Unjustified Rent Hike Before the Holidays - A Disappointing Experience I’ve been a tenant for almost a year and was generally satisfied with my experience until a sudden and unexpected event. Just before the Christmas holidays, the management decided to significantly increase the rent of my unit, making it unaffordable for me. This abrupt change, especially during a time of year that should be filled with joy and stability, has forced me to seek a more affordable living arrangement. It’s deeply disheartening to face such a situation, particularly when no justification for the steep increase was provided. I find this practice not only unfair but also inconsiderate, given the timing and the lack of prior notice. Moving homes is a major upheaval, and to be compelled to do so during the holiday season adds an unnecessary layer of stress and difficulty. I want to advise potential tenants to be cautious. While my initial experience was positive, this recent development has completely altered my view. I strongly recommend looking around and considering other options before making a decision.⬤

Amazing place. I got in the semi heated, section 100-200.I did not need fully heated and non heated was too cold in winter and in summer it would most likely be super humid. Where I am is ideal for a car, no platform. Can open a garage door, park my car and start unloading. There’s an infinity of ways to enter. Super well kept, staff is super friendly and really want you to find a proper unit that fits your needs. They walked everywhere with me, showed me everything even though all my questions were a bit annoying. You need a password to go in and out. So that’s amazing. But I did not buy my lock from there, I decided to buy a MASTER one. Was a bit mote expensive but yeah, that’s me. Each unit door has their alarm system. Hard to commit crime, I called the police before going to ask about the crime level and they said it’s a secure place and there wasn’t any serious infraction since 2012. 24/7 camera, security always on site, etc. Anyways, A1! I recommend it no hesitation.

It all started with a very difficult journey. I travelled up and down for almost 3 months, which was finally resolved on the 14th of December 2018 with a very great professional staff called Ron (aka Ron of saint-Laurent). As a first time storage user, Ron's advice, understanding, help, details, politeness, explanations and especially knowledge of his work was extremely wonderful and very satisfactory. His knowledge of his work is at his finger tips, very great. I received an excellent service from Ron and he took care of all my needs. It was really an excellent service. This greatest customer service received, even lead me to call the head office. I highly recommend him for his knowledge and great job done. The other staff was also friendly. First off...Eric. What a little munchkin! I appreciate his smile and his effort to give assistance beyond my needs. Fantastic, friendly staff. Great thanks Ron, I really appreciate it and keep it up!

Our equipment got stolen from a locker we rented from this community but the manager doesn’t want to help even after the police say they could let us see if we see someone then they will come back to check that time and date to copy in a USB But the police are too busy to stay for hours ti check the camera. But the male manager still doesn’t care to help . He keep saying it’s the law they can’t show us . They don’t want to help their clients in this situation. It’s almost seems like they’re protecting the thieves and not helping the victims client . We just wanted to see the footage to see the plate number of the çar to catch the thieves to protect also their clients that potentially get victimized by sale thieves that surely are clients as well because they could only get in if they have the code . Or could be in side job too that’s why the manager keep prolonging our chances to see the footage before it’s gone. So disappointed

I booked a 5*10 at the public storage via a telephonic conversation. The lady was very nice and explained me the process very well. They were very prompt for confirming by booking request and gave me a headsup for the time it will take me to do the booking and the things i will need with me, this helped me prepare in advance. The day I went to do my paper work the agent walked me through the storage area and explained me the process which is quite simplified which also enable me to act quickly when I arrived later with my goods. They have a mini store with a variety of packing items and locks with a decent pricing compared to the downtown rates, in case you need to do a last min shopping. I will highly recommend this place. I am not sure how the storage is during winter, so cannot comment on that. My booking is for summer and my experience was great.

Beware of Boris!!! Horrible customer service! We have been paying for a unit for a couple of months already, when Sunday we showed up to bring a bunch of stuff to only then see that the floors in front of our unit were being painted. This said, we drove an hour to get there since we live in the east end of the city. No communication was sent out to notify us of this event. They lent us a temporary unit for the inconvenience, however, refuse to let our insurance cover this unit, or give us the key. They also expect us to return today, another hour drive there then back, during a work day, to transfer our stuff into our unit. We asked to extend our 50% rebate one more month for this huge inconvenience, yet they are only willing to give us 30$ off. That does not even cover an hour of my salary that would be lost. Do not recommend. Go somewhere else!

DO NOT STORE YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS HERE !!! Today my mother got her stuff stolen in her storage room and what i found odd was her lock was never damaged so when my mom went to report it to the front desk they acted like they didn't care and told her to report it to the police And my mom paid for insurance so if something was to ever get damaged or stolen and that the insurance would repay the items that got stolen or damaged but then they never mentioned that you need the receipt or pictures of the valuable items but thank god i kept some receipts and pictures and i don’t understand how there’s no camera in the storage room area ITS THE WORST STORAGE there birds flying everywhere and once i seen a raccoon walking around there even maybe living in the storages if i could give it a 0 star i would !

I have being in public storage 25 years. At this location. The stuff is nice. I asked the manager that I'll pay my bill on the 20th of the month one time because of difficulties to pay that month only. I was forward to the district manager Quebec. She was RUDE not understanding even though I've been there 25 years. Refusing, She also said" there's no one above me to help you." Rude and not compassionate whatsoever. A new website was built. They did not inform me. When they built the site they put the wrong email address and I could not pay my bill on time. I made changes to my email address 2014 and they never applied the new one. I had to pay the fee for late charges. Again the manager district of Quebec was not fair or understanding.

