I have been to 5 of the clubs in Dallas, Mostly Mockingbird, Greenville and Skillman locations. I will give reviews for each club starting with the current Skillman location. I have been a membership with LA Fitness since May of 2015. I started with independent workouts. I began with a personal trainer in August of 2015. Far and few are the good trainers. The girl Alex is a joke at the Skillman location. She knows little of what she does and has a bad attitude but she makes LA Fitness look good by her physic and gets the guys attention. I guess that IS her asset. She plays on her phone a lot, and the guys flirt with her. She does not pay attention to her clients with correct body positioning, and technique. I am just waiting for an injury to occur with one of her clients. She was my first trainer at this club. She shows up over 15 minutes late. I wanted to end it with her and she begged me to give her a chance. I did and that was the last training session with her. I was told by Conner that she was good. He was wrong. I was also informed by him that he would communicate my needs and goals. She didn't get any of that information, instead she stated she would give me a work out that she uses for her self. Does she not know that she needs to work with the clients needs and physical requirements rather than her own personal routine? No, she does not care what your training needs are only what works for her. I see her work with her clients and it is scary. Ever since I ended the training with her she shows NO PROFESSIONALISM, instead a bad attitude. She gets paid for her looks not her training. The other trainers are master trainers and will not work with you unless you pay the fee. I had over 58 training sessions I wanted to use but not waste on an inexperienced trainer. I got one good trainer and he left for another job in his education field. I was most disappointed with LA Fitness Cooperate which insisted I pay extra money on top of the $4,000 already paid to get a better trainer. The only trainers available were master trainers. You would think that they would give you some leniency but it is a business and you have to look out for yourself and not believe what you hear. The place is over all clean and the people are nice and personal. I am giving a ONE STAR for the trainer ALEX and the COOPERATE OFFICE. By the way do not let the VP Manager, TRAVIS ever sell you a package.
This review is not focused on the facility itself. The facility is decent and never crowded so that's a plus. But I have been in between jobs and moving apartments so for this month I was not able to pay. I got a call from them asking about my payment I told them I would be able to pay it at the end of next week as I just started my new position. He asked if I had a credit card I told him no, he asked if I had another checking account I told him no. He then asked if i wanted to keep getting phone calls everyday until it is paid. I said sure. I figured that's what his job was so I went along with it. As soon as I hung up I received another phone call from the same number. I sent it to voicemail and not even two seconds later he called again. 3 times in less than a minute of each other. Completely unprofessional. I picked up and he mumbled his name and I asked him what he wanted, he said I knew what he was calling for and I told him I would pay next week. I asked if he was going to keep calling and he said he was..well probably not today but he will be doing the same thing tomorrow. I asked what his name was and he told me to have a good day and hung up on me. i called back very upset and asked to figure out who this person was, they said they would look into and then I spoke to the manager who told me that in their policy it is ok for them to call like that to settle. I call that HARRASMENT! They said they would look into it and take my name off so I won't get any more calls. I called back an hour later because I wanted to find out if they had found out what had happened or who it was. They said they made a note and will call me back. Nobody I spoke to sympathized or sounded genuine when they "apologized". And she said I was harassing them...I told her if it was ok for this employee to do that to me it was ok for me to call back and try to figure this out. I understand that it is my responsibility to pay, but life happens. It was going to get paid, but after the lack of customer service I will still pay my remaining balance and I am definitely cancelling my membership. Very disappointing.
DO NOT GET THE PERSONAL TRAINING!!!!!!!! I never make reviews, but I went thru too much with this place. I signed up for the personal training and the next day I decided to cancel it so I would call and they said they’d put a note for the manager to call me .. days go by , not a single call/text. So I go up there and they tell me she’s busy but they’ll leave NOTE for her. I say okay.. days go by , she next calls/texts. And let me include im not going to any of the training sessions so 200$ is being taken out of my account every month! So I finally get a hold of her and she’s like well , you had to have call in 3 days after you signed up for personal trainer and I DID ! but because of the untrained staff I assume they didn’t write her notes down for her or maybe the manager just simply didn’t care and didn’t want to help me. Every time I went up there she wasn’t there or she couldn’t get to me. She said she’s there from 9-5 and I have to work so I get there about 4-410 and she’s already gone? So this week I go up there and tell them tell me what ever I need to pay so I can get out this damn contract (btw she wasn’t there again had to talk to someone else because I wasn’t walking away this time) they tell me it’s a 50% buy out so I paid what I needed to pay and then they charged me again this morning! The 200$! And my wife called them to see what’s going on and now they’re saying they can only give me back 100$ and it’ll be back in 14 business days. What a joke. I always went to small gyms , but I wanted to try something better and I thought it was LA but I was wrong. I’ll never be coming back here atleast not to this location. Before coming here hope you see this review and the others that had similar problems as me.
