Bit of a negative review for the dog and duck. The first time, my girlfriend and I waited in a large line. No issue, I'm a patient guy. We were about to get in to the place when suddenly they close the doors and kick everyone out of the line saying the place is full and we need to go. Now keep in mind that was about a 50 minute wait to get in. After that we had to line up again and wait from the start, but one of the staff thought I pushed in the line for whatever reason and kicked me out, with my girlfriend still in the queue. I told the lady that she punted me out of the line by mistake and left my gf by herself. She goes "not my problem, go to the start of the line". Yeah whatever mate learn how to use your eyes maybe.. anyway was willing to give it another chance so I went on a less busy night and all was well, except one of the machines that sent sparks everywhere was leaking hot ash all over everyone and my finger got burned as well as a lot of my friends heads. Pretty poor if you ask me

Unfortunately had a pretty poor experience here. Was vibing all night and I got kicked out for being intoxicated (which I had like 3 drinks all night in like 4 hours so clearly wasn’t). I was baited by some girls to follow them ( gave the follow me signal with their hand) and I wasn’t aware it was the female bathroom then they screamed I harassed them? I said sorry and never went inside which I then got escorted out. I understand it’s a tough job but I just wish the security listened to me and let me explain my situation. Not to mention the 2 other security outside mocking me which I wasn’t a fan of. Happy to give it another go but I just thought it was poor of them to mock me outside and not listen. I have never had any bad or negative experiences at any of the Meek group venues and it was my first time at Dog and Duck.

One of the security guys has some serious issues (short, bald, and in his 50s). I was assaulted (unprovoked) by two guys on the dancefloor, who came out of nowhere and started pushing me. I stayed passive and was relieved to see the security come running, but to my surprise, they grabbed me and escorted me out. I can't understand how they could misread the situation so completely. I could see that some of the guards were a bit hesitant to remove me (they probably could see the unfairness), but the leader - the little bald guy - had made up his mind. And you could not reason with him at all. I tried to explain the misunderstanding but he wouldn't listen. I appreciate that it is a hard job and that they have to put up with a lot. But there is no need to take out the frustration on a polite and cooperative customer.

What began as a pleasant night out with a mate quickly changed. Shortly after we arrived, my mate's step son wasn't allowed in the club because his hooded top didn't comply with dress standard apparently. He is a teenager with less advocacy than us, suffice to say this is discrimination in a public venue. Security said it was owners request and rules and denied the kid entry. After trying to reconcile, there was still a stubborn attitude to our claims. I will refer this to the Common Law Assembly for futher investigation at a State level. When we approached the Door politely, they didn't seemed concerned that this was discriminatory act by its nature. More on this soon.

Was kicked out of this club for being "too drunk" on my first time back there. There was no reason provided as to why I was "too drunk". I was shown straight to the door. I brought 7 people into the club that night and hadnt been there in a while. This put a bad taste in my mouth considering the security who used to work there were once very friendly and reasonable. Rather than show their patrons the door...their bar staff could start practising Responsible Service of Alcohol if they think people are looking too intoxicated. Avoid this place if you're looking for somewhere respectable.

Kick out for no reason i was sober the lady pulled me from the color its offensive and such unprofessional staff i will never go back to them ,instead of spoiling ones night just try to give some customer service to people because adelaide is an international city and you guys not always get junkies from same city & specially the bald security guy and boy cut security lady and bad review goes to the owner too because he is liable for hiring bad security. I would recommend some pubs around the city because they are more welcoming and know their ethics to serve customers with respect.

My 19 year old stepson was refused entry by security because he wore a jumper whose brand name is supposedly worn by other kids that in the past have or may have caused trouble. That has to be the most ridiculous set of rules I've ever heard of. Even after he took his jumper off, he was not allowed entry. Don't label every kid that wears a certain brand name as a possible thug . There are no dress code signs on the premises. Pathetic that entry was refused over a jumper brand. Legal action may be taken......

Disgusting my daughter left her handbag in your venue and once outside realised and tried to go back in but was refused entry with no ID... I have now driven to town and tried to speak to the cowboy out front, who would not even speak to me unless I got In line.... My daughter was left stranded In town no bag no phone no money and no car keys. No wonder so many children never make it home your duty of care is Disgusting !!! Your policy and procedures need to be looked into for the safety of all our children who enjoy town.

Good music, good service, only downside is my mother lost her bag and belongings to a couple low life thieving scumbags on Friday the 9th of September 2022 at around 1:30 - 1:50. The worst part is that they returned the bag but all of her belongings including her phone, cards, photos and Adelaide show tickets were gone. Never going back there again unless we've got all our belongings super glued to our backsides. Thanks for the help and support but no thanks for the issues the other visitors caused my mother.

If your out looking for rude security and a whole bunch of girls licking tongues but not actually being bi or lesbian this is the place to be. Drink prices were acceptable thank god,=because the local scene was off vibes. I wanted to dance but too much touch up allowed, and when I asked for a Angel shot the bar lady laughed. Deep concern. Luckily I knew the owners from another city bar who called the police to help me. Shall not visit again . Sorry dog and definitely duck this venue.

It was alright. Except, going for my birthday, I expected to use my free drinks later than 12pm. There were no expiry dates on the cards themselves or the "dogs" money. They do not make this clear when signing up for the doorlists or for when we go theough initial entry to the club. When I went to enquire, they either told me to get out or deal with it. I was sober enough to understand they were just brushing me off with no accountability. Pretty poor all round.