My unit was ROBBED. A bunch of sentimental and important items were stolen from my unit while I was away for 6 months and the people working here were extremely unhelpful. They also vandalized my unit and some remaining belongings. They only keep camera footage for 1 month, and didn't notice that my unit had been broken into. They took zero responsibility for this happening, and it seemed like whoever the burglar was has done this a lot. I would not be surprised if they have many robberies occur here, or if they worked here in the past and knew how to get away with it. I am very disappointed at how this was handled. I do not recommend storing your belongings here

Edit July 2021: Closed my file today, due to not needing the space anymore. Eric made it really easy and simple. My whole experience here has been great. No pressure to buy, or to stay, staff are very friendly. Will come back if I ever need to. Friendly staff, Eric helped me a lot to choose what I needed. Showed me all the available units for the size I needed. Very reasonable price compared to other locations. Only downside is limited accessibility to units on the upper floors. If you don’t use a moving truck, the dock/platform is too high, so I could not really even consider 2nd floor units. Overall, am content so far.

Don’t store your tools here since they are going to rust. I have used other storage companies before and never had rust on my tools as this time with Public Storage. As I’m pulling things out of boxes I’m seeing all the damage from the rust. It’s going to take a lot of sanding and putting wax to get the to stop rusting. Since I have to much have respect for my expensive tools I’ll never use them to store there again. Massage table cases was eaten apart from rats or mouse. Since birds seem to be flying around what ever you have at the top be carful since you well put your hands in pigeon droppings.

Ron and Eric made my day! They were both extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I watched them deal with several clients while I was there and they showed the exact same level of friendliness and professionalism to every client. I have dealt with many storage companies, rental property managers etc and these two are two in a million. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of storage services either for personal or professional use. Property is also well kept but it was really the service that stood out.

I have been with public storage for over 10years and just recently closed my account because I moved to a larger property and no longer need the extra storage space. In all the years I have always been greeted with a smile and have received excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend. I would definitely recommend dealing with Ron...he has the kindest disposition and is always ready to help or assist and just a joy to speak too. Have always had great service here at the office, especially from Éric, who was very understanding and helpful when I needed to make changes. If you have a question or request, based on my experience it's best to speak to the staff in the office rather than calling the toll-free number. I got prices from many storage facilities nearby before choosing this one: pricing is reasonable and location is easy to access. The only downside is that rent is increased every year (3-5%) which I guess I should have expected but didn't.

We used a locker there for close to two years ; Public Storage provides excellent storage conditions in a clean facility. Onsite service is excellent, prices are reasonable, as are accessibility hours. I would definitely use them again for my storage needs. My only complaint would be their occasional automated e-mail warnings about missed payments that hadn't happened ; it was annoying. I don't think it would be all that difficult to adjust this system to be more precise.

Had the worst experience with an employee at this felicity. Tried to rent a locker using company name. Told I need a business licences to set up the account. sent the licences but then told its not enough. Used this document to set up everything from registering trucks to setting up bank accounts. Decided to go to the competition who accept us with out additional paper work. After all it was just a storage locker. Heavy handed and abusive. I do not recommend.

The storage units are easily robbed. They are open from above, so thiefs will enter your unit and steal your belongings. You must use their locks, and can't use your own. Their locks are easily disabled from inside the locked units. So once someone gains access, they can open the door and steal your stuff. They need to do significant upgrades on their security. Until this is fixed, you should avoid this business.

Best experience! We were greeted by Branka who explained to us everything we needed to know being new at storage rental. She also followed up with us prior to the move. She let us know prices in detail incase we wanted to have the storage longer. Walked with us in the heavy rain to show us the locker as well! Very nice lady! Bravo on point with everything!

Totally satisfied with Public storage. I met Eric. Very sympathetic. He took the time to show us the unit we were interested in (and we respected the 6 feet distance required by the public health recommendations). He explained the policies very clearly and went through the contract with me before I signed it. I couldn't expect a better experience!

I am very satisfied with the service I got. The desk person was very courteous and professional, explaining the do's and donts with a pleasant voice, responding to my questions fully and satisfactorily. More importantly, there was no attempt to sell me anything. I also appreciated the pleasant atmosphere and the cleanliness of the surrounding.

Unfortunately people are not clean and this is the customers. The management tried their best to clean. Big problem; if I leave my locker at 10:15 p.m. I am doomed in my car will stay in the premises till the next morning. The hours need to be changed at least till 11:00 p.m. that were allowed to be in our lockers. Please help to make change!

They recently changed access that you can't drive out after 10. But they let you drive in. I was trapped until 4 am when the police got me out. Brutal. I have had a unit here for 20 years and was my first time back in 4.... Why did the gate open and let me in after 10 if I can't get out ....was -10. Pure panic mode. Super upset.

Initially had reserved 2 storages, one hot, one cold, ended up getting a slightly larger on, hot, and this was thanks to proper recommendations from the office clerk that was patient and did an excellent recommendation job. Everything was clearly explained and did bring forth confidence for this first experience.

Eric was a awesome employee. I was greeted with a cappuccino and even chocolate. He made sure to keep me updated with everything that had to do with my reservation. He went through lots of effort to get me the best price possible. I’m keeping my lock so I can come back here again, no questions asked!

Team is extremely efficient and knowledgeable. Our setup was a breeze and the facility is great - Thank you Eric Alan for walking me through everything I could have possibly needed to know (and more). Look forward to working with you guys while we re-assess our office needs in a post-pandemic world.

I got help with my booking by the lady at the front desk. She showed us the unit and access method and answered all our questions. She is cordial, professional and patient despite the location keeps having clients coming in. Apparently a well run place with popularity.

I rented a storage in December 2017 and have been with them ever since. I finally bought a shed and moved all my equipment in my backyard. Their service was excellent and I will definitely work with this team again.