I have used this gym a few times in past years when I visit Dallas for a few months. This year I walked in to explain that I am gone for a few years at a time and then come back for a few months and wondered what kind of plan I could sign up for. The guy selling me said I could get a normal membership and just pause it when I'm not using it. I didn't get the special price, since I was not signing up for a year, or whatever the deal was, but that's okay. I signed up for a monthly account for my wife and I. Paying full price for the first and last month as well as the initiation fee. I failed to visit the first month I was in Dallas, but then paused it, a day into the second month, since I would be on the road for two months, before returning to Dallas. After a month, I saw a new charge from LA Fitness on my credit card. I visited the location once I was back in Dallas and was told that there was a fee while the account was on hold. If I'm gone for years at a time, there's no way I'm paying a monthly fee to have the account on pause/hold. It ends up costing way more than any other option. No one mentioned the fee, sure it's likely buried in fine print somewhere, the salesman certainly didn't mention it, knowing I'd be paying the fee for years while I'm away. I told them that I was never told about the fee, no apology, they offered to keep the account live since I basically had a month left to use, I said 'no, cancel it now' having no idea what other hidden fees might be charged. So, I'm now over $200 into this place without ever having used it a single time.
Love coming to this location because of the upgrades but the young brunette woman working the front desk on Saturday 3/4 is so rude and very off putting. I understand the gym closes at 8pm on Saturdays but she cut the lights in the free weight area nearly 10 minutes early and I can't even explain how UNSAFE that is while guests were still working out. She was rude to me and another guest in the women's dressing room when we were getting ready to leave, again minutes before 8pm on a Saturday (closing). I understand the gym closes at 8pm and she probably wants to lock the doors and get out of there but I've worked at an LA fitness and it's implied that if you close at 8 you most likely don't lock up and leave as the closer until at least 8:15pm. Everyone in there pays their monthly dues and deserves to catch every minute of their workout until closing. Also when announcing the 20 minute and 15 minutes till closing she was basically YELLING on the intercom, it was excessive and came off so aggressive. As a paying customer when you feel aggressively spoken to by an employee to the point of wanting to retaliate something's not right. I should never leave the gym feeling this heated, that's ridiculous. Also during check in she could barely be bothered to get off of her phone to scan our bar codes.. I work customer service and this is not how you treat guests. I will gladly upgrade to 5 stars once this is addressed and her attitude is changed.
The staff at this location is VERY unprofessional. I am moving to a place about 90 miles away and there is no LA fitness within 45 miles. Upon figuring this out i tried to cancel my personal training so I went to the training manager, Richard, to figure out my options. Richard is by far the most unprofessional person I have had to deal with, he told me that there are no options and I will have to pay for the rest of my sessions regardless. I called the corporate office and they told me what I could do was get a training cancellation form. So the next day I went back to Richard and he told me that LA fitness "absolutly does not have a cancellation form." After telling him I talked to the corporate office he seemed nervous but still continued to talk to me like a 3 year old. Finally I talked to a billing manager and they knew what I was talking about... Weird that the training manager had no idea what I needed... Overall The facility stays dirty and when the equipment gets broken it seems to take weeks to get it fixed. If you are looking at signing up here I would highly discourage it. They seem nice before you sign up, but once they have you signed up, they couldn't care less about you. The only reason I gave a "poor-fair" rating is because it is the lowest possible on google, but don't be fooled, there is nothing "fair" about this gym. Don't sign up for personal training here unless you want to feel judged by the staff mainly "Richard."
