It is a nice free escape from the city scapes of Calgary. Currently there is a huge amount of path construction taking place, however, you can still enjoy the tranquility of a nice nature stroll and pause on the bridge decks and other lookouts to read the posted poetry and do some bird watching. Such a nice quiet area to explore with tons of different wildlife to see. Just being there a short time I saw lots of different birds, some deer close by, fish, and 2 Canadian geese with their new born babies. This wasn't my first time here, but definitely won't be my last! More

Highly accessible (even in winter) but would be difficult (not impossible) for a wheelchair or standard stroller. Best of the local riparian habitat on display here, to be sure, and the proximity to the local community offerings means you

What a beautiful place for a walk. Well maintained grounds. Trails are easy to walk along. The bridges across the wetland are located perfectly to watch birds and the beaver dam. There are a number of benches around the property where you

Great place to go bird watching and go for a nice long walk. You will be able to find a few seats to rest and eat your snacks -but please don’t litter! This is few of those parks where you can see people are respectful pf the nature area.

  • Lori Klassen

I love this easy walk. Parking is good and the walk is really good with lots of benches to rest. I've had limited mobility and low endurance so this has been a favorite place to move my body. Lots of birds too and I often see deer.

  • Kendra Henderson

Beautiful place! You get to see a lot of wildlife and it's just a very calming environment! Everyone who goes there is very respectful of everything. I would recommend here for a day you just want to look at pretty things! Love it!

Get the Merlin app to identify birds by sound. Red tail hawk and bald Eagle by the bow River, lots of song birds in the inner loop on the far side of the river. Go early in the morning before it gets too hot, You'll see more. More

Such a great place right in the heart of the city. Take a walk with kids, spot some birds, enjoy the nature. Learned that you shouldn't be walking on rocky beach area as some birds lay eggs there that are camouflaged as rocks.

A little under construction at the moment, but it's a wonderful place. You would never believe you're near the center of a major city. Go at dusk to see deer and bevers. Owls nest in the early spring. Just great really.

Great walk to stretch your legs. Beautiful scenic walk takes about 20-30 min to complete. (If you walk fast). Lots of ducks, geese and the odd deer here and there. Free admission is always a bonus. 5 + …

Beautiful nature walk to escape the stressors of everyday!! An early turn of the Century house built by Colonel James Walker in 1910 graces the property. Designated a bird Sanctuary by the City!!

If you want to get away from city life without driving far. This is the place. Take your time. Only minus is when kids get pulled on a wagon and makes noise on path and scares away wildlife.

This was a great little walk with my kids, they loved seeing all the animals. We also went to some stations that told us about different habitats and animal facts. We had a great day!

Such a great place full of so much nature. This place is right in the middle of the city but you feel like you're outside the city. We have two young kids and they loved it. More

Quiet park with some traffic during weekend afternoons. Nice and easy trail, great view of the Bow river. Deer are visible as well as birds - but fir that you need binoculars.

It was good place to be, felt so close to nature. It was so calm. Hadn't had much birds to watch. And omg restrooms are so hard to find once you cross the main entrance!

Nice quiet walk to hear different bird sounds. We went in fall on Sunday, it wasn't busy at all. There weren't many birds either, but nice group walk anyways. More

Love this place. So nice and serene. Some areas are closed off still from their restoration projects. Great place to take small children for a nice leisurely walk.

If you're into photography, nature walks, easy going. This certainly is it. Most of the paved paths, are flat. Very minimal partial hills. Overall electric
