I had a very traumatizing experience that could have been prevented had my vet (Dr. Laporte) explained and informed me properly about the condition of my beloved cat. I was not explained anything well from the get-go and wasn't told what to do and not to do to leading up to her death. She didn't mention important supplements that would have helped. No urinalysis or x-ray was done to rule out causes of poor kidney function. She should have strongly emphasized the importance of these tests, but she didn't...she was impatient when I asked questions, dismissive, and overall extremely negligent. I had to research everything myself and had to ask for important vitamin supplements myself, but when I finally found out the information on my own, it was too late. Not only that, it took a whole week to get a second pouch of Sub q fluids after I said i needed more and asked for it, and other supplements were also delayed when I finally realized my pet needed them. She didn't AT ALL warn me about hepatic lipidosis, and that should have been one of the FIRST things mentioned as a possibility of killing my cat with her conditition. Stay far far away from Dr. Laporte if you have an elderly cat who needs special care and want to avoid a horrible death. She gave my 17 year old cat with bad kidneys the drug Convenia which her system could not clear due to being in kidney failure. What was she thinking? I'm sure that contributed to my cat's death as well (look upon the side effects). I'm filled with such grief and anger because of her. I probably forgot a few things, but I think I've said enough. I will say that the male owner took good care of my other cat, and I was happy with him.

The vet I had was lovely. However, some of the staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Last time I went to pick up my cat (after they had called me to tell me he was ready for pick up) they made me wait in -20 celsius weather for 30 minutes. I called multiple times to remind them I was there to no avail, once they finally came out with my cat I was upset and let them know that was unacceptable. This time when I went I was told—without any context— by the same lady I was upset with last time that "if your cat gets lost he's not our responsibility" in a rude tone. I had never asked you guys to be responsible for my cat other than when he is under your supervision at his appointments. How rude. Sounds like retaliation to me—not professional whatsoever. It's a hit or miss there, you either get a kind worker or a rude worker.

If Medicare were only as efficient and caring!... If you call L'Hôpital Véterinaire du Village, you get an appointment within hours. During an appointment, you never feel rushed and can ask as many questions as required. The vets are very knowledgeable and will explore all avenues in order to resolve your pet's medical issues. The vets call you back promptly as soon as lab test results are in and give detailed explanations. If more intensive treatment is required (cancer treatments or bone surgery for example) the vets of L'Hôpital Véterinaire du Village collaborate with the Centre Véterinaire DMV in Dorval. My shiba boy (now almost 2) and I have been clients since he was 8wks old, it's been good experience after good experience since day 1. The experienced and skilled doctors are so thorough and patient! A big thank you to the kind and friendly staff as well, I really appreciate how good you always take care of us, especially for Lele's neutering surgery, he's now recovering speedily. I recommend this establishment to every furbaby and their family, you can really tell their love for the animals!!

I have gone to them for many years for several of my cats and am very happy with the way they treat my cat .I find their costs very reasonable and they try to keep the costs down by not ordering any unnecessary tests Also they are open every day of the week which is great becuase our cats and dogs get sick on Sundays.I have tried other clinics but I found that this clinic best suits my needs and budget.

Amazing service! The veterinarians are very good as well! They are very flexible for the appointments. They open every day until 9pm and weekends until 3pm. It’s a bit pricy though but the service is very good. They also have a small pet store inside. Sometimes, they can even order something differently that they don’t have in the store but that it’s in their catalog.

Showed extreme care and compassion when I turned up with an injured rabbit. Dr. Laporte was sure to take good care of both myself and the rabbit. She made sure to walk me through everything possible and helped make the best decision for the little bunny. Thank you for the entire teams efforts. I gave the clinic a call because I needed a second opinion about my dog. Although I am not a client and my dog has not had a visit with them, they were still extremely kind and very helpful. You can tell that they know what they are talking about. They were able to give me peace of mind and help chose a flea and tick preventative for my dog.

My dog had a hangnail. The nail was broken past the living tissue so it was not a big deal but it was bothering my dog so I brought him to vet. The guy cut the nail at the root. Profuse bleeding. I've never heard an animal scream so loud. Totally unprofessional; the nail could have been cut longer. Circa 2002; no reviews back then.

These 5 stars go to Brittany, the receptionist at The Veterinary Hospital du Village. She went out of her way to fulfil our request and to ensure that our prescription was received and prepared at the pharmacy. Excellent customer service and care. What a wonderful place to take a pet. The staff are caring and compassionate. The technicians are great - they have kind words for the animals and owners. There are no words to say how how great Dr. Cardinal and Dr. Lesage are. The only place we would take our pets. We are now taking our third Golden there.

Went over and above the norm to assist me when it came time for my beautiful girl to cross the rainbow bridge...Phenomenal and caring people who know what their doing...I cannot express strongly enough what a great place this is and I highly recommend them

Brought my dog there for the first time. Dr. Pellteier was great. I asked up front what the cost would be for the visit and vaccinations, and they were right on target. I would definitely use this vet again.
