't digest properly and I was getting a bit desperate before I discovered this place. Their lamb and apple dry food does the trick and I've always been satisfied with the service I've recieved here. I'd recommend this place to anyone in need of high end pet food.

Very helpful staff! I had a pet emergency with my hamster, and even though the store does not specialize in hamster equipment, they were more than willing to do helpful research and help come up with a solution for my pet.

Great friendly service. Free delivery within certain postal codes. Great products. I feed my dog raw and Little Bear is the only store that stocks Big Country Raw, which is an affordable brand of raw diet made in Ontario.

Little Bear is a HUGE pet food / supply store that stock their shelves full of good, wholesome, nutritious, and unique food. The staff and management are knowledgeable, friendly, and go above and beyond.