I used to train here 3 years ago and today I went back and rejoined the gym as their first day back after the recent lockdown. I am pleased to say that I noticed that the staff are very helpful and were constantly cleaning and sanitizing all the equipment. They all looked like that they love what they’re doing and extremely helpful. They keep it very clean and inviting. I had to go to a few other gyms in between and they were not the same at all and very unprofessional as if they’re doing you a favor by letting you train there and me being in the service industry myself don’t appreciate that kind of approach and wouldn’t give them my money. I also know a few of the trainers that work at this location pretty good and they’re dedicated to achieving results specially big Kevin. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to make people get to where they want to go. He is a student of his own art and one the biggest and most humble men I’ve ever met. Today was a great day for me after all that we are having to deal with in the light of the recent developments and I felt like a kid in a candy store by joining my old gym again.
This location is so frustrating. There is a serious shortage of free weights, even when not busy! There are weights everywhere and people don't put stuff back. Lack of gym etiquette with the people that go there or the staff just doesn't help out. I do understand that there is always going to be issues but the last few times I go its always an issue to get the right weights. Its like I can't really go in there with a plan which is probably because others go in there without a plan. I have tried going different times too. There has to be a solution to this. I was going to the one off Preston but because I moved I started to try this location. I can understand waiting sometimes to get the right weight but if I have to do that every time for multiple different weights then thats ridiculous. The one off preston could be completely packed and there was no waiting around and having to figure out a different plan because I could find weights or people weren't holding onto the weights while they are sitting there taking their time because they are talking with their group of gym buddies.
On a good day, I might have given this place 3 stars, despite the icky showers and dressing rooms that always have dirty floors and hair everywhere. However, they have now found a way to screw over their paying swim members. I've had my membership for years and only to swim. They are now allowing a third-party business to rent two of their lanes, cramming all of their loyal, full-paying members into two lanes to do their swimming and water fitness - and for large chunks of the day! I am stunned because this used to be strictly against the rules and now the almighty dollar has conquered Mr. Welch. In addition, the last time I swam there, which has now been a while because I'm still deciding what to do next, I was stunned to see a man swimming in his underwear and when I asked the front desk about it, she said there's really nothing they can do about that. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! THIS IS HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNSANITARY. I really don't want to be in a pool swimming with men in their sweaty, skid underwear... women either, although I have yet to see that.
SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT! I wouldn’t recommend to sign up , Long story short Before I got pregnant i sign up for a whole year of personal trainer everything was going well till I got pregnant and my pregnancy end up being a high risk pregnancy with that being said I was paying my membership, kids club an extra to be able to bring ppl with me total of $138 plus $200 of training so total of 338 a month so recently I been trying to contact them to see if they can freeze my trainer fees $200 because I have not use it in a good 4 months and they don’t want to I don’t want to cancel or leave just like everyone does but they do t want to work with me , and I’m still paying everything ok I’m not trying to cancel I just need a break for my high risk pregnancy and they are not flexible I would not recommend this gym at all because they are not considered for life reasons don’t matter the reasons they don’t care I’m over it ! So sad because I been a LA fitness member since I was like 17 now I’m 29
I recently moved from Arlington, this location is the closest one being over a twenty minute drive. I came to cancel yesterday, the man working the front asked that I come back during business hours (8-5). And that a manager would give me a call in the morning. I did not receive said call. I went today at 1:00pm, the man working the front asked me to come back another time. Informed him this was my second time trying to cancel. It’s inconvenient to go through this entire process for them to refuse. He simply said they will call me back. I called the Arlington location, they said so long as I am requesting a cancellation, they can’t refuse. Much less in person. The Arlington location was far more helpful over the phone than yesterday and todays staff at this location. I placed a stop payment through my bank and Arlington terminated my membership through the phone.
I signed a one year membership you would think that would be great NO they are pressing for my person to take some fitness exam to see were Im at physically well I have a herniated disc and buldge and degenerative spine disease my left knee and foot are injured due to my time in service. I also repeated that mentally I wasnt really into the workout due to pain. They sweet talk and convince you its for better health I fell for it and I tried reading the contract since Im being instructed to sign my initials and was quickly hurried to just sign. I met with my trainer one time and Im just not into it so I tried to cancel. I was informed I would have to pay 50% of the remaining balance like $1100.00 ...HECK NO! They were a big mistake all they want is your money and nothing else.
I like the other one that I believe is off of Shiloh. This one every time I go in the locker room smells like mildew. Have to blame it on the designers though. Who puts carpet in a locker room next to a pool and the sauna. Not very smart how can the employees stop the floor from mildewing. And was given a week's past for my brother comic given to me by the sales associate on my purchase of the membership. Upon trying to validate it at Skillman before work my brother had to deal with another sales associate with another sales pitch. In which it up most of our time. Had to explain didn't have a lot of time only met by an attitude and never sent my brother the verification code to his phone. In which the week pass wasn't validated. Got to love sales associates. Or not!
