Terrible and rude service. -A 45 min wait to check in for my reservation (why reserve then?) - I'm told to go do the walkaround by myself though the drop off employee Nav told me I should have had someone with me - Sent to pick up the car and can't find it. The employees outside also have trouble locating it and don't seem know where cars are. 30 minutes more are wasted. - Get to the car and the tank is not close to full. I go back into the booth and meet a young man who tells me not to worry. Return full and they will take care of me when I return it. Says he will be working that next week at my return. - I get back and have to deal with rude employee Nav, the young lady working that desk. She continually blames ME for the issue because I didn't get the name of the first employee. Says I should have done a walk around with the desk team, and told them about the tank, and thus also my fault despite doing what I was told by the first Dollar employees. She calls a manager and says the manager also feels this is my fault for not having the name of the employee. How is Dollar not checking the gas level my fault?? Nav essentially suggests I'm a liar because I can't tell her the name of the employee who gave me the information. I note they/she don't have a name tag and she's reluctant to tell me her name when I ask. It takes another half hour to get her to give me a very small credit back for not having the full tank. For the few bucks I saved it wasn't worth the hassle, wasted time, or treatment by the staff.

Poor customer service and faulty vehicle. Vehicle I was supplied did not have working rear running lights. Other drivers on Transcanada 1 highway alerted me to this as it became dark. I was Advised by customer services to have them repaired and I would be refunded upon return of the vehicle. I lost 1 day rental whilst vehicle was repaired. Upon return of the vehicle, staff were suspicious. The manager I spoke to questioned why I had waited so long to have the vehicle repaired. I informed her that she had read the date on the invoice incorrectly which she initially argued, before realising I was correct. I was supplied with a case number by customer services which along with my repair invoice eventually convinced the staff I was telling the truth. I Was told I could not be refunded for my lost days rental. They Refunded the hold on my credit card, but 2 days later I noticed a $253 charge on my credit card. Very Difficult to contact customer services to dispute. Would not recommend.

This rating is purely thanks to Navdeep who was understanding and helpful when we returned the car. I was conned into buying additional cover, being told that grit on the road can cause stone chips - it’s summer, there is no grit. I was also told that I’d be given any upgrade to a 4WD. Instead I got the car cat that I booked (ie Jeep Compass or similar - was given Nissan Kicks), which is fine but the car was filthy. The directions to the car park were also not clear. As soon as I signed on the dotted line the person who dealt with us at the airport stopped responding to our calls. So thank you Navdeep for helping improve our experience by fixing the charges that we were conned into incurring.

The worst service we have ever received. After booking a car online and paying in advance, we have arrive to pick it up after a long flight. There was one line for clients who are interested to rent a car, processing a refund and clients like us who already booked it. We were waiting for an hour in a line. We did return a car over 3 weeks ago and we did not get a deposit refund from this company. They can’t send us an email that the deposit was requested. The car was returned in an original condition, no damage and etc. Customer service representative was extremely rude and he raised his voice. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!

Fast and efficient service after a long time waiting was nice. The representative was polite enough to offer us a free upgrade from a sedan to large size SUV. The car inspection rep was also very helpful and down to earth. He answered all my questions and reassured us that previous damage on the rental vehicles was not going to be passed on as our damages. Returning the rental vehicle was simple, though I did not receive a confirmation of the return of the vehicle as promised through email. Overall, it was a fair and pleasant experience with Dollar. Our first time working with Dollar.

had no issues when picking up our car, we landed late thursday afternoon and ended up with more luggage than initially expected, so Elias kindly upgraded us from a small car to a midsize SUV for a very low rate per day. had to call in regards to a cracked windscreen and extension request but a rather rude lady answered and was not helpful at all, but to our luck, Elias took the time to get in contact through email and was able to quickly resolve our issue! couldn’t recommend enough, if you’re able to talk to the right people. thanks Elias!! you’re amazing.

We flew into Calgary relatively late on a Thursday night and Elias was there to help us upgrade from our economy car to a Tesla with AWD, since we would be driving up to Banff in late November… potentially hazardous and icy roads. He was so pleasant and patient in helping us, no fuss, no muss, the perfect managerial accompaniment to our needs. He walked us through how to open and drive a Tesla for the first time, and I’m happy to say we made it to Banff :) We would definitely rent from Dollar again, great prices and superior service all around.

