I have waited this long to post this review for a reason. I first discovered Horncastle when I needed urgent repairs and modifications to be undertaken at the residence of an elderly couple who I care for dearly, and they particular, capable and knowledgeable (but at that time infirm) due to elder-abuse and medical complications needed urgent and specialized works to be undertaken. I had to be particularly diligent in my choice of trades-persons, the couple being traumatized from previous treatment and thefts by those who they should have been able to trust, and I have known this astute couple for 35 years, their new anxiety and fear for other humans broke my heart as they had always been the first and most generous people to anyone stranger or not. Respectful and transparent persons were a must. As it happened, no other business replied as it was the nearing the festive season of 2018. But cal answered, and kept all promises promptly. As we needed to meet specialist aged-care and disability requirements, and were also working with works which involved RTWSA funding interactions, most plumbers would have avoided the job anyway. Not Horncastle. Said they were privileged to help a couple in such a situation, and they meant it. We warned them upfront of the abuse risks of family approaching the residence, and of likely funding complications affected by the abuse. Not a problem. Perfectly respectful, perfect job, perfectly cleaned up afterwards (including fixing problems/mess by RTW contractors without additional charge). Transparent and itemized invoicing as requested. Unfortunately the funding problems eventuated due to the Public trustee's mismanagement. Cal waited patiently 5 months for payment that was delayed due to both public trustee issues and further family-member payment obstruction tactics, and then issued final notice, respectfully, and was reasonable about that too. Horncastle is a small-business not a bank or credit-purchase or loan service, and their patience was extended to their detriment. Their work was stellar, Their price much better than others. More prompt and reliable than any other tradies I've ever dealt with. When they couldn't raise a response for Payment requests from the PT/Family-member Administrator they issued the debt notice in the only other name they had, the contact person for the job, Me. Not my property or works, Yes. But that allowed for me to fwd on the invoicing and letter of demand I received to the PT to advocate payment. After all that, no extra was even charged for holding costs he incurred!! (because he understood the elderly couple's situation). Scott was amazing with the couple, diligent, and at all times mindful of not leaving gates and doors unlocked/unattended. Would I use them again? Absolutely. Was I surprised that they would take future business from me (someone they had issued final notice to and got an absolute pre-emptive spray from)? Absolutely. Will I again? Yep, in January Hopefully. Have I recommended them? to everyone! (I only reccomend two plumbers: Ashley Hunt (separate business), AND Horncastle. 10 stars. Perfect. Thank you Cal and Scott. An honour to have dealt with You.

It’s been about 10 months since we had the team out to do a second fix on 2 small bathrooms. They were great with getting a team out to quote quickly and do the job quickly, especially in a busy season. I wasn’t going to leave a review but I keep noticing very poorly done work in the second bathroom (which we don’t use often) which I think an apprentice did unsupervised. The main bathroom which we use regularly has had few issues (only a leaking bottom pipe after less than a week which they promptly came out to fix on contact). First issue - the marble benchtop of the vanity in the second bathroom is so wonkily put on it’s unbelievable. You can see the lip of the timber vanity underneath. They also scratched the marble. The shower has been installed quite wonky that it’s painful to look at once noticed. They also used some sort of tool that has left permanent black dot splatter on numerous white tiles. There was so much distress when installing the bathtub because the (suspected) apprentice didn’t understand what to do and was about to jack hammer tiles up thereby damaging the waterproofing. My husband had to call me and I told him firmly no and to talk to the senior plumber which is when the senior plumber said that jack hammering was completely unnecessary. When I asked for a quote, I asked for all plumbing works to be done. But as I had left the house, they told my husband that they didn’t agree to cut the outdoor pipes and put a cap on them. This was very frustrating as I showed them those pipes on quoting and I consider that to be plumbing. Overall, they were relatively affordable and the main bathroom was done quite well but there’s just too many issues that I wouldn’t use them again.

I used Horncastle Plumbing a couple of years ago regarding some bidet installs. I had gotten a few quotes for the job, and while Horncastle were priced somewhere in the middle, they advised that the lower cost quotes might not be following the government regulations and not installing backflow valve protections. So I decided to go with them and they did an excellent job of it. Recently I wanted to get the water pressure re-inspected for one of the bidets and Horncastle came and did the fix (increased the pressure) free of charge. So that was a great service, since the original works were 2 years ago. I also got them to unblock a couple of wash-basin drains at the same time, and the person managed to do them both in under 30 mins. So great outcome overall. Their service is professional, clean, on time, and good value. They have the knowledge and expertise and will also give you good advise. I highly recommend their service to everyone.

Cal Horncastle is far from honest. He recently worked at my home and tacked on 40% additional costs. As an account holder at Reece plumbing I knew the retail cost of every part he supplied and installed. In addition I never asked him to pass on his trade discount, which some people do. When I queried him he said his storage rack in his van cost alot and needed to be payed for. Be warned too, that Cal will talk on his phone at your expense. His trick is to take of an hour or so off his hourly rate to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Only to sting you with overinflated and unitemised material costs. So unless you wish to pay for Cals tools, (outside of his already hefty scale of fees), be blatantly lied to and stripped of your honest hard working money, give Cal a very wide miss.