This place is suspect at best! Cost too much to sign up at first $99 iniation fee, $65 for something else, then after 90 days they hit you with an annual fee. The facility cleanliness gets a C+. This place has low quality staff members who are not properly culturaled and formal. Equipment is always broken. I’ve should’ve at Planet Fitness, but they do not have a sauna, pool, Jacuzzi and certain leg machines and a basketball court... but at least PF is cheaper, better run, cleaner, safer; I had my headphones stolen! This place has cost me so much money. I’ve should’ve listened to the Holy Spirit in warning me not to go there.... but it’s so close to my house. I will be canceling in the coming months though.
The customer service was terrible. I have lived in the Lake Highlands neighborhood for years and this past weekend I had the worst experience with Luis Jimenez. He called and set an appointment for my boyfriend and I to come in on Saturday and to my surprise we arrive to his terrible attitude. He was extremely dismissive and short of patience and he turned us away after setting the appointment for us to come in. He was not the least bit interested in smoothing things over or explaining things to us. It seemed like he was having a really bad day but when I called back and told him that he said he was doing perfect. So I guess he just wakes up rude daily and for that, I will not be back.
I was there today suposely to see my billing information and when I meet the person that I was goin to talk to. I forgot to ask for her name but she was the person standing in front of the door, she was the worst at customer service.... I was there to see what was wrong with my bill and what she did, was just telling me how much supposely I owed to them and didnt let me explain what could be wrong. I have the payments in front of me so that I could show her but didnt even bother to look at them she completely ignore me and told me to come back the next day so my question was who is there to take care of customer service!!!!!!! This place is at its worst..
Men's showers had NO soap in any of the dispensers. The shower stalls had not been cleaned out of debris on the floor of the shower and the area smelled rancid. The locker room likewise smelled very unpleasant. Today's experience was far from the normal condition of the locker room. but the manager I spoke continued with his feet up and did not seem to think that the condition was out of the ordinary. He did not even feel it was appropriate to say he would take care of the problem or that he would report it to those who could. As I said above I told the LAF manager at desk near the front desk. That was this evening, Saturday 09/15/18 about 5:05 pm.
05-01-2021. My 1st day really great! Anxious & nervous but felt very comfortable after I finished my 1st training. Met vice prez Zach. Very very nice young guy. Of course, Travis is amazing since I met him days ago. He deserves a special kudos!!! Could hardly wait to meet Byron, my trainer on Monday. I know he will be more amazing than Travis & Zach! Please keep up. Thank you much . 1st time ever been to this place, even to a gym. Very impressed w place & staff. Tomorrow will be my 1st time. Looking forward for my initial training session. Will update.
You people who are writing negative review about this club must always be miserable people who complain about everything. I travel for a living and think that this is one of the better managed clubs with professional, friendly personnel running the place, The equipment is clean maybe not the newest stuff on the market, but you do not have to wait to work out on every piece of equipment like you do at their other clubs. The one on Lovers Lane is a joke. It so over crowed at night, i can't get a decent workout in at that location. Stop being haters!!!!
Ok gym. I am no longer in need of a gym membership. I called to cancel my membership and was told I could only do it in person. I came in Sunday to cancel in person. I am now being told I have to come in Monday through Friday 9 AM through 5 PM. What is the reason for that? Can I please just cancel my membership? I used to have 24 fitness and I could just cancel it over the phone. I would figure a recognizable gym establishment such as LA fitness would have a reasonable process to which you could just cancel your membership. This is ridiculous.
General manager Kevin, is extremely rude. There’s a way to ask for things rather than to demand coming hostile. First time I worked out on the padded area, Kevin came to say not to slam the weights, which case I wasn’t. I was deadlifting. Second instance asked again on the flooring area. So which one is it? Or this gym like planet fitness? When asked about a complain number, he immediately changed his character and said he didn’t have one. Next time I’ll be sure not to hurt the weights feelings or his, by placing them gently on the floor.