I came here with my husband on our trip away from the kids and decided to come into the city and experience some of the night life of Adelaide. We were expecting a lovely spot to have a cooked dinner at a restaurant. We were NOT EXPECTING a crowed of drunken university students jumping in a club. I will not be reccomending this place to any of my friends. The pictures DO NOT reflect the place WHATSOEVER. We ended up having a pizza as a meal. Disgusting

Have only been the once, was pretty ordinary really. I did like the upstairs away from the music being too loud just to sit & have a drink. Pretty much a young crowd. Bar staff are mostly ok, some a little rude. Was dissapointed with the security as i was having an anxiety attack & needed to get out & they didn't help at all, just looked at me like there was something wrong with me and I just asked them to show me how to get outside.

The place is good. The security is disrespectful and discriminating. There is a fine line between being stern and being disrespectful the security needs to learn that. Me and my partner visited this place today, me were taken out of the entire line which leads to the roof top and were asked to get back in line again for no apparent reason. I found it very discriminating. Definitely not recommending this place (if you are coloured).

Great place for friends birthday party plans they have a great system for the door entrance, The fire touch in the second dance floor was an awesome touch to a really pumping club feeling as well as the DJs and hype men are really fun to watch it really is a great place to take people and have a fun night out and meet people to with everything you need food wise really close by it is perfect for a club crawl on the weekend.

My friends and I have been asked to leave the club even though we were not drunk. We were on the right limit and concious. We only had have 3 shots each. The Bar staff and securities appeared to see that we were drunk. It had happened tp other of ours Asians friends as well. I even though there once and it would be the last time. I will not recommend this bar and club to anyone.

such a weird place. if your a girl, you will not be safe here. chris the mc creeps on young girls on the dance floor while he is “working” and asks them for their details. leave the poor girls alone. i would never suggest going here alone, i saw multiple weird guys trying to get with girls who were so clearly not interested. this place has a bad reputation for a reason.

Music was way to loud for me. And a number of guys wouldn't leave my friends alone and security had to be called. Floor is sticky. Drinks are nice enough. Entry is $5 which was ok for me. And way WAY to many people in a small space. Would not recommend if you are just starting to go out to town . I didn't interact with staff much so i can't comment on that.

Excellent music, but the service is horrible. The girl was asking me drink water before get my 2nd drink. Fine I did it. Then, she gave a glass of scotch and coke to someone even I paid for it. Guess what my order is a short of scotch. This is NOT EVEN a JOKE! I told her it's not what I order. She was like "dont be rude to me hon" WTF!

I absolutely love dog and duck, I've gone every single weekend from Fridays to Sundays and for the last 3 months straight and I can't get enough of it, amazing staff, great vibes, and the music gets better and better every time, recommend this club to everyone!! Can't wait to kick start 2017 with a bang in your venue ✌ …

I've heard a lot of bad things about this place and I've only been here twice but I'd go back just to see Jason and jasmine the bartenders because they were super nice the whole time:) [edit: the roof is a lot better than inside. inside is loud and everything is sticky but i suppose it should be expected from a club haha]

My daughter was there till about 2 o’clock this morning. When picking her up she had passed out. HOW was she allowed to get legless to this extent. You’re club has a very bad reputation for this. What ever happened to Responsible Serving of Alcohol. I’m disgusted with your bar staff, bouncers and the club in general.

would go here again with some friends, haven’t tried the food yet so i’ll upgrade the rating once i try. you lose everything inside of your pockets, so make sure to bring a small bag to keep everything most important inside.

Went at 10:30pm and the floors were already sticking to my shoes with glasses spilled everywhere. Music was generic as hell and sobered me up pretty quickly. The bathroom only had 2 stalls... Both were occupied by puking thots. Even Reds is better than this place...

I have had good experiences here however I was refused entry for wearing a poncho in the middle of Festival season. This place is notorious for aggressive staff that don’t care much for patrons safety. Good place to get a cheap red tin however proceed with caution.

Got denied to be let back in for the reason 'had too much to drink' I only had 1 alcoholic drink and 3 plain Pepsi drinks (no alcohol) and was NOT drunk at all. Staff were also very rude to me when I asked why I wasn't allowed back in

Awesome place but covid rules dont allow you to dance which is hard because the sound system there booms hard ..id give a 5 but security pushed me aside when i was coming out the toilet so he could wash his hands no need for that

If you're in Adelaide and want cheap drinks and the ability to party on nights other than Saturday, this place isn't as bad as you'd think. Heard bad things, was relatively pleasantly surprised when I actually went there.

favourite place in town . really nice drink specials with geaps of disounts and vouchers to be found every night. really nice rooftop if you need a breather with spinning poles down stairs and several dj rooms …

Got asked to leave because I was apparently taking photos of girls on the toilet. Showed my whole photo gallery and that wasn’t good enough. Happy to drop 2k on the bar but the bald head mid 40s bloke had an issue.

Could not get entry, I had 0 alcohol. My friend and me got another security to ask the security at the gate on why she refused me, she said too many drinks... I was not doing anything stupid or anything at all.

Brilliant nightclub, decent prices, good facilities, clean bathrooms and plenty of them. Don't go outside after 3AM lockout and don't forget that you can't use your "dog's dollars" after 12AM.

I love the place but you came across really rude staff that thinks they are so entitled. Please treat those people who go there having a good time and spent their money.

Place was packed on Friday night. Tried the cocktails, they were good. Staff was helpful and music was good. Rooftop seating is pleasant too. Will visit again

This is an awful club. Floors are sticky, entry fee and drinks are overpriced, staff and security are rude and don’t care about the safety of patrons.

Only trouble I’ve seen in dogs, the security were straight on it and diffused the problem straight away. Extremely pleased with their response.