Stay away from this car rental service. We had a horrible experience with the very rude and unprofessional employee named Preet. She added extra charges that she did not explain to us, and charged us fees that were incorrect. We ended up paying $2000 for a 1 week car rental. When I noticed the extra charges I tried calling customer support, who said because there is a signature they can not refund. Never, ever using this rental service again. Sticking to enterprise next time. Dollar is over-priced and so expensive, I feel ripped off.

Simran especially was not bothering about anything and doesn’t have minimum common sense of how to talk to people, she probably needs to go under training again. I recommend avoiding dollar rentals if you are in Calgary. Any answer for your questions from their team are careless and one of them actually asked us to cancel and go to a different rentals half way into our trip when we had an issue with the car. Also these guys never answer your call.

Terrible! The employee mislead my friend and I but charging almost 400$ in extra fees we were not told about on top of the additional 300$ car rental fee previously charged. Called the manager and even he said the employee should not have mislead us and should have explained better the price break down and secret charges afterwards. No refund and now my friends and I are charged 700$ for a three days van rental. Pathetic and will never recommend or deal with this company again!

Awful experience, wound up getting an extra $300 in fees I wasn't told about and hassled about credit card limits when the agent I picked the car up from (in YVR) told me I wouldn't be charged above X amount. All this on top of very rude staff. I didn't think I could have this much contempt for a rental company but here we are. It's a shame this is a giant corporation and not a mom and pop shop that could go out of business.

The car we received had way too many deep scratches and scuffed marks when I was told the car was free of any damages. I had to go back there twice to show pictures - not sure why this is my job, aren't you guys supposed to inspect the car with customers? I ended up wasting 30 minutes going back and forth, the agent was also snarky and rude. Would not use this rental car company again

Had a great experience. Car was reserved online a few weeks prior to our trip, when we got there an hour early, car was ready for pickup and we got a free upgrade. Car was clean and in great shape (it was brand new, 8k km). Dropoff was a breeze as well, all in all, I don't think we spent more than 30 minutes total at Dollar. Would definitely recommend.

Was scared off a bit by the generally nasty reviews, but eventually a nice pleasant experience renting their car. I understand it's a big turn-off waiting in a very cramped little space, but please realize this isn't their fault, and by my account, all of their employees seemed to be trying their best to serve the customers in a courteous manner.

I rented a small car they gave me a SUV from Hertz, very happy. I guess Dollar, Hertz, Thrifty are same company now. Return car is bit hard. The signs for car return are complicate. I have to wait in line for Hertz guy come to check car one by one. Generally it is ok. It took a bout 30 min for renting and 20 min for returning.

I had a booking for $1200, which clearly stated "includes all taxes and fees". When I arrived, they tried to charge me $800 extra in fees! I spent the first 2 hours of my vacation arguing with rude and stubborn staff, and they only gave me the price on my booking once I threatened to call the police. Don't rent from here!

Simran was the representative at the desk who was least bothered to assist me and my group. We were given a old car which had few issues and when we came back to exchange the car, Simran did not bother to assist us , very unprofessional and take our business elsewhere instead of trying to assist us. Do not recommend.

A Disastrous Experience with Dollar Car Rental. I recently had a misfortune of renting a car here, and I must say it was an absolute nightmare. Poor Customer Service: Simran was extremely rude, unhelpful and unfriendly. She made me wait for approx 4 hours. She had a lack of willingness to assist

Alles besstens. REIBUNGSLOSER ABLAUF. Äusserst freundlich. Ohne Aufpreis das bessere Autobekommen. Abgabe war in 2 min gemacht. Das Auto verfügte über ein Navigationssystem das aber die Karten, über mein Händy lauffen lies was viel Daten vollumen kostete.

Very happy with the service. The cars are not expensive and the process is very smooth. Wish it was open 24 hrs. We had reached at 4am. But the lady was kind enough to open at 6.45 am. The return process is smooth.

Location is not where it says on Google maps, instead you have to follow the signs to the rental car centre accessible through an elevator from the first floor of the parking garage.