All LA Fitness locations are supposed to be about the same, but this one keeps going downhill and isn't as enjoyable to workout at anymore. The staff isn't nice, the members often act like they own the place by using the stairs for their workout or laying their stuff all over the machines when not in use, and the TVs are always on ridiculous cable news. I recommend the Garland/Centerville location much more highly. Better machines, nicer staff and individual TVs in the cardio area upstairs, even if it's not in as nice a part of town.
This company is a scam and refuses to cancel memberships. I've jumped through hoops and mailed multiple cancelation forms which were "not received" I have tracking proof that the last 3 forms i mailed were delivered and customer service has been no help and refuses to cancel membership. I've filed complaint with the BBB and will be disputing with my bank also. Edited to add that after I filed BBB complaint the company magically was able to cancel the membership which they had claimed to have been unable to do before hand.
Do NOT sign up for personal training classes! They will keep taking money out of your account after the classes are supposed to be done. I’ve been dealing with this since November which is when the training was supposed to be done. Taylor i always busy and she will “return” your calls but she she never does! You have to constantly call the club to get a hold of her. Not going back to ANY la fitness. A lot of people warned me about them but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt! Lesson learned! Worse gym ever!
Great location, safe and well-lit at night. Staff is friendly, facilities and equipment are in good condition and well-maintained. Gym is clean and spacious, good lighting and has everything you need for a good workout. The only thing that is lacking is a supplement shop or juice bar, for a protein shake or pre-workout or energy drinks, ibuprofen, etc. Even a vending machine selling these would be perfect. But overall, this is a great gym and very typical of the high standards I expect from LA Fitness.
Do NOT buy personal training! Staff is not friendly. Manger said she would help me find my missing training (that I prepaid for) after her personal call. Then turns me to another person who is unresponsive, then finally tells me that my training has expired. Which I was told would never expire. So I LOST 10 personal training sessions!?!? I believe I’ve had my membership here 13 + years... it’s a decent gym, but I would NOT believe anything the say. And do NOT buy anything extra from them!
Trash. I went in looking to try out the gym before I signed up for a membership. I asked the guy TWICE if they offered any trial period. Both times he said no. Took a tour of the place and signed up for a membership anyways. I figured it was because covid times, but NOOOOOOPE. As soon as I sign up for a membership, I get a business card and right on the back it says “free one week trial”. The facility itself is fine but any place that lies to my face twice is an immediate 1 star.
EDIT: About 1 month after my review, this LA Fitness redid their ENTIRE basketball court and it’s the best one in DALLAS!!! Great staff, great location. Compared to the other LA locations in Dallas, this one doesn’t mop it’s basketball court enough. The dusty floor is sometimes dangerous; I just don’t want to see someone getting injured while playing recreational basketball—especially when it could be easily prevented. The staff is nice and accommodating, no complaints there.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! No one wears masks here, and they definitely aren’t six feet apart when their masks are off, which is not what is was told when I signed up. When I came in to cancel and get a refund before the 24 hour mark, the manager hid in the back, so she wouldn’t have to give me a refund. The guy at the front desk is also really unprofessional and refuses to wear a mask when checking guests in. This place is also really ghetto. I recommend finding a nicer gym.
Good clean gym. I have never gone to the gym and find out too busy to get any of the equipment I want to use whether it is a treadmill, stair stepper, or Nautilus. While the gym had great hours, I try to go at 5 as soon as it opens and even at that time there are 20+ people there. ONLY down side is the cost they are impressed with the location as should be but it would be better if they could or would combine our 3 users into a less expensive plan.
I’d give the facility a medicore rating of 3, I’m leaving five stars because Kevin the personal trainer saved my life. I’ve worked with other trainers through LA Fitness that did absolutely nothing for me because they simply don’t care as much. If Kevin wasn’t there, I would go to a different facility with more competitive pricing but just him being there is enough to keep me going to this particular gym and retain my membership.
They finally renovated this location since it first opened. Something like 10 plus years. It's more modern now with some new machines, even one i have yet to see in another gym until now. The artificial turf is a nice touch for any athlete to really train in a open space! From the tile in men's locker room to the sauna being remodeled. Its a breath of fresh air for those of us coming since they opened. It was very much needed.
Zero Covid precautions in place at this location. No one but staff require masks, and so no one wears any. No one checking temperatures either. Other than that, it's a decent gym, it has what you need for a good workout. Equipment is old but functional. There's several gyms to choose from in this area but a 30 pound dumbbell here weighs the same at those, so this LA Fitness is good enough if you aren't picky.
