(This is not regarding pharmacy service, but the store service) Three stars simply because the afternoon cashier is absolutely miserable and rude. I frequent this location very often as I work in the neighborhood. As with any other establishment, my thoughts are always if you’re not interested in being some what friendly to customers, you should not be in customer service. Every single day she has a nasty attitude, today she snatched lotto tickets out my hand ( scratching me in the process without apology) because i mistakenly grabbed them off the counter thinking she had scanned them. In the past, I stopped spending my money here for over a year because of her attitude and a bad customer service experience i had, in which i called and spoke to the manager about her. A lot of my co-workers frequent this spot because it’s convenient and reasonable , however we all have the same complaint with her attitude towards paying customers and quite frankly I’m tired of supporting an establishment who doesn’t value those who spend their money there.

These guys are the best--i have been going monthly for the last 4 years and unfortunately they no longer take my insurance so i must go elsewhere. I wish i didn't have to, because every visit, interaction, request, etc had been taken care of immediately, successfully, and kindly. Monthly pharmacy visits can be nerve-wracking--in fact, anything dealing with health, medicine, insurance can be these days--but here it never was. They always stocked my medication, took care of insurance and authorizations, and were in contact when necessary. As big business and chain stores have cornered more and more of the pharmacy market--and almost always prioritize customer service and care below their corporate policy--the team at Downtown is sadly one of the few remaining "neighborhood" pharmacies where patients are people, not a number. Thanks to everyone there for great care!

Because of chronic illness I’ve been to a huge number of pharmacies and Downtown Pharmacy is absolutely the best. They fill complex prescriptions quickly and efficiently. If they don’t have the medication they’ll order it so you have it next day. Now that CVS and Walgreens have the power to refuse to fill prescriptions they don’t believe you should be taking, stores like Downtown Pharmacy are critically important to the chronically ill. Downtown Pharmacy still believes in the doctor / patient relationship and they don’t get involved in second guessing the treatment plan between you and your doctor. I highly recommend Downtown pharmacy for complex prescriptions and also medical equipment. They know different insurance plans and will work with you to get the prescriptions at the best price and they check for coupons.

I always as both a doctor and patient look for a non chain pharmacy. These little heroes are rare and in nyc almost extinct. But if you can find one give them your business. This one unlike some others and all chain drugstores actually has pharmacist pick up the phone. They were friendly and professional. The pick up was quick and smiles were shown. This is rare and valuable. I walked an extra 20 minutes but saves time on call -backs long lines and the all too frequent communication errors. My dad and two uncles and my kids’ godfathers were all independent pharmacists. They are entrepreneurs and public servants. The corporate ones are just like corporate doctors and vets and hospitals. Cold uninvited non passionate clock watchers Nice going Downtown Pharmacy. Nice going.

If you’re looking for a pharmacy. GO HERE. A neighborhood small business gem with great staff helped me sort out a prescription that was back ordered for months at the big box chains. Really saved me that night and they took the time to stay open a little longer to transfer my script over as they had it in stock when I was quoted months at the chain pharmacy. These people clearly love what they do. Won business in the future for sure.

Took a Covid-19 test here because I was strapped and needed one for a flight for work. They charged me $50 for the test and then charged my insurance $400+. Now I'm fighting my insurance because of these frauds. I knew it was suspicious when the PharmD was the only one who could provide the swab test at the time. Just needed his presence and signature to bill my insurance and cash in. This place is a joke. Avoid at all costs.

I wouldn't fill my prescriptions anywhere else! I fill both mine and my uncle's prescriptions here, they're fast and efficient, and the pharmacists are always happy to answer questions about our medicines. And the staff is always happy to help you locate items in the store. Plus they have a photostat machine and a notary and the prices are low, and you get 10% off most items with their discount card.

So, I came down with a nasty flu (not COVID, thankfully) and had to be pretty much out of commission for a few days. I called Downtown to get my prescription filled, expressed a couple of requests, and had someone else get my orders. Overall, it was a smooth transaction. They granted all my requests efficiently and kindly. Thank you so much!

My family and I have been using Downtown Pharmacy for over twenty years. The staff is great and very helpful and respectful. The pharmacists, all of them are caring and address all our needs. They are professional in every sense of the word. A great neighborhood place. Much better than big box drug stores. Please support them!

I had a very expensive compound made by this pharmacy that was made incorrectly and unfortunately I couldn't get my cat to take it. I called the pharmacist who was not helpful at all. He offered to try to make it correctly at an additional cost. If you need medication compounded do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

My purchase of a health product was fantastic. I have no reservations about the item I picked up. Because I have kept my healthy lifestyle, it has strengthened me. The best thing about this store was that they had licensed pharmacists who could easily accommodate us. I recommend this place highly!

Excellent service. I needed just a few needle for my insulin pen, and while other big company pharmacies couldn't sell me just a few, and without prescription they couldn't sell me a whole packet either. But downtown pharmacy sold me just the 5 I needed without any problem. Highly recomended.

A bastion of excellence, caring and professionalism almost extinct in this crushing, incompetent, failing country. Great articulate staff gets the phone on the first ring, never makes an error, great organization and record-keeping, and will ship anywhere. Five stars are not enough.

Have never actually been there, because they are, uh, Downtown and I'm pretty far Uptown. But I've been a customer for the last four years or so and they've never disappointed. Everything I've ever needed they messergered to me by the next day, occasionally same day, at no charge.

I have been going to this Pharmacy for over 10 years and they are amazing. They always have my meds never a wait great Customer service the staff is awesome from the store manager Henry to the cashier Michelle....hope everyone has the experience I have everyday.

The pharmacists at Downtown pharmacy went above and beyond to help me fill my prescription that has been in short supply in the city. I am enormously grateful for their help. I will definitely use them again in the future. Five stars all around!

It’s very convenient when you can buy money order from this pharmacy. It’s because there are various government offices in the surrounding areas where you may need to bring in a money order. Service too was much faster than expected.

So far so good. DTP rescued me from a horrific situation at a pharmacy that shall not be named but recently went bankrupt (Google it) and the staff has been so accommodating and efficient. Thank you. A++++

This is by far, the best pharmacy I've ever been too. The service and stock cannot be beaten. They've had every prescription ive ever needed, in stock, and ready to be delivered to me. AMAZING.