I have been a customer of Horncastle Plumbing since its inception as a small business. Over the years, Cal has always replied promptly to my texts requesting his assistance and he and his staff have consistently demonstrated a calm, professional approach when working on my property. Once the work is complete, they have immediately followed up with a clear and thorough overview of the work done and when I've ask for it, have also provided me with advice about possible work in the future, to maintain the integrity of my 70's home. Having said this, I have never felt pressured to do further work and have greatly appreciated the advice. For all these reasons, I cannot recommend this small business highly enough.

My laundry Tap was leaking nonstop, I got on this website, sent a message through message popup, had a response in not long but for some reason i keep the losing the message box . so I book online filled out that information and the next day a plumber came out at a agreed time i would be home. You get a message just before they arrive which is great service. When the plumber got here I was amazed he even changed his shoes before coming in, the job was done very professional service, good value for money. would highly recommend to anyone needing Gas or plumbing done

I called Cal about a few plumbing issues at my place, the most concerning being water damage on an external wall which has resulted in cracking. A plumber was sent quickly and the boys investigated the problem and gave me honest advice on what to do. It was all fixed within a day! They text when they're on the way so you're not waiting around all day for them to arrive which I love as well. Definitely recommend to anyone, reasonably priced for good quality service and supporting a local business too which is a huge bonus!

The online booking system was easy to use and Laura replied quickly to establish a booking. The SMS system told me on the day when Scott was on his way which was very convenient. Scott was professional, courteous, helpful and did a great job trouble shooting and resolving my blocked drain. No membership or upsell etc like other big name plumbing companies. Josh was our plumber from Hornecastle - he was friendly, professional with great communication through the entire job, which was completed to a high standard. A few tricky issues were discovered throughout the work that Josh didn’t hesitate in tackling and providing some really valuable advice along the way. It’s great to deal with an organisation who obviously takes pride in their work and values customer satisfaction – this isn’t always the case when dealing with trades.

I had a gas leak in my house and called Horndale Plumbing in the morning asking for their assistance in locating and rectifying the leak. Their plumber arrives within the hour, was professional and courteous, communicated well on what he was intending to do. Untimely the leak was found within the roof piping, new fittings placed to rectify the leak and the system tested to confirm the issue was resolved. I would have no hesitation using them again for future plumbing work.

Professional, honest, excellent communication, problem-solving and time-management. Within a couple of days we were given a quote which we accepted and our new double bowl sink was installed. The staff are honest (don’t try to upsell), courteous and professional and always leave the job site near and tidy. Horncastle plumbing have been out a number of occasions to our last two houses. We have had tree roots removed from blocked drains, and on the most recent occasion, they found a blocked pipe on the SA Water side, and has this reported and booked in before we even arrived home. They have also provided a filter for our tap water which we have found a lot tidier than a Puratap, and also very reasonably priced.

Scott from Horncastle Plumbing did an excellent job repairing our pop up garden sprinkler system. He even made an extra trip to a supplier to source alternative sprinkler heads to ensure better coverage. We have used Horncastle Plumbing previously for other jobs, including the installation of a new rainwater tank and sump pump, and have always been very pleased with their professional and friendly service.

I couldn't speak highy enough of Cal and Scott from Horncastle Plumbing,. From the initial phone call I felt like I was in good hands, going to be looked after and my plumbing problem sorted without fuss. Cal's calming customer service in a stressful situation was very welcomed. They were very clean and would not know where they had been after they had completed the job. Would highly recommend them.

I had a busted pipe in my shower that was leaking through the wall into the bedroom. They boys at Horncastle plumbing were a pleasure to deal with, they arrived on schedule and clearly explained the work that needed to be done. Hot water system failed on a Friday. Contacted Cal from Horncastle Plumbing on the Saturday and requested a service call on the Monday. Cal arrived ontime at 8am, provided alternative quotes to fix the problem. Quote was accepted and I had a new hot water heater installed by 1pm. One couldn't ask for better service. Highly recommended for a local plumber.

DODGY. Insisted that our water heater needed to be replaced until I said that I would cancel the job and get a second opinion. The plumber then agreed to replace the rubber diaphragm and the water heater worked fine after that. In other words, tried to OVER-QUOTE and sell us a new water heater when it was absolutely not required. DO NOT TRUST.

We had a plumbing emergency with one of our taps not turning off. My phone call was returned promptly and the team were really flexible and came the same day at a time I was able to be home. Professional, thoughtful repair and the work was completed efficiently. Very reasonably priced too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this local business.

Our problem was attended to within 24 hours. The problem was under cement and difficult to locate but, Lee, the plumber found it quickly. This minimised the cost for us. We were very impressed with the importance placed on our job and the expertise of the plumber.