The weight lifting area is a cramped and feels boxed in and as the day goes on they don’t clean. The culture and environment is not to clean. They do leave out spray bottles but they do not leave out towels or paper towels to wipe things down. Their pool area is wonderful. The pool (heated) has 4 lanes and they have a hot tub. It’s smells clean and is taken care of. The locker room is well maintained.
Planet Fitness should not be better than LA Fitness. I just left a cheaper Planet Fitness to come to a more expensive LA Fitness. Big mistake. All the machines are outdated, there is no quality control with air conditioning , the televisions are extremely small and offer no variety. I pretty much regret switching but this location is so much closer to my house then Planet Fitness. Very low quality.
Incredibly unfriendly staff members we were greeted by (3 separate people). My friends and I are moving to the area and had legitimate free week long passes so we could try out the gym. Instead of welcoming us, they told us to prove we live here and said we had to be at least 18 (we are all 23-25, thanks). Guess we won't be trying out or going to this rude and unwelcoming establishment.
This is by far the most poorly run and poorly maintained gym I have ever observed. IF Lifetime Fitness would open a more local location, I wouldn't hesitate to switch. My wife and I have been members here for 10 years only because of the proximity to our home , and we are still disrespected or disregarded as members. Please don't waste your money here
High quality workout facility, at a budget. You just have to negotiate or wait for a good deal. Get a tour. Don't accept the first offer. Look at other gym options. Use that info to negotiate. BAM It is pretty clean. No complaints there. Nice variety of machines, classes, and courts(Basketball and Racquetball) The sauna is pretty nice.
They play the three card Monte with your membership. I paid cash on the 11th of the month and on the 15th they tried to double charge me on my credit card. There is no accounting nor accountability. They penalized me for paying early and for paying cash! What company penalizes their members for paying cash and early? …
I love this location! It’s easily my go to spot. It’s always clean, and has plenty of space and machines. The people that workout here are fit so it’s good motivation. The music they play is appropriate for a gym. The staff is helpful! I really like how clean this gym is compared to other LA Fitness I’ve been to.
I only come for the hot tub and it’s awful. Very very cold. It’s never full, impossible to use. The front staff is just chilling on their phones when things could have been actually taken care of. I wish the managers did their job checking the facilities. The water is always disgusting and so dirty …
My daughter visits this gym, usually several times a week, due to it's close proximity, to our home. There's always wadded up paper towels, strewn about, on the floor, as well as, on the machines. Also, desk personal, seem to require a bit more customer service training, as they don't seem, too professional.
Had a fabulous experience ony visit....wasn't sure which gym I wanted to join...but after one visit I would recommend to any looking for a new gym to join! And I get nationwide access included as well as one complimentary guest to bring per visit....and that's all included in basic membership!!! …
This is the worst place on earth bad customer service the manager was very disrespectful I really feel sorry for the people who go there ! I was looking for a long term membership but the manager technically called me crazy and treat me badly !!! Im glad there are a lots of places to work out in Dallas
The chlorine smell hits you as you as you enter the building. Staff does not seem to know the difference between free chlorine and chloramines. It is choloramines that cause the chlorine smell in a pool and a chlorine shock will help reduce the smell. The water at the Garland location is much better.
Never forget this is a profit business. Making money is their goal above all else at LA Fitness. They are not accommodating for medical needs even with a doctors note. You pay no matter what. It is very difficult to get out of or modify any contracts. I suggest you shop around and be cautious.
My Worst experience ever, the management is worst. The manager doesn’t even listen, he chow gum while talking to you. So disrespectful. They kicked my kids from the kids club, after I already spoke with the front man. I would never suggest anyone to go to this gym. Bad customer service ever.
The inside of the gym is just ok. They don't fix their equipment until it is completely unusable. The parking lot is not safe. I had my car broken into twice in broad daylight on sundays and the gym didn't care or help out. There is a small basketball court and a couple racquet ball courts.
A friend of mine gave me a 14 days pass to try here, maybe this could be my new gym. There's no control of prevention measures: people with no mask, they don't clean their equipments after use it. No one is doing anything about it. This gym isn't safe during these times. Poor management.
I was walking in the men's locker room one night when I worked out late a few weeks back and walked by one of the shower stalls and saw a used condom on the floor! That combined with the acrid stench of a Missouri truck stop bathroom and horse barn made for an unsavory experience. Haha
The KIDs zone staff is amazing. They get to know you and your kids. They live locally, so you will bump into them while out and about and they are always friendly with the kids when we see them. The gym itself is well maintained, although the showers can be a little mildewy at times.
Travis and the staff are very helpful and polite. This location tends to get busy around 6 to 7 30 pm, but that is expected of the after work rush. They still distance the cardio machines which is great and they provide cleaning materials for the machines. Great spot great value.
Gym itself has everything you need for a workout. Staff and members are friendly. The locker rooms and bathrooms are atrocious though. I would give this gym 5 stars if they would actually clean the locker rooms/bathrooms, not just wipe down the counters like I see every morning.
Can't beat the price. The machines are clean and they have everything I need in a gym. The pool is decent but could be a little better. I go 3 times a week in the morning and it is never so busy that you have to wait. It is busier in the evening but even then it is manageable.
Gym is convenient- but the staff who greet you are rude. Each time someone walks in or out you should be welcoming or saying have a nice day. It’s customer service and each person who works the front desk lack it. Don’t put the scanner up on the ledge and text on your phone.
Its the closest gym to me but I got a membership at Fitness connection last weekend. Newer equipment, less monthly fee, Kids club is opened longer AND is included in my cheap membership. I'll be canceling my membership this week. LA Fitness does need to step its game up.
Worst worst worst. Ben is terrible , the personal trainer manager. Don't fall for his subtle look and initial warmness. The goal is to get you to sign that terrible legal doc and to get ur card details. I promise u the rest is a joke and a waste of ur time and resources.
This place was great until the new assistant manager, Margarita, showed up. She has terrible customer service, is very disrespectful, and has absolutely no manners when it comes to speaking to customers. It's time to find a new gym or switch to a different location!
La fitness the most scammer gym I have experienced. they got me into contracts that was not fully disclosed to me.This company is just scamming money out of people in fully hidden way.very disappointed and dissatisfied with the sales at this location. The worst gym!
So, I'm definitely becoming a regular here. I like the wide lanes in the pool. Ample hot tub and sauna. Zumba classes are cool, and even aqua fit, is enjoyable, stretches your muscles, and apparently it's not just for seniors. ( which was my previous misconception)
Amazing place to workout!! Staff are friendly all hours of the day including 5am in the morning. The kids watching area staff are great with our 11mth old. Trainers are helpful when you ask questions and supportive of whatever your goals are. I love this place!
Great gym. Been going here for about 4 months now and staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions or help when they can. Kids club is a great addition and had several different people watch my son and they have always been nice and he loves going.
Generally great workouts. Lots of equipment. Facility is clean and good upkeep. Caution- use the lock boxes near the entrance for valuables like keys, wallets and phones or carry them with you. Don't leave valuables in lockers. Locker break-ins do happen.
Great gym, centrally located and next to great restaurants. The only issue that I have is with the equipment being a bit outdated. But other than that all good! Update:. The gym has been updated and looks very nice. Only issue is the bathroom is a mess
I've been using this gym for about 6 months now and I have had nothing but good experiences. Only thing I guess I could gripe about is that I like to work out after 8pm and on Saturday and Sunday they close at 8pm, besides that everything is great.
La Fitness is just the best gym ever. It's very clean, and you can access all the tools you need anytime you wish . I love it, especially thier customer service . They are one of the nicest . The showers are very clean, swimming pool clean
Yoga class Multiple strech pad areas Hot pool whirlpool but clothing hooks are on other end of pool Men women pool entry is reverse here women then men vs many other locations Once familiar with layout inside you will find has all you need
The gym is convenient. The sauna is usually empty. The equipment can stand to be updated and in working order. Also the front desk guy with the ponytail is unwilling to help anyone. I asked if they could page overhead and was told no,
Agree with DuLa below, the exact thing happened to me at this location. I have never had problems at any other location except this one. To make a long story short, the staff didn't allow access and are the WORST at customer service!!!
I had an amazing experience at this LA FITNESS. The GM Travis was really helpful. The Personal Training Directors name is Ryan Cole. He is super friendly and ery knowledgeable. I recommend anybody and everybody to go meet him☺️ …
You pay your high membership fees here, but yet it's 20 minutes after opening time and they still haven't opened up. This isn't the first time either. Thanks for continuously ruining the only chance in the day I have to workout.
Great gym that’s very sanitary! Overall I can never complain when you go to LA fitness. It gets 4 stars because sometimes there prices are a little high if you don’t signup during a special, other then that amazing quality gym
Used to like this gym, until they absolutely screwed me with personal training. Very unprofessional management and trainers. There was only one good trainer and she left unfortunately. This place gets 1 star for the eye candy.
What's the point of front desk guys just sitting there with long faces, nasty attitude, their head buried in their cell phones and they don't even greet you, he just scanned my card and slammed the scanner on counter. Ugh
The Gym unfortunately gets 2.5 Stars because lots of "Towels are on the FLOOR in the Men's Locker Room on SATURDAY". Also the Whirlpool out of order. I do like this gym but Management please let keep it a cleaner please.
Sam and Brian are excellent at getting you where you want to be. With great customer service and attention to client goals people who care. LA Fitness is an awesome place to work out, great machines great atmosphere
Cancelations: Make sure you get a Email or Proof of your cancelation. Otherwise, you still getting charged. Third time I’ve to ask to cancel one of my members in my Membership. They still charging to my credit card.
Loaded answers total not online. Scammed again ret. Military no discounts if my insurance can pay for a membership. Sales staff needs training or perhaps the canid honesty is out of s style. Very disappoined.
They have just renewed the whole gym and its awesome!!! Great new equipment and nice new layout. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly. This is by far the best place to workout without a doubt.
I dropped my membership because 1 assistant failed to tell me the date I would be billed, and the exact price. That put me in a very inconvenient situation. Except that, very good place to get in shape.
Best gym ever. They are so attentive. The equipments are top notch and up to date. Very clean place, smells good. Smiling trainers and attendants. Neat bathrooms. The ambience makes you wanna work out.
New to area and Samantha was a great help in my decision for this gym, equipment rock solid and all the regulars and staff members are kind and helpful. Would recommend to beginner and experts a like
Large clean gym. Has a sauna, pool, lockers, plenty of treadmills, and freeweights. Has classes of all sorts. It's missing heavier weights for larger body builders and does not have a tire or chains.
Nice gym, organized well and very clean. Plenty of equipment but lacking on stairmasters. Very friendly to all types of people wether you are just starting out or a seasoned gym goer.
Staff is rude and not friendly. The manager is a jerk. One Hispanic lady probably late 20s early 30’s who works the front desk she is the worst. Definitely in the wrong line of work.
The staff are great which makes it a shame corporate has decided to put no money into the facility which has clearly seen better days. Another lat pull down machine would kill you?
My daughter said a Word, "I am actually Enjoying workout with Byron." This is her 2nd time comment ever since 24 hour Fitness. Very precious trainer at LA Fitness, BYRON!.
This is a newly upgraded/renovated LA fitness that is generally always clean and has the usual (high) amount of rush hour traffic but is otherwise easily accessible.
I Love this gym! It’s way clean! And it doesn’t get as packed as other gyms. And everyone is in their zone so no one bothers you. In fact the people are so SWEET!
Only issue is the dumbbell rack is a mess and missing weights. The shower heads need to be replaced. But the gym is clean compared to other big box gyms I go to.
Pretty good gym. Love the free weights. Clean pool and locker rooms. Only issue was that the stair masters were broken. If not for that I would give it 5 stars.
Weight area is really old, somewhat clean and so much mess. Everything is out place or order and unorganized. Makes working out slow looking for equipment.
I went here for a while before I had to move the place ia great and the associates are nice as well as the fellow gym members ..place is kept pretty clean
Kevin really helped me get the right membership, first time even going to the gym and made the environment very friendly. Remodel looks amazing too!
Great gym to work out, the people there are amazing. There is one of the girl’s that is super cool and she sells tasty strawberry and banana shakes!
Love the facility and the training program. Ryan Cole the director and Jonah the VP were so helpful and amazing. Recommend their help to anyone!!!
The staff are courteous. Manager took time to indicate which machines would help me reach my goals. Very dedicated to cleanliness of facility.
Ask for Brian! I’ve never learned so much while touring a gym as I have with them. No pressure, incredibly helpful, and genuinely good people!
Not a bad gym compared to another la fitnesses. This is clean and spacious. I wish they had more squat racks. Everything else is great.
MUCH cleaner / easier to get machines than uptown. Staff was able to fix an issue with my membership. Good value for what you pay for.
